The part they were describing just works that way in Volkswagens. He drove it over there himself to point it out but the guy at the inspection refused to acknowledge it and said if I brought it back again, he would fail it again if he didn't see new parts on there. Dave at Meineke suggested I just lose the inspection fee there and go somewhere else to get it inspected. He made me a deal. If it failed again, he would make the repair that was needed for free. That's how confident he was that the guy was wrong. Sure enough, he was right. It passed at the other inspection station. In a time where you just aren't sure that you're getting a fair and honest deal, this Meineke is a good place to go. They could have easily made several hundred dollars on me by replacing parts that didn't need replacing, but they didn't. I never hesitate to question their judgement.

Paul's diagnoses are always excellent and just as likely to provide a sense of relief as to confirm darker fears. He always takes the time to communicate what ails your car and is highly articulate. So your eyes aren't in danger of glazing over when the technical details start spilling forth. If you don't have transportation home and need to drop off the car for an overnight, not to worry. He'll set you up with a loaner car. Paul has even made little repairs free of charge and sent me on my way without so much as a "while you're here, you should really look into this." In sum, I feel he's extremely trustworthy and his crew are highly competent. Repairs are very thoroughly described on the bill, breaking everything down by parts and labor. Came close to giving that extra, super-duper special fifth star, but occasionally I've been a little glum about the cost of the labor. But then again, with Chicopee Tire & Auto, you do get what you're paying for.
