WOW! 1000000000/10 would recommend these guys. My hybrid ford escape wouldn't start and I've unfortunately had this issue before. I had it towed to Car Nerds and within 20 minutes they called me saying it's fixed at no charge. (!!!!!!!) I waited WEEKS and spent thousands for this same repair at a dealership. Car Nerds even showed me how to flip the switch on the hybrid battery myself in case it happens again. NO MORE STEALERSHIP VISITS! Just left Car Nerds speechless. Been using them for years. Called yesterday for help replacing a bulb for my little fiat. They said come by at 230. I did. Part was sitting on managers desk, he had it installed and was out of there in less than 10 mins. Oh, and they said "no charge, catch us later." Worst experience I've ever had with a repair shop. My catalytic converter was stolen. Car Nerds said that it could take a while to get the replacement part. After several WEEKS, that's right, WEEKS, they still hadn't fixed the problem. They did park my car on the street, though--far from the shop. I found that out when 1) I got a parking ticket while it was in their possession, and 2) my car was covered in dirt and debris. I finally had to demand my car back so I could take it to a repair shop that would actually do the work. I will never go to Car Nerds again! read more

These guys and my cars go way back, since I used to teach ballet in front of their shop and the dance studio was already there when they opened back in the mid 2010s, if I remember right. I used to have a cool yet very troubled convertible Mazda (stick shift) that required a lot of maintenance and they were always honest, realistic and helpful in the diagnostic process and in discussing the most convenient solutions with me. As of now I drive a LS 460 and I also own a Fiat 500 that - knocking on wood - run flawlessly so I stop by just for routine maintenance (light stop change, oil change, etc.) and I am still encountered with the same old friendliness and reliability. I drove a little too far over a little curb in a parking lot and dislodged the plastic covering under my car. My friend was in town so we were using my car a lot and I hoped that it would be a quick fix. I was dreading calling my mom's preferred auto shop because I had a bad experience there, and they said they wouldn't even look at it until the next day. Car Nerds kindly agreed to take a look at it the same day, and even fixed it immediately since it wouldn't take long. Everyone was really friendly and nice and didn't make me feel stupid for driving over curbs. In addition to the superior service, their prices are very good compared to the quotes from my dealership for services I had been putting off for the past 6 months. I am not sure if it's fair for me to review this place, but I saw the good reviews and decided to come by since my check engine light came on. When I arrived the parking area was PACKED. This place was obviously super busy. I showed up before it opened eager to be seen first. I then proceeded to wait at least 20 minutes past opening without being helped. There was an employee waiting outside as well for the place to be opened. I'm a bit disappointed to see the business not opening in a timely manner. I brought my BMW X1 to Car Nerds because the engine light was on. They said they had to order the piece from BMW and my car stayed there for a couple of days. As soon as I drove away the engine light came back on. I brought my car back and they had it for another day (again) but my engine was NOT fixed. On top of this, there was a scratch that they could not explain on my bumper. Matt is really nice but the service I asked for was not performed. I had to ask for my money back, which they immediately gave me. I went to BMW and they sent me a video of a crack in my engine, which was the problem. Those guys are nice but do not know BMWs. Honest, reliable and trustworthy! My boyfriend took my Chevy here to get some work done to fix the check engine lights. We got a same day appointment and left the car overnight at Car Nerds. Matt gave us a very fair quote of $575 to fix what we thought were all the problems with the car. However, upon further inspection, Matt noticed there was severe damage done to the head gasket and engine. As a result, he actually cautioned us about proceeding with the repairs since the car wouldn't last much longer. So instead of easily taking our money, doing the repairs and sending us on our way like every other shop would have, he was honest and saved us a ton of money and headache! And to top it off - He didn't even charge us! We tried to give some money for the diagnostic and honesty but they wouldn't even take our money. Bottom line, this shop operates with pure integrity! My Prius gave me the hybrid battery read triangle of death while driving up Los Flores Canyon, while my family and I were 300 miles from home and it was Saturday night in the middle of a Memorial Day holiday. Fortunately, Ronnie from Car Nerds answered the phone after hours and even agreed to stay late to run a diagnostic. It told him that one cell was starting to go bac, but that the other cells were still strong enough for it to make the drive home. Thanks to Ronnie, I'm now dealing with the problem from home and our plans weren't entirely ruined by panic over whether the car would suddenly lose all power. When I tried to thank Ronnie, who was as nice as could be, with some cash for his troubles, he refused it. What year is this??!! Our cars aren't just objects to us so finding a car doctor I can trust was paramount. I took my Jeep Wrangler to them for some intermittent electrical issues. Turns out, it was just that my battery cables had somehow become loosened. I was relieved that it was nothing more serious and even more shocked when I picked it up and my bill was $0. The Car Nerds have been nothing but amazing to my 2012 Ford Focus. I had some random issues (my horn not working, my rear view camera randomly upside down) and investigated the car multiple times to try to diagnose the issue before charging me anything. When I got the actual repair work done, the charges were absolutely fair. A few days ago, my low tire pressure light came on as I happened to be driving by, and Matt within 5 minutes refilled the tires at no charge which was such a relief in the pouring rain. I want to start by saying I've had some really bad experiences at other places for a number of reasons I'm sure, but mainly because I'm a girl who doesn't know how to work on my vehicle. I have a 2018 Subaru outback that I solely get serviced at the dealership just so I can make sure I'm not getting got and if anything pops up i can always go back but it is super pricey to go through the dealership all the time! I wanted to price shop and reached out to Ronnie and Gil for a quote. I needed a 30K major service and the dealership quoted me over $1200! when I talked to Ronnie and Gil they explained to me the things that I absolutely do need and the things that on the quote from the dealership that were not necessary. All in all, I ended up paying significantly less at car nerds than what the dealership quoted. Ronnie and Gil were super communicative when some thing had popped up that wasn't expected they got my major service done in a timely manner, and afterwords even pointed out some things that are going to come up for fixing at a future date with pricing and explained to me why it needs to be done! Most other shops I've gone to don't communicate, do things without asking and then I'm left to foot the bill not knowing what I paid for and why. My current boyfriend is an ex mechanic and he was out of town but double checked everything when he got back really impressed with Ronnie and Gil and the fact that they were able to communicate everything to me and didn't try to overcharge me for things that didn't need to be done! We were both super happy with the quality of work and attention to detail these guys have. I've definitely gone some places where they said they've completed work and come to find out they didn't that isn't the case here at Car Nerds! Moving forward I'll ONLY come here for any services or work that needs to be done on my Subaru. :) thanks guys! read more
