DO NOT ..... I repeat ..... DO NOT..... DO BUSINESS w/ these people..!! This is kind of Dealership that makes buying a car a MISERABLE, FRUSTRATING, MADDENING experience. Case in point: saw their ad for a '18 Tiguan - drove there w/ my daughter to potentially buy the car for her. Salesperson - Liza (yes, she's mentioned in a couple of other "1" NEGATIVE reviews). Things went relatively OK until it came time to test drive the car. Had to drive the car down to the local gas station and wait while she put about a gallon of gas in the car. Leaving the gas station (my daughter driving), I wanted to take a street that I knew she could get the car up to ~50mph for the test. Liza instructed her to go back to the dealership, on the street that is only a ~30mph street. I questioned this.... her reply, "Oh, this is how we ALWAYS do a test drive". REALLY ...? We never got the car over 30mph on the test drive. Decided to buy the car - offered them the FULL ADVERTISED PRICE of $17,300. So - We wait while she meets w/ Corey (the "GSM that runs the whole store"). After too much time waiting to get to the paperwork phase of buying the car, she comes out w/ an itemization of what it's going to cost. So - they ADDED AN ADDITIONAL $995 to the ADVERTISED PRICE (which I had agreed to pay), taking it to ~$18,300. (see earlier "1" review by Joe C. that got the same $995 BS add-on nonsense) I thought ..... OK - HERE WE GO - typical Slimey - Schlocky Dealership ADD-ON extras BS that was never discussed prior to this. What's it for...? Get this - ~$300 was for 3m door/tailgate edge guard strips (vinyl material) .... that was .....get this ..... INSTALLED BY THE FACTORY AND CAME ON THE CAR WHEN IT WAS NEW. And now they're trying to charge me $300 for this. Liza out & out LIED to me and said that it was JUST installed on the car. I knew it wasn't because it was a bit discolored from being on the car for 2yrs. So - I proved that this was a BS charge by showing them that ALL the NEW cars on their lot had the same mat'l on them from the factory (at no extra charge) Then - there was the extra $300 for the 'Nitro-Fill' protection plan - which was essentially them putting Nitrogen in your tires ($14.00/ tire at any tire store). Had roadside assist that we didn't need - we've got AAA for that. I canceled the Nitro-Fill shortly after buying the car, and after having to get a Notarized 'Mileage' statement - requirement for a refund on this .... I actually got a $300 check back from the Dealership. Amazing...!! Then there was the add'l $399 for the 'ShadowMark' anti-theft add-on. This is basically where parts of the cars are 'etched' w/ a code that would enable Police to trace back to you if your car was stolen and dismantled and they found your doors, hood, etc. at a 'chop shop'. Pardon me - but if my car was stolen... I would likely have a settlement from my insurance Co. and be driving my replacement car WAY before the Police found my body parts in a chop shop. Another $399 spent that was absolutely WORTHLESS.. It's clear that these guys are not above adding on BS add-ons (to get their margins up) that are only disclosed AFTER you've invested several hours in their crappy, out-dated dealership. They are obviously betting on the fact that, after they've worn you down for a couple of hours ...... you'll just go ahead and pay for the extras that you don't want or need ..... just to get the unpleasant process OVER WITH. Save yourself the frustration - go somewhere else - some place REPUTABLE. read more

The guys here were all so great to us when we went out to test drive the egolf. Frank the manger called me night before asked if I would be bringing a guest and what we would like to drink. The day of they greeted us with our beverage and Brian took us on a great test drive . Not just around the block either he wanted me to get the feel if the car on the freeway. Very informative great customer service all around . Finance department we spent some time there and really Andrew was not only professional in every way but very funny too. I took my Passat TDi because the clutch was not functioning properly. When the car is cold, the clutch does not come up all the way. I left the car with them at noon and they told me they will check out the car next morning to see if they can replicate the issue. They called back in a couple of hours and said the mechanic recommends the clutch be replaced ($3200). When I took the car the clutch was not showing the symptoms as it was already warmed up. The whole point was to determine cause. The mechanic did a test drive and said it needs replacement. No other diagnosis and charged me $160 for 2 minutes. Aaron the parts manager got involved when I said how do you justify the charge. Absolute scam artists. Do not get you car serviced here. read more

