Monday I made a request for appointment for flat tire check and tire rotation as indicated on dashboard. Appointment was set for Tuesday, 10:30 am. I checked in with Brandon Whittaker 10:30 and agreed to an oil change as well. After two hours waiting asked about car. Was reprimanded for asking in a manner that Brandon did not like. Car was parked untouched. Was told did not know when it would be ready. As I had a 2:30 work schedule, I could not wait more than another hour. Thus, I took back my car and left. I'm currently leasing a Hybrid Corolla as of June of 2021. For way more than I should have ever agreed to lease it, but that's on me for letting them wear me down that day, as they do. Fast forward to December of 2021 and I had to have my cracked windshield replaced, Toyota did it in their service department, as is required with the lease. Around that same time, I started hearing a mysterious and annoying noise coming from the front left dash area. I'm busy so I just let it go until my 18-month service appointment last week. They kept my car for a day, told me that after four different possibilities and test drives, the mystery sound was coming from my glove box, which I knew couldn't be right, and was present almost immediately after driving off the lot. I called immediately. I brought my car back the next morning. They did some more trial and error all day and I went for a test drive with a foreman and he heard the sound but couldn't identify it. I ended up taking my car home again because I was getting ready to travel for Thanksgiving the next day. Nobody offered me a loaner or rental or anything, which would be the good customer serve thing to do since the issue wasn't resolved. Red flag. But, alas, I suffered through it in the car for over 6 hours round trip. Took it back today for a third time this morning, and my service advisor called several hours later to tell me they're going to have to keep the car for more than a day and do a more thorough inspection/trial & error. I asked what they offered to leasing customers when their product is faulty and he said that they don't offer loaners or rental reimbursements. What? So, in addition to paying for the leased car that is faulty and in the shop, I have to pay them (or a rental company) more money out-of-pocket for a rental while they figure out what's wrong with the car I lease from them. (Or just keep driving the car that sounds like a POS). The advisor told me this policy is a corporate thing, not a dealership thing, shifting blame for such a shady practice onto someone else. I called Toyota corporate and spoke with a girl named Asia, I started telling her my name and in the middle of my explanation of the situation, she sent me to the end-of-call rating survey - effectively hanging up on me as if she was not interested in dealing with an escalation from a local dealership complaint. I simply wanted someone at corporate to confirm that Toyota doesn't allow dealerships to accommodate leasing customers with loaner cars when their product is faulty. She hung up on me. On what planet is any of this even remotely close to award-winning customer service? In my mind, if the product I'm renting to someone is broken and no fault of the customer, I have to fix it, and/or issue a replacement or refund, depending on what the customer would like. Certainly NOT put them out or make them pay more money because I don't know how to repair it. Needless to say, this lease that expires in 18 months will be my first and last transaction with Toyota, the Camelback dealership or elsewhere. You can put an entire crew of friendly service advisors in front of me, but none of that matters when your actual service is this terrible. To be continued.... -------- Update... They "insulated the crap out of" the car and the rattling subsided, until it came back during a trip up the freeway last Saturday. Rather than call Service AGAIN, I called the Sales Dept to inquire about my options on trading it and buying a specific car they had available. I was told there are options and that someone would be contacting me. I got a call and text from a manager Saturday night asking me to send photos of my car along with the VIN and mileage. I sent all the info first thing at 7am on Sunday. At 10am, I got a call saying they were working out the numbers "as we speak" for the specific vehicle I expressed interest in on Saturday, and they would call me back "shortly." They never did. Late Sunday evening, I got a call from someone I had never spoken with, confirming my appointment with the Sales rep at Noon on Monday. I said this was never mentioned to me and I know nothing about it and I was just waiting on a call back with numbers. So I text the manager I'd been in contact with, and he replied on Monday morning, saying that appointment confirmation was a mistake, but the car I wanted was already sold before they could run numbers. I understand cars sell, but if you tell someone you're going to call them back with numbers shortly, you should do that, even if someone swooped in and bought it. I felt like I was mislead and low priority and lost my opportunity because of the cluster**k sales department. At this point, I'm looking into my options at other dealerships and likely taking my business elsewhere. read more

