Stopped by here for a quick lunch while doing some shopping. We were pleasantly surprised by this find. Service was friendly and quick. Their in house made chips and salsa are delicious. We shared steak quesadilla and fish and pork tacos on soft tortillas. Everything was great. Drinks are fantastic as well. Blood orange margarita was incredible. Highly recommend! Ambience was nice. CARNITAS FOR THE WIN. Dined here last night for a corporate outing and I may have found my new favorite southwest Florida carnitas, so juicy and flavorful great portions on every taco. The margaritas were just OK, I tried their coco-Rita and wasn't impressed with their house mix. Really fresh and flavorful guacamole. Husband and I are visiting from out of town and stopped in for some lunch. Loved it! Lexi is an amazing employee! Really personable - like she truly cares about each and every customer. There was a happy hour deal on the house margarita so I went with that. Ordered it "skinny" style because I prefer lime juice over the nasty syrup most restaurants use. The outdoor mall is big, filled with chain restaurants and convenient to a number of hotels. My expectations, probably unjust, weren't high. But surprise -- this restaurant is pretty good! T predictably ordered chili rellenos as he does at most every Mexican restaurant he initially visits. (He's on a quest!) Despite being heavily battered, he said these rank high. Easily four stars. My fajitas were good, though definitely improved if the chicken was marinated. The fajitas were served on a sizzling platter laden with sautéed onions and peppers. Our frozen margaritas were too frozen. Once the ice melted to a softer slush the drinks improved, with the flavor enhanced by squirts of lime. This restaurant is pretty. Spacious, too, with seating also available on their covered patio. Our server, Bailey, was on the ball, frequently checking in. It was a good dinner! read more

In Ft Myers for a night and really wanted to get a good meal. One of the hotel staff recommended this restaurant and I'm glad I listened to him, the tableside guacamole was really good, I wanted more.. the peach margarita was also really delicious. Very nice place to grab some taco's and watch some sports. They have an inside and outside dining area. We sat inside, which had many large screen TV sets with different baseball and hockey Stanley cup finals playing. Our waitress Morgan was great! She was attentive and very pleasant. She immediately brought over a basket of chips and salsa which were delicious. I noticed that the chips were seasoned and made them tasty. Morgan then took our drink order and gave us time to look over the menu. When she returned, we ordered two grilled tacos with fried plantains and yellow rice and a Cobb salad. The chicken tacos were excellent. They were served hot and had a really good flavor. The fried plantains were delicious but we're just warm in temperature. The rice, however, was not good at all. It had a chemical taste to them which caused me not to eat it. The salad was good, but I wasn't a fan of the red leaf lettuce in it since I thought it would only be iceberg and romaine lettuce. I've only been here twice I don't really remember how well there food is so it must have not left me an impacts. I do remember their frozen margaritas. They are great! The perfect frozen texture almost reminds me of East LA in Hoboken, NJ. They are famous for their frozen margaritas. If you are from Jersey you just know! Trendy Tex-Mex fare in a busy shopping mall. We had the Tableside Guacamole which they make right in front of you. That was a fun experience, and totally customizable to how it's prepared per your tastes. Huge tequila selection if you want to try something new, or an old favorite. We had the Seafood enchiladas (which my wife enjoyed), and I had the Chicken & Steak Wet Fajitas. It comes in one of the big stone pots, so it was very hot, but the premise of the "wet" dishes here means you spoon the sauce the meat & veggies are cooked in over, or in your dish (in the case of fajitas). I just found the experience to be quite messy, and the sauce not as tasty as you would think it would be. I would say this veers more along the lines of overpriced Mexican food, and unless you're drinking, you're probably better off getting food elsewhere for this type of cuisine. read more

One word. YUM! we're visiting from out of town and tried this place after seeing a billboard. Great food and even better service! Anthony was the best! The service was amazing, super nice and attentive waiter. Manager was also nice. If only they would invest in ordering a corn tortilla maker, fresh tortillas will turn this place around. Mexican Corn is made with mayonnaise, crema, Tajín, cojita cheese and lemon can put a little bit of cilantro. Leave out the chili pepper, please. Had to return it. Nachos and salsa, was ok. Terrible service and terrible food. Came in for an early dinner and the server didn't even approach our table for 10 minutes. Our food took forever to come out... place was empty. Only about 4 other parties when we sat down. There's literally pieces of food all over the floor in the walkways and under the tables. Beans were weird and dry. read more

