I take my RAV 4 to them for service because it's close. I bought my car at Big2 in Chandler because Camelback didn't want to meet the quote I was given by Big2 which was $4k less for the LXE premium even though I was paying cash. On the service side, I use them for convenience and warranty. I don't like the constant "upselling" by the service agents. I don't know if they make commission selling gas or oils additives but that's what they try to get you to buy and it's annoying. This place absolutely sucks. Bought a vehicle through them and they first sold one out from under me, then proceeded to get me another car to look at and ended up getting it. Now going through the truck it is in terrible condition. Scratches all over, especially the roof of the truck. Sold to me dirty bc I keep pulling grass out of random areas from the previous owner. It's like they didn't even inspect this vehicle?! I'm Missing multiple bolts throughout the truck. Told me they won't top of any of my fluids and proceeded to tell me it needed to be done. This was a certified used vehicle as well. They've also broke 3/4 of my hubcaps and cross threaded one of the bolts to where my rims are fucked up. I have now noticed that my heater in my truck doesn't work, I am just now realizing this bc it's finally winter and haven't had a need for it till now and it legit doesn't blow any warm air. I will never recommend this place again and will be taking my business to big two Toyota where I have gone before for years and have never had the amount of issues I've had. I would avoid this place. Website has a price and then you get there and they show you piece of paper making a used vehicle go from 25k to 33k with garbage add ons and fees. Sales person was super unprofessional trying to use scare tactics saying that because you gave what you are looking to use as down payment and monthly cost they can use that as the offer to lock you into buying that vehicle (HAHAHA yeah right). Sales person trashed every other make that wasn't TOYOTA when I said I was looking at multiple vehicles of different makes and models that day. Even though they sell the same cars he is trashing on in his used car lot. I am sure if someone was looking at one of those vehicles they wouldn't be saying the same things he was saying. I decided to get rid of my 19 year old 4Runner with 230,000 miles and get something newer, smaller and more economical. I found the car that fit my needs at Camelback Toyota preowned vehicles. I was shown the sales contract and informed the salesman that the trade in price was too low and that I didn't want the $3900.00 warranty mainly because I was told that the car had 38,000 miles left on the Kia drivetrain warranty. Also I didn't want the $499.00 Zaktek paint treatment. They re-wrote the sales contract without the warranty and claimed that the Zaktek was already applied. I decided to buy the car. I had to listen to 3 individuals explaining why I should buy their warranty, I declined due to them implying that I had the remaining Kia warranty. I tried to pay them with my debit card but the they informed me that they had a maximum amount per transaction of $5000.00 on a debit card, but that I could apply for credit and pay the balance with no penalty charge. I signed and ended up paying a $40.00 charge for daily interest. I received the paperwork via email and noticed that there was no mention of the existing Kia warranty. I emailed the credit manager and was told that I had to go to the Kia dealer (which is also owned by Berkshire Hathaway). I went to the Kia dealer and was told that the existing warranty was only for the original buyer. I informed the Toyota sales manager and he offered to reduce their warranty by $1000.00 if I paid for it up front that day. After all of the BS from Toyota, I decided to get the Endurance warranty offered online for $129.00 per month and cancelable at any time with 30 days notice. Next day and there's oil leaking. Went back in the next day for them to simply tighten the drain plug (which should've been done properly at my original appt for the oil change). We went to the dealership to look at a Toyota Tacoma. We test drove one and asked the salesman if he could get us the spec sheet and a written estimate of the out the door price. He was super reluctant to give us any sort of numbers but asked if we would come inside to start the purchase. At this time, my wife received an emergency phone call from work and we let the salesman know she had to take the call in our car, but we would be inside in a moment to look at specs and numbers. Within probably two minutes, while on the phone with her employer, we all the sudden have a sales manager at our window waving at us and asking us if we're ready to come inside and purchase the truck. Outrageously rude to interrupt a work call we had explained was important and ridiculous to keep pushing for a purchase commitment when you won't even get us the price and specs. I understand some dealerships believe in a "high pressure" sales environment, but this was just ridiculous. At least have the decency to not interrupt what we've told you is an emergency call. And here's a tip, when someone is interested and asks for the price, give it to them. We left and will simply take our business elsewhere. read more

