After obtaining four bids on a new AC and heating system, we chose Canyon State AC & Heating to install a new Trane system. They were not the cheapest; in fact, they were highest by a slight amount. The deciding factor was the thoroughness of Martin, the estimator, who spent a great deal of time in our attic, measuring and taking pictures. The others spent a few minutes looking at things, and then listed the standard thing they would do (no real details), and gave us an overall price. Martin found several non-standard items that needed to be done or repaired and showed us pictures. The installation crew with James, Nick and Victor showed up right on time and were there almost ten ours. I monitored the whole job, and was amazed they replaced ALL of the ductwork and plenum boxes connected to the unit with perfectly sized, insulated materials. They found one of the distribution ducts disconnected (it should have been caught during our regular service) and fixed it. When they were done, you could not tell they were ever here; the cleanup was that thorough. We had a Trane before, but the new technology is fantastic. As I repeatedly read during my research, it isn't so much the brand you pick; it's the installation that is the most important part, and I Can assure you that Canyon State is the best you can get. Our 21 yr old Trane was starting to have problems (yes after 21 years). The friday before a 3 day weekend we had someone come out to estimate the replacement cost - the AC died the night before (of course). We had planned on replacing it, but now we couldn't get one until after the weekend. The salesman, Martin was helpful to get us discounts to reduce the cost (including senior and loyal customer). Jerrel - the AC tech arrived while Martin was here out and put in a temporary part so we had AC over the 100 + degree weekend YEA !! and didn't charge us YEA YEA!! The following tuesday Drew and James did the install. We love the new unit. It is an XR 15 and so quiet! Although we only had it two weeks of the billing period we saw a drop in usage. That is impressive since we keep the house at a comfortable 72 to 74 during the day (and 71 at night). Everyone we dealt with were professional and caring. THe Trane is most expensive, but based on our experience with our old one - well worth it. We had it working hard and still lasted 21 yrs (can you imagine how long it would have lasted if we kept it set at 75 during the day). Plus Trane provides a 1 yr parts and labor warrenty. Canyon State, out of their local Sun City office. We had a good experience w/Canyon State, & they are still a reliable source for our continuing maintenance needs. Several other HVAC companies either failed us, didn't return calls, or did not show for appointments. Canyon State was prompt to call back, schedule a consult, and arrange for removal & installation of two full systems (1st & 2nd fl). They explained things well, are never pushy, & have always followed up after any service. Since installation we opted to take part in their scheduled maintenance program. Every 6mo they come out to do basic upkeep, & advise what to expect as the systems age. *During the installation our street was shut down while a house was raided by Surprise PD (sketchy ice cream truck business), and the crane to deliver the units was on the wrong side of the barricade. This delayed things and added unnecessary tension as the installation crew was advised by officers in full SWAT gear and assult rifles to stay inside. Yet despite all this the Canyon State crew took it all in stride and, once the street was cleared by police, finished the installation without issue. read more

The response from Canyon State Air proves my point, they are in such a hurry to find any reason to void the warranty. They now make claims on what I said that are not accurate. They are very defensive and attacking rather than working to help their customer. Here is another reason you should not consider Canyon State, they MISSED the whole point. Why would I be calling about my warranty? Because MY AC WAS DOWN. Poor customer service often misses the point of "why is the customer calling, how can I help my customer". So I had a problem of 105 degrees outside and my AC is down and was wanting to get it fixed. Instead of understanding my problem and offering solutions or options, they were totally focused on getting OUT of their warranty. So they missed the opportunity to get my business, fix my problem, get revenue, and now made sure I will never be a Canyon State Air customer. They took an opportunity to talk with a customer and turned it into hostility and creating an enemy. Who would want to do business with a company with this approach to customers? read more

We had Canyon State install a new Daikin A/C and Furnace in our home in Sun City West. I had noticed their store on Camino Del Sol, their trucks and read their many reviews on line. My neighbor and another friend commented how pleased they were with Canyon State when their A/Cs went down in the heat of summer. Canyon came out quickly, fixed the problem and did it right. Well, that was enough for me. I asked for an estimate and was pleased with the result. Mike came out the same day and explained everything, answering all of our questions. Manny, Steven and Drew showed up on time, did a great job of installing the units, cleaned up all of the mess when they were done, were personable, friendly and showed us how to use the thermostat, change the filter and receive our rebate from APS. We are new to Sun City West and getting this kind of service is appreciated in a new environment. I recently had issues with a leak in the coil in my 5-year-old Carrier unit; Jorel came out within 2 hours (if that), found the problem and as it turned out the part was still under warranty. A week later when the replacement coil came in (and a new 5-year warranty on it) Jorel & a coworker promptly came out & got the job done . I was very pleased with the service & the office staff (Amanda, Michelle, Trina et al) are all courteous, professional, and very friendly. I was impressed enough that a month later when I decided I wanted/needed a whole-house water filtration system I called them, Bobby came out & explained how the Filtersorb SP3 saltless anti-scale system works. I trust this company enough that I didn't call anyone else. Kudos to Bobby, Jae, and Joe on an excellent installation and all I can say is best.water.ever. Fabulous customer service from the start when Jessica answered our call I informed her of our issue and she was able to get someone out to our home ASAP, then when Jay arrived he was absolutely wonderful, he respected our home, he took care of our issue until we were able to get ahold of our contractor without turning the water off on our entire home. What really meant a lot to us is that he even took the time to answer OUR questions regarding the company, I wanted to know more about them, I called them after seeing great reviews on yelp and now I know why, they deserve the five stars if not more!!! WE even asked Jay more questions about watering systems because the water here in AZ is not that great and he took the time to explain the systems and never pressured us into buying one right then and because of not having been pressured but answering my questions when we do get ready to make that investment we will be there! I scheduled to have a maintenance done to my heater. I had some concerns as to why I am paying as much as I am for my electric bill. I asked for a 30 min call before arrival so I can get my dogs put in the bedroom and I received a call just as I asked. Saul came out to see me and he arrived at the appointed time. He was very polite and explained what he was going to be doing. He answered all my questions and gave me some suggestions on how to get better air flow. It is a nice treat and a breath of fresh air to have a technician come out and explain things I didn't understand as well as offer me suggestions to save energy and make my system work more efficiently. Some companies make you feel pressured and frightened into buying a lot of stuff you don't need. Saul explained possible things that will make my system work better but without the pressure. From the 1st day that we dealt with Canyon State to the present we have NEVER been unhappy. Martin was terrific with the estimate and checking everything that would need to be done. The office help is always helpful, polite and knowledgeable. I wish I could name each and everyone I have talked to when I call in. Today Amanda was really helpful when I called. The crew that installed the unit was terrific, did a great job and cleaned up everything before they left. I especially like having Gabe Maestas come out to service our unit. My Trane heat pump just started making weird noises. Called Canyon State. Canyon State, Pablo and assistant arrived shortly after 9 AM and fixed the problem by 10:30 AM plus added a hard start capacitor to reduce starting current to 63 amps that before install was 129 amps. Also explained that it would be an excellent idea to start a service plan that entailed creating a service call semi annually to check out operation of the heat pump system. Very good explanation of what was wrong (bad capacitor) plus why it was a good idea to add the hard start capacitor. This is the second time I was advised to add a hard start capacitor. First time was on my replaced Heat Pump System. Why Trane does not install it during manufacture is a question, I forgot to ask? Very efficient repair and we are cool again!! read more

