I used to order the Capastrami sandwich here years ago & it used to be my favorite. I just moved back in the area & was so excited to order again. From the first bite I knew it was not going to be good. The smell was awful & that pretty much scared me. I took a total of 3 bites & had to throw it out. $22 for 3 bites of a horrible sandwich. It was just BAD. Pastrami tasted foul, wrong cheese, I don't even know if there was sauce, chewy roll. I eat ANYTHING & I couldn't eat this. I won't be ordering there again. Went to this place, first and LAST TIME, last night and was totally IGNORED by the two guys behind the counter. I asked if I could order and the one guy said "over there" and I waited, along with 2 other people, as the 2nd man (behind the counter) was doing things with buckets. We all waited for a very lengthy time, not even being acknowledged as being there, waiting for SOMEONE to take our orders. Finally we gave up and just left ! If they don't want our business, there are many other places that are too happy to take our food orders. Someone, manager/owner, should look into how the place is run. I don't know why it took me so long to stop and get sandwiches from Capriottis. They were really quite good so I wish I had tried them years ago. I had the capastrami and it was delish - just the right amount of meat, cheese, slaw, and sauce. My daughter had the vegetarian cheesesteak and loved every bite. We got an Italian hoagie for Dad and he said it was really good. The service didn't take long and the employees were nice. Overall, it was a great visit. This is a big note for me. First off you don't know where to order and nobody in the line knows where to stand and then the manager yells at everybody saying that they're too busy it's gonna take 25 minutes so if you're hungry, go somewhere else. He was rude to the customers and he was rude to the employees. And then the sandwich was just blah. We waited and waited and waited and then we wished we had gone to primos or honey baked. Hoagies used to be pretty good but now they are not worth the $$$. Too little meat in whatever you order. Seems like the help is always irritated and in a bad mood - very short and testy so don't ask for a-n-y-t-h-h-I-n-g special. Too bad they are being cheap these days because Capriotti's used to serve a quality hoagie - alas no more. Thinking it was isolated to the Glen Mills store I tried the one in Rehoboth and came up with the same results- lame quantity of meats/cheeses served with an attitude! No more for me. Good and the thanksgiving sandwich is supposedly famous, but the hours are not good. Closes early and they stop serving sandwiches even earlier, tried to go multiple times around 6:40pm, and was told they were already closed. Also the sandwich is cold, so yummy but could be better. read more

Sad that I have to give them 1 star because their food is pretty good. We Called there tonight at 6:16PM, mind you they close at 7:00PM, the girl who answered the phone said hold for a minute. I said okay, well I held for over 15 minutes and she or no one else had any intention of picking that phone up because there later it got the closer to closing time it was. I finally hung up and called back. A male answered and I told him about holding for over 15 minutes and that I would make sure it went on social media. If the owner was there and this goes on - that is BAD business. If the owner was not there he should be aware of what goes on when he is NOT there. A chain based in Delaware, they are slowly spreading closer to Philly. As a South Philadelphian and cheesesteak connoisseur, this place is absolutely one of the best. John's Roast Pork is my favorite. Woodrow's on South Street is my second favorite. Here is my third. Truly a cheesesteak shop that should be in the running for best in the Philadelphia region. They also have the "Bobby", a Thanksgiving feast on a roll. Fresh sliced turkey breast, stuffing, and cranberry. One of the best sandwiches period. Wawa has copied this sandwich, but can't hold a candle to the true sandwich created at Capriotti's. Great staff, cooked to order (unlike Gino's, Pat's, Jim's, etcetera). The steak is juicy when cooked to order (why John's Roast Pork is the best). Don't miss out on some wonderful sandwiches. Never had a hoagie here, but I've heard they're awesome. I used to live in the area, and was visiting some friends last night, so I decided to stop in for a Bobbie before getting together. I left becuase I was astonished at how rude the staff was. I asked for toasted bread and was told that they couldn't toast. The young man that told me this started to do something else, so I paused and ask another person behind the counter if they had a microwave. The first young man says under his breath (but loudly), "that's not going to toast it". I replied, "Of course I know that a microwave won't toast the bread!". Then, the second person behind the counter say, "well you know that won't toast it, I'll do it...but I mean it's not going to work". It's all the way in the back on the left if you're coming in from Wells Fargo. The place is clean and had a few tables which none of the others I've been at had. Everything was just as ordered and it was delivered promptly. This was the first no-hastle experience we've had since the self quarantining went into effect. Every store has been out of everything. And most of the sandwich places were offering pickup but not delivery. Capriotti's rose to the occasion. We got a cheesesteak, a chicken cheesesteak, an Italian Hoagie, and a Chopped Salad. The sandwiches were great like at any Capriotti's but customer service left me with a terrible taste in my mouth. The two girls working had the enthusiasm of soggy napkins. Sandwiches were made in a timely manner. We sat and ate and as we were getting up TO COME PAY one of the girls said "you guys haven't paid yet". Pretty much accusing us of trying to dine and dash. We said "we know, we're on our way". The trash can had been emptied and a replacement bag had not been put back, so we brought our trash to them and paid for our meals. I'm not a fan of being loudly accused of stealing so I don't plan on coming back. Capriotti's are great but this one needs a little bit of help when it comes to customer relations. read more

Although Capriotti's has a full menu of delicious sandwiches, I come here for one reason and one reason only - the Bobbie! Although Thanksgiving-style sandwiches have become as common as pumpkin pie in November, the Bobbie sets itself apart. It may not have been the first Thanksgiving-style sandwich, but it was the first one I ever saw. The Bobbie has four things that make it special: 1) A good, chewy yet crusty roll 2) Turkey - not your run of the mill, deli sliced lunch meat but real honest to goodness roasted turkey that is shredded up in a delicious combination of both white meat AND dark meat. The turkey is cooked well enough that it will remind you of those sandwiches that you eat around midnight on Thanksgiving night. 3) Cranberry - not just canned jellied cranberry sauce, but a cranberry sauce with real berries in it that has that perfect blend of bitter and sweet. 4) Stuffing - I am gonna be honest with you and tell ya that the stuffing is the weakest part of the sandwich. Of course, the stuffing is not supposed to carry the sandwich - it is moist enough and in the right proportion that you just don't really notice it. The Bobbie - as it is shown on the menu - comes with mayo, but I always have them hold the mayo and you should too. It is just not necessary and I think actually detracts from the sandwich. This location is a little tough to get into. Follow signs for the Acme and then go around the corner. Stop at the front corner of the counter and order your sandwich and then head down to the end of the counter to pay at the register - you can just tell the register guy what your ordered. Service, speed, and décor was just average, but that was not what I came here for. Come to Capriotti's for a Bobbie - it is like Thanksgiving year round! read more

What a find! The subs were awesome. The bread was fresh and soft. Go for the Capristromi - pastrami, Russian dressing, provolone, and coleslaw, heated. SO GOOD. My friend got the cold sub Slaw Be Jo - real roast beef, coleslaw, provolone, and Russian dressing . Be warned: the subs are huge. The small is 9in and my friend and I could have easily split one...but for a special treat...go big or go home :). Definitely will come back again on my next trip from Baltimore. read more
