Nice casual restaurant. You order as you walk in , they make everything fresh and then you pick it up. Pleant of indoor and outdoor seating, alsoa banquet room. Our group had sandwiches, salads, soup and even a grilled cheese with cookie. Everything looks great and tasted super fresh. I had a side wedge with chicken - plenty of food for lunch and served with a piece of their bread (also yummy). The staff was friendly and efficient. I'll be back with even more friends. read more

A laid-back place with counter service and big windows facing a forested area, this place was unpretentious. I ordered something that was marked on the menu as a favorite. When it arrived, it looked boring and bland, but it wasn't! It was absolutely delicious! My friend got soup and salad and it was quite pretty. This place is delicious!! My husband has picked this up for me twice now. The tortilla soup is so good. Today Natalie was able to modify my order and I had the Firecracker chicken in a panini with a side of their pesto pasta salad .....everything I have tried so far is very good. I cant wait to try their yogurt! Why i didn't try this place a long time when I was working from home is beyond me!! They call you asap if they have questions about your online order. 3/5 This is a really cute cafe in San Antonio with lots of great seating options both indoor and outdoor - the outdoor seating area looks beautiful with lots of scenery around & the inside is much larger than it looks when you walk in. There's plenty of space to sit and get some work done or to bring a larger party! The service I received was amazing, staff was very friendly and helpful! I did the 1/2 combo with the tomato soup and a Bruschino panini. I was not a fan of what I got. I LOVE tomato soup but this one was really watery tasting but thick in texture - I couldn't eat it. The panini was okay but it wasn't anything that I would re-order. Overall the atmosphere and service were great, but I had to take off stars for the food. I would definitely try it again and get something else to see if it's better! They had a large menu so there's many different options to choose from which is nice, I just happened to get something that I thought I would like and didn't. read more

What a little hidden jewel! I went there for the first time yesterday, although I have passed it numerous times. Don't let the view from the road fool you. I couldn't believe what I have been missing for so long. It's such a cute spot with a view that you would think you're in the middle of the woods, the food was also very delicious. I tried to keep it light and healthy so I had the broccoli and cheddar soup with a wedge salad! It was amazing and for person that always need additional salt. I did not it was perfect. I really like the Hearthstone Bakery, but this visit showed they could make some improvements to both their menu and their services. I went to pick up an order for lunch, and I'll take some ownership of this but I left without some of the items. I had the turkey paninni with spinach artichoke spread. It was meh... I will say that the sweet tea was sweet but tea flavored, and not just sugar water. Their cookies were awesome, and when I went back to pick up whatever I had left on the first trip, the staff offered me a morning pastry to go. There staff is friendly, and attentive. I have enjoyed their other lunch time fare, and have been pretty impressed - the soups are delicious. Their wraps are both tasty and filling. I've been impressed by the firecracker wrap and the cranberry balsamic wrap. The flavor was far more notable than the spinach artichoke spread - again, meh. It's close enough that I will return, if only to try their breakfast or another awesome wrap. Finally - always, always, check your order before you leave the restaurant or drive thru. read more

I'm at the pediatric surgical unit for Methodist hospital, I almost lost my child yesterday and I haven't eaten in days. I went to the cafe and they have sandwiches from this bakery there. Why- please explain to me why this company is charging people in a CHILDRENS HOSPITAL where our babies are fighting for their lives $20 for this?! I had a chicken sandwich, a coke, and a yogurt. It tasted like garbage by the way. I checked the menu for the physical bakery- $11 buys a sandwich and chips maybe even a salad or drink included. Why would you mark up the cost for dying patients? Women Veterans of San Antonio held their membership meeting in the nice accommodating dinning room. I had Cabernet and it was good. I had the August special Chicken panini. It was so good. I chose the side of Broccoli cheddar cheese . It was a good size. Cashier was nice and very helpful. My friend ordered the same panini but she got a salad for the side and it looked delicious. What a delicious and fresh meal! It's made to order and relatively fast. This place is always busy during the lunch hours! My favorite is the Bruschino Panini. WOW! This place is great! It's tucked kind of tucked away, you can only see the sign from the street. It's a perfect location for a cafe, the building itself has large open windows and lets tons of sun in, very full of life. They also have an outdoor section that's so peaceful! The weather was nice so I sat outside. The menu is huge and slightly overwhelming. I'm not going to lie I kind of just panicked and ordered because I didn't want to take up too much time. I got the 1/2 soup 1/2 sandwich deal with chicken tortilla soup and Jason's club, and a side of pesto pasta. The staff were friendly and quick with my order. Everything was so good! The sandwich was a perfect portion and very tasty. The flavor of the chicken tortilla soup was really good, I wish the sour cream had come on the side because it melted into the soup, but now I know for next time. The pasta was crazy good, I could eat an entire bucket. If you're looking for a quick quiet lunch I recommend giving this place a try! You do get the noise of planes flying over from time to time but nothing the restaurant can do about that, just something to keep in mind. So many good options, I will definitely be back! Ok I give this place 5 stars on just service alone. The guy at the front counter was super nice and brought my food out.l along with the young lady by the kitchen that was super helpful. I ordered a Panino and it was big. I got the egg and sausage. This thing was awesome and the bread had that soft crunch that I love. I also got a Apple turnover. The turnover was flaky and fresh out of the oven. The sugar on top was heavenly. The only issue I had was that the apple turnover I ordered didn't have any apple ! It's like it either oozed out during cooking or there wasn't much filling in it. I'm hoping that was a one off thing. However I still give them my 5 stars again just on how nice the staff is. I've been eating this specific panini since 2016! Back when they were at the Forum, I'd walk in and the cashiers would already know what I was going to order. Of course I've tried their other paninis but this one is the best one imo. Their chipotle mayo is the best I've ever had from any place! The grilled onions in this panini perfects the entire sandwich! I tried this at the other location and it was nowhere near as flavorful for some reason. I've been on the hunt for a good sandwich shop for quite some time now. I saw this place had 4 stars so I gave it a shot. Unfortunately, was seriously let down. I ordered the two best sellers: Alicia's club subbed the croissant for a hoagie roll and the turkey artichoke panini with sides of the loaded potato salad and the pesto pasta salad. I figured I couldn't go wrong with the best sellers -- wrong! First the Alicia's club was terrible! The hoagie roll tasted old and fell apart. As you can see from the photos, it was all bread and lettuce. 2 slices of tomato, hardly any Turkey and the avocado spread was so thin I couldn't even taste it. The sandwich was very dry! The Turkey artichoke panini was better than the Alicia's club but not by far. It did have a lot more Turkey which I appreciated however, as you can see from the photos there was no artichoke, had one tiny slice of tomato and a thin layer of the spinach-artichoke spread that was mostly just spinach -- major letdown!! The loaded potato salad was full of green onions and had one piece of bacon that was fatty. The pesto pasta was honestly the only thing that wasn't a complete letdown. This place needs some serious work! The descriptions on their sandwiches make them sound amazing then they don't put half the ingredients on it. $30 wasted!! I will not be going here again. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! read more

Not my favorite sandwich but I decided to order a panini for lunch here for the first time which was good. The turkey was fresh the tomatoes were ripe, the cheese and bread was great , but the bacon seemed to be microwaved, I couldn't even chew it ! The worst part about the meal was the dessert . The cookie was hard as a rock and tasted about a week old . It was very dissatisfying. The tea was excellent and the soup was really good as well! It's a very nice environment and very comfortable. I will have to try the club sandwich next time . Hopefully they fix their cookie issue because dessert is alway my favorite part of the meal!