We recently bought a new A/C system from Canyon State AC. The AC tech who installed it was Mr. James Dunkins and he did a fantastic job. He started early in the morning, stayed on task and never stopped to eat lunch. Canyon State sent trucks out to the house to pick up the old system and dispose it. By 3:30 PM it was done. I have looked everything over and can't find any leaks or loose fittings. The brand name of the unit is Daikin - a japanese company that has made them for years and according to reviews online is a good AC system AS LONG AS THEY ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY!!! So far it seems James did the job right. The AC works great, its quiet compared to the old unit and their finance terms were great. Thank you so much James, Mike G. and everyone at Canyon State AC. FANTASTIC SERVICE 9-3-2015 - Called Canyon State Air Conditioning at 2:45pm with an error code of 126 showing on thermostat and red light in upper right corner and a room temp of 86.. Technician, Trent Schuler, was dispatched and arrived at 3:00pm. He checked the thermostat to validate error code and immediately said you've had a power failure for some reason. He went to the electrical box for the house, flipped the breaker for the A/C and at the A/C box removed the fuse and removed the cover to the unit to examine the wires. A wire nut had broken and allowed the wires to short out. He then striped, cleaned, and replaced the wire nut and examined all wire nut connections. Had the unit running again at 3:30pm. We had to replace our pair of 20-year-old Trane A/C units (I know, lucky us, right?) and did our due diligence by getting quotes and advice from a number of Trane Authorized dealers. Not only did Canyon State come in with the best pricing "out the door", but they offered the most comfort and advice for what we ended up getting. They completed the installation of both units in less than 8 hours and we couldn't be happier. From start to finish, this was a really great experience with something we obviously weren't looking forward to for a long, long time. I have to say that this is a company that you can trust! I had another heating place come out to evaluate our heating problem. They told me we had multiple issues with our capacitor, and had leaks in the system. They wanted a minimum of 145.00 to diagnosis where the leak was coming from. I then called Canyon State and Gabe Maestas came out and within 10 minutes, he said he found the problem. It was not a capacitor, it was not a leak, it was a part that regulated the amount of freon to the system. Gabe ordered the part, called when it came in and came out to install the part. Best part of all was everything was covered under warranty. If you need any help with heating or air conditioning, Canyon State is the company that you can trust! I have been a customer of Canyon State for awhile now and have mainly used them for my AC needs. I have always been highly satisfied, from the scheduling to the timely and professional work done. This past week right before Thanksgiving, I had the unfortunate circumstance of having not only my garbage disposal to go out, but also my shower faucet. I knew Canyon State had a plumbing division so I called and they sent Jae right out. I am very pleased with Jae's work, he was on time and courteous, as well as he cleaned up after himself. I have been a customer of Canyon State for the past four years. I first approached them upon learning of their continued support for our community. I have always found them to be responsive and reasonable. The integrity of their personnel is extremely important to one who knows little of their industry. No commissions, no effort to sell me something I do not need. I have used them for my air conditioning needs as well as for some plumbing "opportunities". I recently purchased my second air conditioning unit from them for our second home and can say that their sales team and the technicians continue to be professional and darn good at what they do. Ignacio Valenzuela arrived at the appointed time in a truck with the company logo wearing clothing bearing the company logo. When I answered the door, he handed me his business card with photo ID and introduced himself. Before beginning work, he talked to my husband and I, explained what he planned to do and asked if we had any questions or concerns. Ignacio went about his work in a quiet and professional manner. When finished, he checked in with us again and gave a report of what he found. There were things that weren't perfect because our unit is older, but he said that it is perfectly serviceable. We just had a new heating/ac unit installed today. When I called, Jennifer was very quick to get someone on the phone to help. Martin came out to look at our old unit and made his recommendations on a new one. We knew that we were going to need one, but there was no pressure whatsoever by anyone. He immediately scheduled an installation within 2 days. Kyle and James were the installers and they were very kind, congenial, professional and prompt with their work.
