Tasty Delmonico with sautéed mushrooms. Broccoli is frozen so it's a hard no. Wish I would've selected a different or another side and very bland. Sat at the bar with friendly staff and good music. Reasonably priced Steak is a must! Eastside Gem.

Turkey Club

This little joint is a good spot for nice bite comfort food. There are a variety of options on the menu and a steady but increased flow of cutomers. There were groups and individual customers. Our group had two fried catfish meals, two Philly Cheese Steaks, and Turkey Club. The standard sides range from fries, coleslaw to veggies. The portions are better than most places that squeeze to the smallest portions possible. With that being written, we have a new spot to get our catfish on. Skip the coffee though...lol. Also, nice and professional service.

the The service has declined tremendously. I specifically asked for fresh bread & potatoes and it was hard and cold. The food (salmon, veggies & potatoes) was served on a tray instead of a plate. Extremely disappointed. Bring the old owners back. HURRY!

Broiled cod and Jumbo Shrimp

Can you say steak by the ounce?! Located on Gratiot just south of 8 Mile Rd., Capers has been a neighborhood favorite for years. The space is kind of small and the tables are packed in tight so you can expect to get pretty cozy with the patrons next to you. The area is complete with a full service bar and a salad bar in the back. There is often a wait and they don't take reservations but the food and the prices make it worth it. In addition to the chicken, seafood and pasta entrees they offer huge baked potatoes that can be loaded up how you please. And they are most known for their Cuts of Delmonico (or rib-eye), New York Strip, T-Bone, and Filet Mignon steak by the ounce. So you can order the cut to match your appetite. On most weekdays certain cuts are on special for a discount. My favorite is Friday when there is a cod fish fry which can also be prepared broiled. Add a few of the a la carte jumbo shrimp and you have a winner of a combo. Service is friendly but sometimes drags a little but I chalked it up to how utterly busy the place is always with every table full. One thing can be said and that is that everyone is usually laughing and enjoying themselves which is the general ambiance of the spot. If you want friendly serve, good prices and yummy food check them out.

Honestly, I used to come here for the Monday T-Bone special. Where else can you get a 27 oz steak from a steakhouse for under $40? Usually it's like 30 something dollars and you'll be all set! The steaks come out just like you asked them to, the sides are always good and super big. If you get a potato, expected to feed two people possibly. The worst part about going is waiting at the door to get seated. But I get that because sometimes you just have to make sure you actually have seats for everybody trying to enjoy the same food. I only say that because it's not really any space to wait and you have to sit there, or stand there, and the doorway. But once you sit down you're great! And don't even give me started on the drinks lol! If you don't watch yourself you may be feeling extra good because of those! But this is a HomeTown favor for me. I wish they had one in the city that I'm at now. For the price, you're definitely winning!

A Detroit staple! Whether you're getting carry-out or dining in (I've done both) you're sure to get the best steak you've ever tasted.

We also loved the beets with garlic sauce, the potatoes, and the citrusy carrots, which added a refreshing balance to the meal. For dessert, the pavlova was good, though more tart and lemon-forward than we expected. The Punetazo cocktail was unique and worth trying. Service from Francesca was fantastic, attentive throughout the meal. Free on-site parking is available, and reservations are definitely recommended.

I rounded down to three stars, sorry Barda! I wanted to love it but it was just okay…read more I thoroughly read reviews and ordered dishes that seemed popular and good however, I wouldn't say anything tasted outstanding. All our dishes were fine though, I guess that is why I feel a bit disappointed. Free street parking is great! And when we arrived at 5pm (opening time), all spots were basically full so I took that as a great sign. We entered the restaurant (fun vibe, red lights, music is loud) and were welcomed in right away. I was excited! So the cocktails are great but I would say nothing like overly unique but loved the Margarita (Earth, Wind & Fire), the El Cuco was pretty good, very ginger forward which I like but not spicy at all. The Old Fashioned (why no single ice cube??) was good also. Next, the appetizers: Beets (presentation is excellent) however this dish just tastes like beets (simple and fine), the sauce adds a nice touch but other than that, it was just like okay, nothing special (I wouldn't order again for that price). Next was the Carne y Hueso which we liked. The sourdough bread is not too sourdough-y (good for me since I don't actually like sourdough) and we asked about the best way to eat it which is to spread some bone marrow first then top with the steak tartare. I would say this had a very rich and meaty taste (I haven't had marrow much) which is expected. We liked it. Main: Black Rice with scallops (several small scallops hidden underneath). The black rice was chewy and tasted pretty good/flavorful. My hubby said the dish smelled a little like truffles?? but didn't taste that way (good because he doesn't care for truffles), I didn't think it did (I love truffles). The scallops had a very mild flavor. I would say if you love scallops you may be disappointed but this was fine for me since I don't. Bife- the steak was cooked to our desired level (medium rare) but seemed to lack flavor. I liked the chimibutter and we enjoyed the grilled onion that came with this dish. Overall, I would say the Bife was fine. The kitchen is open so you can see the flames of the fire for the grilling area & the fire pit outside seemed great (on a less cold/snowy night). Note, I think there are 2 separate single bathrooms (one in separate corners of the restaurant) but I didn't realize that until after I waited in a line to use it. Well, I like trying new places, some are hits and some aren't. Thank you for a nice evening Barda.

We had 2 couples and they customized the menu for us based on our likes and dislikes. We got 5 courses starting with appetizers, followed by pasta (which I forgot to get photos of), then sides, entrees and dessert. Plus a little aperitif to start the meal off. Zero complaints about any of the dishes. My favorite dish was probably the artichokes and the steak. So delicious! The atmosphere at the restaurant was very fun and modern. And our server was very knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions about the dishes. We were promptly seated and greeted my our waitress, Mary. She was very attentive and knows the menu. She explained every dish and made excellent recommendations. We all started out with an Aperol Spritz, because what says Italy more than a spritz!?! We ordered a few appetizers, artichoke, squash and asparagus. The squash was unique. It had pickled summer squash, a vegetable that I never considered pickling. Simply delicious. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the sauce really enhanced it. Great side dish. I did not try the artichoke, but my wife and daughter both said they were amazing. For mains, I ordered the Aragosta fra Diavolo, my wife the Cappelletti and my daughters the Carbonara. All were delicious. The fra diavolo had a nice light kick of heat and loaded with lobster tail. Excellent dish. I highly recommend Shewolf. It's a phenomenal restaurant that takes pride in their food, service and the whole experience.

Our server was very welcoming and helped to set up our food order into courses that allowed us a very relaxing evening Cocktails were really good. I had a Last Word and it was very well done. The restaurant is decorated very nicely with warm wood trim. The bar area looked stellar and very French-bistro like. I will sit there next time No so Highs Food was good, but just OK. Between the two of us we had the beet salad, burger and steak tartare. Burger was good, but not the best smash burger that I've had. Beet salad was fine, however the cream cheese was a bit overpowering against the orange oil. It was dying for some citrus. Steak tartare was a bit dry, meaning that a small dab of olive oil would have added to the richness and overall mouth feel. I did not really taste the egg although I did see a dab of yolk on the tartare. Needed a bit of salt also to enhance the taste Menu was small, but it did cover a cross section of French bistro dishes. All in all, I thought it was a bit overpriced. So I will have to consider returning for a full meal. I would come back for a burger and beer at the bar.
