I almost cancelled my salad order and got another cup of soup! My husband got the turkey sandwich special and said it was very good. I got the spinach salad with candied pecans, blue cheese, and apples. It was ok but the blue cheese was very strong. It was a huge portion. Told it would be a 30 minute wait and it was less than a 5 minute wait. Young girls at the host counter seemed to be discouraged about working talking vulgarly dropping the "F" bomb as we waited. Floor was super dirty with a bucket and mop leaning by the bar. Bathroom floor was cleaner than dining area. The server missed some requests in the order but was nice and corrected it. A school cafeteria chaotic feel, saw a signed paid bill left on the floor in outside dining area. Overall missing the attention to detail. Great sandwich and soup shop! Don't get the locations confused though! My husband and I had looked at the menu prior to dining and were a little disappointed when we got to the blue ridge location and there was no pulled pork sandwich and no grilled chicken pesto sandwich. They made up for it though! Both of our sandwiches were delicious and the soup of the day was chicken and wild rice. Went here with my family on a trip to north GA. Quite bustling. After waiting a while for a group of older people to move (not restaurants fault) we were seated. Service was quick. Tomato basil soup was delicious. Grilled cheese wasn't the best, but could've been worse. Sister enjoyed her grilled cheese more, so possibly my choice of bread was the downfall. I've been going to Cantaberrys for years now, and I have to say, it can be hit or miss. There is a reason this place is always so crowded, good food, and great desserts. I usually order the chicken wildrice soup with a half turkey club on white bread. It's a creamy and tasty soup, especially with their crackers. The sandwiches are stacked high and toasted to perfection. However, if they're busy, there's a chance the soup will be a little watered down. Another time, I tried for a regular turkey sandwich that they toasted and added cheese that I didn't want. Another time, my fiancé had a cup of disappointing tomato soup. The cakes they offer for dessert are from the Alpine Bakery, and worth a hundred bites! All in all, they put a lot of effort into this town, so stop by! read more

Stopped by on a sunny Sunday afternoon after a short hike on the AP (Woody Gap) and riding through the mountains. Hungry for a simple soup and sandwich place and Cantaberry delivered! I had the tomato basil soup and chicken salad combo and they were excellent. The soup was especially good-sorted regretted that I didn't get a bowl! This was a random choice for lunch but boy, was it a great one! Tatum, our waitress, was absolutely outstanding. So friendly and welcoming. Tons of personality. The restaurant accommodated our party of nine. Everyone in our party raved about their food. The chicken wild rice soup was superb- steaming hot. Decided to come eat at this little deli for breakfast before departing the sleepy tourist town of Blue Ridge. Food was nice, not super above average, but pleasant. Atmosphere was also pleasant, nice lighting. But the reason I'm writing this review is just to rave about the amazing customer service. My waitress (unfortunately, I never caught her name) was attentive, enthusiastic, and happy. She affectionatelly referred to my party as 'darling,' as she regularly checked in on us. The breakfast here might have been the highlight of my day, if nothing else, for the radiant lady who waited on us. Would recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly. read more

Our food was delicious! Truly. I had a reuben and the hubs had a burger and the kids had kid food. It was all SO GOOD! A bit of a wait to get our drink order... then to get someone to come TAKE our order... I didn't really know what was up. What a great little restaurant! Our party of 8 had 20 minutes before we had to leave for our rafting time. They were very accommodating, drinks in to go cups, to go boxes quickly along with check. We had turkey bacon avocado wrap, grill cheese, cranberry walnut salad, Gouda bisque, chicken salad sandwich, chicken wild rice soup, and turkey bacon avocado sandwich. The soups were great and sandwiches we very tasty. We will be back with more time next time we are in the area. read more