Heads up, I feel the need to rant. This is my 2nd post. Just when I thought I was going to get my 4Runner back... I am beyond pissed at Camelback Toyota. They have had my 4Runner since Jan. 31st to replace a head gasket. They don't communicate, I am constantly chasing them. What I know so far is they have broken at least 3 things including 2 motor mounts. Latest is them telling me it is stuck in 4 wheel drive and they don't know why. Yesterday I went there and talked to Jimmy the service manager and he assured me he would get to the bottom of it and call me back by the end of the day. No surprise, he didn't contact me. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I'd like to add that the sales manager at this location emailed me to ask if I was satisfied with my experience. I provided ALL of this information to him and he hasn't sent me a single response. This is a dealership that doesn't want to sell cars I guess. :) 1. Mike Miller had been corresponding with me over the phone for 3 days. I even called him 20 minutes before I came in with my trade in vehicle, spoke with him personally, and set an appointment. When I arrived with my boyfriend he ONLY addressed my boyfriend and seemed to have no idea who I was until I stepped in and clarified who I was that he still didn't seem to recognize who I was or care that I was there at all. I understand that sales people talk to many people every day but I don't see any reason for him to not have known why I was there and further why he would completely ignore me. 2. The next sales person I worked with--Jared--seemed completely uninterested in selling me a car and was incredibly condescending through the whole process. Not only that, but he wasn't able to answer some very basic questions about the car I was interested in. I was very upfront right away about what I wanted. I assumed this would make it easy for him to help me find a car. Instead he just sat there and gave me a hundred reasons why that car would not be an option for me. The car in question is Rav4 hybrid and I understand that they are in high demand but I was interested in models that he said were available at other dealerships that I could purchase through you guys. I was ready to buy yesterday but somehow I didn't even walk away with any information on the car I wanted despite the fact that I had requested it multiple times. 3. He told me he would see what he could do based on the numbers I gave him. He talked to who I assumed was his manager and brought me a cost sheet with the EXACT SAME NUMBERS as before just presented in different payment amounts. I am not an idiot, I know this is the same exact offer that I had JUST said wouldn't work for me. I asked for a copy of the cost sheet they brought as well as the spec sheet for the car MULTIPLE times. I never received either. I was told they would email it to me, but I received a blank email and I replied asking for the cost and spec sheet and have heard nothing. I guess he really didn't want to sell me a car! 4. Is your dealership aware of the fact that there is a pandemic going on? It seems like everyone in the building was trying to shake my hand and not a single person was wearing a mask. I'm not sure if I was discriminated against because I am a young female who they assume cannot afford the car I was asking about or if your salesmen treat everyone that way, but no one should be talked to the way we were. read more

Tried picking my car up during work break. Walked into service advisor area and waited for someone to help me. Was promptly helped by an individual who asked who my advisor was. He then went to let that advisor know I was here, and they replied I don't have a client with that last name. 1st guy started helping me when the advisor came back and said my bad, I have him. He asked me to wait while he finished with who he was helping. Approximately 30-40 minutes from the time I walked in he asked me to come over and sit. Then someone walked up and they started having a conversation. Finaly, he turns to me and asks if I mind holding on while he checks someone in. Told him never mind, I HAD to get back to work and my Wife can pick it up when she flies back in 1st week of March. First time we have ever had an issue here like that but enough that I called my wife and told her we need to find another service center. I cannot express how awful this service experience was. I bought my car last year at another Toyota dealership in the valley. Out of convenience, I recently took my car to Camelback Toyota for an oil change service. I am at 16,000 miles and let me just say, they absolutely robbed me. First of all, they told me that my Toyota Care had expired, which I thought was strange, but I trusted what they said because I was in a rush. After calling my service advisor from the other dealer, it turns out that I still very much still had Toyota Care, and Camelback Toyota wanted me to pay out of pocket. Upon chatting with my service provider from another dealer, he also informed me that I did NOT need the synthetic oil change they charged me over $100 for, and were basically taking advantage of me by charging me for the most expensive oil change possible when it was NOT necessary. The synthetic oil change is only needed every 10,000 miles. Additionally, Camelback Toyota gave me a LONG laundry list of services that my car needed done. This was surprising because I just bought my car last year and have kept up all services necessary. Luckily, I didn't buy into all the things they told me and stuck with the oil change. They also said there was a recall on my car which my service advisor from another dealer let me know that there was not! They did issue me a refund when I called but had I not made a call out to