    Latte

GET AND CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING THIS PLACE! This is pending resolution, but as of now I am shocked by my experience. Yesterday Nov 11th, two friends and I went here for brunch. They ordered breakfast while I ordered a latte (online menu says $8) with vanilla, lavender and oat milk. During our visit, the staff brought out 2 additional plates of food (avocado toast and chicken & waffles) which we quickly said that we did NOT order. They offered them as "samples for you to try". At the end, I paid for my latte by handing my card to the owner (Tammy?) who stepped away with it and came back with the card, but no receipt. I didn't make a deal of it because hey, it was just a latte. Later, I was shocked to see a $22.76 charge pending for my latte. One of my friends said she noticed that she too was overcharged by around $5. I called twice and was told (by Hope?) that the only latte charge she found was a latte with a shot of Irish Cream, which I did not order and sounds nothing like "vanilla, lavender, and oat milk". Hope said the owner would call me the next day but she did not. I did I notice a $5.44 credit pending, but without an explanation, I still don't understand why my latte was $17.32. Are they for real? Or did she charge me for the food that we did NOT order? I intend to call back and lets hope they resolve this because a latte should not cost $17.32. * Seeing other reviews of customer being overcharged and owner refusing to do anything.

Everything! It's a shame that such a cute place but service was horrible! Food ... ok some of it .. servers once was there but not really she looked high to be honest we would all die or food, coffee anything she would say ok it'll be just a few seconds but it took three trips to bring coffee, creamer, and sugar ! By the time she bought everything together my coffee was cold we got our food late!!! Everything cold it cuz it's so pricey but extremely bad service I'm sorry hate to say it but I gotta be honest! I feel bad that my son had to pay over $100 for this I have to say that the best thing there was the chicken sandwich and their Matcha drink and coffee flavor

First time back since the remodel and I do miss the indoor bar, coffee and couches but this new layout is what Texas is about. You enjoy your food and the weather. We went for brunch and I tried their cinnamon toast crunch drink which was fantastic, then there was avocado toast with eggs that didn't disappoint! I had the Benedict barbocoa and was so good! The back patio is very inviting and the resident kitties is a sweet addition to the decor. Don't worry they don't bother anyone, they actually kinda greet you at the entrance behind the bannisters. The cats are not in your personal space at all, much to my personal preference lol.

Great brunch location away from the riverwalk crowds. This cute house located about 5 mins from downtown is a neighborhood home converted to a great coffee house that serves great food and drinks. Breakfast / brunch options are all great options from various benedict dishes to standard bacon and eggs. They provide various mimosa options form the standard orange, pineable, grapefruit, cranberry and so forth. Plenty of inside, patio and back patio seating. In fact quite big. Would encourage anyone to come visit and try out the food options.

Great experience! First time visit on a spring day. Seated quickly, coffee and food came out with minimal wait. We ate outside, lots of tables, many with umbrellas and little fans to keep the bugs off our food. Staff checked on us regularly, more so than we've experienced in a while. Will definitely be returning!

Food! Service! Ambiance! All 10/10! We went on a Saturday afternoon. The vibes you get as soon as you walk in is everything. There was just enough people there and not overcrowded. Being off the strip, parking can be challenging but it is doable. The food was delicious. Nothing we had was just average. You can tell there was effort made to make the dishes delicious.

Hit up brunch with my husband, and I had a blast. We had the garden seating, which was perfect for the weather. I would definitely love to come hang out here again. The staff was nice and friendly. The food was good. The fruit looked and tasted fresh. And the mimosas were the highlight of our 2 person party!

    Omelette with potatoes, too salty!!!

Being totally honest, food not anything special. But you also come here for the shabby chic vibe and the employees are so nice and attentive. I went here a time or two over 12 years ago, but not a fan of the area due to parking situation. Today I wanted something different so I tried brunch. They requested I clean my hands inside the door with anti-bac and the host checked our temperature. My omelette was too salty. Not a fan of the side potato the way it is prepared, sort of like pot roast potato, I like roasted or hash style The pancake was so good though. It had a vaguely cinnamon taste, like cinnabon.

