First time going to Camelot, and gives a nice English pub ambiance with a lot of Camelot and English decorations. The place is a little small but it is not a problem if you have a small group. I ordered the Camelot platewhich gives you 3 shrimps, 3 scallops, 3 oysters, 1 big piece of fish, and plenty of fries. It excludes the krabcakes. Camelot plate is worth trying if you do not know what you want or if you want to try every except for the krabcakes. I recommend getting more tartar sauce. Nothing special about the tartar sauce, I just like more. :P Overall, a pleasant experience and will be returning. read more

A cute, homey British Pub with some good fried seafood and fries straight out of the fryer. I'm not actually a huge fish-n-chips person, so I usually get the fried crab cakes which always come out great and meaty. I do love grabbing a Snakebite here! There's always a line though it moves quickly. The place is small so seating is limited. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you, the wait being average. A little gem. Whenever I crave for fish n chips and don't want to go to fisherman's wharf, this is where we go to fulfill that craving. It's not as good as the Codmother Fish n Chips at the wharf but it's somehow ok than everywhere else. When you walk in there, it's like you're in a local british pub. Yum! Beer battered fish and deep fried calamari... this is paradise if you'e craving salty-vinegary-fried food. Best fish & chips in the Bay that we've found so far. Crispy and not soggy, best w/ lots and lots of salt & malt vinegary and a smell that will linger in the air and your clothes for HOURS. All were devoured by a team of carnivores in minutes. Usually eat here once or twice a year, but this last visit was a bit disappointing. This is how it went down... I called in my take out order at 6pm and was told that it would be 20 to 25 minutes before it was ready. I arrived at 6:30pm, paid for my order and was told to wait. An additional 25 minutes passed before my order was finally ready. During that time, 2 other patrons arrived after me and were served before me. We order to go since the place is too small. The order took place for almost 25 minutes. When there are available tables to sit, we decided to sit down due to long standing. The cashier approach us and said if we order to go we can't sit down. So we need to stand on the door to wait for our order. The food is not even good. Poor customer service. We went crabbing in half moon bay and thought we would drive a few more minutes up north and try Camelot's. We were not disappointed. So glad we stopped. I was also surprised at their prices. They did remodel... looks fantastic. Mom use to take us here after working the day shift at the 711... back in the day when relatives owned it lol. Camelot's is still as good as I remember. I appreciate that they use peanut oil for all their fried goodies =D and comes out pipping HOT... let it cool before you devour it ... Of course things are bit more pricier... The place itself is small and kinda crowded and but its cozy. You definitely get the "I feel like I'm in London kind of vibes". My parent's first took me here years ago. Turns out they used to eat here when THEY were dating... gnarly. It's fair to say that every time I pass through Pacifica, I always have to stop into Camelot for some fish and chips, and I haven't been anywhere that does it better, granted I've yet to leave the country for the real deal. The fish is super tasty, especially with tartar and plenty of malt vinegar. Wash all that fried goodness down with a tasty bottled Guinness, or a spicy ginger beer if you're underage. The last time I did go, I will admit my chips were a tad soggy, but it didn't bother me too much. The basket if fish and chips plus a coke costs about $10, which is pricier than the lunch costs but I wouldn't be surprised since it's fish. I was sad, because I forgot to take pictures of my order and I realized it after finishing my meal.. sadface. Let's take a couple of steps back to when I got my order so I can tell you about that! I received two decent sized pieces of fish on top of a nice handful of fries. The fries weren't as good, but I guess it's the type of chips that goes with the fish. I wouldn't say the fish was great, but it was pretty good. Some people don't like Tarter sauce, but I think it goes well with the fish. You can get a nice bite full of fish flavor, but what I enjoyed more than the flavor of the fish was the crispy skin. Rude manager. I went there on a Saturday after walking my two tiny dogs on the beach. I called beforehand and they said I could bring them in. While in line to order, she comes out and in the rudest manner told me- You cannot have them here! and I said I just called and was told it would be fine, literally 3 minutes ago. Having passed this tiny hole in the wall at least a thousand times over the years when headed to the Pacifica post office, I finally decided to stop in. My healthy breakfast had given way to gigantic rumblings and dinner was still several hours away. I found myself in a very atmospheric place, filled with memorabilia of England - pictures of Lady Di, the Queen, Guinness ads, flags, etc and a great assortment of fried fish and seafood choices. Of course, I had to have the big combination called "The Camelot" - it included fish, 3 shrimp, 3 oysters,3 scallops and fries. Only calamari were missing and I don't see why they couldn't have ordered a few of those as well. I left off a star just for that...I love calamari! I restrained myself from ordering a side of mushrooms and sweet potato fries. I finished everything except except a few fries and washed it down with a wonderful draft of Guinness ( I'm normally not a beer drinker except for the dark kind ). All in all, it was quite tasty though I'm not overly fond of fried food any more. If I could have gotten a grilled seafood plate with the same choices, I would have really been happy. I wasn't crazy about the tartar sauce but the malt vinegar was fine. Nothing could really compare with my visit to British friends in Rye and eating at the fish and chips place, right on the beach, that they took me to there. It was a Friday, during the Lenten season, and we were looking for fish! We found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It is located on a short street just before you get to the ocean, and were able to get parking in front. We walked in and felt like we were in a pub in Ireland. It was small (still able to get a table!), wood everywhere, and decorated with things from England and Ireland. We ordered baskets of fish and chips, scallops and chips, and calamari and chips. All of them were incredibly satisfying for different reasons. The fish was mildly flavored, moist, and flaky. The scallops were soft and buttery. Finally, the calamari had a crust that had some spice and had a perfect texture. Everything was washed down with some Guiness and Smithwick's. Both were perfectly and expertly poured from the tap.
