I stopped in to.. hate to say it.. use the facilities. What can I say?? I wish NYC had a Capital One like this branch. Every employee stood out.. from the employee who welcomed me and gave directions to the facilities to the gentleman who welcomed me upstairs. He asked if I needed help and learned he is from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn! Small world.. As for the bank: immaculate, warm, inviting and spacious.. very spacious. The upstairs has desks for computer work, comfy couches and what looked like conference rooms. This branch serves Peet's coffee and the employee who hails from Brooklyn offered to buy me a cup.. Turns out this branch offers digital banking. I will research this on their website. All I have to say is.. WOW.. can you move this branch to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn? If I could give this cafe even more stars I would! Besides being a great place to study or have meetings (with free rooms you can reserve), you get 1/2 off any drink if you're a Capital One member! Now on to the real reason for my review...about 4 months ago, I attended an event here for a networking group that I'm part of. I was impressed by the clean, beautiful interior and the helpful staff. During the event, one of the employees mentioned that Capital One offers money coaching--essentially like life coaching and financial advising wrapped into one. I was stunned...could this be true? They emphasized that the coaching is FREE and there wouldn't be any selling involved. Well, I'm happy to admit this is true! I've completed my three sessions now with the cafe's in-house coach, Nicole, and couldn't be happier. The entire experience is a breeze from start to finish. With every session (there are 3 total) you get a card for a free handcrafted drink from the Peet's Coffee within the cafe. There's something pretty special about strolling in, claiming your free, delicious beverage and making your way upstairs for an hour of high-quality, expert coaching. Plus, everyone is so sweet who works there! The entire experience from start to finish is so pleasant and not something I would have ever associated with financial coaching, lol. :) The coaching itself has been fantastic. The financial tools are sophisticated and Nicole is warm and personable. My boyfriend has also started seeing her and I'm excited to put into action what we learned together. So today I went to this coffee shop, and they don't have..coffee. The machine broken. Again..third time this month. Cold brew? Sold out. Drip?! No...seriously..no drip. I'm not one of those yelpers who writes bad review based on one experience. This place has consistently had problems for months. I'm starting to wonder if it's a real coffee shop or just a big lobby. Another time the 3 banker types standing around doing nothing except standing by to enroll you in banking said the barista went upstairs..oook I asked how long? Um uh hmm. They don't know. I waited 15 minutes and left. Maybe they should cross train their bankers to pull some espresso. Last week they were out of croissants so I said ok bagel egg sandwich. They.could do that. Ok cool. Except they gave me a sweet blueberry bagel with savoury bacon sandwich. Really? Come on.. I'm even a Cap One customer. I do my banking here. I'd love if this lived up to its intention. Ambiance is nice. Food and coffee, when you can get it are good. The half off discount for banking customers is great. When they're actually serving anything. This should be a 4 star place. They need to get their S together, it's embarrassing a major corporate brand can't even serve drip coffee when the machine is down. Maybe get a second machine like all the other coffee shops? My coworkers and I started coming here in October once a week for our team meetings and it is truly the best cafe and coworking space in South Lake Union. It's spacious, clean, quiet, with not too many people, friendly and helpful staff, and a Peet's Coffee. What more could you ask for? Well, how about 50% off your drinks when you use your Capitol One card? Yep, you heard me. 50% off, people. Oh, and they have specials all the time. I cannot express how much I love this place. I arrived from an red eye flight into Seattle. Since my Airbnb doesn't let me check out till 4 pm, I had to hop between coffee shops to work during the day. Until I stumbled into capital one cafe. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the manager. He explained to me this is a free community work space. I could borrow their conference room! It was a life saver. There is also a peets cafe, you would get half off for drinks if you have a capital one credit card!!!!! By the end of my work day, the branch employee brought me a goodie bag full of snacks and drinks. It felt just like working in one of the tech company office. If you are ever in Seattle trying to find an community work space! I would definitely recommend here!!! This is a 5 star experience. read more

