Very nice upscale Mexican restaurant. The first time i was there for houston restaurant week. I thought it was just decent. Wouldn't say I loved it or anything. But This time i was there for Sunday brunch buffet and that was very impressive. The most memorable dish on buffet was the super fresh oyster. I don't like big oysters because you can really taste it but to enough the size. Their small oyster with dish roe is alone already worth the money. I think each person is $35.99. I mean if you go to a regular high end seafood restaurant. Couple dozen oysters probably cost that much. Their seafood ceviche was also something I remember very clearly. There are tons of stuff on different plate all very fresh and warm. Non of them are dry or hard to chew. Pretty impressive items considering it took me several round to try a little bit of everything. Desert station is awesome. Definitely too much calories for one brunch. But it's worth it. I think their brunch buffet is perfect for birthday celebration. Mother's Day and other small family gathering. Place is big but not noisy, staff are supper attentive. Highly recommended! read more

I have never written a Yelp review, but this experience was the worst I've had in Houston so I feel compelled to write. It was my buddy's bday and I have never been this disappointed at one of Hugo's restaurants!!!! We were seated promptly, which was the highlight of the evening. It took 20 minutes for our server to come to the table. He took our food order, and we also ordered the sangria. He did not show up again until the end. We had to ask another server to refill our water because our server was MIA. We then sat there waiting to order entree's, but again our server never showed up. I had to go to the Host stand to ask for our bill. The host realized how upset we were, and sent a manager over and all he said was, and I quote, "sorry for the wait, the sangria is on us."I will never come back, nor will I recommend this spot to my friends or my clients!! I manage a restaurant in City Centre and my wife is also in the restaurant business, and we were both left bitterly disappointed. I was brought here for a business dinner. I don't know whether I should categorize this restaurant as a seafood restaurant prepared Mexican style or a Mexican restaurant that serves a lot of fish. Either way, the food was very good and unique. I ordered the striped bass served with a wonderful sauce. The bass was good, but not great. The appetizers were excellent, especially the lobster bites as was the toquitos. The brussel sprout kebobs were fabulous and I simply rave about the mushrooms. Others in our party had the steak and loved the preparation and the taste. We all tried the tres leches cake which is absolutely sinful. Wine list was great. Our driver, was prompt and courteous. Food was great and packaged appropriately. Definitely will use this service again. I had tried a few food delivery services prior to trying this for the first time. Online ordering was a simple and seamless process. . However, I wish I had the option to tip the delivery. However, this is not an option. Customers are only allowed to add tip money to the total before the food is delivered. Why would I leave tip money for a service I have yet to receive? The restaurant is located ideally in the middle of the city. While there, you shall have an opportunity to view the central city park without any distractions.  But wait until you get there, let you not be deceived by its location. Everything from the door to their services to their meals is awful. I ordered fish and some chips, which were brought soggy, and as I tried to chew them, I felt my eyes watering up. Checked out Caracol this afternoon for a lunch meeting. Definitely a nice spot for a business meeting, but not so much for a family gathering. Has a very office-like vibe to it. I had the Tacos De Pescado Al Pastor (which are fish tacos) that was good, but a little bit too salty for my taste. I think the best part of the meal was the churros which were really incredible! Overall, I'd definitely consider it for a meeting in the future but it won't be my first go-to spot. read more

I come here all the time for brunch because I love this place so much and they have great oysters. It is usually topped with mango pico on some of the oysters and they also have oyster shooters as well at the oyster bar. They have a wide selection of desserts and other amazing options for their buffet-style brunch. I would definitely recommend this place. I started my meal off with the ensalada de casa, the salad. I really liked this salad. Then I had the enchiladas which were very good. I love enchiladas and these were amazing. Then I had the churros. I'm usually not a fan of these but they were actually very good and I would recommend getting them. This restaurant had great service and a great atmosphere.
