Fried oyster basket was delicious. Comes with cocktail sauce. Well fried, not greasy, not over or under done. Came out piping hot. Snow crabs let's in Captain Crab sauce. Sauce was very salty. Crab legs were nice and seemed fresh. It's like $31 a pound so kinda pricey for what you get. Shrimp with head on in garlic butter sauce. I liked this sauce a lot. Still a reddish sauce so that might be the difference between garlic butter and garlic butter (only) sauce. The Mother also enjoyed this sauce as it was less salty. I enjoyed sucking the juice and shrimp head. Potatoes aren't seasoned so gotta dip in the sauce too. Didn't try the corn. Service was polite. that's it. Not very warm or enthusiastic. He didn't smile once. He wasn't mean, tone was always cordial, but definitely was just doing his job and waiting for the day to end. If you want a happy bubbly server, this ain't it. I'm indifferent, just want my food and to be checked on once, so service didn't bother me. More modern looking restaurant, more spacious than some crab places, clean bathrooms but I did go during the week at noon. read more

Stayed in Folsom and was on my way home to San Jose and my Grandson wanted to eat some seafood boil I'm a bag. This place came up on our search and was on our route. We have a favorite place in San Jose called Crab Bay that is always when we go so our expectations are high and we are hungry!!! Walked into this place and no one was at the front counter to greet us so we stood there waiting to be seated. I walked in a little further to get noticed and one of the waitresses asked if I needed help, I told her there were 2 of us wanting to be seated. She said okay the girl should be back out shortly. The place was not busy and she could've easily sat us and gave us menus. Another couple walked in behind us and asked us if we had been helped yet. I said no. I could see a girl in the kitchen with a rolling cart putting bags on the cart for Door dash pick ups. We waited for 5-6 minutes when another customer walked in holding his phone and looked to be picking up a Door dash order. The girl with the cart comes out of the kitchen to the counter, ignores me standing there and goes straight to the guy standing at the counter holding his phone and helps him. Then she asks my Grandson who sat down by now in front of the counter if he need help, I said he's with me and we are waiting to be seated!! She grabs 2 menus and seats us, which the waitress who first saw us could've done!!! No customer service skills here!! We ordered and it took 10 minutes to get our drinks and we were brought bibs and gloves. Our family meal bag came and the sauce was almost non existent. They did not bring any lemon or salt and pepper in a cup like most seafood boil places to. Had to wait for the waitress to come by and ask for some. I opened the bag and noticed that there was no sausage in the bag and asked and she said you got double shrimp so the sausage is extra!!! Wth!!! For $60 for a family meal deal there's n9 sausage??? We pay $50 in San Jose get double shrimp and it still comes with sausage!! Again our expectations are high so we were definitely not happy. The shrimp was chewy as it was overcooked and what little sauce it was in lacked flavor. This is definitely not a place we will return too!! We will be back in Folsom again next week and will avoid thus place!!!! read more

We ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell - big and meaty but oddly, with no taste whatever! I suspect the kitchen shucked them and then rinsed them, a big non-no, rinsing out that briny natural "oyster liquor" that oyster lovers slurp up. They tasted of tap water, not sea water. They served our crab and oysters with plastic forks, not the long metal crab forks you need to get all the crab meet out of the shell. And these weren't even good plastic forks - they were the cheap kind that break if you push too hard, even on a hush puppy. Service was indifferent at best. The "hostess"'s only comment when we walked in was, "are you dining in or taking out?". Our waitress was similarly disinterested. read more

The service was great! Lovely little lady attended to us, forgot her name. I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so I could experience a little bit of my favorite seafood. I started off ordering 1 lb of fresh crawfish, 1/2 lb of shrimp (with heads), 1/2 lb of clams, and 1/2 lb of sausages. It came to our table pretty quickly as there wasn't much people dining in. Hey! What can I say...I am a big seafood fan, I go all out!!! First few bits in, got hit with flavor explosion! It was good seasoning combination, as I got the Captain Special sauce non-spicy. Then things just went down hill from there. It kept getting salty! Mine you, I mixed that bag up pretty well to evenly distributed the sauce, but it didn't help. I didn't want to say anything as you know the restaurant business went down hill with service, so I suckered up and ate what I could. I felt like a fish, drowning myself with liquids, the food wasn't good after that. I wanted to like this place, maybe it was an off day and the cook went too happy with the seasoning. I got a few bad pieces of crawfish too, it was mushy, that doesn't constitute as fresh! So, this trip was a bust! This is my second time here, and I still just can't get myself to like it. The only thing I honestly like here is the captain sauce, but other than that, I don't like the taste of the sausages that they have in their boils, the shrimp both times that I've been are undercooked, and you can tell that they are undercooked because they are still showing the black spots on them. I also was pretty shocked that they have the tiny snow crab legs. Like the kind you get in buffets. The first time I came it was about a year ago Then my visit today and everything is still the same so it's a no for me. I like boiling crab and firehouse crawfish better. Also, the service this time around was not the best, but I don't blame the server because she was literally the only server in the restaurant I went around 1:30 PM. Food was good, the service was pretty good. Everyone was polite. However, I'm probably not going back. I ordered the 1lb king crab. It was $78. It was 2 large crab legs and 2 very small crab legs. I spit this dish with my wife. 1 small corn ( like the ones you get at KFC). 1 egg. A 1/2 lb of shrimp (not much when you split it. 2 red potatoes (1 each). The sauce was sliced up. Basically it wasn't close to enough food . My stomach has shrank from dieting. It wasn't even close to enough. The likelihood of me eating there again is very slim. Anyway. One of my favorite seafood spots to go to as of late. They've been taking all my money since they've opened. I love the sauce flavors that keeps me coming back for more pick up orders.