Didn't get a chance to eat here because the service was so terrible. There were three tables open, but covered with dirty dishes. My daughter, wife and I stood by the "Please wait to be seated" sign for 15 minutes where we were told to wait by a waitress. No one said another word to us. The bus boy came out and took one plate at a time back to the kitchen. Food might be good, but if they never seat you how would you know? We got a bunch of items: the pimento cheese isn't blended, but shredded. My husband liked it okay. The chicken salad wasn't my favorite because it wasn't grounded up, but chunky pieces of chicken with whole grapes. I prefer it to be more like a paste. Picked apples at Mercier Orchards and drove the short distance to downtown Blue Ridge for lunch. Figured out that everybody loves the Famous Chicken Salad because it's sweet. It is good, if you're into that. I'm not but it'd been a while since I had chicken salad and I wasn't disappointed. Also added a cup of the Tomato Basil soup and I'm so glad I did. It made my lunch. Overshadowed the sandwich by far. There's a complexity to the flavor that I couldn't quite name. Enjoyed a glass of Bliss Chardonnay with it. The sandwiches on the kids menu have an adult sized portion of meat, which was good news for my 10 year old son. Overall the menu isn't anything special but it's executed well and the service was decent. Prices are slightly higher than the menu warrants but to be expected for the tourist / tour bus crowd context. read more

This is a great spot for lunch in Blue Ridge. The soups were all excellent (tomato basil, mushroom and brie, and chicken wild rice). Service was great despite a large party of 9 seated right before us. Lacey was very friendly and definitely made us feel at home. I had the veggie wrap and I enjoyed it - it came with a sweet sauce mixed into the combination of lettuce, olives and broccoli which created a delicious flavor. Sometimes veggie wraps can be dry and tasteless but this was really tasty and something I'd definitely order again. Others at my table all raved about their sandwiches as well. Oh. My. Goodness! This place was awesome! We wanted something light as we primarily eat in our cabin. They have sandwiches that will knock your socks off! I had the Ruben, wife the chicken salad on croissant and kids had grilled cheese and turkey. Service was fantastic. Nancy was ours and she was great! The portions are large and they stay busy so plan ahead if you get caught in the rush. Prices are reasonable for this area (keep in mind most are high so they charge higher than most sandwich shops but they are worth it). *FOOD- GREAT FOOD *SERVICE- AWEFUL Waited 23 minutes on a waitress to take our order. Twice she said as she walked by "I'll be with you in a minute". When she did take our order she would not look at us and kept looking behind her. When we did get our order it was wrong. She continued to ignore us and kept on SPEED walking past. We finally just ate the sandwiches we did NOT order...we had to Go to the front desk and ASK for the check. We left no tip. ON OUR WAY OUT the door, the waitress comes us and asked " was your service ok today?" I said "No it could have been better" she rolled her eyes and walked away. In their defense it was lunch rush. * CARRY OUT ORDER- SERVICE WAS BAD. They answered and asked me to please hold one minute. I can her chit chat on the other end. seven minutes later they hung up on me. I call back three times and get a busy signal. We are local residents and have been eating at Canterberry in Blue Ridge since it opened. The food has always been great. The service has been very poor over the past three months. read more

I have been to Cantaberry in Blue Ridge a million times. I have always had great service and the food is always delicious. I went today with my sister-in-laws and was blown away at the rudeness of a particular waitress. (Kristina) When we arrived we were told to get out because the place was at capacity. I told her I understood and asked to put our names in. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait, which was fine. I asked if we could look around the shops and the rude waitress said "I don't care what you do!" When our table was ready, we went in and had the same waitress as our server. When she came to our table to get our drink orders I told her we were ready to order. She ignored my comment. When it came my time to order my drink I said I would have water and we were ready to order. Kristina stated "I heard you the first time and I will get it after I get your drinks and have time." It should be noted that Kristina was only waiting on one other table. I have never been so mad in a restaurant. I was able to keep my tongue, but did request a manager after our food was delivered. I expressed my concerns, paid my bill, and left. I hope and pray the owner reads this review and deals with this employee. I am giving three stars because the food was great, but Kristina was a rude individual, definitely not a lady. read more