SALES---Wnat you would expect HIGH pressure rude in your face, mostly. So the guy we got for sales was a new guy. We were in the lot talking about cars etc and some 'full-of-himself' manager came up and completely interrupted us and talked over our sales guy and was generally rude. When we got inside our guy (we will call him Fred) was new so he had a trainer. The trainer completely cut Fred out and anytime I tried talking with Fred or to include him the other guy cut in or spoke over one of us. This should have been a sign but I liked the truck. We got through this with the normal lies and attempts to manipulate or etc. Fred then was allowed to walk us to finance. This was a fantastic experience the woman was amazing and everything that you should be in customer service, SERVICE--Two weeks after the sale I was on the phone with the service dept. I was told that there was a single point of contact and that no other person in the entire Camelback Toyota employment could do anything to help me. This person was not available and I could only leave a message and when he got around to it he would call me back. That is a disgusting and revolting way to run a service department. I was told it was because it was so soon after the sale that he was the only one. It would seem to me that if I need service 2 weeks after the sale that the owner would be on the phone making sure I was taken care of immediately. I finally got the guy on the phone took the car in and they did not provide the rental that was is a part of my contract but they did get me a ride home. They called back in a day and said that nothing was wrong and that I would just have to wait until something more catastrophic happened. I told keep the car drive it like you own it. They said fine. A few days later they called back and said hey so you were right. The transmission does have a problem and your tires are in serious need of replacement, so we are gonna get you new tires and order the parts. The part are on back order so you can have you car back till then and it is fine to drive until then if something happens we will have it towed. Those new tires were not new they were used they even have a plug in them. They did finally get me a rental during this time also. But I had to push for it. So the car parts come in and we make arrangements for a drop off 2 weeks into the future. This suited both of us as they at that moment had no rentals and I was not free to bring the truck in for several days. When finally the day to drop off arrived they call the at 5pm the night before to say that they will not have a rental and that I can still drop the car off if I want but I will be without that car for the duration of the repairs. I have a contract that says I get a rental during repairs and they have breached that contract twice in two months and lied about getting me new tired and sold me a truck with a bad transmission. read more

Prepare yourself. Long rant ahead. I am not one to take time out my day to write reviews on any sort of platform however, my experience with Camelback Toyota has been so grossly horrific that if I can even save one person some time and humiliation this will be worth it. I found a car I wanted online, came in and met Sal, my sales person, and went through the whole process. During which I was called literally stupid by the financial officer, Matt, when I didn't opt in to purchase the extended warranty. His sales tactics were aggressive and incredibly insulting. He spoke to me like I was just some stupid woman who didn't know anything. He at one point said to me he "wasn't going to feel bad for me when my car broke down and I had no warranty". Mind you and I'm a single woman by myself in here. I wish I would have studied my gut and walked out right then. Several other very inappropriate comments were made by members of the sales team about me and about other female clients which I stupidly let slide for the sake of building rep-or. During the test drive the tire sensor light threw an error code indicating one of the sensors was broken/missing. Sal assured me this would be handled no problem. I also asked if they could manage to turn off the auto stop. Sal assured me they would. All I needed to do was make an appointment with the service department. I went home with my new vehicle the same day. A week later I get a call advising the financing had not been finalized. I called and emailed for a week trying to figure out what was going on. No response from multiple employees. Sal, my salesman had quit by this point after expressing what a horrible environment this place was. After going back and forth they ended up raising my monthly payment over a hundred dollars and my interest rate went through the roof. I had already traded in my old car at this point and didn't really have an option. Fast forward a week or so, I finally get around to calling the service department to make my appointment and they tell me Sal never documented anything and that they'd have to get back to me. I was told to get in contact with Ryan, Sal's boss. After weeks of chasing Ryan down I finally get the green light and they tell me to come in for the work. I come in and about three hours later they advise it will be out of pocket. I have to explain yet again that it was supposed to be covered. I'm in tears at this point because I feel like I'm just being jerked around and treated like shit. Kyle in the service department assured me we'll get to the bot of this. I leave in hope of getting it sorted with another million phone calls. After several weeks and calls back and forth I get the green light to come in and have the work done again. So I hurry in for an early weekday appointment before I start my own job just for them to tell me it's not covered. AGAIN. I'm not saying all of the employees here are bad but I don't