I live about 100 miles away and we were able to get most everything but signing paperwork, dropping off trade in, and picking up trailer over phone or online. When we got there some things that were not anticipated with my trade in might have tanked the deal but they kept to their offer and we were back on the road home with new trailer in a few hours. This is directed to the service department. Scheduler was rude, I understand that they are busy and have long wait times, but there was no customer service performed during that part of the visit. The team doing the work didn't do quality work, I had to go back more than once to get the same thing repaired. One of the repairs still doesn't work correctly and I was told that because it is after the warranty period they won't look at it. Even though they "repaired" it during the the warranty period. It's not my fault they were backlogged almost 6months for appointments. We purchased our trailer from Camping World as we were told they have the "Best service department in the Industry", if this is the best I'd sure hate to see what the worst is. To top it off whoever was moving my Unit around with the fork lift bent the foot on the jack, and who knows what other damage was done when that happened. I reached out to my service writer about the incident and received no response. The jack was slammed on the ground, they didn't even have the courtesy to put it back on the blocks I initially had underneath it. They also didn't even have the common courtesy to wipe the muddy footprints out of my unit from where they walked inside it to repair the bunk. 10/10 will never purchase another unit through them, and will only deal with them if I absolutely have no other option. read more

Took my 2021 gmc dully in today for a charge line installed. My appointment was at 9am and was told it be around 200.00 to install the one line to my six way receptacle. I sat there till 10 am and they finally took my truck back into the shop. 45 minutes later, my final bill was 258.01. 199.00 labor, 10.00 for a fuse, 39.80 for shop supplies, and 9.21 for environmental fees. When i asked what shop supplies were, i was told shop rags and electricity. Shop rags to run one wire. Strange. Never going back there. read more

We bought a new Rockwood Geo-Pro, and the staff at Camping World was great. Our salesperson, Dave Roberts, took the time to ask questions ensuring the camper we were looking at was a good fit for us. Dave has a lot of experience with camping so him sharing his personal experiences with us was extremely helpful. Joe was the technician who explained all the systems and features in the trailer and who also installed the hitch system. We could not have gotten a better technician. Joe was awesome. Stopped in on Friday looked at 2 models were ready to make a deal but took too long we got there at 1pm but by the time they got things rolling banks closed. They said "we'll call you Monday" after pulling my information. Then waited all day Monday to say oh by the way the banks are closed. It is now Tuesday they have pulled all my information since last Friday and no call whatsoever on Tuesday. Not even an update or a hey we want a deal. Horrifically poor service. We bought a travel trailer from this business and paid for delivery. When it arrived, it had been damaged since the walk through. There was a broken window that they had not disclosed. The black and gray tanks were full. When we went to clean it we found dirty diapers and trash. When I brought this to management repeatedly, nothing. No repairs, no interest in making it right at all, just hand off from one sales guy to the next. Don't buy from them, don't sell to them. DO NOT BUY FROM CAMPING WORLD! DO NOT BUY DUTCHMEN TRAILERS! We live in Beaverton Oregon. We purchased a brand new 16 foot Dutchmen Coleman (2019) during the summer of 2018. We made the purchase at Camping World in Hillsboro, Oregon. In November 2018, wood paneling (two large pieces) by the queen bed came loose. They were re-installed under warranty at that time. But two years later one of the panels busted loose again and now they say it is no longer covered by warranty. Now this isn't some fluke part going bad. This is bad glue or a faulty way of securing the panels. Camping World wasn't giving me any re-assurance that I won't have to pay for the same repair every two years. And I shouldn't have the burden of bringing my trailer in for the same repair every two years. The following statement regarding installations can be found on Camping World's website under, RV & Camper Service & Repair - "Workmanship Guarantee: Workmanship on installations is guaranteed as long as you own your vehicle." Instead of a warranty issue this should have been a customer service issue. Apparently, Camping World thought the $80+ dollars was most important. I'm not one that likes to be in a pickle. So I wanted to wait till I took my rig out before I wrote a review. I have an old school 1990 Toyota Odyssey that needs some maintenance work. Wanted to pass on the work and my findings: 1. New door lock: That worked perfectly. Thank you. 2. New House Water Inlet Valve: Leaked all over the place when filling my onboard water supply. It helps if you actually put the hose back on the inlet. I was able to fix before I went out as I was boondock camping. 3. New City Water Supply: Since the above leaked like crazy, I also checked this out. Minor leaks and was able to fix up with tape and ensuring clamps were tight. 4. Leaking Gray Water Tank: Doesn't leak as bad but still leaks. I'm not taking back as I can fix it myself easier and probably better. 5. Service Department Customer Service: Not that impressed. Service lady was OK but literally no interaction at drop off. Not personable at all. Please, when you work for a company, look your customer in the eyes and sell your service. We are all in customer service. I really wasn't impressed at all. I know my RV is old school and needs TLC, but I expected all to work out of the block, not having to fix stuff as I went. Being said, would I use them again? Maybe as the Good Sam discounts and Veteran Discounts are great, but when I do decide to buy my forever RV, I'm pretty sure it won't be with Camping World. read more

