Caoba has good food but i don't like the customer service it's terrible example today i asked for a bigger piece of salmon an i didn't get it an it's always like that Coaba needs a new owner an new employees but there customer service is the wrong‼

The food is amazing for a great affordable price. Not a cozy place to eat and noisy. Servers are sometimes mean!

Best Dominican food on this side of Brooklyn. The only thing that sucks are the long lines and limited tables. Food is on point!

What are you gonna get? Or maybe I should say WHO?…read moreAre you gonna get the doughy guy at the door who takes 15 mins to amble over to the host stand who can't seem to figure out how to seat you (even with a reservation?) Or are you going to get the professorial woman who acts like she could rescue Apollo 13 while mixing a dry martini while reading Joan Didion? Are you gonna get an airy twink as a server who wants to go back to Bushwick and lets you know that at every second, or are you going to get a serious experience with a focused, professional server. Ya never know. This used to be part of the charm, but now it's a liability because friends (and other chefs in the neighborhood) never want to go to Diner because...ya never know what it'll be. Diner has never coasted on continuity. They change up the menu every day. They write it on the paper tablecloth, for Chrissakes. But I still love that! I still find most of the food to be delicious (if pricey), I still think their cocktails are well-made (even if their bar is weirdly slow) and I love their brunch and I love the vibe, and I'm glad it's still here. Their Caesar salad is overrated, as is the burger, but they're always mixing it up. You could get lucky. Ya never know...

Cozy interior, but the concept seemed like...trying too hard to be different and hip...? Why do you make your waiters write down the menu on the table for each group of guests? Doesnt even save paper since those menus are not reused. And honestly, our waiter's handwriting was sometimes hard to read. Also, quite pricey. The crab pasta was $35, the celery root was also $35 (like what?!), the squash was $23, and the Caesar salad (not pictured) was $22. Service was friendly and knowledgeable on the food but slow.

Tiny little place, lightly decorated with Mexican themes. Came here based on Yelp's high ratings…read moreand it certainly lived up to praise. If you're looking for fanfare, this ain't the place. But if you're looking for some excellent, straight forward, wonderfully crafted simplicity, this is in your wheelhouse. A quesadilla is a quesadilla, a hamburger a hamburger. Sounds boring? Not when your hamburger and quesadilla are amongst the best you've ever had at any diner, anywhere. Our waitress was very nice and allowed us to dine, unbothered. We ordered a fresh fruit platter for dessert. It included watermelon, mango, grapes, apples, strawberries, etc. very nice, well presented. The dining area certainly belies what happens in that kitchen behind the door. I'll be back to try some more simple, but excellent food.

We were staying in the neighborhood and trying to find a spot within walking distance for dinner…read more After wandering around for awhile, we landed on Jey Diner after walking past. This spot has a handful of tables and while we were there, quite a few to-go orders were picked up as well. Though we were the only diners, so I assume it's more of a breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is rather expansive with options from breakfast to lunch and dinner. After studying the menu, we opted for the Veggie Burger and the Meatball Parm Po'Boy. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long as we were the only diners, but we were not in a rush so it was fine. As the restaurant was unassuming, I honestly had pretty low expectations, but we both really enjoyed our meals. It was definitely large portions and really flavorful. My fiance said the Meatball Parm Po'Boy was delicious and I appreciated that the veggie burger seemed to be made in house as it was falling apart (in a good way) and you could distinguish some of the veggies. I ended up only eating about half of my burger and took the rest for lunch the next day and it held up well.

I eat out at a LOT of different places. I usually go to restaurants once and then never again…read morebecause NY has so many options... I WILL be back here! This has definitely made it to my staple list because it was THAT good! The pancake has a cornbread vibe to it but it's fluffy like a pancake and the hazelnut maple praline topping?! Omg I dipped my biscuit and my French toast right into the leftover sauce. The drinks were so tasty... some restaurants go either too light or too heavy on either the juice or the alcohol but the drinks were well crafted. The fries are so so so good.... I would go back for the fries alone LOL It's a tight space but they have plenty of seating and I went on a Sunday afternoon and had no issue getting a table. My waiter was also super attentive and knew the menu very well... 10/10 no complaints!!!

It really elevated the flavor. The biscuits were light and flaky, and the gravy complemented them perfectly and was quite flavorful on its own. The praline pancake was also quite good. I did like their take on a traditional pancake. The breakfast sandwich was good, but it didn't blow me away considering the price And the high bar for breakfast sandwiches in the city. Overall, this is a very solid breakfast spot. I think there are better options, but it's worth trying. The atmosphere inside is comfortable, and the service is friendly and efficient, so I can't complain.

The mix of a thousand island type sauce with ketchup made this burger a 10/10. The sesame bun gives the burger a great softness with all the other textures. + the fries gave me the feeling of an elevated mcdonald's fry! caesar salad was perfect. Lots of lettuce, not overly anchovy and just the croutons were soft and crisp at the same time? very much enjoyed how big of a portions all of these items were. chicken parm sauce was tangy and had good flavoring with the perfect melted cheese on top of the soft but crisp edges of the chicken. i'd highly recc all three items we got! service was quick once we got seated and was nice to be outside in the warm weather.

While they have all the traditional breakfast fare, I was so happy to see it also had a Caribbean twist to it. I couldn't help myself--I had to order rice and beans with pernil (pork shoulder) and a side of sweet plantains. Of course, I wanted some actual breakfast items, so we got the French toast loaded with fruit. We also got both the tres and quatro golpes, which is a traditional Dominican breakfast. Lastly, we got a Caribbean omelet. My rice and pernil was solid. The rice could've used a tad bit more seasoning but when mixed with the side of beans and plantains plus a drizzle of hot sauce it was perfect. They had a variety of sauces--Tabasco (my fave), a Jamaican one that was super spicy, and a mild homemade one. The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. I'd say the Caribbean items stole the show though. The place has a typical diner vibe and is on the small side. Food was served quickly and service was good. Discount if you pay in cash. I will be coming back to try their Cuban!!

Apparently there is more than one location in Manhattan. The inside reminded me of a classic diner. Comfy and with a pretty cool vibe. We all slid into a booth and looked over the seasonal offerings along with their standard menu. I was lured by the chicken Kyiv based on the picture of having two rolled up chicken cutlets stuffed with dill and other yumminess, but was a bit disappointment when it arrived with a single small cutlet on my plate with two heaping mounds of potatoes mash and broccoli. I instantly had regret when I should have gotten the borscht soup with pierogies, but wanted to try something I wouldn't usually. I should've stuck to what was safe. My work mom got the stuffed cabbage and that was a clear homerun- really loved the mushroom gravy that it came with. My other colleague got the potato pancake and wasn't too thrilled with it, while my boss got the two Swedish meatballs that he described to be Ikea worthy. Although this was my first time here, I can't say that anyone really loved the food nor would come out of their way to come back. I really was hoping this would have wow-ed me in some way, but I guess I'll stick to what's familiar.