think I've ever been so bothered by a business transaction in my life. People are rude, they don't give a shit about your time, all that matters here is money and how much can they get from you. I was impressed at the level of customer service I experienced and even more impressed with the price and payment I wanted being set over the phone as to avoid sleazy negotiations like at Larry Miller. My Toyota Highlander and I couldn't be in better hands than the service department at Camelback Toyota! Every person I saw was friendly and speedy. Sergio called me at 7 AM following a 10 PM Monday night message my car needed it's 30,000 mile check up. By 7:45 AM he was meeting me as I drove up to service reception at my car, paperwork in hand. he'd already advised the car rental desk to have a car ready and directed me to the counter. Since I'm at a women's conference all day I can bring the car back in 24 hours for the smoking deal of $9.50. I grab a coffee and a bagel and I'm out the door in 10 minutes! They did the same thing this morning when I drove in, meeting me at the car to pick up the rental car key and sending me to the cashiers desk with no wait. Free coffee and bagel on the way out. Car washed. And I'm on my way to my day! And my car is Highway ready to drive to Santa Monica tomorrow to go to school! I thought I'd have to wait for an appointment next week. My 5 star experience with Camelbak Toyota.- I was really excited to get my first brand new car, I thought the skeevy stereotypes of car dealerships were long gone in the past. I usually find myself writing positive reviews as I think it is important for people to see both sides of a story. Well if you are in the market for a new car please read my experience before you choose where you spend your money. I think character outweighs monetary value. And while Camelbak boasts more inventory than the rest of the state, they also get the award for wheeling and dealing not only their customers but even their own sales agents! In addition, anyone you talk to at Camelbak is some type of sales manager. I have never experienced anything like what I am about to share. I think it is important for customers to know what they are getting themselves into but also Toyota as a company as well as the general managers (you know the guys who dress in suits and sit in their offices made of glass....I wonder if they would want their own children (who are adorned in frames on their desk) to have the same type of treatment as I did when buying a car? One has time to ponder these types of things when they are told to sit at the dealership for 5 hours for 3 days waiting for a car to arrive. All of which may have been excusable except on the 4th day when the car did come in and while my husband was looking at the car, they sold it to someone else!! Character counts people- listen to your gut...if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't worth it. I really wanted this car and I was willing to pay over MSRP, I was willing to spend countless hours waiting at a dealer, I was willing to deal with over 6 salespeople stealing the deal from one another. Normally when i come here the staff are always smiling and respectful. But in the recent years, I've started to notice that the only time they're "nice" to you is when they know you're buying a car off the lot. While my car was getting an oil change and serviced, I brought my own snack but forgot plates and went to the cafe thinking they would be free. When I got there, some lady with light brown/dirty blonde hair ignored me when i walked up, then gave me an attitude when i tried to get her attention. I asked if I could have a spare plate, (NOWHERE does it say they charge), and she said, (loudly enough for my sister who was with me sitting in the waiting room could hear it over other peoples conversations) "No I can't just give it to you for free you need to pay, how much do you have $1?"..... I'm sorry but, "how much do you have"...? So because I have brown eyes and tan skin she's not only assuming I don't have money, but she's also trying to pocket money from customers? I asked her why they were a dollar and she said, "well I'm not giving it to you for free, if you want a plate then it's a dollar". But then every other customers with lighter eyes and toned skin get greeted and acknowledged with a friendly smile, do other people also get charged for a plate when they ask? Had a horrible experience with camelback Toyota. I purchased a 2018 gmc Sierra Denali... a $42,000 dollar vehicle pre tax's and fees. There was a clear and prominent scratch and dent down the passenger side of the vehicle. I had arranged to have them fix this scratch as part of the deal otherwise would not have purchased this vehicle. After multiple months of contacting them trying to resolve this issue with ( yoana )my sales rep she continued to tell me someone would call and schedule the scratch repair but never heard from them I then escalated this to her manager (Ryan Finkel) I set an appointment to meet with him but he had passed it off to a different manager (Eli Cid) they refused to fix this issue and uphold there promise to correct the damage that was present prior to me purchasing the vehicle. This left a bad taste in my mouth considering they had promised to fix this issue and it was written into the deal! I was a former employee of the owner of the dealership and know more than 5 of the people that work at this location. This place absolutely sucks. Bought a vehicle through them and they first sold one out from under me, then proceeded