Absolutely the best Thai restaurant in the area. Definitely not your boring typical Thai!! The lunch menu is very reasonable. We eat here pretty regularly and have always enjoyed our meal. I especially love the massaman curry with shrimp and tofu, and my husband usually gets the drunken noodles. Delicious! I was in Exeter for a week and this place was down the street from where I lived so I gave it a shot. OMG, I think this is one of the better Thai places I've been to in the States and it's in a small town in New Hampshire. The drunken noodle here is excellent, and everything was spot on. Stopped by here for dinner on our way home from Portland. It was almost late on a Sunday night so it wasn't too packed or busy. When we arrived, we noticed that there was only one waitress working the entire place (actually I saw one other waitress but she only checked on one table and disappeared). Two couples were seated after us and they had their orders taken before us. Their food also arrived well before ours and they were pretty much finished with their meals before ours even arrived. Had the northern thai style sausage 'Sai oua' with sticky rice and a roasted tomatoe dip. It was good and the tomatoe dip made it yummier. The second time I ordered it they gave me the sweet chili sauce from out of a bottle, no dip. You're a good thai place, but I gave you 3 stars because you're not consistent. If it says it on the menu please provide it versus giving me a cheap easy sweet chili sauce from out of a bottle. read more

First time ordering Pad Thai as I expecting 10 min to be done, took 5 min and took it out of box while in car, not fresh+microwaved!

Review is for a take out order from someone who has actually been to Thailand. Waited 6 minutes when was told wait would be a moment. Hung up and called again, and told them about this. Didn't really care until I spoke to the manager and asked for them to cover an appetizer, which they did. Food was 3 of 5 stars. Pad Thai (2 of 5 stars) was bland with few veggies and 90% noodle to 10% meat ratio. The corn appetizer (4/5 stars) was decent, but Thai restaurants can prepare it better. Completely lacking was Thai hospitality. You have to go to Tom Yum Thai for that. read more

We had a delicious authentic Thia dinner. Our server was very helpful and friendly answering all our questions about the menu. We started with the blossom dumplings they were almost too beautiful to eat. The dumplings were like no other we had ever had and the Thia dipping sauce accompanied them perfectly. My wife Cindy had masaman curry with shrimp and white rice. I had the chicken khao soi bowl and asked our server to see if they would add shrimp which they were happy to. I had *** stars for a heat level a d it was just right. I have had khao soi many times this was the first time I was served it with two whole chicken drumsticks, very different but delicious. I enjoyed a couple of Tuckermans pale ale draft beers with our meal. Capitol Thia carrie's a variety of bottles beer and has a full bar. All in all a delightful evening we will be going back. I have included a picture of the blossom dumplings. Our server explained that the rich blue color comes from butterfly tea they are cooked in and that it takes the chefs 4 hours to prepare so glad we tried them. read more

A bit of a crazy dinner in a good way. Myself and my picky 12 yo daughter made a visit. We got seated quickly but then told our table was actually for another party that was waiting. Understanding we gave up seat and was told we could grab bar seats. Ok, didn't think a 12 yo could sit at bar, but great for me (us). Service was fun as bartender is a hoot. I've been going to this place for two months - phenomenal! Best that food around the Seacoast.

Decided to try out Capital Thai Kitchen - the interior was nice but the table were right on top of each other so I felt uncomfortable with the quarreling couple sitting next to us! Food was overall quite disappointing the corn fritters were not bad but The Pad Thai was AWFUL literally tasted like a chemical - I should have suspected when I saw large have eaten plates of it being carried away. Heard some good buzz about Capital Thai's authentic food and was sadly disappointed. - Mango salad: cloyingly sweet, and I've never had cubed mango with the skin left on and I never want to again - Thai sausage: sausage did have an interesting flavor but unfortunately too many included chunks of hard fat that couldn't be chewed - Crispy chicken with pineapple and sticky rice: I've never been served sticky rice in a plastic bag after being overcooked in a microwaved, further evidence of over reliance on a microwave, the chicken and pineapple were too hot to eat on one side and cool on another - they couldn't at least stir it? Additional negatives: there was visible dirt on the window sills, the place has an odor of old rugs, and I don't understand the sloppy piling of dishes and utensils in the front window - why? Our waitress was the highlight as she was supper friendly and personable. Sorry Capital Thai, but I'm the first to heap praise when deserved and not afraid to report what I experienced when it's not that good read more

