My wife read an article by step out buffalo about this place and once she gets a bug about something i never hear the end of end of it. Husbands, you know what I'm saying. We came on a Saturday at about 11:30am. We were told the wait would be twenty minutes, and they would come get us. We waited outside at picnic tables, and they came to get us. I ordered a platter of everything delicious, covered in gravy, my all time breakfast go-to. My wife ordered a breakfast grilled cheese. And we got an order of the campfire logs to share. Our waitress was awesome, we couldn't decided between blueberry and strawberry for the logs so she offered to surprise us. WE GOT A COMBO OF BOTH!!! What an angel lady!!! I cannot even explain how delicious everything was. Even my wife's breakfast grilled cheese was bangin, and a breakfast sandwich doesn't usually impress me. I am going to have dreams about the campfire logs- it's like stuffed French toast, in a pizza log form. The strawberry ones were the bomb. Seriously. So my two friends got their food after waiting 20 minutes. I got my simple order 15 minutes later and they forgot the bacon. that took another 15 minutes. I got a container so i could get the Heck out of there. I had only 1 cup of coffee by the time they got back to me for the re-fill i wanted to leave. And Every time I go it's freezing. The only thing was quick in there was getting seated. The hostess was awesome and she was the one that ended up bringing me the bacon. and I left quickly. Had a delicious breakfast here! My parents made sure they took me right here upon returning from college since they have recently made this a regular place of theirs. Lots of options here. Got a huge breakfast (the lumberjack) and really enjoyed every part of it. I made sure to get a specialty pancake flavor in place of the plain pancakes this meal comes with, and I highly recommend others do this as well. They have a great selection of different tasty pancakes that all seem to be awesome. They also had great homemade syrup. The restaurant had a very cozy feel to it and the staff was very friendly. Absolutely delightful. This is a family run business inspired by a love of camping, incorporating campfire style foods into their menu. One of the things I like most about this place was the unique style which led to superior quality of service. Rather than giving you one waiter who took your order and took care of you the entire time, it was a family affair. I was seated by one individual, asked for beverage by another, had my order taken by a third, and was brought my food by a team of two the moment it was ready in the kitchen. Sitting at a table near the door, I had a prime view of the kitchen staff at work in this open counter facility. That's how I knew my food came out the instant it was ready rather than having to wait for my waiter to come back and find it. I don't know how they wrote notes to each other, but it was flawless from start to finish. It also seems like this routine give them time to all check in with regulars. I counted quite a few excited greetings as food reach the table carried by different waitstaff. Speaking of, the s'mores pancake was delicious. They baked marshmallows and chocolate chips into the batter, along with laying them on top. It led to many layers of delectable pancake, which had a whipped cream smile for extra flair. This is definitely diner food, so don't come expecting a fancy three course meal. There will be paper on the table along with decorative lanterns to aid the camping theme. If they don't have a table for you, you can sit at the bar, where you will also get full service. Besides the pancake I had the biscuits and gravy. Being from the south it was a little less quantity of gravy than I was used to, the quality of the gravy and sausage chunks in it was very good. I'm wavering between four and five stars. I know this is not the best breakfast joint I've ever been to, but it's definitely high on the list. It is one I would travel to and for, which part of the criteria. We waited 10 minutes while all of the employees stared at us, didn't greet us or say anything to us. We got ignored and stared at for 10 minutes. When the hostess decided to finally actknowledge us we were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait. She could have told us this when we came in, instead of every single employee there ignoring us and WAITING TO TELL US IT WAS GOING TO BE ALMOST AN HOUR WAIT. There were about 6 plus tables open, a bunch of people had finished their food and left and we couldn't get a table for almost an hour? After a 70 minute wait, when we finally got seated and we could see what the issue was. Completely inefficient system manufactured an excessively long wait for a table. There's only one out of the staff of six who can take orders, even over the phone, apparently. The chicken had been marinated in liquid containing *not a little* sugar and sweet chicken is awful. No Greek flavors to be had. It was otherwise tasteless, limp, and wet. No feta cheese. Lots of butter and lots of their (delicious!!!) homemade apple cinnamon sauce helped. And the sausage links he got on the side were yummy. Oh my gosh! Where to start? The ambiance is perfect. Our son commented that he felt like he was camping. The menu has so many amazing options we didn't even know where to start! Our son got the kids pancake - shaped like Mickey Mouse and added chocolate chips with a side of sausage links. My husband got the seasonal special apple caramel griddle toast logs and I got the strawberry griddle logs. Both were amazing. I did prefer the strawberry as they had the sweet and tart flavors going on. We also got a side of bacon and potatoes. The potatoes were some of the best breakfast potatoes I've had. This is definitely one of my favorite breakfast places!!! I came here this past Sunday with five other friends. Our reservation was for 10:30. I mixed up the time and thought it was for 10:00am. She was able to seat us at a huge round table, within 10 minutes. (The rest of the crew--three others--came between 10:25 and 10:40.) I ordered coffee. It was really good. I had a bit of a headache and was really tired so I needed something interesting and tasty. I ended up ordering one chocolate and peanut butter cup pancake. The whipped cream and sauce was in the shape of a smiley face. That really made my day. I also