Novio and I are currently on vacation in Isabela, Puerto Rico; land of sea and sun. Since we are renting an apartment and cooking in order to save some money, today I decides to go on strike and force Novio to take me out to dinner. He kindly obliged and we were in the car driving through Jobos beach when we stumbled upon Caracol. It's a cute little hub with white clean decoration and seat yourself scenario. There are big open windows facing the beach, you get little droplets of salt water if the waves are strong enough. The menu is limited, we ordered rooa vieja plantains as an appetizers, Novio really enjoyed those. As a main course he ordered the whole fried chillo and I decided to order an appetizer as my main course, Baja fish tacos. I had a side of mofongo while novio had a side of Mampositao' rice, a local favorite. Ordering an appetizer as my dish was the way to go because its three whole hard shell tacos, I did not finish the Mofongo because I was so full!!! Novio ate the entire fish, except the eyeballs, although I did tell him they would help heal his cold he still refused. He ordered a beautiful and pipping hot coffe made fresh from their lovely and intricate machine, I ordered a ginger flan. Easily one of the best and most original flans I have ever tried. Great place. Forgot ro mention Novio ordered a Heineken, they dont have artisanal beers, I simply stuck to classic water on the rocks. Overall great small place and not to expensive capping at $50. Parking is on street and there are a lot of spaces available. read more