Avondale Toyota, I would've never known all the ways that this dealership attempted to take advantage of me. They were the worst a few years ago when I took my car in to get service and I could tell they didn't do a tire rotation based on the tires and a they assured me they did when I could prove that it wasn't true I gave them another chance today and their customer service still sucks for their service side. Save yourself the hassle and drive to Avondale Toyota. I usually take my car there and their customer service is on point. Always friendly always nice. I had passed my 25k inspection that's covered by the warranty by 2k miles so I had to pay for the service which was fine but after I paid and after I asked did they mention they had a deal where for 100 dollars more I could get my car serviced for another 25k miles. I'm currently leasing a Hybrid Corolla as of June of 2021. For way more than I should have ever agreed to lease it, but that's on me for letting them wear me down that day, as they do. Fast forward to December of 2021 and I had to have my cracked windshield replaced, Toyota did it in their service department, as is required with the lease. Around that same time, I started hearing a mysterious and annoying noise coming from the front left dash area. I'm busy so I just let it go until my 18-month service appointment last week. They kept my car for a day, told me that after four different possibilities and test drives, the mystery sound was coming from my glove box, which I knew couldn't be right, and was present almost immediately after driving off the lot. I called immediately. I brought my car back the next morning. They did some more trial and error all day and I went for a test drive with a foreman and he heard the sound but couldn't identify it. I ended up taking my car home again because I was getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving the next day. Nobody offered me a loaner or rental or anything, which would be the good customer serve thing to do since the issue wasn't resolved. Red flag. But, alas, I suffered through it in the car for over 6 hours round trip. Took it back today for a third time this morning, and my service advisor called several hours later to tell me they're going to have to keep the car for more than a day and do a more thorough inspection/trial & error. I asked what they offered to leasing customers when their product is faulty and he said that they don't offer loaners or rental reimbursements. What? So, in addition to paying for the leased car that is faulty and in the shop, I have to pay them (or a rental company) more money out-of-pocket for a rental while they figure out what's wrong with the car I lease from them. (Or just keep driving the car that sounds like a POS). The advisor told me this policy is a corporate thing, not a dealership thing, shifting blame for such a shady practice onto someone else. I called Toyota corporate and spoke with a girl named Asia, I started telling her my name and in the middle of my explanation of the situation, she sent me to the end-of-call rating survey - effectively hanging up on me as if she was not interested in dealing with an escalation from a local dealership complaint. I simply wanted someone at corporate to confirm that Toyota doesn't allow dealerships to accommodate leasing customers with loaner cars when their product is faulty. She hung up on me. On what planet is any of this even remotely close to award-winning customer service? In my mind, if the product I'm renting to someone is broken and no fault of the customer, I have to fix it, and/or issue a replacement or refund, depending on what the customer would like. Certainly NOT put them out or make them pay more money because I don't know how to repair it. Needless to say, this lease that expires in 18 months will be my first and last transaction with Toyota, the Camelback dealership or elsewhere. You can put an entire crew of friendly service advisors in front of me, but none of that matters when your actual service is this terrible. To be continued.... -------- Update... They "insulated the crap out of" the car and the rattling subsided, until it came back during a trip up the freeway last Saturday. Rather than call Service AGAIN, I called the Sales Dept to inquire about my options on trading it and buying a specific car they had available. I was told there are options and that someone would be contacting me. I got a call and text from a manager Saturday night asking me to send photos of my car along with the VIN and mileage. I sent all the info first thing at 7am on Sunday. At 10am, I got a call saying they were working out the numbers "as we speak" for the specific vehicle I expressed interest in on Saturday, and they would call me back "shortly." They never did. Late Sunday evening, I got a call from someone I had never spoken with, confirming my appointment with the Sales rep at Noon on Monday. I said this was never mentioned to me and I know nothing about it and I was just waiting on a call back with numbers. So I text the manager I'd been in contact with, and he replied on Monday morning, saying that appointment confirmation was a mistake, but the car I wanted was already sold before they could run numbers. I understand cars sell, but if you tell someone you're going to call them back with numbers shortly, you should do that, even if someone swooped in and bought it. I felt like I was mislead and low priority and lost my opportunity because of the cluster**k sales department. At this point, I'm looking into my options at other dealerships and likely taking my business elsewhere. read more

