Found an in stock RV on the Vacaville website. I submitted a request for additional information and even filled out their pre approval credit application online. Received a message saying someone would be in touch with me shortly. Only Email I received was automated asking how I would like to be contacted. I replied with my prefer. First thing this morning (almost 24 hours later) I called. I was told no one reviewed my application cause they were busy. That's ok, I understand places get busy. I was told the RV that was "in stock" they don't actually have and is back ordered until at least September. I was also told the financing supervisor would contact me back soon. A few minutes after getting off the call, I received notice that a hard pull was made on my credit. No call. No email. Here I am end of business day and now have a ding on my credit with absolutely no information regarding my approval-or heck, even if it was denied-some communication would be nice. Being 2 hours away I need open communication-that you definitely won't get from this location. If you're out of town, save time and find something local. read more

I bought a trailer 2 months ago. When I went to pick it up it had damage to the front window, cap and refrigerator hold down. They assured me they would order the new window and touch up paint and call me when it was ready to be installed. After numerous calls to the dealership, and complaints to the manufacturer I got a call today from someone in service at Camping World Vacaville, who did not have any paperwork and asked me what I needed! Welcome to Conning World, where service is a disservice--a trap that will leave you without your RV for months, making payments in return for nothing, and endlessly wasting your time trying to get the repair you were offered--until you decide to give up and start over somewhere else. Stay away! Try Nelson's RV Repair just next door or McColloch's RV Repair in Sacramento. Those small unassuming shops get great reviews on Yelp and Nelson's is very busy with customers that have been failed here. Please allow me to substantiate my claim with personal experience. Skip the lengthy next paragraph if details don't appeal to you. Read it and you will find the extent of incompetence and deceit hard to believe. In February 2014 I made an appointment so my RV would be repaired by summer. Now, at the time of this writing it's five months later--summer is nearly gone and the repair has not been completed. How? The repair was initially "done" in April. That was four weeks later than promised, but at least it was well before summer. However, the repair failed after just three hours of use. The assistant manager took the unit back for inspection, free of charge. It was pleasing to hear they'd stand by their repair because I'd already paid $1,600. In fact, all appearances were pleasing. Everyone was polite and friendly, including the service person, assistant manager and manager. The work was another matter. The work again took several weeks longer than the service person claimed. And this time the excuses grew a bit old because they were the same as the first time: he needed a part, he ordered the wrong part, his tech had to contact the manufacturer for diagnostic help, all the same as last time.... But he promised the unit would be ready for my long-planned trip to Yosemite in May, so I was patient. Then May arrived and the assistant manager told me my unit was still not ready, but I could take it and bring it back after my trip, and then they could finish the repairs. Disappointed, I did as she said. I had another vacation planned in June and she said the unit would be ready by then. But instead the same thing happened: promises and deadlines were replaced by excuses and the unit was not repaired. Now, however, the service person asked me to pay $900--even though the repairs hadn't been finished. He refused to let me take my unit until I paid. This time he said it was company policy that I pay before taking the unit. He then said HIS COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE AND DOESN'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS and that he was only trying to help me. He said the assistant manager was somehow responsible for the unit not being fixed. So now he was blaming his co-worker as well as his employer. Who wants to hear this? He advised me to take the unit elsewhere to have the repairs finished--but only after I paid him! He said this with sincerity. He seemed overwhelmed. Because I refused to pay, he called the manager. The manager apologized. He took me aside and said he was looking to replace the service person. He said that the reason they couldn't fix my unit was that the tech who'd been working on it was having elective surgery and there was nobody available to finish the work. He advised that I go to Stockton or Sacramento to have the work done. Huh? Whoa! This was a completely different story from what the service person claimed. What was the truth? Who knows?! These are the facts: my unit hasn't been repaired, each person blames someone else, and they want me to pay. Wow! I refused to pay. Then the manager offered to have another tech try to finish the repairs. By then