I asked that she not cut the skin to prevent in-growns (since I don't get them) and there was no confusion as there has been elsewhere. Thank God I've found a good waxing salon! Note: This place does NOT accept credit cards. However, they do have an ATM machine right next to the front counter and that has been a life saver for me on more than one occasion. They accept cash and checks ONLY. And don't believe the Google map thumbnail (it's not mapping to the full address). Capri Nail Spa is NOT located on the Bay side (northeast) of the 101. It is located on the Southwest side of the 101 in the same parking lot as PetSmart, REI, Best Buy, and Bed Bath & Beyond on Charleston Road. This shopping center is down the street from Costco and across the street from Michaels. It is unbelievably hard to find a nail salon (or whatever salon) that does waxing well. Either it's an after thought, or the standards are pitifully low. Here, the spa rooms are small, clean, freshly painted, and located at the back of the salon. They are totally PRIVATE. On top of that, they offer a towel with a Velcro closure to go around the waist so you aren't completely exposed on the table. The technicians all wear white lab coats and are conscientious of doing a good job. I typically get my eyebrows, underarms and legs waxed. Cost is $55 for full leg (sometimes more), $18 for underarm, and $15 for eyebrow. These are very reasonable prices! The entire salon is beautiful and most of the technicians speak fluent English. Having had nightmare waxing experiences, from total lack of privacy (my bare ass exposed to everyone in the salon as the technician walked casually in and out of the room without a thought to my privacy) to disgusting conditions (dirty towels, cheap wax, and dingy rooms), Capri Nail Spa is now the only place I'll go to get all my waxing done. Best general purpose facial to me, extremely well priced for the area (around $80 for 1hr facial). I've been going to Capri for monthly facials for over a year now and it's my favorite facial. I have tried others, including dedicated facial salons and found this one most effective. Ven (I may get the spelling wrong) doesn't waste a minute: a full set for 1 hr facial -- pore clearing, some tools, blackhead squeezing, some mask/cream, massage for face, neck, shoulders.. She doesn't skip on squeezing to remove blackheads and stuff, unlike some other places. I find it essential to improve the skin. I really notice my skin results when going regularly. read more

