Well, the difference between Mother's Day brunch 2021 & 2022 could not have been more extreme. On the one hand 2021 had plenty of options and was very reasonably priced. Enter 2022! Especially bad if you live in California, which used to be the best State! Thanks Newsom! But enough of that. I'm actually shocked at the offerings for $100 per plate. I was expecting delicious, hot food in abundance, expert waitstaff and tons of coffee and tea options. I didn't see any of this! It was exactly like the million other golf course brunches, with far less options at double the price. I appreciate that "champagne" and mimosas were free flowing but we didn't partake in it. We wanted cappuccinos and lattes but there was none of that. Chafing dishes of poorly scrambled eggs, half-cooked bacon, some fresh fruit and a salad or two. A decent seafood station with clarified butter (one great idea!) Seemed totally out of place across from unremarkable "bakery" items. "Carving station" consisted of a dry turkey breast that may have been roasted on site but the ham OMG. Not a real ham but the processed kind that has been sleeved and tied like a bologna! It took 6 days for the shock to wear off and the regret to set in! I fully enjoyed my children, they both had something nice to say about the liege-style waffle and parking was easy. That is it for the positive. And while there was a ton of personnel buzzing all around in total immaturity, I didn't see a sign of what I would consider "service" at $100 per plate or $25 per plate. I have no idea what anyone here was thinking in preparation for moms big day out but I will not be back to find out. So sad read more

My girlfriend wanted to take me here for my first time. It was roughly an hour and twenty minutes away. I decided to give it a shot and go. We showed up to the country club and sat ourself. Waited for roughly 15 minutes with no one coming to ask us for service, water, or menus. Walked passed the bar area to see a worker on his phone and the chef was talking to a group of people for the duration of our wait. We decided to take our losses and leave. This is my go to brunch spot on Sundays. The food is great quality, the service is excellent and my kids are still under the age limit for them to be free haha jk! Seriously, my favorite brunch spot and a good spot to take guests from out of town cause its inside of The Crossings Golf Resort. On Fri 8/24/18, met friends for drinks. They had music. Drinks good and music fabulous. Musician played guitar and took requests. I requested Fats Domino, Blueberry Hill, and lo and behold he was in his 30's, but knew song and did a great job. Service very good. My wife ate a light dinner and she said was very good. It's ok. We came on a Friday to enjoy the live music which was great. The service was so slow but beyond that the food was so poor. We returned nearly every item we ordered (hot wings, bogey fries, brie). There was no cheese on the fries, we returned and still the sauce was missing again. The Brie cheese was coagulated and sharp to taste. The carrots and celery with the wings were rotten. We had to walk up twice to ask for help because our waiter was not around. We are really the least high maintenance people. This was ridiculous. It's been 15 minutes since we asked for our check and we still can't find our waiter. read more

I would give this place 3.5 stars, but since that is not an option I'm going with 4. This review is for the brunch on Sunday. The food is better than average, overall. I did notice, however, that the chicken and dumplings was cold and I heard another person complain about the sausage being cold too. There is no pancake station, as another reviewer represented. The omelet was perfect. I wish the desserts were served in smaller portions so you could try a little bit of each. The atmosphere is okay, but I thought the creme tablecloths and burgundy napkins made the place look dated. It would look a lot better if the tablecloths and napkins were white. The service was good, except my pet peeve about buffets, is they keep taking your silverware when clearing the dishes and don't provide a replacement. They should have extra silverware on the buffet line to solve this. read more