Prepare yourself. Long rant ahead. I am not one to take time out my day to write reviews on any sort of platform however, my experience with Camelback Toyota has been so grossly horrific that if I can even save one person some time and humiliation this will be worth it. I found a car I wanted online, came in and met Sal, my sales person, and went through the whole process. During which I was called literally stupid by the financial officer, Matt, when I didn't opt in to purchase the extended warranty. His sales tactics were aggressive and incredibly insulting. He spoke to me like I was just some stupid woman who didn't know anything. He at one point said to me he "wasn't going to feel bad for me when my car broke down and I had no warranty". Mind you and I'm a single woman by myself in here. I wish I would have studied my gut and walked out right then. Several other very inappropriate comments were made by members of the sales team about me and about other female clients which I stupidly let slide for the sake of building rep-or. During the test drive the tire sensor light threw an error code indicating one of the sensors was broken/missing. Sal assured me this would be handled no problem. I also asked if they could manage to turn off the auto stop. Sal assured me they would. All I needed to do was make an appointment with the service department. I went home with my new vehicle the same day. A week later I get a call advising the financing had not been finalized. I called and emailed for a week trying to figure out what was going on. No response from multiple employees. Sal, my salesman had quit by this point after expressing what a horrible environment this place was. After going back and forth they ended up raising my monthly payment over a hundred dollars and my interest rate went through the roof. I had already traded in my old car at this point and didn't really have an option. Fast forward a week or so, I finally get around to calling the service department to make my appointment and they tell me Sal never documented anything and that they'd have to get back to me. I was told to get in contact with Ryan, Sal's boss. After weeks of chasing Ryan down I finally get the green light and they tell me to come in for the work. I come in and about three hours later they advise it will be out of pocket. I have to explain yet again that it was supposed to be covered. I'm in tears at this point because I feel like I'm just being jerked around and treated like shit. Kyle in the service department assured me we'll get to the bot of this. I leave in hope of getting it sorted with another million phone calls. After several weeks and calls back and forth I get the green light to come in and have the work done again. So I hurry in for an early weekday appointment before I start my own job just for them to tell me it's not covered. AGAIN. I'm not saying all of the employees here are bad but I don't think I've ever been so bothered by a business transaction in my life. People are rude, they don't give a shit about your time, all that matters here is money and how much can they get from you. I provided the VIN # to the Internet Manager, Ryan, who confirmed the SUV was available and that he would pull it up front for our arrival in 30 minutes. I called to confirm, because I did not want to take my 80 yo mother across town to look at a SUV that she saw online and was exited about - if it had already been sold. When we arrived and asked for Ryan, we found out that the SUV was not there and they tried sell us a different SUV. I'm giving one star and that goes to the helpful lot attendant, super courteous. Unfortunately didn't get his name. But anyways, I went here for a warranty battery replacement. My wife's vehicle but she had recorded audio so she remembered about warranty and was told there's a two year warranty on that particular battery & if the battery is replaced within that 2 years the warranty starts over again, that was told to her by big two in chandler. Only reason I came to camelback was because it was closer to home so you could say the convenience but surprisingly was super inconvenienced. I got to the service drive and told the service advisor I'm here for a warranty battery but also to make sure it's still under warranty. So he left came back after about 15 minutes and showed me some paperwork saying the battery was not under warranty and it'll be about 190.00 to replace today. I said no I'm going to call and figure out if it's really passed warranty. So I called big two where I originally got the battery and they tell me I don't know why camelback told you that but it's still under warranty and you've only had the battery for A YEAR!! So I drove another 42 minutes here to finally get this issue resolved by big two of chandler. And guess what the battery is under warranty, so camelback literally tried to go over their own policy to get money out of my pocket! And that's not fair to the people who pay lots of money for warranty and these dealerships don't like to do the work because they make no money off these jobs. I know this because I also worked at Hyundai in the shop and they did this all the time because they "dont get paid enough" for that job. So I recommend everyone out there read your warranty paperwork thoroughly and don't let these companies scam you. Very good try camelback Toyota, but you have customers who aren't blind to the bs. read more

