Every-time we drive by this spot I blurt out how it's on my list to try. We FINALLY had the pleasure of visiting last night & though different than I expected - surpassed my expectations. Inside gives cozy diner vibes. They have a bar, pool, arcade games, booths, etc. There are multiple rooms so there is a ton of space for groups. Our only critique was there were so many TVs - literally everywhere you look . The positive - they all were playing different sports games. I can imagine it's a great game day spot. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. 10/10. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and matched the kick back vibe. We enjoyed the Christmas decorations & look forward to exploring the outside beer garden when it's warmer!

Sitting outside....why wouldn't you want to go here?!?!!

We were promptly seated and LOVED the retro theme!! The drinks were cold, the service was spot on....what more could you ask for?!?!!? Felt line a cool old midwestern town bar, with above average food. Love the vibe and the Cuban and tots, which we split (more than enough for 2 people) was AMAZING! Especially the pulled pork, which they do in house. Definitely a place to go and watch a game or do what we did and just have a very enjoyable afternoon!!! Cheers!

Service was 10/10. Only one server and some bus boys for the entire restaurant and they did great for an NFC Championship game day. The guys liked their burgers, although on the expensive side. The Cesar wrap was dry and had too many croutons. The sweet potato fries are much better than they look. The additional covered patio that they've added is heated and cozy! Two TV's for viewing games.

The only question I have: How do I get the Campus Lounge back to Chicago?! Thanks to our hosts Miranda and Jessica, we enjoyed a fine meal--good God, that was a fabulous burger!--and excellent brandy Old Fashioneds. Our super comfortable booth echoed the rest of the CL's mid-century vibe.

Solid brunch and bar food! Plenty of tv's and bar space. Also kid and family friendly with a few arcade games. We sat at the bar and service was great! Loved the orange juice to champagne ratio for the mimosas ;) also loved the poutine!

Went here for some late night drinks after dinner. The vibe was cool and definitely nicer than your average sports bar. I ordered a Negroni and the bartender said she makes it with Hendricks so I said fine. Turns out using Hendricks doubled the price of three drink. It was a pretty good Negroni though and better than I would expect at a dive bar. However totally not worth the price of $20 if I can get one for less than that at a great cocktail bar. The whiskey and berries cocktail was also good but the blueberry syrup made it have a slight medicinal flavor. Really clean place and overall would go back. Service was also quick.

My sisters were visiting from out of town and we came to campus lounge to see Magoo the bluegrass band play. Service was excellent! Even though we had one starter meal and a soda, our server was the nicest and took great care of us. IG: @merimusubae

I've driven and walked by Campus Lounge for serval years and tonight decided to give it a try. I consider it a little above a dive bar with decent food. Service is good and waiter was very attentive. We tried the fried chicken sandwich. The coating was light and crispy, and the mayo was the perfect amount with the iceberg lettuce. The Cubano was packed with slow cooked pulled pork that was tender. The sandwich needed more mustard to add the tangy flavor. It could have used more pickles to add some crunch. The bread had an odd taste, so I just ate everything on the inside. I would go back again when there's a game on TV.

This was my next stop on hitting every burger on Westword's Best Burger List, and I had the deLIGHT of that burger this past weekend. Straightforward, simplistic, and delicious. But, let's take a step back. First of all, the service was PERFECT throughout my visit. Cheryl was my bartender, and gave me efficient, personable, flawless service that elevated my visit. She catered to me, the new customer, and took care of the regulars well, as she obviously knew them all. They had a Voodoo Ranger IPA on tap for me, which made me happy. I was able to get a seat at the bar luckily, and I think you have to be lucky, as the regulars populate them well. Back to the burger. As I said, very simplistic yet tasty. You get chips with it, and a side of onions and pickles. It was worth the trip, and worth being on that list, without a doubt. It is ironic that my darkest lighting in my pics IS the burger-guess I needed a candle lit next to it for a better pic. See what I did there? The bar area is on one side as you come in the door, and the place circles back around to it through the game room. You could technically do bar laps if you wanted to, although that would be a little weird at a dive bar. Pool tables, darts, foosball, and they had some blues rock in the background. Great atmosphere. Don't go looking for white table clothes here. But, if looking for lots of games, a cool dive element, and a surprisingly fantastic burger, this is your place. I highly recommend, and see you there...

This mute beige recess invites all kinds of speculation, the mind goes wild: when I pull the handle, will I see a luminous grotto filled with goblins swinging around on ropes, squirting each other with seltzer bottles and throwing pies? Or maybe an alabaster dais with a single key, or weirder yet, a long hallway to another door just like the one I'm standing in front of now? I've never even noticed this door. Behind it is a tidy, plain barroom with nautical stuff on the walls and low lighting, Tammy Wynette on the jukebox, a single row of barflies stoking the low murmur of morning-beer conversation, and possibly one of the nicest ladies you'll ever meet, Cathy Lyons, behind the bar. Lyons refuses my tip ("The girls that work for us take them, but we don't. We figure things are expensive enough."). She and her husband bought this place 22 years ago, and started the slow process of repeatedly kicking out the riff raff. The years of diligent 86ing have paid off in an unassuming, comfortable room where locals can come drink cheaply and safely. 22 years of work for one clean little barroom. I am humbled by what it can take to get the smallest things right, and am reminded how I need to stop trying to stake out Infinite Jests in my head all the time and just try to get this paragraph right, right now, for you. Let me know how I'm doing from time to time. Maybe you will find my striving here laid clean and bare, and perfect for the morning you find it.

The gist is I guess it's supposed to feel like an old bar car on a train - I didn't remotely get that vibe except maybe the tin ceiling? I was also not warned by the rec that we should stick more to beers or wine here, not cocktails even though they have a pretty decent cocktail menu. I got two grapefruit mimosas which were pretty good and what I expected. My husband first had the paper plane which he said was fine, but then he ordered the bar's Manhattan (meaning they have one they make on their cocktail menu) and it tasted like bourbon and water - like, really not good. He told the bartender and she remade it, but it was still not good. The bartender struck us as....something off? Drunk? Completely out of it? I love a good bartender (friendly, chatty, funny, whatever) and she just seemed in a daze which I think kind of soured our visit. The rest of the people at the bar were fine, nothing too exciting happened. A guy did come in and ask for a glass of water because a trash can outside was on fire, so that was a new one. Upside is they do have some parking on the side of the building so it was nice not to have to park on the street. But even as a dive bar goes, wasn't quite our speed.

I wish I would've thought to take pictures of the interior but, alas, I was living in the moment and enjoying myself too much! I guess you could call the spot a dive bar, but I felt like it was one or two notches above a dive bar. They have top shelf liquor for purchase, a good selection of beers, and specialty shots. I ordered a Tanqueray and 2 specialty shots and the total was just under $20. They had beers for $5 and they even had a PBR, shot of whiskey, and a random cigarette for $6. Lol There was also free popcorn! There were a lot of things to do including 2 pool tables, 2 dartboards, and the hook ring toss game that's super fun. The interior had neon signs from old gas stations, and re-purposed car seats for seating. It was definitely mechanic themed, but without all of the toxic masculinity. This is a cute vibe for rockabilly folks or queers. My favorite part was the music! It was a mid 2000s Indie vibe, with a couple retro/modern bangers thrown in. I hadn't heard the songs from Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette in decades and it brought me back. Overall a super cute place, great service, wonderful bartenders, and a great vibe!