Came here on a Sunday. There is a brunch buffet, but we wanted to order from the happy hour menu (it's during football season) and we're seated in the patio. Great view of people playing golf. Ordered the carnitas nachos, the sliders with flight of beers, bowl of fruit, and a few beers. The sliders were a lot bigger than you would get from other places, beers were cold and nachos were more than enough. Good quality balanced with quantity, plus able to watch a few snaps of football. Not impressed. Food is ok nothing special. Service is not good. We went here for lunch and it took them 40 minutes to get our food. Our water glasses were not filled even after she said she would be back to refill them. I ordered a country club which is turkey and bacon. What a mistake. I really thought I would get a real turkey meat for a $12 sandwich. I was wrong. So if you're planning to come to the canyons at the crossings don't order any sandwich with turkey meat. Great Sunday brunch! All you can drink mimosa's and a great selection on their buffet. I've only been here once for Sunday brunch and then another time for brunch/lunch on a Saturday but this place is never busy, which I cannot figure out why!!?? My friends little boy had their banana bread french toast which was just amazing! YUMMY! I tried the breakfast burrito with tater tots (big fan of the tots) and that was great too. Their prirces are pretty reasonable as well (my burrito was only $5). In addition to the great food, the staff is always very friendly and attentive. Having brunch here and then heading over to the outlet mall to walk off all of the calories is a great way to spend the day. This place is definitely a hidden gem! read more

I love this place! Being a Carlsbad resident, and living really close to The Crossings, I dine at the Canyons on a regular basis. I have recently discovered their unlimited champagne Sunday brunch which has become my new favorite way to spend my Sundays! I receive their newsletter and read about all the great events they do, but have yet to attend. It just never seems to work with the schedule, but it's great to hear that other people have enjoyed them. As far as holding a private event at The Crossings, if they are able to sell out the place for $8,000 (as another review stated), than GREAT for them!!! And, even better for us Carlsbad residents and taxpayers! It seems like they have weddings all the time, so if that means they are making more money for the city, then what is there to complain about??? I myself have actually hosted two small business luncheons in the Rosten Room (spelling???) and I was definitely not held to that minimum, so maybe you should call them again. I would not hesitate to recommend The Crossings to any of my friends for great food and a great atmosphere, or to any of my colleagues for a professional meeting location, as all of my experiences have been exceptional. read more

This restaurant nearly ruined our Valentines Day lunch. Literally 40 minutes before our reservation, they called to inform us that the confirmed reservation we'd made 3 days before would not be honored. Why? ....They didn't want to serve us in the dining room, where we'd reserved a table, because they wanted to set up early for the evening guests. "Of course , you're still welcome to come (NOT) and sit on our outdoor patio" ( in the sun, with the wind and cold.) The manager made it VERY clear they did not want us there at all. So... our server Corey was hands down FIVE stars no question. We arrived pretty early around opening, but it quickly got busy and he still was on his A game checking on us and other tables with a smile. He was patient with a dramatic guest which was nice to see someone handle eloquently. The reason for the 1 star drop is that food wasn't overly exciting. Mind you, that didnt keep us from enjoying our share of prime rib, shrimp and desserts, but the excitement of all you can eat quickly faded as we actually went to eat it. The view is amazing and the service all around compares to fine dining from check in to exit. Just too hard to choose this next time over breakfast at beach plum, toast, or breakfast republic- all choices that would have fared similar with choice items and drinks. Whenever we are in Carlsbad, it's a family tradition to stop by The Crossings for their Sunday brunch. Such a good value especially since kids under 7 are free! Love the omlet station and prime rib. I came here for the Sunday brunch, and it was amazing. The five stars is mainly for the customer service from our waiter. I wish I remembered his name. He was awesome! Very attentive! He made sure that me and my mother had more than enough refills for our mimosas. Always asked if we were okay and if we needed anything. He gave us clean silverware when he seen we had new plates of food. I could go on on and on but you get the point. The food was good. They have everything that you could ask for at a brunch. If I could award negative stars on Yelp I would. If you like prime rib that is dry like jerky, warm mimosas that are called "bottomless" yet no one ever refills, "fresh" fruit that is mushy and tastes like fish, "homemade" gravy with large chunks of dried spices that look and taste like twigs in your food all topped off with the most inattentive virtually absent service in all of California then the Canyons is your place! And if you'd like to pay an exorbitant price for this plethora of horrible food and "service" then this is even a better place for you! So pack up the whole family next Sunday and take them to Sunday brunch at the Canyons. Don't forget to mortgage your house and check your taste buds at the door because you and yours will be treated to the worst meal you've ever had but at least you'll get to spend time together as a family because you'll never have any type of employee stop by your table to check on you. My first visit here with friends for Easter Brunch. The brunch served for holidays is pricier and has more offerings, especially the hot dishes and desserts. We all agreed it was very nicely done, the food selection was very good and all the food was yummy. The setting is beautiful with some ocean view, mountains and golf course. Our servers were very attentive and helpful. Lots of veggie selections and also carved prime rib, salmon, chicken and root beer marinated short ribs all quite tasty. Not a big cold seafood selection, otherwise I would have rated them 5 stars. Oh and one thing they need to change is giving you clean silverware for your dessert. It is just kind of yukky when you have to use your meat fork to eat dessert, although I requested another fork and got one. We were told several times "save your utensils". Dirty plates were cleared promptly and any request was quickly met. Definitely a revisit is called for here. read more