my wife was recommending I stop dealing with these people and accept my losses. I wish I'd listened! Now, three weeks after being promised my unit would be ready in a week, it's late July and I am set to go on vacation to Yosemite once more. The tech who was supposed to have surgery is now back at work because, allegedly, his doctor made a mistake and decided he didn't need surgery after all. And neither he nor the new tech have done my repair! They say they need to contact the manufacturer's customer support for guidance. This is exactly the same thing they told me three weeks ago and also two months before that!!! In summary, my RV hasn't been repaired after many months in this shop and $1,600 in payments. They are billing me more for additional work they haven't completed. I am taking my unit elsewhere. Addendum, March 2015: In August of 2014, McColloch's RV Repair in Sac fixed my problem in less than a week. What a difference! They gave me options Conning World never discussed and offered solutions that CW claimed were not feasible. McC's promptly followed through on their promises. The time driving there was much less than the time spent trying to get anywhere with Conning World. Now, seven months later, the repair is still good. First of all you try to buy over inflated products for your camper or R.V. at the stores posted sale prices.You are told at the register that you need to become a $20 dollar member to get the discount , why is that??? Great! Then you are harassed into buying there $100.00 roadside assistance plan.The gal just would not quit grinding on me.I called the manager and was told they could only ask three times for you to buy this insurance.I guess that I was fair game. I think my checker asked 5 or 6 times and seemed very angry with me because I wanted to think about it.She was very condescending .I left feeling very angry and ripped off.Many of the products did not fit and were very over priced .I drove an hour to get there, I will never return. read more

My husband and I went to camping world today to look at RVs. We were informed that we had to be assisted by a representative in order to look. They stopped us at the door and told us this was the policy. Last time we were there, we were approached by a salesman that was very pushy. We thought we would try again, as we live very close. We understand the policy, as some buyers look with several children and can't watch them every minute. We are seniors. As I expressed my opinion upon leaving, the gentleman added a smart remark that was rude. Guess we won't be buying an RV there. I guess they don't value our business. read more

I shopped around a lot for the perfect RV and visited many dealers. I had visited other CW's and even bought one a few years ago from another CW (had a terrible experience trying to buy one from that dealer earlier this month). It was time to buy up and I heard the CW in Vacaville had a good service department so I contacted their sales dept and Sherrie replied to my email and went out of her way to work with me via emails. This CW is a long drive so I wanted to secure some good info before going so I could get it done in one trip. Sherrie supplied everything I needed before hand. When we finally went to look at RVs, Sherrie was busy so we got introduced to Rod. Rod was very patient, positive, happy to show us around, and he is very entertaining. After we picked out the perfect RV we got to meet Sherrie in person and she is super helpful. She stayed with us through the whole process and even bought lunch. She made sure I was completely happy before driving off the lot. The walk through went fantastic and Joe was very knowledgeable and had great tips. He is a great asset to the team. We had an issue with the RV that needed to be resolved before we drove off with the RV and the GM, Phil, came out to meet me and moved things around to get the work done right then. I really felt like Phil was genuinely concerned with my satisfaction. There was going to be a scheduling problem getting my work done on the spot and Cliff Govers stepped up and worked hard to get everything done asap. Cliff demonstrated an outstanding knowledge and work ethic and I will ask for him if I need future service. I would absolutely go back and do the same thing with the same people. Rod and Sherrie made us feel like we were family not just a customer so I would definitely ask for them. And having the GM get involved and assure me personally that everything would be taken care of says a lot of the atmosphere at this CW. read more