I felt like such a nail shop whore for an awful long time until Capri nail spa. I was introduced to Capri by one of my besties a few years back. I have been a satisfied customer since then, on occasion I feel like I cheat on them by going to a local redwood city salon (I've yet to find a good salon here) when I'm short on time. The nail techniques that this establishment uses has been consistent over the last couple of years. The prices are average (35 for regular mani/pedi), great massage and best of all they take their sweet time doing what they do best! Crappy! Got a mani/pedi, and the mani didn't even last a week! There were bubbles in my polish from day 1, my cuticles are wrecked, and the polish started peeling 4 days after the mani. Worst pedicure of my life! For $50 bucks I expect attention to detail and not to have to tell him to cut my toe nails or how to do a pedicure. The man who did my nails was sloppy AF in a rush. I had to tell him to cut and file my nails and clean the cuticles. He didnt massage my legs or use a toe separator. He rubbed lotion on my legs and used the stones but half assed. The nail polish smudged and another woman had to come redo the polish. He kept trying to over compensate by being nice. But wouldnt listen to me when I asked for a toe separator or to cut my nails. Not worth the money of his service. In all fairness, my friend sitting next to me had a good experience and would go to girl that helped her. But the man who helped me... it's a hard no. This is one of the worst salons I have been in to. The owner is rude and very very difficult to deal. I have given it many chances and I have come many times because it's convenient but it always disappoints. I usually don't write negative reviews but this one deserves one. Their colors are old and dont last, their massages are terrible. The owner wears her mask under her nose endangering her clients. I have taken my daughter here who is 10. Not only do they charge the same as an adult but spend half the time doing the manicure and pedicure. Drove to Capri vs. walking to Gorgeous Nails in my pursuit of Mountain View's best nail salon. Pros: Girl who did my pedi did a great job! Good cuticle work, polish is perfect. If she'd also been the one to do my nails I would have give this place 4 stars. Good color selection Woman behind the desk was extremely nice. Big place, you could go here with friends. Plenty of parking. Cons: My massage chair was broken. Lame. I know I didn't get the pedi just to sit in the massage chair but it didn't work when everyone else's did. The girl working on my toes apologized and I appreciate that but If they'd given me $5 off my next visit for that flaw I would definitely be going back to this place in 2 weeks and not even mentioning this as a con. Cuticle work on my nails was kind of non-existent. I have some polish o my skin also... so regardless of all of Capri's pros, this is not the best manicure. If I go back I'll look for the pedicure girl to do both. Big, clean, and fast. I always walk in and always get seated within 5 minutes. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is that they only accept cash or check. An ATM machine is available in store though. I only had my credit card the other day and was able to come back later to pay. That was very nice of them. They offer two different kinds of pedi/mani: Spa or regular. Spa basically comes with more extensive scrubbing, massage, and hot wax treatment for extra $20 or something like that. I would not recommend Spa because the massage is not as stimulating and strong as I would like it, and I don't really need a hot wax treatment, which seems to do pretty much nothing. Today, I was terribly disappointed with my experience at Capri Nail Spa. I used to like this place, but recently prices have gone up and quality has gone WAY down. The woman doing my $27 pedicure rushed through it in 20 MINUTES, all the while trying to up-sell me on an organic pedicure and manicure. She had absolutely NO technique and acted like she'd rather be home cleaning her cat's litter box. This place is pretty busy, regardless, probably because it's in an active strip mall and longtime clients like me feel some sense of loyalty. But I think I've made my last visit to Capri. Pedicures are good, I was content with my service, very general work but pleased with the polish and nail trim. I had acrylic nails as well but these I must admit were very disappointing. Its only been four days and they feel like they are soon to come off. I called and asked if I could have them seen since I was not satisfied, they asked me to come in so I went and after they looked at them they said thats what they're suppose to look like? The ends were chipping and I always get normal nail polish and never had this happen before. She removed the polish of one nail to show me they were not lifting and when she re applied the color it didn't even match what I had and let me leave with a different color nail. Nice place to get my toes done, not so good to get fake nails. I have only had my nails done for about 5 days, already 2 nails have broke off! Another one has a crack in the middle and a crack on the side! They didn't tell me until the lady was applying but she used something called amazing nail concept (ANC) which is a process of looks like a clear coat then they dip it in a powder apply another clear coat an dip in a powder again. This was my first time ever trying it. For myself I don't like it, it makes ur nails weak, they lift at the top/side very easy (not sure if it's the way she applies it). When I asked the nail tech to do a coffin shape nail she was doing a stiletto type nail, she did not understand at all what I was talking about she proceeded to show me a pic of a stiletto nail saying that was a coffin nail. Anyways nope sure if this will ever help anyone but don't get fake nails done here. read more

I have gotten my nails done here three times. Each time they've done a wonderful job that looks amazing until I go back. My rating of four stars is simply based on the quality of their work. Also, each pedicure chair has a cleaning log book. I'm not sure if they cleaning itself is adequate, but at least they're trying. The second time I was here the lady doing my nails suggested I take the old acrylic off and put on new acrylic. Being a newbie, I didn't know that was what you were supposed to do when they got discolored and I'm glad she spoke up. I assumed it happened because I experimented with a cheaper place which may have used cheaper acrylic. When I first got acrylics I decided pink and whites were ridiculously expensive. Yesterday, I went in for a plain old acrylic fill. The girl asked if I wanted pink and whites instead of clear acrylic and I succumbed and said yes, I'll try it, because even though I didn't want to pay for them I wanted to see what I was missing out on. Within ten minutes she inquired, no pedicure today? Then, about halfway through she suggested I needed an eyebrow wax! Geez! I'm a captive audience and she was pretty relentless. When I paid, I handed her a $50 bill to pay my bill which came to $43. She simply took it and said thank you. I normally tip in the neighborhood of 20% so I was slightly insulted and would have added a couple dollars in spite of her car salesman technique because she did a good job. I can't do that if she latches on to the seven dollar difference like it's her birthright. Regardless, I plan to return. They do the best job on acrylics I've seen. read more