I am over all pleased with my experience. I tried it out for the first time with my family. I like how we were treated at the door, by the bartenders and by the servers and waiters. Food was good and on point. The atmosphere was nice. My only issue was with how cold it was inside, like if the heater was broken or something. Even the staff member agreed it was cold and would ask to put up the heat but i never noticed it on. I've never been in a restaurant where my hands and feet were cold and i kept my beanie and jacket on the whole time. Also letting the kids color the table was a great touch and yall should keep that going! Overall, I'd be back again and i'm guessing that heater issue was a temporary problem.

We decided to sit outside. It was so nice and beautiful. Perfect weather to do a girls brunch. Daughter had the avocado toast and said it looked different from the menu picture? But she said it was pretty good. Niece got the bacon and spinach omelette which she enjoyed. I ordered the lox platter which was delicious! I would definitely go back and highly recommend. Only downfall was a cat. Lol. Super cute but got annoying once our food came. Kept wanting to check out what we were eating.

    Ask the Community - Candlelight

Would you consider opening more days of the week?

Yes we are open Mondayfriday 630 - 2pm…

Is there a mimosa bar on the weekends?

We have mimosas on the weeken yes

    Are there vegan options?

    Yes there are!!

    Is there a parking lot?

Good morning unfortunately there are no parking lots on the strip. It's all street parking.

Checking to see if Candlelight is now open after 4 p.m.? I've moved to Santa Fe and will be back for a nice visit this week. Would love to capture some new memories on the patio with a nice glass of wine and cheese board. :)

We will be open this Wednesday and Friday evening from 5pm - 10pm

Hello, do y'all do brunch & mimosas on Fridays? Thanks!

Good evening we are promoting our mimosa sets on Thursday's and Friday's. We will also have a limit on brunch selections but we will also have our full dinner menu available as well.

Does this place have bottomless mimosas & do they take reservations?

Good afternoon our establishment offers mimosa set and we have open seating

What time can they serve mimosas on Sundays?

Good evening we serve mimosas at 10am

Is this place good for a group of 30 to sit outside if we are to put tables/chairs together?

Yes. We have a large patio that accommodates big parties.

    Is brunch only on Sunday?

Good afternoon our brunch is on Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 2pm

Do they still have bottomless mimosas?

No. I believe it was a state wide order that bottomless aren't allowed anymore.

    Is it kid friendly?

Absolutely. As long as your kid understands that not every place they go to is a playground. I brought my 4 year old and she did just fine.

Or something a bit classier. Service was mediocre, a bit overbearing to be honest with multiple pushes for us to order more. We tried the butternut squash dip, the spicy feta, the hummus, roasted corn and the lamb ribs. We also got 2 spitz and 2 beer. Total for four people with tip was about 95 bucks which is fair. We had a vegetarian at our table so they brought out veggies to dip as well which was nice. My favorite was the roasted corn and the surprisingly the feta. It was enough to be full. Lamb was fatty but flavored nicely.

They're clearly going for a club-style omakase vibe with music, darker lighting, and a smoky atmosphere. It's cute that they tried to blend a nightlife feel with sushi. For me, it didn't quite land, but I can appreciate the attempt. Service was impeccable. The team was warm, attentive, and professional throughout the night. The food was decent for the price, but the flavor curation felt off. The soup tasted like bland water. The poke/nacho was okay but leaned too salty. The salad felt like a basic garden salad tossed in as an afterthought. The fish itself was fresh, which matters most for sushi. Where it struggled was in execution and timing. The nigiri was made all at once for the entire group instead of paced out. Sushi really should be eaten within a certain window, and by the time we got through everything the flavors started blending together. The seasoning also felt inconsistent. At one point the chef zested too much lime on several pieces which left a bitter note and pushed citrus onto dishes that didn't need it. It felt like the kitchen was vibing more with the music and DJ energy than carefully building flavor profiles. Overall, good fish and decent sushi, but the curation and taste balance are missing. The ambiance seems to be the main focus rather than the food itself. Still worth trying once. It's a fun concept and a good night out. I just don't think it's the place that will put San Antonio on the sushi map yet.
