The restaurant was clean and inviting. I sat at the empty bar which is usual to find an open seat at any bar during dinner time. The server was friendly, attentive, and approachable, but failed to execute communication skills on basic hidden charges. She checked on me throughout the night. I was disappointed that they did not serve bottled Bud Light, so I digressed and ordered a 16 oz Bud Light draft beer. The beer was served in a cold-water glass, and the beer was perfectly poured, very cold, and had a refreshing taste. The draft beer was better than I expected, but I wish it was served in a beer mug instead. I ordered the $9.99 Big Yum Burger Deal which included a Red's Double Tavern Burger, a bottomless side (I choose the fries), and a bottomless drink. First, the burger which tasted JUST ok was small, so if you're expecting a big burger, you will be disappointed. The burger bun which was fresh and soft was not hot or toasted, the beef patties were very thin, but the condiments were all fresh. The fries which were slightly under cooked were hot, but lacked the garlic flavor, seasoning, and taste I was expecting. The fires were a big disappointment considering it was a $2.99 up charge that was not communicated. I did not notice the $2.99 up charge until I received the check. I'm assuming the servers are trained to deceive the customers by not mentioning this charge when taking the orders to increase the ticket average. Had the server mentioned this charge, I would have said NO, and just ordered the regular fries. $2.99 for a sprinkle of garlic on fries that already comes with the meal is RIDICULIOUS. Also, I was NEVER offered or served a bottomless drink which was also part of the meal deal. At best this is a fast-food-value meal served in a casual restaurant. I would NOT order this $9.99 value item again. For a few cents more, you could get a bigger and better tasting burger with the Culver's Deluxe Double Burger Meal made with double beef patties, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onion and signature mayo sauce, served on lightly buttered, toasted bun and includes crinkle cut fries and a drink. Be careful and review your check before paying. I'm not one who normally looks over the check to review the charges, but when I got the check for $22.47 before taxes for a $9.99 burger deal and one draft beer, I had to review the charges, and I was surprised at what I was being charged for. Besides the $2.99 extra charge for "garlic fries", there was an ENTERTAINMENT FEE of $2.99. Really, what the hell is an entertainment fee? I brought this to the server's attention. She did not seem to be surprised or apologetic about the charge, offered no explanation of what the charge was, and had the manager remove it. I'm guessing these charges are a way to increase tips or cover restaurant costs. Overall, I'm disappointed with my dining experience at Red Robin. They really missed the mark tonight. I normally leave a 35% - 40% tip, but tonight, I only left an 18% tip due to the lack of communication of the extra charges that they are passing on to the customers. I tried to review them and got over it bc I couldn't find a way on Uber Eats. I decided to call the store to give some feedback about it. I don't feel like the amount paid reflected what was received. The store manager said she was sorry I didn't feel it was the correct amount but it was.