What is with this Camping World in Vacaville anyway. Yesterday I called looking for a tire quote and service appointment, was put on hold, then disconnected. I called again, was put on hold and no one ever picked up. I called again, left a message and got no call back. Called again 4 hours later, the person I talked to said they'd have the service or parts department call back. No call. I called again, was told I was third in line for a call back.....really? After all the above calls I'm still third in line???? So, I gave up and called Rocklin and got an immediate answer, talked to parts and talked to service. BTW, I never got a call back from anyone at Vacaville. Don't even bother calling Vacaville Camping World. Like others have said, their Customer Service sucks. Do yourself a favor, drive the extra miles to Rocklin to do your Camping World business. Seems like all they want to do is sell RV's there. I haven't tried, but I'll bet if you call RV sales you'll get someone right away or they will call back pronto. Besides, after all the above, I wouldn't trust them to work on my motorhome anyway. I am a survivor of Paradise wild fires. 9 hours trapped in the middle of town (Safeway) was a piece of cake compared to the purchasing experience we got at Camping world. Here are a few; lied to from the salesman to the general manager. "If you need anything call" NEVER returned. Sales manager took our down payment in her BATHROBE and slippers. 6 weeks after the purchase the oven door exploded. For a $200.00 part they called me and my wife liars (" I will write down your story and see if the company will cover it.") Anza Heathcock service writer was the WORST. I have not received "service" so bad since dealing with the IRS. This woman set up our appointment then went on lunch, still working there she did it again when we picked up our vehicle. Lord knows how long she would have power tripped and made us wait but I said in 30 minutes I am hooking up and leaving passed her smoking in the parking lot. DO NOT buy or service your RV HER Well here I am again, one month later they ordered the WRONG door NOW do not return our calls. (April) It will be clear to our jury that camping world treated us with bad faith. I bought my 2018 Jayco North Point 381FLWS from them in 2018. Since then I've had a number of problems with my RV. Called this place several times and left numerous messages. Never got a call back. Eventually I was able to get in touch with someone. They proceeded to tell me next available appointment is May 2020. Talk about great service. Not a good experience. Bad customer service. My husband and I were getting ready for an upcoming camping trip so we decided to stop in and to get some supplies for our Travel Trailer. They have you greeted at the door, or attacked I should say, by a sales lady who works for that Canyon Creek Resort next to the Berryessa Dam and "gives away" camping trips with the catch that you have to listen to sales seminar. Blah blah. We told her we weren't interested and she demanded to know why. Really? because it's only 20 min away and we would rather get out of town if you know what I mean. That and we read bad reviews recently and we are just not that impressed when we drive by it. We don't want to go!!! Anyways, she got on the defensive with us an to the point were it was insulting. She rudely said in all her years working there that she never heard any bad reviews and she mocked our review sources. It was getting ugly so we just walked away. She made it very uncomfortable for us and I could see, for other customers she was hunting down as well. I understand that she is not directly employed there. Who knows. But if Camping World allows that then they are getting marked down on my review..... Anyway, We found our few over priced items and went to the register to check out. At the register, we weren't greeted. The gal didn't even lift head up to look at us until after my husband argued that yes we do have a Sam's membership. We bought it a couple of weeks ago and we don't know why it's not coming up in your computer under our phone number??? Can't you look it up another way??? So she finds us by name and tells us rudely that we don't have a phone number. Well, that was you guys who entered it when you signed us up a few weeks ago. Obviously, who ever signed us up forgot. Brought our RV in for some repairs and some of the items just not right and when we brought it back they responded right away and went over and above with helping us get our rig back to the way we wanted it. Horrible horrible horrible...do not purchase anything from here!!! My poor mother in law purchased her 5th wheel in dec 2017. Upon delivery in jan 2018 she noticed the front of her brand new 40ft 5th wheel had hundred of chips in the fron of it. Other minor issues leaking window and vent camp up. When she reported it to them, they told her they would pick it up and take care of it all. Nothing happened until we took it to them in aug to have the decal replaced in the front, minor issues fixed and washer dryer installed. They told her and my husband both that they would have it all taken care of in a matter of weeks, it's now mid October. It's been almost 3 months. No one knows what the other is doing down there, no one can tell her when she can pick up her home and no one returns her calls!! At one point she told a manager that she sold her home to travel in this, her new home, and she is waiting for it all to be fixed when she was told that "these rv's were not meant to live in...". Really not what they tell you when you purchase it. Unreal at the lack of customer service once they have your money. Please please share this with anyone. Until our issue is resolved I will share this on all social media possible so no one has to go thru what she has had to go thru. Absolutely unreal!!! read more

