I finally got to try Extra Fine in Southtown and I am so glad I did! Extra Fine is a neighborhood bakery and cafe with some amazing and delicious breakfast and lunch menus. Their first location is located in Monte Vista, but they just recently opened a second one in Southtown. This location has plenty of indoor seating and they tables are very large which is perfect for those that like to work and/or study from a coffee shop. Their food menu is small but might with some really good and healthy options. For my first time I decided to go with their Chicken Caesar Salad Sandwich. The sandwich was absolutely delicious! It was the perfect blend between a classic chicken sandwich and a caesar salad. It was absolutely delicious and nothing like I've ever had before at any other restaurant. The only downside about this location is that it seems they are struggling with their A/C because the place was pretty toasty, but in their defense I understand it is really hard to keep a place this large cool when is 105 outside. Regardless, I can't wait to come back and order their Chicken Caesar Salad Sandwich again!

This Biz owner charges junk fee for all transactions, 3.5%! I take an issue with this since the owner claims it's for credit card fees, but disallows cash. Credit card companies also disallows passing these fees on to customers. Also 1$ fee for almond milk is pricey. Ambience could have been cool, but hvac was lacking in July. Food was good, but not a good value.

This location is the better one of the two! Staff is friendly and can recommend you something geared toward your liking. Coffee and food are both great. It's very spacious inside and good to study in. I do like that they always have new things to try.

Extra Fine Southtown is in the old building that used to sell juices. I went by one afternoon to try them out. There's no parking in the front and the parking in the back of the building is sparse inside the fence. I love the vibe of the place. It gives off an organic Austin-type vibe. The service is kind and fast. They offer a variety of pastries, sandwiches, salads etc. if you go late you'll only have a few options as most will be sold out. They also offer a variety of coffee and tea drinks. Everything I ate or drank from this place has been really tasty! I'll definitely continue to stop by when in the area.

Chai tea and turkey sandwich was off the chain!! Such a cute quiet spot and very attentive services.

I came at 7am on a Sunday...first one there. Ordered a cheese sausage kalache, a yogurt parfait and an almond tart along with a latte and a London Fog. Everything was fresh, delicious and simple... they also had a pretty good assortment of other goodies, that I'll come back for next time. The service was quick and friendly and the dining room was spacious and had many places to comfortably enjoy your food.

I saw the Crispy Chicken Salad Caesar Sandwich on the menu and thought, "Wait, salad in a sandwich?" But honestly, it's next-level good. The crispy chicken and crunchy texture between the buns totally nails that Caesar salad flavor, and it's honestly one of the most creative things I've had in a while. The potato chips on the side are the perfect complement--simple but delicious. The place itself is gorgeous, with a vibe that's perfect for catching up with friends or just chilling solo. It's a great addition to Southtown, which, let's be real, is kind of dominated by Tex-Mex spots, so this is a breath of fresh air. I'll definitely be back for the coffee, pastries, and whatever else they throw on the menu next time. If you're tired of the usual and looking for something different but still super satisfying, you have to try this place! Definitely my new go-to. Service was quick and friendly.

We had a nice visit this past Saturday for the ice cream social! My husband just about devoured his sandwich. It was the new Chicken Caesar Salad Sandwich made with zucchini bread & butter pickles and finely shredded Parmesan. He actually can't wait to go back again for a repeat. I had a Caesar salad that they were kind enough to accommodate me with as it's not a menu item. Sorry it's not pictured. The girls stuck with ice cream. More artisanal flavors for my kids but we made do. The place is pretty spacious and the tables are set up family style. Everything is set up where you basically clean up after yourself but they are there to help you if you need anything. I can't wait to go back for some pasties and kolaches. Pics in the next visit!

What a beautiful and open space. They're getting their systems down, but the staff is friendly. The avocado toast came out without the burrata cheese but when I asked about it they gave a side of it. No hard feelings because it was delish.