My experience with this dealer today reminded me of how car dealers get such a bad name. They had a new 2022 Prius on their website listed at just over $28,000. They confirmed that it was available and that the price listed was the price not counting taxes, license, etc. We drove 25 miles to the dealership and they didn't seem to know anything about it. We showed them the website and they said that there's actually another $5,000 on top of that price for the dealer added "paint protection" and other junk that I told them I don't want. My 5 star experience with Camelbak Toyota.- I was really excited to get my first brand new car, I thought the skeevy stereotypes of car dealerships were long gone in the past. I usually find myself writing positive reviews as I think it is important for people to see both sides of a story. Well if you are in the market for a new car please read my experience before you choose where you spend your money. I think character outweighs monetary value. And while Camelbak boasts more inventory than the rest of the state, they also get the award for wheeling and dealing not only their customers but even their own sales agents! In addition, anyone you talk to at Camelbak is some type of sales manager. I have never experienced anything like what I am about to share. I think it is important for customers to know what they are getting themselves into but also Toyota as a company as well as the general managers (you know the guys who dress in suits and sit in their offices made of glass....I wonder if they would want their own children (who are adorned in frames on their desk) to have the same type of treatment as I did when buying a car? One has time to ponder these types of things when they are told to sit at the dealership for 5 hours for 3 days waiting for a car to arrive. All of which may have been excusable except on the 4th day when the car did come in and while my husband was looking at the car, they sold it to someone else!! Character counts people- listen to your gut...if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't worth it. I really wanted this car and I was willing to pay over MSRP, I was willing to spend countless hours waiting at a dealer, I was willing to deal with over 6 salespeople stealing the deal from one another. I should have listened to my gut and went to Earnhardt, Big Two Toyota....basically anywhere else. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Yea I would never by a car from this place. I was assured that they only sell their cars at MSRP over the phone. The sales person kept saying the car would come "in a few days" in a "few weeks" all within the same conversation. We went in based on the car price listed on their website, only to be told that we have to pay almost $6,000 over MSRP for dealer add on like paint protection, and nitrogen on a car that they had not installed any of that since they had yet to receive it. I've bought cars before, but I have never seen such crappy attempts of justifying a mark up. We always heard Toyota was a company that prided it self in being honest, but this dealership showed us that we should probably start looking into other brands. Not to mention the sales person after assuring us multiple times that they did not have markups, was pushy and kept trying to make us understand that if we did not pay the "mandatory add ons" $6,000 over we would not be able to get the car that he had. Which again he could not tell us if the car would come in days or weeks. I will make sure that no one I know ever shops at this dealership. This dealership doesn't deserve to bear the Toyota name. I enlisted Camelback Service to perform a Pre Purchase Inspection on a private sale used Toyota as I was coming in as an out-of-state buyer. Had a horrible experience with camelback Toyota. I purchased a 2018 gmc Sierra Denali... a $42,000 dollar vehicle pre tax's and fees. There was a clear and prominent scratch and dent down the passenger side of the vehicle. I had arranged to have them fix this scratch as part of the deal otherwise would not have purchased this vehicle. After multiple months of contacting them trying to resolve this issue with ( yoana )my sales rep she continued to tell me someone would call and schedule the scratch repair but never heard from them I then escalated this to her manager (Ryan Finkel) I set an appointment to meet with him but he had passed it off to a different manager (Eli Cid) they refused to fix this issue and uphold there promise to correct the damage that was present prior to me purchasing the vehicle. This left a bad taste in my mouth considering they had promised to fix this issue and it was written into the deal! I was a former employee of the owner of the dealership and know more than 5 of the people that work at this location. Do not trust this dealership and their word and written agreements mean nothing to them. They just make false promises to sell a vehicle. read more

