Food was great. Took my mother in law for her Birthday and she was so happy. We had the Picadillo and Churrasco steak.

I came here on the recommendation of a Cuban friend of mine. She described the restaurant as the closest you can get to Miami Cuban food, and BOY was she right. My parents and I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, which has a bright, energetic feeling. That was only heightened by the live music performed by a remarkably talented girl, who sang, played the flute and even played drums. We were so excited to try some of our favorite dishes we had sampled in Miami, so we may have gone a little overboard...the good thing is, the food reheats remarkably well, so it's a good idea to take the leftovers home. We started with croquettes, empanadas and yucca. Toasted bread was served as a matter of course. The croquettes were meaty and had a satisfying depth, while the empanadas were massive and crammed with meat...a solid option. The yucca were good, but I prefer the non-fried versions. For my main course I ordered was Puerco Asado, while my parents both ordered the Bistec Encebollado. My dish, the roasted pork was divine, full of garlicky flavor and paired with plantains, rice and beans. The bistec was pan seared crispy, and the sauteed onions were amazing. We finished the incredibly filling meal with some flan and cafe cubano. The flan was...ok, and honestly the ONLY part of the meal that was a let down. The cafe cubano was on point. Been to Miami and enjoyed great Cuban food? Then come here! See my ending comment! What a gem we found! This establishment has delicious and authentic Cuban food! Service was great, our mojitos were great, the complimentary buttered toasted bread was amazingly great with a crispy exterior and a nice soft chew in the center. Yum, yum and YUM! It wasn't very busy when we're got there at 8 p.m. but shortly after customers flowed in. It will get a little loud in there, there are no acoustic panels to absorb the noise so be prepared. We sat at a table in the bar and were comfortable. The environment is casual. Our server was kind. She smiled and was helpful. She's understood the menu and the ingredients that went into the dishes which was appreciated. Mr. G had the Bistec Uriguayo and said it was really good. It was crispy with the perfectly cooked center - steak, ham and cheese. I don't eat meat so I can't vouch for how tasty it was, but when Mr. G finishes his plate, the chef did something right! I ordered the Enchilados de Camarones - WOW! I didn't expect to have such perfectly cooked shrimp. They tasted very fresh, had a nice snap with every bite and were not chewy or tough at all. Not even seafood restaurants I've been to lately have executed such perfection! The tomato based red sauce the shrimp is sauteed in is extremely tasty - a little garlic, just enough salt and a nice spice to it. Nicely done y'all! Both dishes came with a generous portion of white rice and black beans. I love rice and their long grain hit the spot! The black beans have pork in them so I sub'd my beans out for veggies which I won't do again. Some carrots and squash tasted watery which leads me to believe they were frozen. This is why 4 stars. Why go through the great lengths of serving great entrees and skimp on fresh veggies? With all that good stuff said and going back to what I started with, if you've been to Miami, South Beach specifically, THEY SERVE COLADAS!! Y'all as excited as I am about this? Now, I didn't order one because it was too late, but I'll be back ASAP to get my little hands on a cup and I'll report back if they are worthy. For those of you who enjoy espresso but have not had the privilege of a morning jolt of a sweet serving of espresso called a Colada, you just gotta! This is not Cuban food. The service was not bad but this is not Cuban flavor at all. It tasted more like Mexican food.

We found this little gem in the southern part of Carrollton. We love good Cuban food, but we had tried some other Cuban places but weren't impressed for one reason or another, This place has it all, but from the outside, you might not think so. Inside, great atmosphere, including a bar to sit at, which is our preference, music, great staff, and excellent food. We ordered roasted pork and ropa vieja, super delicious. ~ Manager Ireles and Carlos our waiter were so attentive and wonderful. We are coming back very soon for sure! read more