to get me another car to look at and ended up getting it. Now going through the truck it is in terrible condition. Scratches all over, especially the roof of the truck. Sold to me dirty bc I keep pulling grass out of random areas from the previous owner. It's like they didn't even inspect this vehicle?! I'm Missing multiple bolts throughout the truck. Told me they won't top of any of my fluids and proceeded to tell me it needed to be done. This was a certified used vehicle as well. They've also broke 3/4 of my hubcaps and cross threaded one of the bolts to where my rims are fucked up. I have now noticed that my heater in my truck doesn't work, I am just now realizing this bc it's finally winter and haven't had a need for it till now and it legit doesn't blow any warm air. I will never recommend this place again and will be taking my business to big two Toyota where I have gone before for years and have never had the amount of issues I've had. Thankfully, I was able to negotiate a great deal with him and his sales director, Richie Davidson, via emails and text messages. Upon my arrival to the dealership, Dwight was courteous and polite. It was an incredibly warm morning and yet Dwight was running across the dealership to grab keys, water, etc. The perspiration on his forehead was noticeable and I appreciated the urgency of his customer service. After agreeing upon a purchase price, Dwight sent the vehicle to be washed and he even transferred my previous license plate frame from my trade-in to my new vehicle. Also, he went through the owner's manual with me even though it was for a non-Toyota vehicle. Dwight walked me out to my new car and made sure I was happy with everything prior to leaving the dealership. A few days later, he called to follow up and asked if my wife liked the vehicle as well. Technicians evaluation of my vehicle was malicious. They pushed a suspension part that would cost me $2k. There was no need for this item and the diagnosis ignored rudimentary, basic fixes (per a second opinion). Spoke to the service manager to bring it to his attention and he only made excuses stating that there is a chance I need this repair. Can't attribute a side wall tire bubble to their service, but wouldn't put an intentional over inflation to my tire past this service department. Took my 2023 Tacoma into Camelback Toyota today for the trucks 1st service. Pictures taken by service advisor before truck went in. Received truck with a crack in the windshield. To save a lengthy read. I spoke with Jimmy Ou, who is the service manager. Jimmy basically told me Camelback Toyota is not responsible and will not take any ownership. The reasoning is that if a chip cracks while on the lift or basically anytime while in their possession they will not take responsibility. My service appointment was never made however it was quickly adjusted since I was already there. Service was professional after that, however, customers need to beware that Camelback Toyota now requires cash, or debit card, and if you charge your bill you will be subject to a 3% service fee, which I find unfair to customers since I'm already paying a yearly fee for the credit card. Essentially businesses, like Camelback Toyota, now want immediate money guaranteed however don't want to pay for the service charge for these payments. I guess they don't remember why this was originally enacted....in exchange for immediate payment to businesses they don't have to hire people to collect monies, pay benefits to these employees, deal with bounced checks, etc. Essentially, the businesses want their financial cake and eat it to! read more

I ended up buying used from another dealer but decided to visit this dealership for every service issue I had: maintenance and unexpected. Sales person was super unprofessional trying to use scare tactics saying that because you gave what you are looking to use as down payment and monthly cost they can use that as the offer to lock you into buying that vehicle (HAHAHA yeah right). Sales person trashed every other make that wasn't TOYOTA when I said I was looking at multiple vehicles of different makes and models that day. I can't believe I just paid $200 just to be in a bad mood. Came in because my check engine light was on, told them I thought it was the fuel line that was leaking. Even left paperwork on the wheel detailing the error code, like do I got a thank you? Anyways, the next day they finally look at it (I will admit I did not have an appointment) and they tell me that it'll be 40 bucks to wipe off the corrosion on the battery. Overpriced, but whatever, he did a good job. Then the inspection to determine what was wrong came up. 150 bucks to blow smoke in my pipes? Like...I told you guys there was a leak and you did that to confirm what I said so.....idk why that took so fkn long, and why that's so expensive. I looked up what's involved, and it's not a lot of work. The following reason is why you got knocked from 3 stars to 2. I'm glad the check engine light is off, but I guess you removed the terminals from the battery for 30 mins, so it'll come back when the sensor detects the leak again. But then I come in and my dash cam is just like, totally disassembled??? Like bro....I get that you might not like being recorded. But you pulled my camera off the windshield, unplugged all the cables, turned the front facing around, and ripped the cable out of the weatherstripping. All you had to do was unplug it from the outlet, so like...fk you Jairo. At least have the decency to put it back together when you're done with