Just tried their delivery service for the first time. New to the hood...excellent food! Made exactly to order, and quite delicious. Limited menu; perhaps because it's Cantonese style?! There were several things we wanted to order but they didn't serve, like Chow Fun. The egg rolls are small but tasty and light, perfectly crisp. We ate the Mu Shu Chicken w/o pancakes, another yummy dish. And special ordered fried tofu with mushrooms and broccoli which was outta this world! Only place on the west side (that I've been to) that had General Tso's Chicken that was prepared properly. Eaten there twice already and both times the food was cheap and delicious. I read the reviews about this place, decided to give it a try myself and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and it was delicious. The chicken was tender and veggies were crisp. The pan fried noodles with shrimp was also yummy. The shrimp were plump Our waiter was very polite and kept the water topped off. Kung pao chicken is the best in LA.

It's hard to find a nice, authentic, & good Chinese restaurant around the LAX area and was pretty excited to find this spot in downtown El Segundo. I tried this place for the first time & I have mixed feelings... When I first sat down, I was "offered" hot tea & water and said "sure". I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce combination (dinner) plate that came with fried rice, soup, & salad for $9.60 available until 6:30pm...thought to myself, wow, price is good. When I got my bill, my total was $12...??? I asked why my bill came to $12 and it turns out they charge $1.50 for hot tea. I've never been to an authentic Chinese restaurant where they charged for hot tea. It's always been a customary "warm" welcome. So that was a bit disappointing. Then as I was approaching the cash register, I read a sign that said there was a $15 minimum for credit card, otherwise you would be subjected to a 4% service charge. It's not much, but really? In this digital age? It just gave me the impression that they are, in little ways, trying to pass on some of their costs of doing business to the consumers. As for the food, the soup and the main dish were delicious. Very tasty. I would give those two items 5 stars. The salad & the pork fried rice, 3.5 stars. Just ate here with my Family. Not that great actually and I was disappointed. LowMein with shrimp had 7 shrimp in total - size were medium but more Low Mein than shrimp and for 10$ it was not worth the plate. Fried Rice is actually brown rice and absolutely no taste. Beef & Broccoli was decent with even portions of meat and vege's. Service was OK - a bit pushy and very difficult to understand them. Worst is having had to be in the bathroom for the last hour now after eating there - yes 4 out of 6 of us.... I live in El Segundo and I love my town but we could do without this type of restaurant here. Recommend a pass if you care to keep "food" in after you eat. read more

I'm comparing apples to apples here and not apples to oranges. If you need a non-pricey and decent chinese lunch or dinner near the area, this is it. I would give the 0 stars but Yelp doesn't give that option. I can't count how many problems I encountered tonight with them. These are some of the rudest people I have EVER encountered in the restaurant business. First off, I ordered no sprouts or mushrooms in my chow mien, to my awesome surprise when they delivered, guess what was in my chow mien? What I asked not to be in there. Before the driver left he handed me my food and took my card to charge me, he then asks me to sign and I try to leave. He then tries TAKING the food from my hand and says "you need to tip." Umm.. Excuse me? I was so annoyed at the point for a $30 meal I tipped $2. And I'm a good tipper and fair tipper, but I was so pissed I couldn't. My friend being appalled at me telling her what happened takes my phone to call them and try and nicely resolve this issue since she works in the restaurant business and knows that all of this was unacceptable. Not only was the owner not there, that manger wasn't there. Both owner and manger were on vacation and wouldn't be back for 3 weeks! Illegal for no one to be supervising incase, I don't know, something like this happens??!!! They offered me a 15% discount off my order. That doesn't even cover the order of egg rolls! We ask for a new plate of chow mien to be delivered the right way and was denied. I could go on about how rude the TWO people I talked to were and how I wanted to go off on the driver but I will instead let you decide if you want to support a business like this. read more

I've only eaten here for lunch... My office moved to El Segundo and lunch after lunch I struck out trying to find the Chinese Food Trifecta: tasty, abundant and cheap. While Canton Low is not quite as cheap as some places on the West Side, I was thrilled to finally find a Chinese restaurant to my liking. Which means they start you with a hot and sour soup. Hot tea. Your meal comes with an eggroll and a wonton. And of course a fortune cookie. They're super nice, with all the workers repeatedly asking how you're doing. The water glass seems bottomless, with all their perfectly timed refillings. And... OK, that's all. No wait! You can sit outside. Parking is easy. And there's a farmer's market there Thursdays or Wednesdays, I forget which. So, if you're looking for decent Chinese food in good quantities with nice service, you'll be pleasantly surprised by Canton Low. read more

Been here many times before not the greatest but for a quick fix it does the job...ordered for delivery yesterday and what a disappoint the driver was very RUDE and exclaimed that the tip was not enough WTH !!! The food was a bigger disappointment did not taste FRESH at all, and come to think of it took a little bit to have it show up as well. I have been going to Canton Low for several years, and also do not get the negative reviews here. The food here is delicious and authentic.Their lunch specials are the best - yummy food that is inexpensive. I usually get the Yu Hsiang Pork or Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. I am a slow eater, and just impressed how the food stays hot on your plate 20 minutes later! Sometimes we order the Wor Wonton Soup - this is probably the best one I have had. The broth is delicious, and it is filled with meat - shrimp, chicken, BBQ pork and beef. My mouth is watering as I type! As for service, it is much better today than over ten years ago. The staff is friendlier, they remembers regulars and what they typically order. The recent remodel freshened up this place as well. Another thing that stands out about Canton Low ishow quickly they turn around your order. It is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the South Bay, and my coworkers get thrilled when we go there! read more

wow, everything here is sub par. absolutely no reason to dine in, horrible decor, id rather be sitting in a mcdonalds. they have christmas lights and those cheap light up paintings you find at swapmeets hanging all around the walls. picknik flower print table cloths... I am from back East, so I may be slightly biased on my opinion of good Chinese food. However, my boss told me he loves this place. Should have known as he's a SoCal guy...This place was less than "meh" actually. I ordered garlic shrimp, spare ribs, egg drop soup (goopy and tasteless) kung pao chicken, egg rolls (I specifically asked if they were egg roll or spring roll) They were spring roll. A good eggroll has bumpy skin, not greasy slick skin. The moo goo gai pan was actually the only edible dish. My family tasted all and we agreed to order another meal and this one went in the trash. Very disappointing. I called in the next day to tell them and the man who answered phone said he would let the owners know. I never heard from them needless to say and wasted $50!! In the middle of my lunch they told me to move my car, because there delivery truck was here (my car was parked in the customer parking area). Wonderful cantonese cuisine restaurant in El Segundo. Have been visiting Canton Low for many years. Their food and service is consistently very good. I am a very regular customer for years. This is a friendly professional Chinese family-owned business that serves consistently excellent and delicious Chinese Food 6 days per week. The portions are huge, and the menu contains various types of dishes with a flexibility on how you would like them. I love their green tea and the variety of perfectly cooked vegetables and meats, soups, noodles and rice dishes. My personal favorite is the delicious House Chop Suey with the White ginger-type sauce. It is filled with Shrimp, Beef, Chicken, and Barbecued Pork, with a variety of heathy vegetables. I know that I have gotten all my veggies for the day with just this one meal. They also give you the option of steamed vegetable dishes if you are really eating healthy. The lunch special and combination plates for dinner are very popular. Lemon Chicken is one of my favorites when I have a little sweet tooth. I love the real green tea also that comes with your meal complimentary (they offer a variety of beer, wine, sake and soft drinks, as well).