Recently Visited Caribbean Cuba on a Saturday evening in January, with a mixed party of friends and young teenage kids ! 1. Food - I tried an appetizer (potato pie) and Ropa Veja for main course. The table ordered a diversity of dishes. Everyone was complementary of their meals. 2. Service- the lady waiting our table was patient and cordial the entire time and managed the multi check request. 3. Location - small interior, but had an enjoyable atmosphere. A friend brought me carry-out from this place and OMG! It took me back to my visit to Cuba. The papas, croquetas and empanada were a perfect crunch, but fresh on the inside. There was more than enough congri (rice and black beans) for the bistec and sides. I hear the owner is a very sweet lady...now I definitely want to visit this spot! Adorable little place tucked in by Beltline. Had the shrimp with garlic sauce and sautéed vegetables. It had the right amount of butter and not overpowering. Garlic and lemon flavors were well-balanced and the shrimp tasted fresh. I do agree $19 for this entree in a hole in the wall seems pricey so I would return for the lunch menu to try other things. In a nut shell: I would give this place my money again. Caribbean Cuba has a pretty great selection. It is a small cozy place that would be a good date night spot. The staff was friendly and the meal got to me quick. I ordered the shredded beef, beans and rice and it came with plantains (I chose fried). I'm not a huge plantain person but these were actually really great. The shredded beef had strips of al dente bell pepper that worked really well with the texture of the beef. We ordered the plantains& yucca for appetizers and they did not disappoint. Portions were pretty big as well. It does take a while for your food to come out so I would recommend ordering an appetizer. I ordered the Cuban sandwich but substituted the pork for the beef. The cheese was nicely melted onto the buns and overall was very delicious. The sandwich is pretty big, I could have split that with someone. I also tried their picadillo and that was amazing!! The beef and potatoes were cooked to perfection & it was full of flavor. I will definitely order that the next time I go. I also look forward to trying the coffee, it smelled amazing. The decor & atmosphere is very nice, not large or too small. Play Latin music in the background. Our first visit here referred by a co worker. Food was ok for what l ordered it can add a little more flavor to the food, to our surprise they charge extra for red beans if you don't care for the black beans which was a little disappointed that they did not add onions to eat. It's absolutely unacceptable to serve paying customers old chicken that's been sitting around for days! The last two times I ordered, far apart from each other, I think it was a Sunday and a Monday, like a couple months apart, (I was hoping it was just a one off and wouldn't happen again and actually I forgot how bad and old it was the last time I ordered), but I was served nasty super old chicken that was so disgusting tasting that I could not eat it & I didn't bother requesting a refund tho cause dealing with dd is so much drama really, so stopped using dd and am back to Uber eats. You cannot serve customers OLD NASTY CHICKEN that is drying out on the outside so it's hard and old.. super obvious it was many days old, that's how you LOSE CUSTOMERS! And the fact that you did this twice to me is beyond insulting and doesnt follow basic food safety laws either! You can't serve people OLD CHICKEN! Why would anyone pay for that? It's not even legal to serve days old chicken! There are food safety laws here! I'm so insulted and the chicken was so nasty that I threw both out and I didn't bother even trying to get my money back cause I just didn't wanna deal with dd drama. People will only pay money for FRESH FOOD, NOT SUPER STALE OLD NASTY FOOD that could give them food poisoning. I have no doubt that the chicken BOTH times was days old, who knows just how old but for it to be so old that its obvious just looking at it, is super disturbing and the taste was just awful and nasty. I've never been served days old chicken before by any restaurant ever.. because it's illegal and that's how you lose customers and destroy your reputation, which is what has happened here. I had a bunch of things going on at the time so didn't get around to writing a review when it happened, but I was reminded when I ordered from a Trinidadian restaurant that served me chicken that was dry and not cleaned properly and tasted like it's likely from yesterday so I called them out too. But that doesn't even compare to how nasty and old the chicken I was served here was... twice! Like it must have been 3 or 4 days old. Even a day old is unacceptable and doesn't meet food safety requirements required by law. You cannot do this to people and I'm considering reporting you to the appropriate agencies. It's unforgivable. You've absolutely 100% lost my business because of it. There's just no excuse for doing this EVER! read more

We went to Caribbean Cuba based on the Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. I ordered a mojito which was very good. For dinner, my date had Ropa Vieja (translated is "Old Clothes") and I had Picadillo which is a very good ground beef and other ingredients entree. Both were very good and a lot of food was delivered. The service was prompt and the waitress checked back frequently. Her English wasn't the best, but we were able to order what we wanted. We both took home heavy to-go boxes. I guess if there was a slight downside, it might of been the noise coming from the bar. As the customers had more to drink, the louder it go inside. With a tile floor and wooden ceiling, there wasn't much to dampen the noise, but it was a minor annoyance. I love good Cuban food and will certainly go back if in the area. read more

