    Small naked fries
    Dani S.

My husband recently found out that there's a Capriotti's in town. He follows them on social media and now we finally get to try it! We live about 25 minutes away so we made our way to Star. We did check out the online menu so we knew what we wanted when we got there. We did take another minute to look over the menu in person. The gal that was helping was neither rude or nice. She was just mehh. She took our order and was quite expressionless. As our first time there, her service was a little off putting. For lunch my husband got a Philly with no extras, just meat and cheese. I got the grilled Italian with hot and sweet peppers. We also got a small naked fry. My sandwich was ok. It was loaded with meat and veggies. There was something about it that I didn't really care for. I did ask for a side of mayo. Adding the mayo helped. The peppers did add a nice heat to it! After finishing my sandwich, I believe it's the Italian type herbs that was sprinkled on. I didn't really care for it. My husband's sandwich was really good! The meat was cooked nicely and the cheese was melty. I took a couple bites of his and it was tasty. The fries were nicely salted. For a small you got a good amount of fries! They were a nice addition to the sandwich. With Jimmy John's, Jersey Mike's and Uncle Giuseppe's around the corner from us, the service and the sandwich didn't thrill me to the point that I'd drive 25 minutes to come back. The service and the sandwich was ok. We did have to see what he hype was all about but after reading some other reviews, it doesn't look like what I was experiencing was something abnormal. I guess if I'm ever in the area again I might give it another shot but I don't see myself coming here just cause.

    Just opened. Welcome!!

They just opened this week. Welcomed as soon as I came in. Looks like about twenty employees working because of grand opening. Very busy. Place packed but orderly. Great location shares the Albertsons lot. Easy parking. To go orders easy. Ordered the classic cheesesteak. EXCELLENT taste fresh. Star has a winner here!!

Frozen "canned chicken" - IDK from two full salads

Two stars because my first order was good but the second was horrible. First time I ordered, was on opening day. I got a fantastic sandwich and fries. So I decided to order a second time, and wow, what a difference. Wife and I decided to try their salads as the description and photos made it look good, boy oh boy were we wrong. $13 for a full bbq chicken salad which was so pathetic. The salad had very little chicken and toppings and chicken was borderline frozen and looked like it came out of a can! Some of the lettuce was rotten and overall just super unappealing. I think i will stick with other food spots for a chicken salad and possibly tray a different sandwich later on, who knows tho. You can do better.

I've been a frequent customer since they opened. At least twice a week. I'm obsessed with the Bobbie sandwich. I also love the fries! Every time I go there it's clean and the workers are friendly. I can't recommend it enough.

I passed by this location and the outside of the restaurant grabbed my attention so as I decided to give it a try. I got the regular cheesesteak, so just meat with onions and cheese. From the appearance of the sandwich I thought it would be blend but when I bit into it, I was surprised by how good it was! My only cons are that the bun needs some Philly upgrade to it and the portion of meat needs to increase and I think it would be really good! Staff were friendly, and helpful. The ambiance with chill. Would definitely again in the future!

After eating here, we should have came here instead of having the pizza. It was later in the afternoon when we came in so it was pretty chill. I I did creep out the menu online so I had a general idea of what I wanted. My husband is pretty predictable so he automatically knew what he wanted. So for lunch I got the 7" pepper steak and my husband got the 7" steak classic with no onions. We both got extra meat instead on getting a bigger sandwich. Yo, this sandwich was so good! My meat was cooked perfectly and not dry! It had a ton of jalapenos and banana peppers. It was cheesy and savory. The bread was soft and not dense. Every bite of it was so good! Not gonna lie, the jalapenos were creeping up on me towards the end. They were getting spicy! I might do half the jalapenos next time. The banana peppers added a nice acid to the sandwich. I polished that baby off and was so full! Well, as full as I was, this joint does offer ice cream. Of course we had to grab some! So, my husband and I grabbed a single scoop of cookies and cream on a sugar cone. It was a decent sized scoop. The gal that scooped it did have a hard time scooping it, it was kinda hollow in the middle. But, it was honestly enough ice cream without officially putting me into food coma. The gals that helped up were really nice! The Phillies here are killer good! The venue is open and spacious. Huge tvs on the wall would make this joint fun during football season! My husband and I enjoyed our sandwiches and look forward to coming back for more!

