We were shocked to walk in on a Sunday at noon to see no line-it was a Sunday miracle! We haven't been back to Capriotti's for a while as it is always incredibly busy with long wait times for food. Since we were eager to try it out again and didn't see a line, we yanked our car into a parking spot and ran in for lunch. Ordering went quickly but we had a little sticker shock when it was $34 for two small sandwiches with chip/drink combos. Add in tip and it was almost $38. That's more than we expected to spend. I was also quite disappointed to see that they took away my beloved Diet Pepsi and replaced with Pepsi Zero (this is not the same!!!!). Double whammy with high prices and I didn't get my only choice for a drink. It wasn't just me, two people who walked past me said "no Diet Pepsi?". At least I wasn't alone. Food still took much longer than we thought to get out, with no lines and only a few people at tables and an occasional door dash driver showing up. After about 20 minutes our sandwiches arrived and we were famished. My chicken bacon ranch sandwich was oozing with ranch, chicken and bacon were hot and the overall flavor was exceptional. However, the chicken was in thin, craggy pieces that were texturally unappealing. I would have appreciated juicy chunks or even strips. My husband truly suffered with his standard turkey sandwich. He kept telling me how dry it was, so I tried some to see if he was being a drama llama. The turkey was so dry that I had to fill my mouth with lemonade to swallow it down. My husband recently found out that there's a Capriotti's in town. He follows them on social media and now we finally get to try it! We live about 25 minutes away so we made our way to Star. We did check out the online menu so we knew what we wanted when we got there. We did take another minute to look over the menu in person. The gal that was helping was neither rude or nice. She was just mehh. She took our order and was quite expressionless. As our first time there, her service was a little off putting. For lunch my husband got a Philly with no extras, just meat and cheese. I got the grilled Italian with hot and sweet peppers. We also got a small naked fry. My sandwich was ok. It was loaded with meat and veggies. There was something about it that I didn't really care for. I did ask for a side of mayo. Adding the mayo helped. The peppers did add a nice heat to it! After finishing my sandwich, I believe it's the Italian type herbs that was sprinkled on. I didn't really care for it. My husband's sandwich was really good! The meat was cooked nicely and the cheese was melty. I took a couple bites of his and it was tasty. The fries were nicely salted. For a small you got a good amount of fries! They were a nice addition to the sandwich. With Jimmy John's, Jersey Mike's and Uncle Giuseppe's around the corner from us, the service and the sandwich didn't thrill me to the point that I'd drive 25 minutes to come back. The service and the sandwich was ok. We did have to see what he hype was all about but after reading some other reviews, it doesn't look like what I was experiencing was something abnormal. First time getting food here. Terrible experience! It was packed but it was Friday, so that's to be expected. We ordered on Capriotti's online system. Two Small French dip sandwiches, a large fry and a root beer. I asked the young person behind the counter for fry sauce. She said, "You didn't order any and we don't have fry sauce." The bag was stapled shut and seemed full. The root beer was about an inch and a half short of full. We got home and there was only one sandwich in the bag. It would have taken 15-20 minutes round trip to go back. After we ate, my wife called and asked for the manager. Paige answered and my wife told her about her experience. I was sitting in the room while the call was made. Paige repeatedly interrupted my wife. My wife tried to explain why we didn't go back to the restaurant when we found our order was missing a sandwich. My wife was frustrated for sure, but kept a calm, even tone. The manager seemed more interested in excuses and ending the call than finding a solution. She said a refund for the sandwich would take about a week to go back on the card. My wife said she would rather take the offer of coming in and getting a card for a free sandwich. The manager then said that is no longer an option and she won't be served in the store again because my wife was yelling at her. My wife's voice never raised from a conversational tone. We plan on speaking with the owners. The customer service was terrible and the food was average at best. We won't be back or ordering from there again. Jersey Mike's, Albertson's and other restaurants will now get our business when we want a sandwich. read more

I haven't actually visited here in person as it's located in Star and I never go to Star.. I've been to Star once since I moved to Idaho and I just happened to drive through as I made a wrong turn LOL.. It's a cute town but I just never really have a reason to make a drive there.. well, in the future I might now! I've ordered from them twice through doordash. I was pleasantly surprised that they accepted delivery orders to Nampa where I live and wanted to try them because I love sandwiches and so does my fiancé. First time I had the "Bobbie" which is like a Thanksgiving turkey sammich with cranberry sauce and stuffing. It was delicious.. though I did get a couple tough pieces of gristle from the turkey, that was not a dealbreaker for me because the flavor was perfect! I also ordered a regular fry cup the first time and for not being large size, it was a BIG cup of fries and they were also very tasty! The fries are like long and thin steak fries perfectly salted. Just last night I ordered from them again because I was at work and my fiancé sent me a message that he was hungry but there was nothing to eat at home that sounded good and he's also low on cash until his payday next week so he couldn't place an order so I decided to send him a sandwich and fries while I was still at work.. I ordered him a large BLT and a large cup of fries and he was just as impressed as I was! He said the sandwich was so ginormous that it was sticking far out of the bag it was in! It's big enough for him to easily eat off that same sandwich for 3 meals!! I was pleased to hear that because I spent $25 on the sandwich alone in this delivery order and at that price for a sandwich, I hope you'll have enough for at least a couple days lol He also loved the fries and said the portion on those was also pretty big which I knew it would be considering I've had the regular size before and it was quite big. It still doesn't beat our favorite sandwich shop (Firehouse Subs) but we like it and we will definitely order from them again.. especially if they end up expanding to have more locations preferably around Nampa and Meridian! **my fingers are crossed** read more

