Visited her on a Sunday. Not crowded at all since it was November 6th. Very friendly staff and starting with the chips and salsa we knew this was going to be good. Chips were nice and warm and the salsa was very flavorful and not over the top with heat. I had chicken enchiladas and my wife had the two taco lunch. Both were outstanding and came with rice and beans all of which were very good. One of the best Mexican restaurants we have eaten at and we love Mexican food. Great job guys! I went in with my 8 year old daughter. The hostess looked at us and I could instantly tell she didn't want us there. I went to the hostess stand to put my name down. She looks at me and rudely says it's a 30 min wait. I looked at her and said that's fine, we will wait. So I stand there.... Still standing I finally ask her if she wanted to write down my name. She did, and she wrote down the time frame she gave me. All other names in list had a phone # next to them. Why didn't she ask for my #? Once we sat down, the waitress came eventually. She kept walking by and would say I'll be right there. Finally brought me a water, but nothing for my daughter. I had to ask if my daughter could have water!! Shes 8, not a infant. Food came out dry! I asked for no pico on my tacos. But they also omitted the sour cream and guac. So it came out with meat and cilantro. I ordered the queso and guac appetizer, that came after our food. And the queso tasted like Rotel and Velvetta cheese. Complete disappointment and I would never go again. read more

When my husband and I first moved here last year, this was our go to place. Tonight was my last meal there. The last 3 times were horrible. ( I only give you 3 chances) The food was not hot presentation of the food was not good. Service was just OK. I sent the meal back. This was my third time not being pleased with my food and or my service. I'm not referring this restaurant to anyone ( and I work in an industry that people are always asking me for a good restaurant close) nor will I ever return the cocktails are very good, but that's about it. We stopped in for a quick bite and ended up enjoying happy hour with a few small plates at the bar. The front desk seemed a bit disorganized when we walked in - three people working, but no one looked over or stopped chatting so we just rolled past to two open seats at the bar. Our bartender Jessica was very friendly and gave us a quick rundown of the happy hour menu. I had the classic margarita and my SO went with the frozen strawberry margarita. Both were very good and strong! After a drink, we settled in for some food and went with the happy hour menu - tuna tacos, chicken quesadilla, and a chicken fajita taco. The food was ok for bar food, but by far the drinks were the highlight of the visit. Bar service was quick, friendly, and you really see when a restaurant has the right person in the right job - thank you Jessica! Our neighboring customers were very friendly and the whole experience was relaxing and fun. Decided on Mexican so went to Cantina Laredo. It was a Friday evening and they were pretty busy. The host seemed to be distracted, and couldn't understand what I was saying, so I just sat myself. I walked over to the bar and was greeted by a very friendly young lady (Franchesca??). She made my top shelf margarita and nailed it! Wait staff is just not friendly. The hostess was not impressed with having to seat us and our waiter was just going through motions. We were left alone for a long time with chips and salsa. We had ordered tables idea guacamole and were really disappointed with the presentation. We are frequent visitors to Sandestin and usually visit Cantina Laredo while we are there. I would say the food and service are generally average; the patio and overall atmosphere are nice. Our last visit on 5/29/25 with friends was extremely disappointing. We encountered 3 different staff (hostess, waiter and person who delivered our drinks) and all three had an attitude that they would rather be anyplace other than work. When we were seated on the patio there was food and drink spilled all around our table on the floor. We had to ask for it to be cleaned up. My husband and I both ordered a 2 taco dinner and they brought us a 3 taco dinner. We asked for the bill to be adjusted and they took off $2 from the total bill. We came around 7pm on a Saturday night and was able to be seated right away. Our waiter (Owen) was a bit aloof. It took us about 15 mins to get waters or any waiter to come to our table and acknowledge us. The food was really good. My sister and I shared the chicken and steak fajita combination. Both meats were well seasoned and so tender. I did ask for extra flour tortillas when I initially ordered, but it didn't come. I asked again and got some, and then the woman who hands out the chips and salsa got me even more tortillas. She was super sweet. All day at the beach and a table with Laredo queso is waiting for you. The dark salsa has a hint of cinnamon and a slight kick. The food comes out faster than most Destin's eateries. Nachos with flank steak and individual nachos covered in cheese and a nice piece of steak. The carne asada burrito was ginormous and ohhhh so tasty. Those steak fajitas were perfection. Three tacos with a heaping of rice and beans left this family of four extremely satisfied. Absolutely delicious and best guacamole I have ever had! We drove over from Gulf Shores to shop at Destin outlets today and we were absolutely starving. Found this place and so glad we did. Amazing fajitas, Mexican beans, chips and salsa. I was obsessed with the flavor of their flour tortillas, like YUM! Started off strong and the food was great (once we got it). However, the runner indicated 'chicken tacos' and gave what was actually fish tacos to the wrong person, they completely forgot my entree (which was actually the fish tacos my sister started eating), and my daughter didn't get her sides that come with fajitas. I'm from Texas originally, so I have high expectations when it comes to Mexican food. So here it goes: The good: Probably the best Mexican food in the Destin area. Decent happy hour with okay appetizers and pretty good queso. Decent drinks specials. Service is generally pretty good. Must sit in the bar area for happy hour. The bad: FOOD IS NOT HOT! Everything served is luke warm. Mexican food is supposed to be pipping hot when served. If the waiter brings your dinner holding the plate without hand protection, your food is too cold. Every time I go here I ask the waiter to make sure my dinner is steaming hot. They still bring it out luke warm. I always have to send it back and ask them to microwave it. Dinners are just okay. Nothing special. I prefer enchiladas, but forget trying to get decent enchiladas in this area. No such thing. I'd stick with the fajitas or tacos. Although cold, they are edible. Too bad, I've always wanted to like this place, but just can't stomach the mediocre food. But I guess you don't come to the beach for good Mexican food. Plenty of good seafood options! read more

Whenever we come down to the beach, we're always trying new restaurants....except for Catina Laredo!!! For the past five years it's been a staple to our family vacations, and it never disappoints. They have complimentary chips and warm salsa, and we always opt to have the guac made table side. It's well worth the splurge. We ordered the Cancun entree, which was a trio of two enchiladas and a taco. We also ordered the carne asada fajita burrito, which was spicy but filling (could have been split between two people for sure). They have great margaritas and other mixed drinks. The service is always great, and they're constantly bringing you refills of anything you may need. Recommend making reservations, as they get slammed during the typical busy times. Even if you don't, there are plenty of shops around to spend your time shopping at until your table is ready. read more

I really loved my crispy beef taco, and the rice was very good. The enchiladas on my Cancun combination plate were good. The queso laredo was not really what I like, but the people I was with enjoyed it. My friend got steak fajitas and they looked and smelled wonderful. She seemed happy with them.