Today, our friend brought us to Garden City to walk along the river, and then over to Uncle Guiseppe's for lunch. It is a small, seemingly authentic New York deli that serves a great number of different sandwiches, along with specialty drinks, like sodas, sparkling water, and lemonade. They also well things like pastries and, of interest to us, jarred roasted tomatoes. My wife had the #9 Monte Cristo, and I had the #3 Bonanza. Delicious. I also had a Manhattan Special Black Cherry soda, also super yummy. My mistake, not realizing what I was doing, was to order "whole" vs "half" sandwiches. The whole are footlong. I ate the entire sandwich, holy moly! My wife brought half home. Next time I would probably order a half. The owner, who I will call Guiseppe, had the heavy East Coast accent, and checked on all of his customers, making sure they were happy and satisfied. This place is a little gem. We're already talking about our next visit to Garden City to walk and have lunch at Uncle Guiseppe's!

We made our way in and waited till they showed up. The vibe was chill. There was another gentleman eating his burger. My husband and I checked out the menu while we waited. After my in laws showed up, we got what we wanted all lined to and ordered. I got the cheeseburger tonight with no bun and extra onions. I also good a side of zucchini fries. It's been about a year since we have eaten here and I remember the zucchini fries being so good! My burger looked fabulous! The zucchini fries had a nice golden crust to them. I was ready to dig in. I would have liked to put ketchup and mustard on my burger but unfortunately there were no to go packets of either. I can't really use communal sauces so I had to pass on adding sauce to my burger or be able to dip my husband's fries in ketchup. My burger was tasty. I did order it with extra onions and didn't really get any extra. I also don't remember my zucchini fries being so minimal to an order. The side I got today had about 6 rounds in it. As an additional cost, I honestly thought it would be more than 6 small rounds. It's been a year since we have eaten here. The food was good as usual. I do enjoy all the pinball machines that you can play on. The staff is nice. I appreciate that everything we ate today was locally sourced. I am sure we will be back again soon. Hopefully sooner than later.

I have driven by and have heard about this joint of social media. A couple of my Niner homies come here during football season. So, it sounded chill to have lunch at this sports bar. Walking in, I was amazed at how stunning this venue is. It's a sports bar with the tvs but the decor and vibe doesn't make it look like your typical sports bar. This venue makes you want to act proper. And acting proper would be so hard during football season. It's too pretty to be acting rowdy. We sat by the cool flameless fireplace/pit. A sweet gal came and grabbed our drink order. While drinks were being prepared, we checked out the menu. It's a smaller menu but they have a little bit of everything. I got the Giggy burger, bunless with an extra patty. My husband got the finger steaks with fries. Our food came out and we were both ready to eat. My burger looked good. The cheese was nice and melty on top. I got a side of mixed veggies as my side. My husband's plate had a lot of fries. The finger steaks were fried golden. His plate looked tasty. My burger patties were supposed to be a quarter pound a piece. Honestly, they were thin and tiny. The patties weren't seasoned and were overly dry. The mixed veggies were just steamed broccoli and carrots. I'm sure the carrots are the same carrots used as a side for buffalo wings. And just like the patties, the veggies weren't seasoned as well. My husband's fries were good. You can tell they weren't house cut fries. The finger steaks were seasoned nicely. But the pieces were tiny and the steak was dry. I can see why 80% of the plate was fries. You aren't going to get full off the finger steaks. This venue is so pretty but the food doesn't match the venue. Our meal was sub par. Disappointing cause you'd think that food coming out of this kitchen would be killer. The service was great. The gal that served us today did a good job. I'm happy we got to check this joint out today. It's been on my to go list for a hot minute. Kinda bummed that the food missed the mark today.

Walking in, you immediately notice the huge LCD screens all around the restaurant, and it was perfect for catching a Monday Night Football game while you eat. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, offering drinks several times even though we weren't in the mood. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich for my wife and the three street tacos for me. Her sandwich was tasty, and my tacos were okay, though the chicken was a bit dry. My dinner salad was standard. I did ask for pepper, but it never arrived. Is is something they could keep in mind, as they (and like many places) don't provide salt and pepper on the tables. Service was polite, though plate clearing and follow-ups felt a bit minimal. It gave the impression that this is a spot geared more toward grabbing a beer and some bar food rather than a full dinner experience. Overall, Giggy D's is a good choice for a casual bite and watching a game. Just manage your expectations as it's far from a gourmet spot, but it delivers on friendly atmosphere and classic bar food. If you're looking for something similar, Rudy's or Brixx might be comparable or slightly better options.