Walked in today for a pedicure around 12:30 and only had to wait about 5 minutes. I like this place and will most likely return. The staff is friendly and professional and everything is new and clean. Ambiance is so-so. It's certainly not a spa-like atmosphere. It's a little too white and sterile-looking, but that's fine with me. Tons of magazines to flip through. Prices are normal ($25 for normal pedicure and $35 for the spa pedicure). The spa pedicure comes with a scrub and a paraffin wax (plus you get to choose from 5 lotions), so I went with it since I really needed a foot scrub in a bad way (pacing back and forth on hardwood floors carrying a newborn baby for three months can really mess up your feet). While I really enjoyed the pedicure overall, the scrub only lasted about 30 seconds and it was for the legs only. No exfoliation on the feet at all! That was the only bad thing I can say about the pedicure. Otherwise, the wax left my feet feeling really soft and the technician did a great job with the leg/foot massage and the polish. Next time I'll just get the regular pedicure and ask the technician to spend more time buffing the heels of my feet. Speaking of the polishes, I agree with the other reviewer about the fact that they are not organized in any fashion. Dark, nudes, metallics, everything just thrown up in random order on the shelf. They carry some OPI, but no Essie (to my dismay). And they seem to favor very dark colors--I had to search around to find a nude/white color and they barely have any pinks. If you have a particular color you like, I'd bring in your own just in case they don't have it (or you can't find it on their shelf). Oh, and the massage chairs are a nice touch, too! read more

I do love getting a good manicure/pedicure. Last week, I decided to sneak out of the office early one day to get one. I didn't have enough time to make it to my usual place, so I thought that I'd give Capri a go. The wait was longer than I was told (30 minutes instead of 10), and the experience wasn't very nice. The leg and foot massage was barely brushing my skin. She cut me twice while trimming my cuticles, and somehow managed to file some skin off of my big toe! On my hands, she cut me four more times while trimming my cuticles. The only good thing about the experience is that she did a terrific job on painting. I'm pretty hard on manicures, but the paint hasn't chipped yet. If the rest of the experience were as good as the painting, I'd come here all the time. But with six bleeding cuticles and a scrape on my toe, I'm never going back. read more

I always try to stop by here for a mani/pedi when I am in the area. What a treat today when they introduced me to their Organic Mani/Pedi. I got 10% off because my appointment was scheduled before 11am. A little on the expensive side, but it was well worth it and I hope to come back again soon for another one. I have been going to Capri Nail Spa for a while now. Cleanliness is very very important to me, and so far I have not seen or experienced any problems. The key to having a good experience here is finding someone you connect with and whom you can see every couple of weeks. I have two people, Nicky and Stephen, who I prefer. Some of the other employees seem bored or distracted. I am a fairly quiet person, but I do appreciate when the person working on my nails smiles and is friendly. The quality of the work is superior to other salons I have visited. The manicures and pedicures have been top quality. They do take walk-ins, but I try to make an appointment to save time and so I can choose who does my nails. read more

My last pedi was at Sakura in San Jose with a friend of mine. When I was there she mentioned that she always goes to Capri nails during work because they use "sterile" tools. I thought that I would check this place out for my next pedi fix. Cost for a pedicure at Sakura was $20. For $15 more I was able to get the Spa Pedicure package, which includes a lavender foot spa, parafin foot wax, exfoliating scrub, massage and pedicure. PROS: Clean venue. My manicurist was male and was pretty good. He even cleaned off my polish tester nails on my hands - what great customer service! Massage chairs are very awesome. For some reason they are better than the standard nail salon massage chairs. Their tools are sterile - they come in pre-packaged bags. They have OPI nail polish to choose from. CONS: Higher price, but this is what you pay for better service. Payment is by cash or check only. No credit cards. read more