Came for lunch on Valentine's Day. I was a little concerned because it was pretty empty. We were promptly seated, and ordered drinks. Our water came within a few minutes, but no mention of the sangria I ordered. About 10 minutes went by with no server contact. The bartender eventually came over and said they were out of the glasses to serve the sangria and they were being washed. I should have asked her to put it in another glass, especially since I'm a slow drinker, but didn't think of it. Our server eventually made it back to take our order. My sangria arrived after we'd been there about 30 minutes. Several minutes later the server came back to say that the special I ordered hadn't been prepared for the day yet. I thought that was strange since it was after 1:30. Ok, I chose something else. Our food came out in an acceptable amount of time and was good. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and looked clean. They could use some help communicating with customers a bit more quickly, or better yet, comped the sangria. read more

Our first visit for a couple of months- They have changed the menu and increased the prices of food snd alcohol. The biggest change is in their Happy Hour, which used to be 5 menu choices for $6.99 until 6pm. They also had a daily special. Now they have combined the two, and specify which 1 item is available for each day, at $9.99. Disappointed. Their food was never great, just OK; now it's just OK at higher prices. read more

For starters, the employee Lexi here is a 12/10. Cantina 109 is lucky to have her! She had 2 menus in hand as my boyfriend and I walked up to the front door from the parking lot. She sat us, then served us, and then made our fantastic table side guacamole. Loved the garlic salt and fresh jalapeños...citrus taste with a kick! Got a Diablo margarita and subbed out the jalapeño tequila for a casamigos mezcal YUM. The fresh salsa I can't get enough of and the basket of chips comes full and properly salted. Stopped in for a fantastic dinner on vacation with my family. There were 8 of us. Our server Riley was amazing. We ordered tableside guacamole and queso, which were both great. We ordered takeout and I'm so glad we did. Typically takeout is not as good as eating at the establishment. The menu is the same for takeout as it is to eat there,so it's a bit pricey for takeout.. UNLESS you stumble upon the daily specials.. My husband and I each got the daily special burrito with a choice of a side. I ordered mole sauce because it's my favorite. My side was plantains. The mole sauce was excellent. Everything was delicious and above average. It also came with chips and salsa. Also amazing. Unfortunately I can't go into restaurants due to Covid-19, so takeout is my go to. This takeout was exceptional and only 20 for two meals plus chips and salsa. Friday night I make a pickup order here. One thing to know before making your order is that some things on the menu are not being offered now. They don't say on the menu which ones. I got the daily special burrito. This had pork insides along with the typical burrito toppings. A little cheese was on top and it came with a side. I got the red rice. An order of chips and salsa is provided with each order. The burrito was on the smaller side but still good. Fresh and good flavor. I got an order of mole on the side to dump on top and that make it way better. The red rice side was a little plain but that is rice for you. The chips were warm and the salsa was good. My wife got the same thing but hers didn't come with cheese on top for she reason. The kids burger was very plain. C109 is the best Mexican around . The tortilla Chips are made in-house then sprinkled with their own spices. The Salsa that comes with the tortilla chips has an incredible smoky flavor and the pork carnitas do as well. The staff are always friendly knowledgeable about the menu. I've tried at least seven other Mexican restaurants in the areas of Estero, Bonita and Naples and I found Cantina 109 to be the clear winner. read more

It took an exceptionally long time to get our food and they were not that busy. When we did it was cold and I've had better Mexican food at Taco Bell. The plate wasn't even warm. Ambiance and style is great! But there's a big disconnect with the food and the service. Service was extremely slow with getting our food although our waitress was good. First time coming here and I'm sorry to say I probably won't be returning. I asked the waitress what she'd recommend and it was a fav I usually get everywhere I go to see how they are. So I get the birria tacos and these were the worse ones I've ever had. Barely any flavor other, they were barely filled and the consume that's with it is like a pho broth that's very seasoned but not in a good way. I did not like it at all. It had a very heavy cardomom, star anise taste and I did not enjoy my meal at all because of this. Food otherwise came out a bit cold. And this was on the pricier side at $18 for 2 tacos where everywhere else I've been it's been 3 for that price. We were seated in Allissa's (Cindy Lou Who) section and received great service throughout the meal and she was extremely social and on the mark with taking our order.