ordered a garbage plate. It was a bit pricy but definitely worth it. It took longer than the rest of my friends' food but the owner/cook came out to apologize. It was DEFINITELY worth the wait!!! I forgot to take a picture of that part of the menu but I think it was a pancake with syrup on it, huge chunks of potatoes, an omelette, country gravy, and other stuff on top. It made me so happy!!! Many different people helped out at our table throughout the order with bringing out food and refilling coffee. They made the whole experience worthwhile and great. This restaurant definitely gets 5/5 stars because of the great customer service and food. (Those things definitely outweigh the small, busy parking lot.) Okay, it's a greasy spoon class diner in an industrial area. And....it's a serious eats emporium with a 30 minute wait for seating on a Sunday morning unless you're willing to sit at the counter - where the action is. This hustling, bustling place serves up the real deal from hot cakes, B&G, traditional eggs & omelettes to somewhat exotic basted eggs over salmon, spinach & tomato on an English muffin topped with hollandaise. They also boast 'real crab' as an option in many items. I counted 5 kitchen staff, 3 hostesses, one guy filling takeout orders and at least 5 wait staff all switching up to serve customers in a remarkably efficient manner. The phone rings off the hook with orders and reservations. I am truly impressed. The food (Salmon Benedict) was excellent though the hollandaise was beginning to separate slightly. That's more of a cosmetic issue that doesn't impact taste/flavor. I was sad I didn't have enough room to finish them but am taking them home. I rarely take home breakfast food. If I had to say one thing sort of didn't measure up was the cinnamon role pancakes. I was visiting Buffalo early in the morning and had the time to spend having breakfast. I checked the reviews and Campfire Grill looked good so we checked it out. To begin with the restaurant itself is totally adorable! They have cloth table coverings with paper on the top in a mix of hunter green and white. The decor brings to mind Adirondack camping with all the bells and whistles. My favorite decorative pieces were the hobo pie maker and the toast maker for the fire. Each table has a little circle of wood with a lantern and the salt and pepper, so as a camper I was quickly charmed. Our server was very nice and since we were there during a midweek morning we caught some of the banter with the cast of regulars. Going out for breakfast is not my thing, so I'm a hard sell. Food has to be perfect, because in my mind breakfast food should be pretty easy (trust me, I know I'm probably wrong- I don't cook breakfast either). As it turns out I can see the intricacies of breakfast food. We went for eggs, breakfast potatoes and toast with a side of fruit. The potatoes were the stand out, chunky red potatoes sautéed with onions and spices were a change up from your traditional home fries or hash browns found on your typical diner plate. No egg fan would like their eggs the same way that I do- scrambled hard- and typically as a result they come out wrong, not the case here- my overdone eggs came out perfect. My sister and I decided to try this place out Saturday afternoon. I've heard so many people say how wonderful it was. We had no idea they close at 3pm. Just figured they'd close at 8 or 9 (never assume). Being diabetic, for me, it was hard to order something that would be healthy for me, but I was more in a "the heck with it" mindset for that. It was very hard to resist the cinnamon roll pancakes. I ordered the Kodiak Burger with baked beans and my sister got the Badger Burger with fries. Both were out of this world yummy and the perfect size for lunch. When we got there, the menu was so cleverly written and with so many options, it took us a little time to decide. Our waiter Ryan was fantastic! He gave us ideas for what to order, provided some friendly not over the top attention which is always appreciated. However, while we were deciding, one of the cooks came out and rudely told us to speed it up and get our order in. A bit embarrassing to say the least. A few of the wait staff came over and apologized. Ryan apologized several times. I was also a bit embarrassed that we didn't know that the restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch. Lesson learned. We definitely want to go back, but probably a little less closer to closing time. Ryan assured us we were fine; that they stop seating at 2:30 and we got there a bit ahead of that, so the cook was out of line. I opted on giving this review less than 5 stars because of that, but the food and service otherwise were amazing, and didn't want to have the one flaw outshine the good. It's a small casual place with dated furniture and paper table covers. The line is ALWAYS long so I suggest calling ahead to see how long of a wait. They used to allow you to call ahead and have your name added. Perhaps they still do ...so give it a try. The breakfast is great and huge. My mother always opts for. Lumberjack platter that she can NEVER finish. I usually get the crunchy french toast, which is coated in oats before cooking. They taste great ! The staff is very friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to try. Heck one day I let the waitress order lunch for me .. They have great burgers, fresh cut french fries and some awesome french toast logs On Fridays they offer a fish fry if you like Cod. We ALWAYS manage to leave with leftovers. read more

I finally got around to taking my wife here after driving by it several times, seeing the reviews on yelp, and hearing from several people how good it was. I have to say, I am impressed and will be returning. We ordered a couple of biscuits and gravy as a side to try and share. They were excellent! Lauren ordered an omelette that she could barely finish and I had a campfire turkey sandwich with coleslaw and mustard. I went, no-cheese, but it tasted great anyways. It was a menu recommendation by our server and I'll totally be ordering it again. The restaurant is decently sized but there was a 40 minute wait when we went on a Saturday afternoon. There are a few large round tables that are good for families and large parties. They do use a web based wait system so we were able to hangout and see how much longer it was until we were seated.