I was helped by Internet Manager Jacquie who was patient with all my requests and special accommodations, not once did I feel rushed or steered. I've owned two VW. I don't think I will buy another not because they are bad cars, I love the vehicles, but because of the way I was treated by the service . This dealership uses fine print when sending emails about the discounts they give. After consulting true car I got an email saying they would give me several thousands of MSRP. I replied with inquiry regarding the color combo I wanted. They said they has one in stock. Once I drove out there they said sorry that was sold. So they sold the car between 8:30pm and 9am the next morning? Don't think so. So they offered another car but then wanted $980 for some dealer installed options. Typical car dealer BS. Wasted my time. So I drove to cap vw and got the the car without the BS dealer installed option. read more

I came to service my Jetta - oil change, check brakes, rotate tires, etc. All was good until the end - they told if I wanted the check engine light issue checked. What? I came to service the car! They failed to check it - but the abominable thing was the lady told me it was my fault for not telling them to check it (even though they checked the tire pressure light and cleared it - yes, without permission). Don't buy the prepaid free service maintenance bc they'll do the minimum to avoid fixing the car for free. read more

If only 0 was a option... I went there last night ready to give them $30,000 for a new car. I will start by saying the sales man was really cool and did his job. First the car would not start (not very comforting when you are buying a new car), salesman grabs a charger and we go off for a test drive. After discussing color choices we move on to price. I already had a offer from another dealer and asked them to match it. Enter the reason I recommend everyone stay as far away as possible from this place!!!! The manager comes out and asks me to forward the other offer to him to forward to his boss (ok fair enough). He than disappears into a back room for over 30 min. Got kind of curious as to when he might return and walked over to the office. He was on the phone yelling at a customer telling them its not his problem they are having issues with the new car!!! Overheard something like "your daughter probably did something" ! Wow thats a great way to encourage repeat business! Skip forward another 15 min, he walks up to us and says in a very condescending voice "whats the problem here?" I explain I would buy a car from them if he would match the other dealers price. He informs me they are lying to me and if I think they will actually sell me that car for that price I must be stupid! WTF??? Immediately stood up and walked out. Never before in my life have I had such bad customer service!!! I don't care if the phone call upset him thats not how you treat a potential customer. He never even had a counter offer. Came in twice, that's right, twice because they claimed that they could make a deal happen to our exact requests. Both times we were disappointed by a long wait and an answer of no. We had already talked with a different dealer that approved the numbers so we knew it was possible but Cardinale was closer. Their manager claimed, we would leave to the other dealer, fail, and come crawling back begging for a deal. Where do I start. After speaking to Chris for almost two months he send me an email with the price of the car plus tax and fees. This exactly how he send it to me: Selling Price $34,884 Tax $2797 Reg $366 Doc Fee $80 Total amount finaced $38,127 84 months @ 5.34% Financing $0 Down Payment $545.00 per month I agreed so I decided to drive 2 hours to get the car. Spoke to Leslie, test drive the car then I met the manager very rude guy no way I will ever make a deal with that kind of person NO CUSTOMER SERVICE ETIQUETTE WHATSOEVER. He just said that he doesnt understand how Chris came up with this price so he begin to tell that I had to pay $675 a month and so on. I just didnt like the guy he was horrible I just wish I could finalize the deal with Leslie. Just be careful with this manager if he doesn't get what he wants he will start with his sarcasm. Do NOT take your car here for service unless you want to pay a premium. We have 2 Jettas and we service regularly-- on off chance I tried these guys because they were local. Oil change was $70 vs $50 everywhere else, but I needed quick turnaround. While there they identify vacumm pump issue-- needs to be replaced - quote is $1000. I didn't do the research until after I said ok. Turns out it's a $265 part (they charged $374) and takes around 3 hours to change out -- couple hundred dollars. So instead of a $600 repair, they charged $1000 and the quote from them was "well, that's what we charge". Lesson learned, I can't take my cars to them. read more

