Review for this place is long overdue. Found out about this place years ago when I worked at midtown on 30th st during lunch. They had a crazy lunch deal, $10.95 for a meal and a drink, unbelievable! Not anymore but the food is still worth paying regular price. Recently came here with a friend on a Wednesday night. The place is dim but not too dim and it's not too loud even though they had trivia night. Ordered the chicken shish kebab ($18.95) and it was delicious just how I remembered it. The Tzatziki sauce is different from the last time I had it, it was more liquidy before, either way it was still good. If you want good drinks, food and chill vibes, this is the place. I will be back for the chicken shish kebab.

Not necessarily the friendliest service, but maybe that was their intention for the vibe. Can't argue though that they have some pretty cheap happy hour deals sometimes on their sign. The jello shots had a nice kick and it was nice seeing the draft beers in their corresponding glasses.

Captain's Cafe Bar and Grill is New York City's modern day version of Cheers. I am so thankful that we stumbled upon Captain's when we first moved to the city. Captain's is a family owned midtown bar where you will find locals, visitors, and regulars relaxing, chatting, and drinking anything from a cold budlight to a johnny on the rocks. Appetizers are excellent (especially the hummus) and the food is great but the best part about Captain's is the crowd. The owner/Captain and his crew are sincere, kind-hearted people that make you feel right at home. So whether visiting town or local, for good food, great drinks, and even better company, you should definitely check out Capatin's Cafe Bar & Grill...where everybody knows your name!

While the bartender is quite nice the owner is very rude and disrespectful. Will not return. Kitchen closed at 10p. Chalkboard says open but they may tell you it's closed if they don't approve of your patronage.

Great little place!! The owner is the chef and makes the food with care :) We came for breakfast on a Sunday morning... totally worth the find !! Good omelettes and French toast ... I loved the hash browns (and I'm not even a regular fan of hash browns).

I honestly had to keep saying, "Are you sure you are charging me the right amount?" Came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon at 3:15 pm with little to no expectations and if you are here during their lunch specials, this place is a steal. The food came out within 15 minutes as well. I got a plate of Steak Fajitas on a bed of romaine with sauce to pour on AND a Blue Moon ( you could have gotten a glass of wine or pop) for $12.00 without a tip. The Fajitas were definitely above average, and the fact it was a salad made it better for me but when I got that meal (which I was hungry and filled me) and the beer, I was and still am pretty shook about how cheap it was! It is also down the street from the Empire State Building so where they would be getting a lot of tourists and can charge whatever they want essentially, it made it all the more confusing! Overall: A STEAL! Definitely quality food but for such a deal, it is hard to turn down!

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was inviting and beautifully curated, with a lively energy that made the entire experience feel distinctly New York. The food was wonderful. The cheese board was an absolute standout, beautifully presented with a thoughtful selection of cheeses and accompaniments that balanced savory and sweet flavors perfectly. The Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences throughout the meal felt fresh, authentic, and elevated. The hummus, tahini, olives, Turkish specialties, and beautifully arranged spreads were all delicious and clearly prepared with care. What made the experience even better was the hospitality. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, creating a relaxed atmosphere where we could simply enjoy the food and the company. NAR manages to combine beautiful design, wonderful food, and genuine hospitality in a way that feels sophisticated without being overly formal. It has that unmistakable New York energy--fashionable, vibrant, and memorable. A wonderful experience from beginning to end. Come for the atmosphere, stay for the incredible food, and absolutely do not miss the cheese board. NAR is a beautiful addition to New York's dining scene, and I'm already looking forward to returning.

I added to my list but didn't try it until this week and I was blown away! The restaurant is lovely and has a great vibe (although it is a little loud due to the low ceilings). Service was great reflecting exceptional Turkish hospitality. My friends and I started with small mezzes (all delicious) and zucchini blossoms, which I could have had as a standalone meal. I had the Turkish delight meat dish and that was super. My husband had the beyti and it was the best I've ever had. We all ate way too much and waddled out of there way too full. Prices are about what you'd expect in that part of town and it's worth every penny. I will definitely be back. I recommend that you go here too and am confident you'll find everything is cok guzel!

Warm, cozy, and inviting, with a relaxed vibe that made it easy to settle in and linger over the meal. Appetizers We started with a cheese flatbread, boat-shaped and blistered at the edges, the interior molten and gooey with a bright basil leaf on top. Simple but done really well, crisp crust giving way to all that warm cheese. Mains The brunch dishes were the highlight. A sizzling skillet of eggs cooked over spiced sausage came out rich and savory, the yolks just set, perfect for scooping up with the basket of warm bread on the side. The tomato-based baked eggs were equally good, a deep, well-seasoned sauce with a little heat and fresh herbs on top. Comforting, generous, and full of flavor. Drinks The blackberry mocktail was a standout, refreshing and beautifully garnished with a cluster of fresh blackberries. Always great to see a thoughtful non-alcoholic option that feels like more than an afterthought. Service Attentive and warm throughout. The team kept everything moving smoothly without ever feeling rushed. Verdict Five stars. Delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and a mocktail worth ordering on its own. The place wasn't busy during lunch time but busy during dinner time. Amazing service and delicious food! The food was fresh and came out fast. Lunch specials are $21.95 for 2 courses while dinner specials are $36.95 for 4 courses. I had the Eggplant with Tomato Sauce and Beets as the first course and Lamb Adana Kebab as Entrée. Lamb Adana Kebab comes with salad, which I can't have since it's cold and raw, but they were able to accommodate me and replaced salad with more rice. I had Kabak Tatlısı, which has a nice sweet taste and is healthy. All were delicious, also gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Plus, the Turkish Tea as the fourth course was a great pair with my meals. Their menu offers a variety of choices, including options that are gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. I would definitely come back and suggest you give this place a try if you are in Hell's Kitchen or Columbus Circle.