Absolutely love this place!! This is my 3rd time here in 2 months. The food is amazing very authentic and the staff is fantastic. Sunday lunchtime is busy, because the place is small, but easily can accommodate a larger group. A slice of home in my backyard!! The only reason I'm not giving a fifth star, is that the smoking patio outside is right next to the front door. So 1 if there's someone smoking you have to past right through the smoke & 2, even worse than the first when they open the door to take the food outside all that smoke comes into the restaurant and lingers. read more

This review should have been written two weeks ago, which, in Internet time, is about 11 years. It's kind of like how Peter Sellers was in "A Shot in the Dark" but then didn't play Inspector Clouseau again until "The Return of the Pink Panther" more than a decade later. And now that I have completely gone off the rails and compared my lack of writing skills to a series of films involving a bumbling detective and a diamond (not to mention a cartoon feline), I should probably talk about Caribbean Cuba. Suffice it to say the place is amazing, and really should have been written up sooner by me. My friend and I happened upon this place one Saturday for lunch around noon. He had been before for a dinner, but this was to be the first lunch either of us would have at the tiny place sitting in the corner of the strip mall. We parked in the lot out back, where you can just see the faded lines of what used to be spaces if the sunlight is right, you squint your eyes at the right angle and Mercury is cooperating with your horoscope. After making our way inside, I noticed the restaurant is sort of split in two. You walk in from the outside where a couple of tables and chairs sit, and then find yourself in a small waiting area opening into a bar and then another dining room. The bar was a surprisingly large size, and the dining room we sat in has an awesome mural running the length of the wall that gives the place style to burn. A few tables were taken with families and friends, and we made ourselves at home at a table pretty close to the middle of the floor. The hostess who seated us was as charming as could be, and our waitress, Claudia, was even more welcoming. She recognized my friend, he recognized her, and I pretended to recognize the dog being walked by some random dude across the street through the window. Nonetheless Claudia made us both feel welcomed with her attentive service and outgoing personality. In fact, she had a good portion of the dining room this afternoon, and she kept every guest satisfied and stuffed with delicious food. We started with a half order of the plantain chips, and I'm going to say right now if there is ever a competitive eating event for these things, everyone can go home and the trophy can just be mailed to me. I'm not sure how many of these I ate, but I know I stopped myself twice because I feared I would not have room for our entrees. And a half order is huge! I'm assuming a full order is enough to feed a small country, or me if I skip breakfast. For our main course, we split the churrasco and fried pork. The fried pork was sinfully tasty, and while the rice and tomato and other sides were wonderful, I filled up on them too quick to enjoy all the pork goodness! But that churrasco with the chimichurri sauce was on a whole other level. I'm sure there are other equally impressive dishes on the menu, but I have to confess... I'm going to be challenged coming here again and not ordering anything but that churrasco. It was that delicious. By the time the Cuban coffee came around, I was wondering where this place had been all my life. Part of that was the food talking as it wrestled with my consciousness, and part of that was the coffee alerting me to the fact that I needed to remain among the living. You've probably driven by this place dozens of times, and even if you knew of it, you may not have given it a second thought. Folks, let me assure you Caribbean Cuba is worthy of your time. There may only be a handful of reviews for this place at the time I write this, but don't let that stop you from enjoying what is destined to be one of the best meals you never knew you needed. read more

My wife and I visited the restaurant today. The service was pleasant and attentive. We ordered a Cuban sandwich so we thought and a beef sandwich ( pan con bistec). The two sandwiches were very disappointing. Not even close to what they are suppose to be. The Cuban sandwich was nothing like Latin America, Versailles or La Carreta from Miami. There was barely any ham, the cheese was more like cheese sauce and the pork was tow pieces. The bread was soggy and not toasted. The pan con bistec was so thin my wife couldn't taste the steak. This place does not represent a Cuban restaurant. If they are they need to improve their products and processes. The waitress was nice friendly. The kitchen was terrible. read more

Good little Rest. Had Croquetas as appetizer, tasty and creamy. For lunch we had Ropa Vieja and Bistec Encebollado, both tasty and well seasoned. As dessert we had flan, it was ok. Overall very pleased, we will be back. read more
