I love Camp North End! What's not to love? It's outside and spread out. There's tons of cool outdoor art. There are always popups and other events going on. There are lots of good restaurants too. I love the concept of the food stalls. It's like an outdoor food hall. We've tried them all and they're all worth checking out. We also love Leah & Louise and Wentworth & Fenn. There is tons of outdoor seating in different areas. The food stalls have their own seating. There's a bunch of tables across from Leah & Louise. There are fire pits and more seating by Hex Coffee. There is parking at each entrance too. It's a fun place to walk around and explore. If you're looking to take pictures or just explore, come in the morning. It's really quiet and there aren't many people around. This is one of my favorite places in Charlotte! Definitely check it out. read more

HELLO perfect social distance hang out spot!! I had been hearing great things about Camp North End and never made it until I was invited my couple friends for a social distance double date. They were having an event when we went and there were lots of people but mostly all were in compliance with the mask signs posted throughout the grounds. We spent sometime walking & looking around at the different venues and graffiti art. There was also a DJ in one area since this was the reveal of the CHARLOTTE Mural. I also found a good number of black owned businesses which is always a plus! **Couple places to check out in Camp North End that I know of:** The Charlotte mural (I believe this changes so not sure how long it will be there) Leah & Louise ( I haven't been but I've heard amazingly great things about it) Plant Joy (Haven't been bc it's fairly new but it looks amazing!!) Black Moth Bar ( This is the little Airstream in the Boileryard area... the drinks are amazing!!) The Boileryard area is where I've found to be the area where live music often occurs and often where I find black artistry. Roam around the grounds and come back often as they are always adding new venues!! read more

Camp Northend to a native Charlottean has seen a definite glow up. I remember as a kid this being just a bunch of abandon warehouses and buildings. Today was my first visit and visually it's phenomenal. There is still a lot of work to be done but it's going in the right direction. We only stayed on the side that houses the 3 food stalls (La Caseta, Saru, and Bleu Barn Bistro). There wasn't may people around so it made social distancing easy. One employee told me that it's a different story on the weekends. We drove around from the Graham St. side to the Statesville Rd. side and there is a lot of businesses to explore and check out. Phenomenal food and beer selections in a funky artsy atmosphere! Loved my visit here!! The Keswick casual restaurants are La Caseta, Saru and Bleu Barn. The food is wonderful at all three. The beer at Free Range is good, they're doing to go currently because of covid19. The graffiti art is fantastic!! And they have more stores I haven't visited yet--Pop Bar, Hex coffee, Leah & Louise. They look amazing. The location was a former factory and they made special vehicles for the Korean war. The majority of the places are outside or have takeout. They have cool benches and swings too. Lots of potential. So there's a ton of space to explore here, dozens of acres. There's places stemming from gelato, bakery, a plant store, to t shirt stores, a Co. working space, wine bars, and even small food stands- you can expect lots of DJ's in the varying parts of this vast repurposed space that was once warehouses and train tracks. The only thing is it's hot in the summer and so you can imagine it's not pleasant to be walking around trying to find food or drink. I'd like to come back in the winter and explore- it was also disappointing that sooooo many stalls just were empty or closed for business on a Friday night at 6pm... anyway- there's also an outdoor space for kids to play with large legos and hammocks and some areas have misters! read more

We took the Friday free tour of the camp. It was a half hour. It starts at the base of the tower and ends at the food vendors. Our tour guide was passionate about loving her job and helping transform the Camp into what it is intended to be! We were able to learn about the crew that makes the camp what it is along with taking in the old model T factory. As much as I am a graffiti fan, seeing inside the building was by far my favorite part of the tour. The building still has the wooden pieces on the floor placed for safety while they were making ammo during the war. The smell of an old building still permeates. It's sad to think that such changes will be made to a building with such history but it's better to be reused than demolished. We learnt about how the graffiti is the artist to change but will never be taken down by the camp. We heard about future plans as this is a 20 year project! Overall, the camp is a cool place tok grab dinner but even better to learn about how it has come to be and what it used to be. read more

Incredible revival of a beautiful, huge space. There is something for everyone here. Regardless of the season, there is something curated for adults or children. Tons of great food vendors as well as little shopping markets and breweries. There are often amazing free events on the weekend and they use the stage for concerts as well. I love hanging out with groups around the fire pits or on the swings while we enjoy drinks. Love it here!!! The food from the Mexican place right near the pictures I took was amazing. We all got Papusas and they come with tomato sauce and some slaw. They were pretty quick with getting the food ready and into our mouths! The setting is really artistic and a lot of cool murals and amazing plants everywhere. I really like the concept but even though it is very spacious we did not really find much to do besides food wise. Other than that it was a cool place to visit while in this city! read more