it. I would put 1 star, but you guys do have the capacity to fix things, but I'm pissed off about this whole experience. You are way over priced, take way too long, don't communicate what you're doing, don't take pics so I don't even know if the work you're doing is even worth it, and you disrespected my property. When I ask for a print out of all the things wrong with my car, they get very defensive and say "is there a reason why". They think they can pull a fast one with a female especially. Looks like I have the same story as others. I was told over the phone, MSRP for a new 4Runner and no markup besides $1280 for tint, paint protection, and door edge guards. I came in for the vehicle within 1 hour of it arriving at the dealership. We agreed on all the numbers including the trade in value of my vehicle and even signed a agreement on terms. Salesman comes back and says it was just sold to another customer BUT that another one is coming in 4 days. I said ok, and asked do we get the same agreements he said yes and came back with the paperwork BUT now it shows a $5000 markup. I told him that we never agreed on any markup, let alone a $5000 one. He then tells me they won't sell it without the markup. read more

Stopped by in a great mood and ready to find a Toyota, though not in any great rush. When I pulled up, 4 men were waiting before I even turned my car off. From that moment on, a salesman was glued to me. I told him I wanted to check out many models but by the first car, he was asking me if I would be financing. Dude was climbing into the back seat of every car I entered or worse -leaning over me in the front from outside arms splayed blocking me in. This place is a major buzz kill of desperate high pressure. When I left I still don't think he had an idea what I was looking for, since he did all the fast talking and objected to my objections. Big nope to this experience. I did end up getting a Toyota btw. Just not here. read more

Ed is my dude! He always takes care of me and my car. He tells me how it is, no fluff attached, no extras forced onto me. He will tell me ahead of time what is going to be due soon (ex brake pads or tires) so I can know how much to money to save for future visits. BUT, I have learned that not everyone is like Ed, and I learned the hard way. I will literally only bring my car from now on if it's with him. The service center is huge. It has a little cafe where they serve complimentary coffee and drinks. They used to have a full service cafe where you could purchase any type of food or drink. I miss that. Now they just have one type of food available. It's great that it's complimentary but being a vegetarian and a hungry hippo I it doesn't always suffice. The waiting area is expansive with several areas to sit at, lots of magazines, and a kids zone. Although it isnt required, make sure to get an appointment because without one you're going to be waiting several hours for something as simple as on oil change. I've had some days where I wait an hour and others where I've had to wait 5, so it's definitely varied either way. There are lots of local places you can go to if you don't want to wait at the service department. read more

Hands down, one of the best and easiest truck buying experiences we had! Started off by using their website that had all the information at our fingertips. Nothing was hidden, details and price were easily stated. Asked to be contacted and was promptly followed up by Dwight with the DASH program. EVERY SINGLE email and phone was so professional with detailed information. All my questions were answered and the final price we agreed on was exactly what was waiting for us in the finance department. Upon arrival, our truck was in the delivery bay ready for a test drive. After the test drive, we were taken around the dealership to see where the service and parts department was. Shortly after that, we were taken to finance, signed our papers and off we went. Again, Dwight was so awesome to work with and made our experience a great one. We were in and out within an hour and a half. We highly recommend Camelback Toyota and Dwight! read more

Received an update from "Josh S" from Camelback Toyota asking that I reach out to Izad and send that person an email at my earliest convenience to lzad01@camelbacktoyota.com or Izad01@camelbacktoyota.com. I could not decipher if the "lzad" started with a lower case "L" or an upper case "i". So I sent an email to both. The two emails were sent on 11/10/21 around 10 am. It is now 4:45 pm and I have yet to receive any emails back from Izad. Once again...terrible customer service from Camelback Toyota. Who knows if an "Izad" really even exists. Their responding to my negative review could just be a front to make others that read my negative review, and Josh S responding, they make it look like they care but no one actually responds to my email. Josh S...my mistake in updating my post. I wrote the wrong email that I said I sent the email to. I checked my outgoing email and I did sent the email to the correct email address: Ifar01@camelbacktoyota.com. I am willing to take a screen shot of the date and time I sent it. Still, no response. WHY DONT YOU HAVE IZAD REACH OUT TO ME? You have all of my contact information. That might be simpler. Actually, disregard having Izad reach out to me. He had his chance. This just shows how much Camelback Toyota feels with their customers. The customer shouldn't have to bend over backwards to please Camelback Toyota when they are the ones that messed up a service and lost parts. read more
