We usually get seated as soon as we walk in, scenery is okay... just a few paintings, more of a modern theme. The food is sometimes hit-or-miss. When it's cooked right, it's awesome, but a lot of times, the eggs are overcooked, overmedium eggs are supposed to be a bit runny and no scramble. But it's often that the eggs are very runny or or completely scrambled. A waiter named Max is always our waiter. She does a great job and gets the food out on time. Overall very nice but if the food was more consistent than it would be five stars. People visiting St. Augustine or Jacksonville should visit this place. read more

Cute little breakfast spot located in the Bayard shoppes off Philips. It seems to be a popular place on the weekend which is always a good sign. We had about a 20 minute wait. Before going in, I of course skimmed the yelp photos to see if anything caught my attention. I really like the way the croissant French toast looked. When placing my order I was told they were no longer able to make them. I was a bit confused and let down as that was something I really wanted to try. I ended up going with the birthday pancakes. Mehh. They were what you'd expect birthday pancakes to taste like. I should have gone with the Italian avocado toast!! James was a grear server. Spot on with suggestions. Coffee was always full and creamer never empty. We didn't partake of anything special but my philosophy is if you can't nail the simple stuff you're likely to be a flash in the pan. This cafe is the cutest place! I loved the servers. I ate here with a few of my friends and it was our first time. Multiple servers came over and asked if it was our first time and really took time to guide us through the menu and give us some awesome suggestions. I ordered the Cap'n Crunch French Toast. I was slightly disappointed in the taste. It seemed to just be normal French toast with crushed Cap'n Crunch sprinkled all over, but I would definitely come back and try something else next time. Super disappointed, this was our favorite local diner. And I'm from Tallahassee and always enjoyed that location. Today was a departure from the previous good service and food that we always received. The server forgot my toddler's milk, and since they didn't come back to check on the order, 10 minutes after his pancakes came, I was eventually able to flag down a server and ask again for the milk. Our server disregarded our request for it to be in a takeout cup/ cup with a lid (bc it's for a 3 year old) and just brought over a bottle. About 15 mins later, our food arrived. I get bringing out the kids food first, but if it's that staggered, then the kid will finish before the adults can even begin. I ordered a burger with cheese, onions, and pickles. The first time it came out, I had to flag someone down because it didn't have cheese, pickles, or onion. Again, no one checked on us so we had to flag our server down after it came back, again with no cheese. Then, the third time it was brought to us, obviously the fries were cold.... and the cheddar? Was cold shredded cheese on the burger? Fries were whisked away, we said they were cold, no hot ones were offered. Eventually, server drops our check. No apologies. I ask to speak with a manager. While we waited 10 mins for the owner to arrive, the server then comps an item off of our check. It's terrible to wait until a customer complains to attempt to rectify mistakes, that have been made repetitively. Comping a plate is fine, but would've preferred to pay for a decent lunch with normal service. Only giving 2 stars bc they did a super cute job on the Mickey Mouse pancakes. Let's get one thing straight here - my wife and I have dined here numerous times - bringing friends and family - and every experience has been great! Menu options, Food quality, ticket times, hospitality - all on point!! With all that being said, we recently had a baby, and on our most recent visit (my choice for Father's Day) our little stinker had a BIG stinker. The kind that no Pampers could contain. Usually no big deal - change her in the restroom - wash your hands - go about your dining experience. No such luck. Please please please invest in baby changing stations!! They are only $200 for a Koala Kare system and can be installed in about 30 minutes. We were forced to get our meal to go on the fly and eat it cold after the drive home. I will commend the staff again though, as they handled the situation promptly and professionally. As a GM in the industry myself - there are few restaurants that I trust and frequent. I lived in Tallahassee for 2 years and since being in Jax, I have been missing my Canopy! We used to go almost every Sunday so it was nice to come here and get my cinnamon roll fix. The wait was only about 15 minutes. I hate that this location doesn't have outdoor seating but that isn't their fault on that. The inside is a bit smaller but really cute and very on brand for Canopy. Our server was really nice and on point with food and drinks. I got my beloved cinnamon roll that I missed! My partner got a churro waffle and a few other things too. I got pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fries. Everything was really yummy and tasted like the Canopy of Tallahassee so I will be coming back for sure. Their cinnamon rolls and bacon are two of my favorite things but I've also had great service at every locations I've been to which keeps me coming back. That, the good food, and chill atmosphere. The staff was inviting and the waitress did a great job on checking up on us every so often. Busy for good reason! We arrived at 8:20am on Sunday & the parking lot was pretty full near the restaurant! I was worried about seating because I knew it was a smaller cafe. We were greeted right away and told we could sit anywhere- I opted for the counter because I didn't want to take a four-top with them being so busy and the 2-tops were ittty bitty. Drinks were grabbed right away by a sweet younger woman. Our server waited a bit before coming over- hubby had his phone on the menu, so it appeared like he was studying the menu- tsk tsk. We put in our order and then I saw the limited time offer card- darn, I totally would have considered one of those! The counter is very deep- and the salt/pepper and condiments with the limited time offer table talker are out of my arms reach. I would suggest that servers push them in a little when guests sit down. On to the food- orders came up pretty quickly! I ordered the pineapple upside down pancakes- and opted for a short stack and didn't make it a combo (adding eggs and a meat). Good thing too- the pancakes were HUGE! Thick and filled the plate! They were very delicious and surprisingly not too sweet! I had to ask for more syrup since they just slurped it up. Hubby got the corned beef hash breakfast- a favorite breakfast usually and this did not disappoint! He said the eggs- ordered scrambled- were more fried, the yolk was scrambled but it was thinly fried. He enjoyed them, he said it was just a little different than what he expected- corned beef hash was perfect, crisped on the top, just the way he likes it. He order grits as his side and first bite got a "mmmhhhhmmm" they cooked them right. By the end of our meal we both agreed, this will warrant repeat business. There was a line outside by the time we left at 9am. So my tip is go early or be prepared to wait! For a new business, they are filling the parking lot!!! read more

Looking for a breakfast on a Wednesday and this place came up highly recommended by yelpers. The place has an inviting decor , nice comfortable chairs , clean place and clean utensils. Our server was very hospitable . I ordered the biscuit and gravy combo. The reason for the 4 star was the taste , the biscuit is not as tasty as the maple street biscuit and the buttermilk pancake was second to ihop. The sunny side up was well cooked , the bacon was good and the hash brown were ok. I was looking for the "wow", it did not deliver. I will be coming back to taste more of their food and see how it goes. By the way the menu is just to much , very confusing! read more