What a cool and artsy concept, this place! It's such a unique stop that I think not too many people know about! From the recycled decor to the variety of food trucks, etc., it's really a hidden gem!!! Went here for these donuts everyone had been talking about. They have a variety of donuts. Some interesting flavors we tried some of the basic ones. We tried the Apple fritter and the vanilla glazed donut. The price was very reasonable they were $3-$4. They take cards and cash. Not great at all! I had the arepas filled with pork and the Argentinian Empanadas. Flavors were not just there. The meat in the empanada was dry and overcooked. The pork in the arepas lack seasoning. This place was great!!!! So I am fairly new to the area and wanted to try something different so I seen that a meetup group was doing an event here and decided to meet with some new people to check it out. Where do I start !??? This place was definitely not what I was expecting! Since we are in a pandemic and social distancing is a must - the venue was pretty much outside. People were very respectful of space, they had wine bars/beer spots that you could walk up to and order a drink- it was great! They had live music playing-people walking around just having a good time. This place is mainly (I'm guessing) an old camp site that got converted into a "social district" with plenty of restaurants/ bars/ food trucks that you could walk up to and order food and drinks. They take cards at most places (actually cards was probably the preferred method of payment). And just when I thought I walked the entire venue - someone let me know that there was other restaurants/music on the other side! There was more than enough parking - you could either get to the place on the street or in the back on somewhat of a gravel road. Either way- this place was unexpected and pretty dope!!!! We love Camp North End! Our favorite time to go is Friday nights during the warm months for "Friday Nights at Camp North End". The music is usually really good and the whole set up is extremely dog and family friendly. They typically have at least two food trucks, which gives you options. Also there's a beverage station if you want to buy on site. The prices are reasonable given that they have zero competition. We often bring our own drinks in a cooler so we save some money and skip the (sometimes long) line. They have really nice trailer bathrooms now during Friday Nights at Camp North End, which is a very nice option compared to typical portajohns. The only thing I think they need to change is they need more handicap parking spots. Considering they have probably enough space for 100 cars, the 4 handicap spots seems a bit slim. We came with my mom who was temporarily disabled due to a recent surgery and all the handicap spots were taken even early on in the evening. read more

Camp Northend is perfect for social distancing, you can get food, coffee, cocktails and find a seat somewhere secluded and enjoy some fresh air. Every visit I always see photographers because it is a great backdrop for urban photos. There are a few shops to peruse, but limited hours and weekdays it is frankly a ghost town, which totally works when you want to be alone with your thoughts. It also has newly paved streets for wheels and exercising. There is a 25 year plan, I can't wait to see what unfolds. The food stalls are limited, but I would eat at every one of them, it is an eclectic small group, so somehow it works. Food stall space is growing too! I would follow them on social media because they are always planning something fun, before the pandemic they were doing dinners, definitely looking forward to dinners in vacant warehouses again. Recently they had an interactive art show and holiday craft stalls. DEC 2020- There are holiday photo ops and don't bother looking for the goats, they have been moved for the Winter. A solid four stars with the future of an easy five stars. Camp North End is a concept that creates a great outdoor experience with eclectic shops and restaurants however, the layout is a little wonky. I think with time the spread between areas will be filled with vendors and this will be an even more enjoyable experience. I loved the graffiti art, camper trailers that were converted into little shops, the tremendous outdoor seat (especially during Covid) and a short walk lead you to a handful of restaurants ranging from burgers to popsicles. My group and I sampled a number of plates from several food vendors and everything we ate was awesome. We finished the night outside the craft cocktail trailers just under the water tower with some amazing drinks. The only downside to CNE is the neighborhood is a little rough. It's coming around but we were approached by one guy begging and another guy decided to park himself near the food court seating area and start yelling and cursing about random things. I had my younger son with me so I was a little more sensitive to that than I would be normally. read more

Camp north end is a venue for everyone that didn't know. It appears to be a bunch of abandoned warehouses that the city of Charlotte turned into a miscellaneous venue. Today I had the opportunity of visiting the Van Gogh interactive exhibit! Even though this wasn't what I was expecting when I bought my tickets I was pleased. It was a mixture of Van Gogh'a art with a modern spin. They enforced the 6 feet rule and had designated seating areas. The event took about 30 minutes and you could rewatch. I've been told the exhibit was extremely hot from other participants that visited previously, but luckily they had a lot of AC blowing. The venue itself wasn't anything special. read more