We decided to try out Extra Fine after spending the morning touring the Briscoe Western Art Museum. I loved that the menu was short but offered an excellent variety of items. I ordered the quiche (recommended by our cashier) and my boyfriend ordered the club. Both were incredibly delicious. That pastry crust on the quiche though... YUM! My only complaint is that there are no refills on the coffee. It was GREAT coffee and I just get a plain ole drip black coffee. It was a small cup - one refill would have been nice, especially considering that tiny cup was $3.50. But coffee disappointment aside, not worth knocking a star off the review. :) The interior is so cute with eye catching decor everywhere. I'm curious about the dinosaurs. Haha. I loved them! Such a fun vibe. I definitely want to come here one weekday to break up the work from home monotony.

I stumbled upon Extra Fine in Southtown when I was on a bike ride and decided to stop and grab a coffee and pastry. They have a bike rack outside to lock your bike. This charming coffee shop serves exceptional coffee, crafted with love and care. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for remote work or catching up with friends. They have large tables with plenty of chairs and seating that faces presa street. Additionally, there are a few small tables outside where you can enjoy your items. I ordered a cappuccino with lavender syrup and a cinnamon roll. Both had great flavor profiles. One recommendation I have is adjusting the heat or time when warming up the pastry because some areas of the pastry were warm and others cold. Not a big deal. The barista that helped me had exceptional customer service, despite it being über busy that morning. I noticed several people walk out because the barista was taking orders and making coffee simultaneously, which resulted in a bottleneck. Will I Return? Of course. Overall it's a cool spot and I'd like to try some items on the breakfast/lunch menu. Peace.

Within walking distance of our airbnb and it was SOOOO good! Pesto Knot was a great snack to take to go and they just dropped their holiday menu. The London Cloud was amazing! Great vibes and polite cashier. If i lived here i would probably be here all of the time.

This place is fire!!! Try their lemon verbena fruit pastry. It tastes like summer 10/10

I had been on a long trek along the Riverwalk on a hot day and wanted to quench my thirst. It was mid-afternoon between normal meal times so it was quiet when I arrived. The drill is to order and pay at the counter, take a seat at one of the many tables (lots of indoor and outdoor seating), and - at least in my case - your order is brought to you. The friendly fellow who took my order also brought it to my table. Not being hungry, I just ordered an iced strawberry mocha latte. It was really tasty, like a chocolate-covered strawberry. I think that was one of their seasonal specials so not certain it's always on the menu. The little village this cute cafe is located in was fun to explore after I finished my drink. As far as coffee drinks - highly recommended.

I'm generally not understanding the purpose of taking our names down? We're not picking up the order from the counter, so why not just give us number cards. 3. The man who took our numbers was very helpful and courteous 4. The cheeseburger was not worth $15 no sides 5. Not a fan of the vibe. And misrepresentation on Apple Maps makes it appear as though it's inside a church or next to one (it is neither)

Formerly a house, the interior of this cafe has a serene feel inside with comfortable seating. There is also seating on the front porch and a huge backyard patio deck. You order at the counter, which is right when you walk in the front door. Your order is brought to your table, wherever you may be sitting. On my first visit I had a croque monsieur, a deli ham and melted cheese sandwich with béchamel sauce between toasted bread. It was delicious and was served with potato chips. I also got a hot vanilla latte, served in a mug, which was absolute perfection. One thing I liked was the absence of laptop campers. I only spotted one on both of my visits. People come here to quietly socialize or just take a break from life for a few minutes. My second visit was mainly to get another one of those fantastic vanilla lattes but I also chose a chocolate croissant from their pastry case. The croissant, served on a nice dish, was fresh, flakey, and full of chocolate. I sat, relaxed, and felt like things didn't get much better than this.

However, parking was difficult and not very convenient. The coffee was good and smooth, but nothing that really stood out. It was solid quality, just not something I'd go out of my way for. One thing that surprised me was the price. My latte was listed at $7, but with all the extra charges for add-ons it quickly became $9+, which felt a bit pricey even coming from Chicago where coffee can already be expensive. What really affected the rating for me was the service speed. It was probably the slowest coffee service I've experienced. I waited about 15 minutes for two lattes, and there was only one other person ahead of me. For a simple order, that felt like a long time. Overall, it's a nice café with a clean, spacious atmosphere and decent coffee, but the pricing and slow service make it somewhere I'd visit occasionally rather than regularly.