We had a good experience buying our camper trailer at this dealership. Our salesman, Mike Davis, was really friendly and fun. They had both of the two different trailers we were interested in side by side and it made comparisons super easy and we were able to purchase exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately the wrong size mattress was in the camper and it took six weeks for the new one to ship from the factory. It's no fault of the team at camping world because in the end, the service department delivered with a brand new heated mattress. I would fully recommend shopping here for your next RV. read more

On June 30, 2022, I purchased an 18ft camper. Unfortunately, this is a horrible place. My experience with Camping World at "6503 SE Alexander ST" was a nightmare. Pros: none Cons: 1) Financial manager Geffery (This is how he spelled it, not with J) made sure to express his displeasure with me paying cash. He told me to get the loan and pay it off later. But who would do that when you can pay in cash? When I told him "no," he became very rude. And he made sure I paid for it. I didn't get my plate and the title for over 2months. The reason was that he had never mailed the paper for over a month. At the same time, he only gave me one week's worth of temporary paper plates. 2) My salesperson Frank and the rest of the people were very dishonest and discriminatory. For example, I went to pick up my camper after they told me it was 100% ready. However, they removed the cover for my utility and had it covered with see-through plastic. The mechanics, technicians, Frank, and the sales manager told me it was my fault because the cover was never there when I purchased it. How ridiculous! After their lie didn't work, they told me it was stolen. It went on and on. They refused to take responsibility, even though my camper parked in their shop for 2 days. They knew I could do nothing about it since I had to leave for California for work the next day. Finally, I threatened to call the police since it was "stolen." Only then did they decide to replace it with a piece of metal, and Tyler promised to order a new part and mail me a $400 check. If I didn't pay in cash and if I'm not an Asian- American, I would not have been treated this way. They put me in agony and wasted a lot of my time until I got the plate and the title. The actual purchasing of the camper was great. Service is absolutely horrendous! I even purchased an extended warranty and some additional services. They do not return calls even after multiple messages. It may take 3-4 days for them to get back to you while your camper is unusable! Once they do schedule you it may take a week or more to get the repair done. That is if they get it done right. I have had to bring my trailer back because they did not repair it correctly the first time. I am going through that experience again. My camper is just over a year old and under warranty. I would recommend them in a heartbeat if I had other options for service. But since these are warranty repairs, I am stuck with very, very poor service. I would stay away from this place. read more

At the Portland RV show my husband and I sat down with Joe to seriously discuss buying a specific RV. Not long into the conversation both my husband and I were feeling uncomfortable with how aggressively he was pushing us. When trying to politely exit the meeting he continually raised his voice towards us saying what a mistake we were making and how stupid we were being, yes he used that word exactly. Now over a month after he is continuing to text my husband after being asked to stop. Throwing out subtle insults about how the issue is we can't afford the rv. We can in fact afford it but have chosen to support a different business that will treat us with more respect. This company does not care about the customer... STAY AWAY!!! In 2021 I purchased a brand new Heartland Mallard travel trailer. Upon getting it home I found several issues. The stairs to the entry lift inside the trailer. There were two rust stains on the floor that were hidden by two pieces of remnant carpet. The light inside the bathroom had no lens cover and the sink had no stopper. The freezer above the refrigerator had no shelves for the door. I contacted the Hillsboro team and got the run around. I was handed off to three different employees. Its been two years and I still have not received those parts. Two of the three slide outs leak when it rains! The second day I had it home I woke up to find about 30% of the carpet in the bedroom was flooded. I had to wait five days for them to send someone to fix the leak that was coming from the bathroom. Thats five days with no running water... UNACCEPTIBLE!!! I feel like my $55,000 dollar investment was the biggest mistake of my life! Worst part is I was warned by two other former customers not to buy from CAMPING WORLD... I should have listened!!! read more

