    Birria tacos

Real Mexican, real chips and salsa!! My girlfriends and I tried this place out after being disappointed by a lot of the other "Mexican" places in the area. There chips and salsa are homemade and you pay by the basket but I'd happily give them my money! Menu has a ton of choices! We all had something different; enchiladas, super burrito, birria tacos and chorizo potatoes tacos. There were no complaints and plenty of leftovers. Service was on point and I'd definitely come back again!

This is a quaint little Mexican place my partner and I get take out from every now and again. We both love Mexican (tex-mex and authentic) and this place definitely isn't authentic but isn't too tex-mex either. I'm more of a sagebrush person (Lake Orion, also Tex-Mex) but this place is a nice substitute and is A LOT closer. My partner likes this place a little more than I do and will sometimes get takeout on their own. Our most recent takeout I got the nachos with ground beef - the website implied it was shredded but it ended up being ground unfortunately, and kind of ruining it for me. I've had the flautas, as well as quesadillas from here and both are just O-K. My partner loves their tortilla soup and their fautas. We will visit again but if sagebrush was closer I'm not sure I'd come back.

Cute little spot in Madison Heights. Cozy. Welcoming. Fast service. Drink menu is awesome. Full bar. Lots of authentic food options as well. Menudo, mole, shrimp cocktail, fajitas, and the best birria tacos. The chips and salsa tasted home made. Overall the food was amazing. I was full and wanted to try the entire menu. The price was doable as well. Will return.

We really love this local Mexican restaurant, where everything is homemade from the soups to the rice to the beans to the taco shells and now they have pastries as well. It's very busy so be prepared to wait no matter if you are eating in or getting takeout. Some of our favorite items are the tortilla soup, the taquitos with beef, the chips and salsa, the carnitas poblano enchiladas, the puffy tacos and just the classic crunchy tacos.

The food and margaritas are really good. We go regularly! I think my favorite thing is the birria tacos.

Service is usually the same guy Every time I come in with my family, forgot his name but he's always been kind to us. Not an inherently bad restaurant overall. However, almost every single time I go to this place, I always get sick a week or less after. At first I didn't think much of it, and then it kept happening, and now it's not a coincidence anymore. I don't know what kind of germs go into making the food, and trust me I get it. I've worked in kitchens that have gotten away with a TON of stuff that the customers would revolt at if ever heard. But personally, it does make me quite nauseous thinking about how many plates have been served (not just mine) with dirty gloves. Something my grandma used to say was if you find one cockroach, thats an isolated incident. If you find one cockroach, and then found another, there's probably a lot more that you don't see. Just a thought. 2/5

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.

Let's just say they definitely improved ! We got an order of chips and their seasonal salsa, which was roasted red pepper, and it was very flavorful and delicious. I got a hot honey burrito with beans and rice and my gf got birria tacos. Also not pictured is a marg. Hot honey burrito was a lot of food! The rice is okay, a little bland and clumps together, unlike traditional Mexican fluffy rice. Refried beans are fine. Burrito is very filled and was super sweet from the hot honey which made it a bit hard to finish, but definitely enough food, and I probably could have eaten half. Birria tacos were delish and the consumé was super rich. Margs come in different flavors but they all kinda taste the same to me so far, and they're strong. Maybe a bit too strong? Depends what your goal is with them. Service was good, a little slow for us being at the bar, but nothing to be concerned about. Trivia was fun and we'll definitely be back to try some other things on the menu. Great job on menu revamp!

BUT we saw that they recently refreshed their menu and decided to give them another try and ordered some different options off of the menu and were really impressed this time around. The seasonal salsa was a roasted red pepper which was a great start to our meal, we also got some $5 house margs which are super strong and refreshing. I had the birria tacos and I thought they were really good! The meat was super tender and the consommé was really flavorful and well seasoned, I've had some other places that were pretty watery. We sat at the bar and our bartender was super friendly and the food came out so fast we were pleasantly surprised! And trivia is always a blast with Pajama Dan.

Originally we planned to eat at Cafe Muse but was told wait would be 45 minutes for a table. The solution....Condado Tacos! Upon arrival, we were seated right away. I ordered a margarita flight and we shared a half size guacamole with chips. That was the best part of the meal! I also ordered the new Yuzu Shrimp bowl with lettuce as a base. I expected it to be better...the shrimp were micro miniature in size like popcorn shrimp and overcooked. Hard, chewy and no flavor. Yuck. I also was disappointed in the amount of lettuce underneath the pico and cabbage....barely a 1/2 cup as the base. Our server was attentive, friendly, and even cracked some jokes with us and chatted. However, next time I'll be hitting up Mesa or Iron Horse down the street for Tex Mex cuisine. I love the hipster atmosphere and vibrant wall graffiti art at each of their locations but it didn't make up for my entree today. They need to bring back the jackfruit vegan protein option....that was the best!