This salon has been my go-to place. Lots of comfortable chairs and they're clean. For waxing, Van is great. For nails, Niko and Stephen do a great job. I don't request anyone specific so I've gotten a lot of different people. I've been satisfied with almost all of them but I agree that some are better than others. If you're picky, read the Yelp reviews and request someone specific. The place is on the pricey side. $10 for a regular manicure and $25 for a regular pedicure. They offer a "spa" version for more $. The front desk seems to sniff with disdain when I say no but it could just be my imagination. The ladies at the front desk (owners?) alternate between friendly and haughty. I stopped coming here for 6 months after a negative incident but have since returned. All in all, a nice place to relax and beautify. read more

I've been going to this nail salon for a while now since it's right down the street from my work. The shopping center always has plenty of parking and if I have to wait then there's tons of stuff that are around for for me to do (i.e., Starbucks, Bed Bath, etc). The first thing I check is to make sure the salon is clean and their tools are clean which this place definitely covers. The employees clean the the foot spas right after they're done with you. They also use a new tool kit (which they open in front of you) every time. The prices are decent and every person that I've had (it's been different every time) have done a good job...even the men. I get a basic mani and pedi which is $35. The only down side is they don't accept credit/debit cards but they do provide an ATM machine and they also accept checks. read more

They do a great job with the eyebrow waxes here. Clean, efficient, no surprises. I had them shaped somewhere else before I started coming here, so I've always asked for just a clean-up, and that's exactly what I get. Never felt like they were pushing the line or changing the shape on me. I always call ahead to make sure they aren't busy. Usually they can get me in at the time I want (within 15 min or so of my call :) ), and if they are busy, they suggest another time. Using that approach, I've never had to wait more than 2 min when I arrive there. The only thing that I don't like is that I get a different person every time, and though I've probably had 5 different people who all did a good job, I worry about that time when there will be someone who reshapes them without warning me... but it hasn't happened yet, so I'm going to keep going! $15 plus tip for an eyebrow wax, cash only. read more

This is my local salon and in general I enjoy coming here. I get manicures, pedicures, and facial waxing done here. It's a spacious salon with really friendly workers and owners. It's a pleasant change to have the owners speak English so well -- makes transactions and specific requests much easier to come by! What I don't like is that they recently raised prices and now charge $15 for a manicure. They also only take cash or checks, which can be annoying, and no matter how many times you come back, they make you write your full address, phone number, and license number on the check. Also, and I know this sounds petty, but I absolutely hate the noise the metal chairs make scraping back and forth across the tile floors. I know this is a very person-specific thing, but I do think the overall look would be improved by hardwood floors or more expensive chairs. Also, does anyone else think they have the name wrong? If it's named after Capri, Italy, it should be pronounced Ca-PREE. They pronounce it CA-pree. In general, I always get good service and nice looking nails/skin after visiting Capri! I came in hoping for a good pedicure BUT it was really bad. -lady had ice cold hands -she accidentally cut my skin which scared the crap out of me since I'm pregnant (I'm still upset) -she kept digging her pinky nail into my skin when she was painting the white tip -they did not take credit card. Good thing I had cash. -they had this ATM machine to try to force you to use theirs so they can charge people fees!!! -they charged $30 for a reg. Not sure why this place doesn't have an even better rating! I don't get my nails done super often but when I do I love to come here! The atmosphere is peaceful and the interior design is bright and relaxing. I came not to long ago to treat my mother and I to some mani's, mine was a classic and hers was an acrylic powder dip (which both came out amazing). I also got my eyebrows done there and they came out pretty, clean and not painful at all. The women working there are great, very friendly an accommodating. There prices are not the cheapest but its worth every penny! I can understand things probably can't be cheap when your in such a pricey neighborhood! Wish I could go more often but I don't live in the area anymore and visit when I can. Lanette F's review is right on target: I go to Capri because it is clean, professional, the ventilation is great, prices reasonable, and I have always been able to walk in and get great service (I expect in the evenings it might be more difficult without an appointment). What takes them to five stars is how helpful they are. For example, this afternoon I had a pedicure -- went home and a couple of hours later "dinged" it. Luckily I had a meeting near Capri that evening. No problem, they kindly fixed my one toe and I was off to my meeting. Thanks! read more