I've been here a few times because I'm a part of a non-profit organization that hosts meetings here. LOCATION & PARKING // It's on the corner of Westlake and Harrison. It's extremely hard to miss as it's next to Serious Pie & Biscuit. The concept of the cafe is kind of strange as it's a bank, Peet's Coffee shop, and general working space in one. Street parking can be hit or miss but since you're in SLU, you might get lucky depending on when you come. AMBIANCE // I don't come here for the coffee (I mean, it's whatever) but I love working here. It's an open space so you won't feel like you're forced to sit next to a bunch of people. The seating varies depending on where you're at in the cafe too. I also love the two stories because it feels really roomy! OVERALL // 4.5 stars It's a weird little spot but if you're looking for a space to get some work done, I recommend it here! read more

I stopped in at the C1 Cafe a few weeks ago to make a deposit and, when I walked in, I wasn't even sure I was inside a bank. In fact, I'm still not sure if this is a bank! It's a coffee shop, co-working space, conference/training venue and (oh yeah) there are super friendly Capital One employees there to help you with your banking. I was able to quickly make a deposit, take a little tour of their various spaces, and then enjoy some free cookies and a coffee on Cap-One. This is a beautiful space with great coffee! We came in early one morning to check the space out and get a couple drinks and we were told it was dog friendly so they invited our dog in too! The drinks were very well made and the person who helped us out and welcomed us in, Don, was the best! He showed us the space and even hooked our dog up with some stuff. His hospitality and kindness were top tier and we will be going back often thanks to him. Everyone who worked there was super sweet too. The coffee is acceptable, but the food isn't worth it--it's comparable to a school lunch. I spent $10 on avocado toast and received a single, untoasted slice of what appeared to be normal grocery store bread with a thin, slightly brown layer of avocado spread. Don't make the mistake I did, see the other review below about the terrible sandwich too. Better off going to Starbucks. read more

Swanky-looking Capital One cafe that provides Peet's Coffee drinks. Not a bad deal. If you have a Capital One card, you get 50% off your drinks here. There's also a student deal where for a free handcrafted coffee drink if you show a student ID on Sundays. Free wifi and subsidized drinks aside, this isn't that great of a coffee/tea shop. I ordered a hibiscus berry splashed iced tea lemonade and found it way too sweet for my liking. It does have lemonade in it, but the lemonade was more sugary than tart. Whether it had actual tea in it is questionable, because all I tasted was fruity syrup. My drink was sloppily sloshed into the cup, with spillage all over the sides that left my hands sticky. Be careful where you stand, because the Capital One representatives are not at all discerning about approaching you. There's a bunch of attention-grabbing displays, but you probably don't need another credit card. The space is cool but ultimately kind of unnecessary. Starbucks makes a better tea infused lemonade, and it's nice to get away from all the construction in this area. read more