We emailed to get a final Cash price out the door price with tax and license and after me having to email a few time, we finally find out it was WAY higher than other VW dealerships. The transaction could not have gone smoother, after Krisztian answered all my questions, gave the opportunity for a test drive, allowed me some private time alone scrutinizing the car, I soon found myself inside talking finance. I was already pre-approved with my favorite Credit Union, but CardinaleWay matched them step for step and ultimately gave me a slightly better interest rate. I bought a used Passat, which I love. The problem was how the dealer didn't bother telling me this was in an accident! Yes! I later noticed that the lid and other parts had been repainted, as indicated by the minor fisheye job. They dropped the price and then charged me another $1,00 or $1,500 (I forget) for the "pre-owned certified." Again, I noticed after the fact that the car was already certified pre-owned as advertised, so the price shouldn't have gone up. I will never go back, even though Chris was good to work with. Well let's start with the pros: I got the vehicle I wanted. I saw an ad on Craigslist and sent a text to the number and got a response right away (it was 1230am) did not expect that. Kamal was on the money when it came to making me feel comfortable. Cons (reason why I rated it 3 starts as opposed to 5 like I was going to) I'll start with my biggest reason, Before they ran my credit and i signed anythuling I asked how many banks they were going to run it through. ..Kamal said one and not to worry about it that they don't go crazy. when I checked my credit monitoring monday (I was there on a Saturday ) I got alerted for 10 checks lost some points there. I am a member of the armed forces and integral values are things I look for in people and in a business . The vehicle I wanted was sold but the ad was still up and I drove all the way from the hd without getting notice that the vehicle was sold. One of the vehicles I test rode had tiptronic shift and it wouldn't shift up when in sport mode. Another vehicle ran out of gas when we went to test drive it. One vehicle was dead I'd say go on a weekday with something preapproved to avoid getting your credit ran 10 times. Though there's a lot more negatives than positives I would recommend this place to someone I know I'd just make them aware of these things so the same does not happen to them. read more

AS A CAR DEALER.... I had the WORST experience here, we were going to buy a used car and the first salesman, when we told him we would not pay the overprice dealer add on of almost $1000 for a vinyl trim at the edge of the doors and the window vin number edge (which use to be an option and now for some insane reason they put it on and you are stuck with it) was very rude and told us "not to worry that for that price someone else will buy the car" so we walk out.... we went back that evening to actually talk to someone and see if they would take our offer and that's when we found out whether you like it or not you are paying for 4 little strips of plastic so again we walked out.... then we got calls and i told them i was not going to waste my time going there so if they take the plastic off or not charge me for it we would go and get it.... 2 weeks later that car still sits there and we actually drove to McKenna VW in Cerritos with the nicest people got a better car and a better deal!!!! We bought 2 other cars here and the service it was getting bad, now I would not recommend it, 1 Star is too many.... read more

Truly unhappy. Spoke with a man named Sal and was told my car was still under warranty for the part they replaced got the car towed over there from my mechanic. Next day get a call from Matt to be told that what was wrong with my car and that some of the parts would be cover but they would need to keep my car for extra 4 days to see if the other parts could be covered as well. 4 days pass get a call from Matt to be told that none of its on warranty and to get it fixed would cost me almost 2 thousand. Talked to manager Danny Radcliffe to see how could this miss communication get this bad to get a reply sorry the people spoke with ASSumed and there is nothing can do about reimbursing me for tow for their mistake and misleading information. Got it towed my mechanic who isn't going to over charge me! Foreign and domestic repair on riverside dr and central. A true honest mechanic! read more

Vince and his sales manager Charbel were amazing. Just had a horrible experience at the dealership in riverside (riverside dealership is shady) and these two were just great !! They stayed after they were closed for us and I said I was hungry and Vince offered to go get me food. I get it there job is to do what they can so you buy a car from them but that's not how they made me feel and I would recommend going to them if u want a car !!! So its time for the lease option to turn in or buy. We decide we are buying the vehicle. VW Credit of America rep tells me over the phone to "go to the dealer you bought it from- they will tell you all about the promotions and give you the best financing." I tell the rep that the last thing in the world I am going to do is return to a dealer that ripped me off on the original deal to get screwed over again. So what goes around truly comes around.