I've never felt compelled to write a review, but after experiencing Camping World's policy of wanting all of your information before you can look at RVs, supervised looking at RV policy as well as now reading their numerous poor reviews I've decided to look elsewhere. Unbelievable! I was met up front by a saleswoman who seemed friendly. We exchanged handshakes and she led me to her office Without notice she wants all my personal information before looking at RVs. E.g. Name, address, city, state, email, phone number, etc. She said, "I could possibly win $1000.00." I said, "No thanks." This information can be used for several things. There's no disclaimer about sharing/selling your information of this paper! Beware! I really don't want to be blasted with numerous junk mails, emails and phone calls, After this exchange I wanted to go out to see some RVs by myself. Not sure if I can post without giving a star, but I am going to try. I am diffidently not happy with CW. I placed an order with CW on July 7, 2016. I was told the order would be delivered in two weeks. Today is Sept 6, 2016. Still not done. Wrong part was shipped. This was for a new awning. I also wanted a new top for the slide out. Told they to go ahead and fix the slide out. So at least that would be done. Was told they can't do that it is all one order. I told them to cancel the slide out part of the order and I would make a new order for the slide out. The salesperson Didn't want to do that. Here I am two months later and still don't have my MH fixed. What is a person to do! read more

Before you buy an RV, you gotta see the fabulous folks at Camping World Vacaville. These guys rock! Everyone I dealt with(and I dealt with almost everyone) was absolutely fantastic, extremely helpful and as excited as I was(even if i wasn't showing it) to get my travel trailer. My salesman Chuck was top notch. And, everyone else was extremely supportive as well. I dealt with the sales manager, finance manager, delivery manager, service manager, service technicians, and even the cashiers were very helpful and polite. I made last minute changes, add-ons, etc and all were handled promptly and courteously. I was very specific in the exact vendor and model I wanted, had my own approach to selecting and purchasing my RV, and they didn't even bat an eye. Their ability to recognize my approach as the customer and accommodate was head and shoulders above the 5 other dealerships I worked with that were within driving distance of the east bay. I dealt with SkyRiver, LaMesa RV, JC's RV, and Manteca trailer, besides calling on a few others. It was an obvious and easy pic for me to go with Camping World Vacaville. All the other dealers, pushed their approach, story, and inventory as if they didn't hear a word I was saying. The did not listen...but boy do they want to sell. As a product manager for a high tech company, my expectations of what constitutes good products, services, and customer treatment are pretty high. I left with some takeways from this experience to fold into my own product and services. Nice people, great inventory selection, and a pleasure to do business with. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I"VE EVER EXPERIENCED !!!.........Brought our 2014 Outback in for some cosmetic warranty work (fix blinds, trim loose, cable/sat repair) and then we needed two items done that weren't warranty items. My experience started on 11/20/15- today is 01/26/16 .......That's 70 days or 10 weeks that they have had our trailer. Just like others have experienced I have placed multiple phone calls to the service department with no return calls. Two weeks ago I had to drive an hour from my house to look somebody in the eyes and demand what the Hell is going on with my trailer. First they said the work was all done, but after reviewing the work order that was not the case. They stated that the warranty work was done, but the additional work was not because they said my wife called and cancelled the work (obviously not true). After all that, they said they were waiting on a part. After putting a little verbal pressure on them I made them go get the parts guy. WOW !! low and behold the part has been sitting in the work bay for awhile. "We will put his out for immediate dispatch"......Didn't happen.......So now today 01/26/15 I will enroute to RESCUE OUR TRAILER work done or not !!............ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!! People don't bring your trailer to these CORPORATE PIGS !!! Support the little guy, bring the honest guy your $$$$ Not these blundering, unprofessional Idiots they call the service department. I do not recommend anyone to bring their RVs/Trailers here for service. The service is terrible and appalling. In late December of 2020, I purchased a travel trailer there. A couple of weeks later, I informed them that the axle and tires that were installed on the trailer were not the same as the ones specified on the manufacture's labels. This led to a recall from Heartland and I'd to bring my trailer in for service. Even though the Heartland representative sent me an email stating that the actual work perform is around 4 hours, my trailer sat there for 2 months. In those two months, i was left in the dark with the status of my trailer's service.  