I absolutely love this place. It's whimsical and very earthy. Perfect scenary for date night. I didn't know alot about the area is was recommended to me by a coworker. This is a good hangout with friend and family. Make sure you wear some comfortable walking shoes, don't be me and head in some jeans and boots. Most of these is outdoors so be prepared to walk in the scorching sun, may be carry a bottle of water if you allergic to the 12PM sun. This place has lots to offer for the charlotte happening crowd, arts, flower shops like those nursery but you gotta be prepared to explore this place thoroughly. I didn't check this place out before i headed out and once i got there i realized i wasn't dressed for the situation or was prepared. I am already Tan by birth and do not want to be more tan so i would have taken some umbrella or suns-cream or may be went some easy clothing like shorts and sleeveless. Although i didn't enjoy my trip here as much, i did see the potential this place has to offer. You can well spend a day here with friend and families. Y'all. I have a new favorite hangout in Charlotte and it's not even open yet! I am so head over heels in love with Camp North End and the developers' dedication to preserving the history of such an amazing spot. Originally a factory for Model T cars, then an assembly location for Hercules missiles during the world wars, and most recently a Rite-Aide distribution center, the 75-acre property just oozes history. I had the privilege of attending a Creative Mornings Charlotte event (the speaker was Harvey Gantt, also all kinds of awesome) at Camp North End this morning and am telling you... Mark my words... This place is going to change the game in Charlotte. A gathering place that respects the local neighborhoods, community personality, and history. What a novel concept for a city that seems ready to tear down old spots for new, shiny condos or apartments at the drop of a hat! I can't wait to hang out here this summer in the beautiful, outdoor courtyard area with sweeping views of the uptown skyline when they start hosting gatherings with food trucks, pop up shops, etc. Drop a pin at this spot, folks! Finally got a chance to check out this place. It's really cool. Easy to find parking and the weather was beautiful and warm so walking around the campus was nice. The layout is eclectic and funky. We went to Free Range and Noda Canteen for drinks. Plenty of outdoor seating and fresh air! I got a frozen mimosa from Free Range and also saw they had a nice variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic beers available for purchase in the can. We got the Red Sangria from Noda Canteen that came with a paper straw, which I thought was cool. Will return to explore more. read more

Camp North End was so dope!! Great atmosphere, I felt completely inspired by the art work and local shops!! Skateboarders skating, the aroma of good food, music in the air and a full moon!! Great place to take some cool pics and shop at the local shops. Camp North is located in an African American community and they recognize the history of the area and it felt good to see local black owned businesses and artistry!! I got to CNE kind of late (around 9pm), so some of the stores we closed. I immediately followed on IG and will visit them next time. Camp North End is pretty big, so we just explored around. Man oh man is this place cool! I really like what's going on out at Camp North End! From what I've seen and heard, Camp North End has been a "development labor of love" over the past few years, transforming some truly remarkable historical industrial buildings into equally remarkable repurposed multi use buildings. Whether you're sitting, grabbing a bite to eat at the open air food court, soaking in all the character like those gorgeous railroad tracks grown over with greenery, or if you're walking from building to building just admiring the size of it all, the one common element you'll see is a respect for preservation and a sense of history. Sure, it's got a ways to go but there are so many great places open or opening soon _ La Caseta, Saru by Bow Ramen, Bleu Barn, Leah and Louise, Popbar, Chop and Chisel, and even a new Free Range Brewing location. Add to that Dining and Drink Pop Ups and Food Trucks. The area is really starting to hit it's stride and draw lots of positive attention. I see this place really blowing up soon (in a good way - LOL). With extensive parking around the perimeter, when more things are up and running, you could easily spend a whole evening out here. read more

Such a neat space. A friend invited me out because we hadn't been here and I loved it. Just a laid back atmosphere to hang out. Friends, families, food trucks. Great place to BYOB to kick back and people watch. Inside are games and more board games. Outside there's giant Jenga and Connect Four. So what is Camp North End? An industrial park with event space and a few small businesses. There are giant tire swings for the kids, food trucks for everyone, and a live band. An art gallery was celebrating its one year anniversary with a DJ. Also very pet friendly. Lots of dogs everywhere, large and small.