Update from my previous review: I ended up calling the phone number that Camelback Toyota left me on my original review and spoke to Eric Murphy who is a leader in their service department. Eric was amazing! He was empathetic to what happened during my last experience and gave a little insight as to what took place that caused the service time to increase significantly. Eric was able to make a new service appointment for me for 7/14. When I got there on Saturday, I prepared myself to wait for a couple of hours at least. I brought a magazine, an extra battery for my phone and planned on spending some time in one of the massage chairs I had heard about. I was delightfully surprised to be there for less than 1 hour! So why didn't I give this updated review 5 stars? Here are some of the suggestions that I have to improve this overall experience: 1. Over communicate with your customers. We all know that staffing can be a challenge sometimes, especially if you have unexpected absences. If you have a scheduler, have them keep track of your appointments and walk ups to see if you can still fulfill service in a decent amount of time. If not, try to contact customers to let let them know they will be waiting longer than normal or give them the option to reschedule. 2. Don't have a quiet zone right above your regular waiting area. I sat in the quiet waiting area which was basically an open loft right above the regular waiting area. It's basically like having a no smoking section in an open concept restaurant...doesn't separate anything apart. The echoing of the children playing below made it sound like they were sitting right next to me. 3. If you only have 2 massage chairs, try to make sure they're both working all the time. One of them was out of order during my visit, which made people have to wait for that chair. The person who was in there prior to me ended up doing multiple sessions in the chair causing the wait time to increase. I really appreciate Eric and his team for making my experience better this time and I plan on returning for my next 6 month check up. read more

Technicians evaluation of my vehicle was malicious. They pushed a suspension part that would cost me $2k. There was no need for this item and the diagnosis ignored rudimentary, basic fixes (per a second opinion). Spoke to the service manager to bring it to his attention and he only made excuses stating that there is a chance I need this repair. Can't attribute a side wall tire bubble to their service, but wouldn't put an intentional over inflation to my tire past this service department. I won't ever go back and suggest others proceed with caution. read more

My service appointment was never made however it was quickly adjusted since I was already there. Service was professional after that, however, customers need to beware that Camelback Toyota now requires cash, or debit card, and if you charge your bill you will be subject to a 3% service fee, which I find unfair to customers since I'm already paying a yearly fee for the credit card. Essentially businesses, like Camelback Toyota, now want immediate money guaranteed however don't want to pay for the service charge for these payments. I guess they don't remember why this was originally enacted....in exchange for immediate payment to businesses they don't have to hire people to collect monies, pay benefits to these employees, deal with bounced checks, etc. Essentially, the businesses want their financial cake and eat it to! read more

THEY DO BUSINESS VERY DIRTY and VERY UNETHICAL! DO NOT DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I spent over 2 months working to purchase a Jeep from their used cars dept online in June 2019. It was an UTTER nightmare working with them. The worst dealership of my life. We were passed around from sales agent to different people about 6 times. I have over 40 emails back and forth trying to buy the car. I was in tears a few times with frustration. Spent hours on the phone sometimes waiting. They did a bait and switch with us numerous times after we came to agreement with the sales officer and management. We even had documents signed and they came back and said there were mandatory extra fees like $1000 of paint protection and Camelback Toyota floor mats, and tacked on $1000 sales fee. We had our loan approved by a credit union but they forced me to sign financial documents as protocol. I fought it for days but they wouldn't sell me the car even though they already had a check in hand for the full amount from the credit union and they swore they wouldn't run my credit. And their financial dept then ran my credit 4 times without my permission!! Literally tarnished my credit for 2 years! And when we went to pick up the car after driving 12 hours, they tried to get us to pay extra fees AGAIN (wouldn't release the car, bait and switch!!). We waited for hours while management could see us. This was after they had the check in hand and all the paperwork was signed the week previously so everything was a done deal and they said we could just pick up the car! We threatened to make a scene to management so someone would call the cops and lose all their current customers in the building and they shut up, gave us the keys and let us go. ONCE AGAIN YOU CAN NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP. They are the slimiest business I've ever purchased from and if they hadn't had the exact used car I was looking for, I would have jumped ship right away. read more

Took my 2023 Tacoma into Camelback Toyota today for the trucks 1st service. Pictures taken by service advisor before truck went in. Received truck with a crack in the windshield. To save a lengthy read. I spoke with Jimmy Ou, who is the service manager. Jimmy basically told me Camelback Toyota is not responsible and will not take any ownership. The reasoning is that if a chip cracks while on the lift or basically anytime while in their possession they will not take responsibility. However I am not entirely convinced a chip was present anyhow be aware! I will not do Any business with Camelback Toyota going forward. read more