Two stars because my first order was good but the second was horrible. First time I ordered, was on opening day. I got a fantastic sandwich and fries. So I decided to order a second time, and wow, what a difference. Wife and I decided to try their salads as the description and photos made it look good, boy oh boy were we wrong. $13 for a full bbq chicken salad which was so pathetic. The salad had very little chicken and toppings and chicken was borderline frozen and looked like it came out of a can! Some of the lettuce was rotten and overall just super unappealing. I think i will stick with other food spots for a chicken salad and possibly tray a different sandwich later on, who knows tho. You can do better. read more

I made a trip to Capriottis after receiving notice they made changes to their menu based on customer feedback which is great customer service. I ordered online and their app is very easy to use. The restaurant was not near as busy as it had been during their opening days. I ordered a waygu cheesesteak with hot and sweet peppers and fries. My mobile order came up in about 10 minutes and I decided to eat there since there were plenty of clean tables available. One of their changes was adding more meat to the sandwich. The sandwich was much fuller and filled with well grilled beef and the mix of hot/sweet peppers. So filling I could only eat half. The second thing they did was change the fries. I love the new fries which have that rough and crusty exterior and a soft inside. I love that these fries were not seasoned or heavily salted. The small is a large order and those fries came out piping hot. So glad I was able to try them after they made some adjustments. Great job and we will see you soon. read more

Stopped in today and had a basic turkey sub. The flavor was good but the turkey was extremely dry. I know turkey isn't the moistest (is that a word?), but this was well into sawdust range. More mayo would have helped. My wife's sandwich was better according to her. For two of us getting small sandwiches with regular drink and chips was $34. We should have gone to Chilis or Red Robin for that price. Either way, waaay too expensive for what we got. Not likely to come back. This was our second visit but the magic was gone. I just got back from the Star location and truly wish I could give more stars. First off the original Philly Cheese Steak was very good and tasty and that's the only reason you're getting 2 stars. Everything else totally sucked. Customer service sucked!! When I ordered there were 5 other customers in front of me with only 4 employees working on a Friday night at 6pm. The older lady and a younger blonde girl were doing the cooking. The other two were early 20 males who seemed totally lost with the idea of customer service. I ordered my sandwich and fries at 6:10pm. As I was waiting I observed the male with large tattoo on his neck (can't say his name because no name tags) who was taking orders and handing out orders. He would ignore customers waiting to order for at least 10 mins before any acknowledgment. It looked like he was running the fry machine to. He never had gloves on. He was focused on setting up the orders by placing the fries on the counter for the up coming orders. He was also setting completed sandwiches on the counter as well, but not putting anything in the bags. I did go up after 25 minutes and asked about my order. He stated I'm busy and ignored me. Finally after 45 mins he called my name. I watched him put a cup of fries in my bag that sat on the counter for about 15 minutes. The fries were almost cold. When I came up he handed me my bag and didn't even say "sorry for the wait" just turned around. The older lady I assume she was the manager because she would talk to customers who had a complaint but here attitude was so nonchalant. I've been here twice since they opened. The first time was right after they opened which was busy but I did not wait 45 minutes for one sandwich and fries. If you haven't been to Capriotti's in Star yet you have to try it! Friendly staff, clean, and very high-quality ingredients. I literally crave the Bobbie, which is turkey, stuffing, cranberry, etc. They pull their own turkey and make their stuffing from scratch! When I needed lunch for about 30 people, they were able to quickly put together an amazing sandwich platter that everyone loved! The owners are the sweetest people, and they do such a great job. I have had many sandwiches from various shops and nothing beats Capriotti's. I've had other Capriotti's and Star is the best location. The owners are fantastic and very friendly and approachable should you need something. The staff and the restaurant is very inviting and friendly. Hands down better than any Jersey Mikes or FireSubs. My favorite is the Wagyu Cheesesteak with double cheese and sweet peppers. Their peanut butter cookie is the best next comes the blondie. I love that setting of the restaurant. read more

First time visit to the Star ID location. July 16, 2025. As I was waiting to place my order at the counter, a male worker with food gloves on came out the front to meet a UPS delivery driver. The food worker picked up 2 filthy boxes and brought them back behind the counter and then returned to making the next sandwich with the SAME food gloves on. My turn to order a turkey sandwich which I paid for with a $ 20 bill. The other young fellow taking my order had his food gloves on as well, took my $ 20 and gave me cash back and then went right back to the kitchen to start making my sandwich without putting a new pair of food gloves on. I called to him and told him to change his food gloves and that I did not want the bread roll he had already handled with this "soiled" food gloves. I took my sandwich and left the store and came home. But before eating, I decided to trash my lunch as I realized both of these employees with their soiled food gloved had been in the condiment bins grabbing lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc. with their soiled food gloves even before I came into the store. These employees are either not receiving food safety training and/or ignore it when the boss is not in the store. second time I tried Capriottis and both times service sucks. lots of employees but service was slow. Last time we waited 30 minutes for two sandwich's and the place wasn't that busy, just poorly run. Watched many errors on the register when other people ordered, need better training. No one seems to help each other to fill waiting orders.
