It was a great place for a while. When they first opened, there were fresh cut flowers on every table and people served you at your table. The shrimp skewers were good as was the catfish. Service was good., Then....things went downhill. The A/C went out and the owner (from India) was too cheap to fix it and it was off all summer. Then covid hit. If you are looking for fast food seafood, avoid this place and drive a lot farther to Ft. Worth and find a Long John Silvers. I ordered the fish and shrimp meal with fries and fried okra, (.75 upcharge). The fish was small planks with a bland coating and the 6 butterflied shrimp were very small, overcooked and tasted funny. The fried okra had a very bland coating and tasted like they were heated up in a microwave. I was dying for some nice tasty white fish and I must say I was very disappointed and will not return. I must say that the LJS in this town closed down years ago and with the quality of food here and no further improvements to be had, i will predict that this place will be closed soon. read more

First time trying this place even though we pass it on our way home every day. The menu has a fair number of choices of both battered and grilled items. We both ordered the Shrimp skewers but did mix up the sides a bit. They have a good selection of sides as well! Service was done with a smile and all of our questions answered. They are always the nicest people, huge portions of food, not expensive, and always freshly cooked and hot.

$10 for 2 pieces of greasy fish, 2 sides and a drink seems a bit much to me. Fish was warm, not hot, and super super greasy. Sides (fries and okra) were also warm to the touch and soggy. On a positive note, the service were somewhat fast and the tea was good. read more

We have been to this captain D's two times since it opened. Love the one in Fort Worth for years. The fish and chicken tasted well enough. But after but after our meals we both felt sick to our stomachs. We've read other reviews for the same place with similar comments. Not sure if the foods drained enough of grease or if it's grease that's not being cleaned or something else wrong with it. We are leery of going back for obvious reasons. read more

Being a new place I was hesitant to try it. I had been by a couple of times already and parking lot and drive thru were very busy. Both my wife and I ordered. We had different platters. Hers was fish and chicken. Mine was fish crab and shrimp. Shrimp was good as was the stuffed crab. I did not like the fish as much( I like Long John Silvers) better. Wife liked all of hers. Hush puppies were really good. I had a baked potato and it was good. Needed more butter but cheese was melted and good. Service was good. Cocktail sauce was like catsup and the tarter sauce dispenser doesn't work very well. You'll pump for awhile to get a little. I will try it again and take some wasabi to wake up the cocktail sauce. read more

The staff are friendly and know the menu. When it comes to knowing how often the vinegar bottles are cleaned, that's another story. It was the end of the night, store was closing in 30 minutes, but given the answer of once a day and "people use them all day." Did it occur to the staff that 1x a day may not be enough. Food was tasty. It's fried fish, but it was fairly hot, cole slaw similar to KFC, nothing earth shattering but decent. I would highly recommend getting individual malt vinegar packets, though. read more