I think this is the best Thai food I have every tasted, and I've sought out Thai food all over the US. So delighted that it's so close to my workplace. Everything I've tried has been fresh, well-prepared, and perfectly spiced. I really enjoyed the curries, pad thai and fresh spring rolls. Oh, and those corn fritters are amazing! As others have said, the attentiveness of the waitstaff could be much improved though. Took a long time to get their attention for water refills and our check when we were ready to go. I went to pick up a door Dash order for a customer and I said to the lady can I use your bathroom please, she said no you're not a customer. I said I pick up here three or four times a week food for your customers, she said I pay you to come here and pick up food so you're not a customer and you can't use my bathroom . We stopped into this place on a whim while driving through Exeter and craving Thai food. This is by far the BEST Thai food we have ever had in NH. The place was very clean, the staff so friendly and helpful and the food was as artful as it was delicious. The dishes were creative and refreshing. The Blossom Dumplings were almost too pretty to eat...hand carved, cooked to perfection and dyed with the pigment from the flower petals not dye. The spring rolls were served with peanut and sweet sauces and were so fresh and delicious. We had pad Thai and drunken noodles which were both ample portions and amazing. We don't normally get dessert but everything was so good we felt we'd be remiss to not do so. We ordered the honey banana with vanilla ice cream. Cooked when ordered it was hot, crunchy, sweet and amazing. The presentation was artful and was only topped by the deliciousness. Go to Capital Thai. read more

I wished I got the waitresses name, she recommended the pork shank on asparagus in scrumptious curry. This place has become a regular place to enjoy a nice meal mid week and take out in weekends. Food, people and atmosphere is wonderful. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the Bubble Tea sign. It's dirty and crumpled, detracts from quality inside. We ordered the tiger cry beef, haddock with curry and boat noodles. All were mediocre. The tiger cry beef was the worst ribeye I've ever had and served with the wrong sauce. The Boat Noodle is too sweet and wasn't savory like traditional boat noodles. The Haddock curry was ok but just a tad sweet but the best dish we ordered. This restaurant is definitely catered to the locals and doesn't truly represent authentic thai cuisine. I was very disappointed considering the price point for each dish. read more

By far one of the best Thai restaurants in the North East! The Curry and spring rolls are second to none!

For us one of the best parts about Capital Thai is that we can walk to it and, during COVID, knowing there's a tasty meal at the end of a short walk is delightful. We love their corn fritters, their pad Thai is at least a two-meal version, and their fried rice is delish. And Thai iced tea to cap the meal. So given the fact that we've never actually eaten IN the restaurant yet (thanks COVID), we've had pretty yummy experiences. That said, they can be very hard to reach by phone. When we first moved to the area, we'd try calling to place a take-out order and the phone would go to voicemail. Over and over again. And there was no feeling that leaving a number or an order even would receive attention. And there was no message to tell you what to do when you got vmail. In fact it was frustrating enough that we stopped trying to call them and just called OBA Noodle Bar down the street again (always answer! Good food!) They've been much more responsive in the past two months though, which is great. read more

I am glad I gave this place another try because it was well worth it. I got the steamed pork belly buns and boat noodles. The pork was unctuous and delicious with a great steamed bun. The boat noodles were so savory; they keep the rice noodles separate from the soup and pork so you can make it how you want your soup to noodles ratio. I have to say this was the best Thai in awhile. Second time getting takeout from this restaurant. First time we ordered the Chicken Satay which was good, we also got Cashew Crispy Chicken, which my husband raved about, I thought it was good but disappointed in my Chicken Curry in red curry sauce, I love curry, this was just alright. Last night my husband was craving the Cashew Crispy Chicken so an order was placed and again we got Chicken Satay which was very dry and there was barely enough peanut dipping sauce. The Crispy Chicken was very good and we both enjoyed it. I was going to get Pad Thai as it's one of my go to dishes but thought I'd try the Pad See Ew - big mistake. It was all congealed, the noodles were barely edible and it was so disappointing I honestly couldn't eat it. This place is not cheap and so far only one dish has been really good, if you are going to charge these prices then at least get the food up to a higher standard. read more