My emails receive no response.  I called in multiple times and the service department rarely picks up the phone.  The calls bounced back to the front-desk and I left my name and number, but no one ever called me back.  I'd have to call back repeatedly in order to connect to someone, who will then tell me that the timeline to service my trailer will be extended longer.   The completion date was extended three times.  I'd to cancel a camping trip because of it. I've not been able to use the trailer at all, but I still have to make the loan payments.  This is so absurd.  If auto dealerships operate this way, there would be an uproar.  When I put my SUV to service at the dealership, I get regular updates about it.  Even when the parts take longer to arrive, I'd also get a courtesy call.  The least that the service department can do is to provide courtesy calls to customers so that they can plan accordingly.  I'd appreciate it if someone can just call/email/text me with a weekly status, instead of totally ignoring me. If you're a Good Sam member and you're looking for "your choice" in an RV, don't go to Camping World, Vacaville, CA - that is, unless you specifically want what they carry. Good Sam referred me to Camping World in my search for a Travel Trailer. I had assumed, from their ads, that if they didn't carry a particular brand that they would assist in finding it. Wrong! They ONLY carry a limited range of RV brands and will not assist otherwise. In fact, they will try to tell you that your "choice" is inferior to what they carry. One rep. actually told me that the Micro Mini Winnebago I wanted was NOT actually an RV but a small house. read more

Once again I'm forced to write a complaint, to hopefully get a response! I sold my motor home in December of 2018. In January 2019 I contacted Camping World to get the information to get the refund on my extended warranty. It took numerous calls, which nobody from Camping World ever called me back until I wrote a complaint here!! I forwarded all the paperwork to the proper company, and was told the information was sent to Camping World Vacaville February 15th 2019. One again here I am no money refunded after 6 weeks, my calls aren't returned. My complaint as always, they are great about taking your money, but apparently not interested in helping a customer once you've made your purchase. Last time I complained the company back east, was great and contacted me right away. After buying my new motorhome in Southern Calif, and having the worst experience ever with that dealership, we needed to do some warranty fixes and decided to go to camping World. I needed to drive about 1.5 hours. I had to wait a month for the appointment. I get there and the person who I made the appointment with had quit, so I had to wait about a half hour to be able to speak with someone, and was treated as if I never had an appointment. After going over all my items it was written up and I was told I would get a call on Friday (3 days later) to let me know what was found and corrected. I never got a call, so I called Saturday and my person was not around, I asked to speak to the service manager and they said I would get a call back. I called again 3 times on Monday..still have not heard from them. I guess it's starting to look like ALL RV dealerships service depts are the same. Does anyone know of a good place? I'm learning to fix things myself. They sure pay attention when you want to buy....but for repairs they say kiss my ........... read more

I dealt with camping world twice in the last few months and let's just say that I will never give them business again. I should have realized this by reading the other yelp reviews below, but their customer service is very poor and their pricing is very deceptive. I have never experienced a more deceptive bait and switch tactic then when dealing with this company. My first experience with them was when I was looking to purchase a new toy hauler from them. I initially called with questions, upon which the sales guys could not answer but was told they would get back to me. After never hearing back I decided to drive up to their dealership and shop in person. Again, sales guys were not helpful and knew very little about the rigs they were attempting to sell. Many times they even answered with lies to make the unit sound more appealing. Pretty quickly I decided to go to another dealership in the Bay Area, upon which I happily purchased a trailer from. My next experience related to receiving countless sale flyers in the male and emails from camping world. I eventually made a list of items that I needed and stopped in their store only to figure out that these ads require you to pay a yearly fee to get a sale price. Why am I even receiving these flyers if I am not eligible for the sale items? True bait and switch tactic right there. On another note, I ran into a minor issue on my new trailer and when I contacted the manufacturer, they explicitly told me to avoid camping world for service items. They would approve any other dealer in the area to do the warranty work at no cost to me but NOT CAMPING WORLD. Just some food for thought there. read more