Went to the "Friday Unwind" for the second time. First time was teriffic. Second time, they were having a wedding in another area of the restaurant. The kitchen and the wait staff were totally overwhelmed. Service was very slow and all the food was overcooked and cold when delivered. So don't go if there is another function going on. Also the music is set up in a far corner of the patio, so only about a third of the patio can hear the music. Come on guys, fix it! read more

Enjoyed our sunday brunch at Canyon Restaurant. Nice seating that looks out to the golf course. The buffet was 21.99 per adult and 11.99 for child. Enjoyed the moist tender prime rib, omelets, lox bagels, french toasts, mimosa, and desserts. The only downside was that they were limited in the seafood department. For the limited food that was available, it was good. For the price they charge, very little food. Nothing really for lunch items, prime rib, turkey, pasta and I believe maybe 2 other items. Very limited on breakfast also, French toast, pancake (stuck to the pan) eggs, sausage, potatoes, bacon and biscuits and gravy. They had an omelet station, very long line anytime you went over. Desert options had 3 or 4 items. For $25 a person, I expected more, quite disappointed. Everyone is trying to replace belle fleur since it closed, same price, less options and sad! read more

I'm a member of the golf club here for years and for some reason just never take the time to stop after and eat in the Canyons. This past Friday I had some friends come down from OC and we played AND ate. Service and staff were great. We had Lucy and Joaquin serving us and they did a great job, very responsive and proactive. We were happy with them. I had the turkey club with the sweet potato fries. Both were perfect. My wife and I are on a hunt for the best sweet potato fries in north county and these are now in the running the dip for them was really good. Turkey club was great, can't pick on it, very solid. I will start with the one negative and move on to all the positives. Negative: - They basically never answer the phone or return voicemails. I called 19 times (I just went back and counted) and a person answered one of those times. Positives: - When I finally did get to talk to someone (Corey) he was very pleasant and took my reservation for 15 people. - My husband and I arrived about 30 minutes early and our table was all ready to go so they let us sit and order drinks while we waited for the rest of our party. - Our waitress Katie was very pleasant and always kept our drinks full. - The drinks were great! When you hear "bottomless mimosas" and "Bloody Mary Bar" you think...ok these are not going to be great but they actually were!! You can order a mimosa and it will come out with a pretty standard ratio or you can ask for a full glass of Brut with a little side of OJ or none at all so you can make it how you want it. And it's not so much a "Bloody Mary Bar" but rather you order a bloody mary....from the bar but my husband was pleasantly surprised by how good they were. - The food was actually surprisingly good with tons of options. We all hit up the Build Your Own omelet bar and we all loved it! They had mushrooms, red bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, bacon, ham and cheese and they make it right there in front of you. They also had French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs, 2 different salad options, a couple pasta options and a prime rib carving station. They also had a bagels and lox setup, a pastry table and a full dessert table. So many options. My favorite was the omelet and the French toast and my nephew was obsessed with the biscuits. - The dining room and the view! You can see it when you are driving up and it is just beautiful and even more so from the inside. Every detail, is gorgeous from the beams and stacked stone to the full wall of windows overlooking the mountains and the ocean view. It's honestly stunning. -The price. We reserved a table on thanksgiving morning for brunch. it was a set menu buffet style. great service and the best brunch i had on this vacation. there was a sweet potato and ham dish which was delicious! it went perfect with my fried eggs and french toast. my kids were excited about the freshly baked cookies.. great view of the golf course and very easy to make reservations. great experience all round! thanks!! read more
