Had a clunk when decelerating from the E36 BMW rear end that was driving me crazy. I bought a hydraulic Jack system and tools to find and fix it with no luck. I had my Porsche towed in to their shop. I had never been there before. I live in Southern California and my car broke down in the middle of "nowhere." (On a mountain surrounded by vineyards) I took a chance and called them as the tow truck was arriving. Roger informed me that he was very busy but that he would take a look at my vehicle and see what he could do. It was late afternoon. He immediately hooked up his diagnostic computer to try and determine the problem. He was unsuccessful as no error codes appeared. I asked him what procedures he was going to employ to try and determine the problem (being the son of a mechanic and growing up in the business, I had an idea of what questions to ask) he thoroughly explained what he was going to do) I told him I was from out of town and was only staying in Healdsburg, one day. At a quarter to six that same evening, I was called by his wife/office manager who told me the car was ready to be picked up. He had worked a miracle in figuring out the problem and solving it. They even stayed late so that I could walk back to their shop and pick up my car. Why should you use this shop? Because they are honest, honorable people. They had the ability to sell me anything at that point. I was from out of town, I had to leave the next day and I had to take them at their word, whatever they would tell me. They could have sold me various repairs that were not needed but did not do so. In taking my cars to various dealers over the year, I always found they tried to "sell" me something 'additional.' It was inevitably something that was not necessarily needed but much like going into a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant and ordering a hamburger, where the employee then asks "would you like an apple pie with that?" These people are the "real deal." I found them to be ethical, straightforward and helpful; the type of people I would like to do business with and in any business situation. read more

I am new to owning a European car, let alone a Mercedes. I took my truck to these guys, in the hopes that they would be empathetic to a new European car owner and the fact that I took it, not only to them, but before getting a chance to read through the owners manual. With every car I have ever owned in the past, whatever shop I took it to, the technicians have always checked the tire pressure, done the oil change or whatever service I am having done, they have always done a visual inspection and topped off all the fluids. Not only did they not answer any of my basic questions, because they claimed not to know the answers. I would think, claiming to be a top of the line "European automotive repair shop", it would be easy to answer some basic questions about how to operate a European vehicle. Not only were they unable to answer some basic questions, they did the absolute minimum amount of work and didn't even add enough oil for it to show on my dipstick. They could have simply called me to tell me they needed to add an additional quart and I would have approved it, and been thankful they did it. About a week later as I was driving, my power steering went out. Had they simply checked the level of fluid and let me know that I needed some, I would have approved it and then thankful for not almost crashing my new car because my power steering went out while I was driving down the road. They replaced my little lamp bulb with a highbeam bulb because it was cheaper and didn't even tell me that it was an electrical issue and needed replacing. I could go on but this is getting long so I am going to finish here and say they don't even deserve the one star I gave them. Find a different shop read more

I actually didn't come to this shop as I don't live in the area but I was referred to Andrew by my brother-in-law for some battery issues I was having with my car when I came back from vacation. My car was having issues starting and when it finally did start, I was getting an error message about the battery. Unfamiliar with the warning, I called my brother-in-law (my car person) who referred me to Andrew for sound advice. I called Andrew who was more than happy to assist and answer any and all questions. Andrew even gave me background information about my car and how it is built and why I was getting the warning. He then instructed me to purchase a battery maintainer, giving me specific details as to the type of maintainer, the cost and even where I could purchase said item for my car. He told me use the maintainer when my car was going to be idle for more than a few days to keep the battery charged and that would avoid the problem in the future. Having never met Andrew, I was extremely impressed and very gracious for all his knowledge and education. In addition, he gave me all the advice and expertise even though I likely won't be able to visit his shop! I wish Andrew was located in my area as I would definitely be bringing my car to him. He definitely wants to help people out and provide excellent service but at reasonable prices. He has a great background and knowledge, specializing in German cars such as BMWs, Mercedes, and Porches but Andrew and his team work with all cars so if you're having any car problems, this place is the spot!