My favorite place to work at outside of the hospital. Not only because of the half off deal with their drinks or the Happy Hour (FREE DRINK!) deal on Mon-Fri from 10am-2pm, but also because I love the vibe inside. I usually sit on the 2nd floor by the window because I like to people watch whenever I'm taking a break from working. Plus it's closer to the restroom...haha.. my bladder is my worst enemy! As a surgeon, it would definitely be a curse! It does get a little loud up here, especially that one time I was here and there was an event going on. But most of the time though, I don't mind because I'm not doing as much work. I get everything done at the hospital but I'd come here just to relax and do some light work. It'll be worth it now because I usually come here during their Happy Hour so.... FREE DRINKS!! With that said, I do enjoy their drinks! I usually get the same drinks but I change between them every song visit. I'm really lovin' the iced tea lemonade infusions that they have. I've tried two of the three so far and they're good! May be a little too sweet for me (I'm scared of sugar), but I usually just wait until most of the ice melt so the drink gets diluted haha. I'm definitely going to miss this place when I head back home to California. That's why I'm coming here as much as I can, whenever I can! The barista people are super nice! I always feel welcome whenever I walk in. Even the bankers are nice! I'm pretty sure they know my face already because I'm here 3-4 times a week! SLU is not short on cafes or banks. But a combination cafe/bank? That might actually be a first. (And for those who like to play the "what used to be there" game: rug store.) I wandered past by chance and decided to check it out. Capital One Cafe's grand opening is on 1/19/18, but it's open for business now. While it aims to be many things -- hangout spot, co-work and meeting space, dispenser of financial advice -- the main benefits are for Capital One customers or prospective customers. As a cafe, it's fine. Capital One customers get 50% off their drinks (but not food), which meant my latte was ridiculously cheap! They serve Peet's coffee, with a smallish menu of espresso drinks, tea, cocoa and fruity drinks, plus a selection of pastries and packaged chips and cookies. The discount is probably enough to make me pick this place over the Starbucks across the street, but coffee snobs will get fancier drinks at Kakao or Fresh Flours. As a meeting space, it's two spacious floors of table seating, comfy chaises, and large meeting tables with charging stations. WiFi is free, and there are three first-come-first-serve conference rooms. Two other meeting rooms are reserved for nonprofits only, at no charge. There's also an open area on the main floor that looks like it will be used for banking-related business. It feels a little sterile and corporate with the bright colors and blond wood, but I'm guessing the ambiance will improve when it's officially open and gets busier. There are two ATMs in the lobby, and tablets at the big tables that offer information on Capital One's tools and services. It's not a true bank, in the sense that there aren't tellers or financial advisors there -- I had questions about investing and was referred to one of their phone lines. But if you need an ATM or have basic questions about their services, the employees are friendly and chatty. As a cheapskate, my big takeaway is 50% OFF DRINKS! But I can see this being a useful place to meet with coworkers to get away from the office, or to bring a laptop and work quietly. If your office, like mine, doesn't have soundproof rooms for private phone conversations, the meeting rooms would also be handy for that. I'll be back for my half-price lattes! read more

A decent coffee shop and hang out space that is "sponsored" by Capital One. One thing I find odd is that they have zero sales aspect here- they are here for basic questions and then refer you to their website to open accounts and more in depth issues. The Peet's coffee bar is great. To me this feels more of a marketing aspect then a bank. All banking at that is done with ATM's so it is not even a place you can go for a roll of quarters. What a great place to go when you need to get out of the house. As WFH becomes more and more common, things like power or internet disruption can put you out of your normal routine. Capital One Cafe really saves the day. From the very open lay out, to the nooks for some privacy, I really can't say enough good things about the resources they have to offer. I've walked by this place dozens of times and finally had a chance to pop in. The venue is very spacious! Lots of open tables, tons of natural light, great place to come work. I liked how the coffee bar was also really spacious so you're not crammed in between people working and those waiting to order. They had a nice section of swag - mugs, tumblers, etc. It's Peet's coffee too, which is nice! Their menu is great! Lots of variety of iced tea; super important to me as a tea drinker. My friend ordered an iced latte and she said it was very good. The staff is friendly and you can tell they have their frequent clientele coming throughout the day. I love the natural light that comes through because of all the windows they have. I'll be back to work from here one of these days! But probably will be back sooner to get some drinks and pastries! First time here. The cafe used to be a former rug shop. Lots of seating and tables to study/work with two meeting rooms. Good coffee, even better prices with a Capital One card. Barista staff friendly, cafe staff not so much. No where does it state meeting rooms need to be reserved, both were empty. As I was studying for my boards, was told by the staff rooms had to be reserved but allowed to stay. If empty, why waste space and not allow anyone to use? Would I recommend this place? To get to coffee to go, yes. To stay and use the space, not so much. As a capitol one member, while their card services are fantastic, their cafes leave more to be desired. This is my 3rd CapOne Cafe, the first 2 being Los Angeles and San Francisco. This one is by far the nicest one. Very helpful and friendly staff that lets me drink all the Peet's coffee I desire! The place is huge (2 floors) with conference rooms for anyone that needs one. There is a chalkboard announcing that they will have the NCAA March Madness games on too...they are sponsors of the tournament BTW. Great people, great space, great bank!