So happy I came here!!! My Wife and I had been in the market for a trailer for the last year or so but trying to find the right place was very difficult! We visited Curtis Trailer (very rude and pushy) and also Johnson RV (again, pushy) finally found Camping World in Hillsboro and had an amazing experience! From the time we were treated by the receptionist all the way thru are signing of paperwork in finance, this was truly a great, fun experience! I also would like to give a extra "good job" to Jake Jones in the finance department as he defiantly went above and beyond to make sure all of our questions were answered and helped us pick out the best protections for our trailer and made sure it still fit in our budget in a very fun professional way! I saw the RV I wanted on their website, but I wasn't going to be moving to Portland for about a month. Pat Thompson the internet manager told me that they would hold it for me. They did! I came in when I said I would and it looked like what I thought it would. With the minimal credit that I had established Jason the finance manager really went to bat for me to find me a bank that not only would approve me, but gave me a really good rate as well! All in all a simple few day process for delivery and financing approval. I just slept in my new 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 23RB for the first time last night and honestly for the price I paid I feel that I truly got the better end of this deal. I feel like a king in here! Sorry to say, but I understand and commiserate with several Yelp reviewers regarding their negative experiences with the service department here. There were definitely some positives, but the negatives, unfortunately, far out weighed them. I had an issue with the female service representative at the Camping World on the east side of Portland who was sadly lacking ANY customer service skills, so I informed her boss (the Service Manager) who also seemed to care less. After talking to their General Manager, he was quite proactive, helping me to get an appointment at the Hillsboro location because they could not squeeze me in for almost two months. The Service Manager at this location, Chris/Cris/Kris (not sure of the spelling - I will call him Kris), was very professional, assisting me with several warranty issues on our trailer that very same day. Unfortunately, his service rep (Robyn), just like at the other location, had more than a bit of a chip on her shoulder. I let is slide after dropping our Jayco trailer off, chalking it up to just "a bad day". She promised me that the trailer would be returned to me on Tuesday (6/26), but as the 26th quickly approached, I had not received any updates on their progress or lack thereof. We have the RV on the market and several potential buyers wanted eagerly to see it on the 26th, but I was told (on the 25th) that it could take up to 2-3 weeks to get approval from the manufacturer, order the parts, and make the needed repairs. I told them "not gonna happen, wouldn't be prudent", so Kris told me that he would put a rush on it and get our RV back to me by the end of the week. He kept his promise, but by then I had lost two buyers who decided to buy someone else's trailers because they could not see mine. The straw that broke the camel's back was Robyn and her unprofessional attitude when picking-up the trailer. I had to wait 20+ minutes while she finished her lunch or whatever she was doing, then she copped an attitude when I tried to ask her some questions about the charges and repairs. After asking her a couple of questions which she apparently failed to comprehend, giving me answers that had nothing to do with my questions, I told her "never mind, you obviously were not listening to my questions". Rather than apologizing and trying to actually answer my questions, she snapped back at me, telling me that I was not willing to listen to her (inadequate responses). I told her to work on her customer service skills and to give me the keys to my RV so I could leave. I ended up paying $275 for repairs/services that should have been covered under Jayco's infamous "2-year warranty", $100 to make a simple repair on a battery cable because the dealer I bought it from had cross-threaded the nut on the negative terminal and another $175 to drain the black/grey tanks (just like previous negative Yelp reviews) because they would not drain properly due to defective valves. I appreciate the fact that Kris was able to squeeze me in on short notice, but the delay in getting my RV back, loss of two obviously motivated buyers, $275 in charges for warranty work, and the customer service representative's total lack of customer service acumen left a very bad taste in my mouth. Final update, 2020: I have sold the RV, and am no longer needing to get service here - so I no longer fear reprisal for my review. I can honestly say without any hesitation that this service department was the worst service experience I have ever had with any kind of vehicle. Nothing ever improved. Their customer service was terrible throughout, their professionalism was non-existent, and their skill/capability was below adequate. I can not advise you enough that it is my opinion you should stay far away from this business. ------ Update December 2018: still have problems. The customer service here is terrible (and I am stuck with them because it's who my "warranty" is through). All of my experiences have been described below or are the same as other negative reviews. They just never get any better hOne noteworthy thing to add is each of these negative reviews gets a comment from Camping World corporate - which gives the appearance that they are taking care of us. However when we contact the corporate representatives they do nothing at all - so don't put much stock in those seemingly supportive responses... ------ Update December 2017: it's getting worse, not better. Bought a new camper they tried to up the price higher 2 times after they already gave me a set price over the phone with "no hidden costs" I refused to pay more than agreed upon. The trailer I bought had several broken things I didn't notice because I didn't look close enough but they knew it was all broken and never told me.. it was only after I left and got driving down the highway and saw the fender flipping in the wind that I pulled over and turned around. I got back to camping world Hillsboro and showed them and found two broken doors also. the parts ordering guy said these parts had been ordered already but no one told me there was anything wrong with the trailer. Then I got It home and noticed one of leveling jacks was broken ( bad motor) the parts did eventually come in over a month later but they ordered the wrong color doors.... Very hard to get a response very little communication. Don't ignore reviews. I never complain but in this case I am making an exception as I'm still being screwed around.
