    Tour of Jamaica
    Heather H.

We really wanted to love this spot, but the food was just okay. We ordered the Oxtail Patty and the Tour of Jamaica, which came with curry goat, braised oxtails, jerk chicken, festivals, steamed cabbage, and rice. It comes with a single kind of rice, but there was a mixup and we received both the Jamaican rice and peas and Haitian black rice. Everything looked good when it came out, but the food was not hot and the flavors didn't quite hit. The meats were tender, but they lacked that rich, bold seasoning Jamaican food is known for. Even the sides tasted a bit tired, like they weren't super fresh. I must say, the oxtail patty was delicious but was not as filled as a previous visit. Overall, not terrible -- just missing that freshness and punch that makes Caribbean food so good. I probably wouldn't rush back, but I hope they can kick up the flavor because the menu itself has a lot of potential.

Easily one of McKinney's best spots for bold, authentic flavor. The curry chicken is insanely good, tender, well-seasoned, and full of rich, comforting spice. Rice and peas are on point, and the plantains? Perfectly crispy and sweet. The jerk chicken brings real heat and smoky depth, and if you can't decide, get the Tour of Jamaica to try a little of everything, including the oxtails. Big portions, great value, and everything tastes made with love. The vibe is chill and colorful, with reggae playing and super friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Service is laid-back but attentive, and they're happy to guide you if it's your first time. You gotta try all the meat pies!!!!! the beverages are fizzy and fantastic and great for digestion, lol. Great prices, amazing food, and a place you'll definitely want to come back to. Reggae Jerk Hut is the real deal.

We came in around 3 PM on a Sunday--place was about half full, and there seemed to be plenty of staff. The food? Absolutely outstanding--easily five stars for flavor, seasoning, and presentation. Every bite was worth the wait... but **wow**, the wait. Unfortunately, the service was painfully slow. It took a full hour for our food to come out after we ordered, and no one acknowledged the delay or checked in to explain what was happening. I will probably try take out next time, but hope they work on the service side. A little communication would go a long way.

3.75 I think it's a small family run business, so it's not many people working though they manage to put out good food. It took a minute to get seated and flatware. It also took a while for food and drinks. I had the curry goat with rice and peas and cabbage. The goat was so good. And very tender. I do thin the rice and peas are a little bland. My daughter had the Rasta pasta with chicken. She said it was good and a little spicy. My husband got the escovitch which he really enjoyed. We also had curry chicken patties that were really. Everything comes out piping hot hence the wait time.

I was craving curry chicken and didn't want to make it. This place popped up close to me. I placed an order for pick up. (You have to pay over the phone). When I got there, there was music playing and a few patrons there. I sat at the bar until my order was ready. The restaurant itself is decorated in Jamaican colors and Bob Marley mural. The curry chicken was excellent. Very flavorful, fell of the bone. I will def order again.

Absolutely awful experience from start to finish. First off, they slap on an automatic gratuity no matter the party size, which would maybe be tolerable if the service wasn't straight-up rude. Then there's the food--or lack of it. We waited over 45 minutes for our meal, with zero updates, zero apologies, and zero urgency. Watching staff casually walk around while we sat there starving was infuriating. When the food finally arrived, it wasn't even worth the wait. So let me get this straight: forced tip, bad attitude, ridiculous wait times, and mediocre food? Hard pass. There are way too many restaurants out there to waste your time and money on one that clearly doesn't care about its customers. I won't be back, and I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone.

Recently went here for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived at 12:30 and were promptly seated. It wasn't crowded but the music was a little loud. The ambiance/decor of the restaurant is nice and our server for the day was very sweet. Now on to food and drinks. We all had the rum punch because let's face it, what's a good Caribbean restaurant if they don't make a good rum punch? Luckily they did not disappoint. I can only speak on my meal and it was delicious. I went with the Mac & Cheese Oxtail Skillet and it was DELICIOUS! Like so good I ordered a second portion to take home for dinner that night. I'm not sure about the other dishes but this dish alone will make me go back. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the automatic gratuity our server placed on our ticket without notifying us. Apparently 3 moms and 3 kids (all under 3) count as a part of 6? I get it, technically yes there were six of us but 1 of the kids at the table was a baby and not old enough to eat any of the food there. Just feel this could have been mentioned if it was required. Other than that, definitely worth a try if you want Caribbean food on the north side of town.

They have a saying on almost all islands I've ever been to, if you want fast service- you are on the wrong island! Lol I shared jerk chicken plate, plantains and a beef patty with my gf. The plantains were not as ripe and carmelized as I like, but they were still good! The jerk chicken was nicely spiced. The beef patty was delicious and flaky! Will be back!

Checked out brunch and overall it was ok. It's not my favorite here. However, wanted to check out other menu items. BRUNCH Food was good, not great. However still enjoyable. I like dinner and those dishes better. Mimosas were good! Service was ok. I have had better there. Ambiance is always good and chill. Still think they the food is tasty here. I recommend oxtails, curry chicken, cabbage and the PASTA. Brunch was 3.5 for me. Worth checking out for something different.

Based on my visit here for three beef patties, kids Mac and cheese, and bread pudding, I give this place 4/5 stars, and that's only because the bread pudding wasn't the greatest (the rum oversaturated the flavor and made it soggy). Although our first trip here didn't involve trying many things, my family and I enjoyed all the "likkle bites" we had. We'll definitely be back and try more menu items. Also, the customer service was good. The young gentleman at the front was very friendly and the staff was pleasant.

I was trying to save room for the main course, but there was something so delicious about those unassuming little bites. They were warm, slightly crisp, and completely addictive. We came specifically for the lunch specials, and they did not disappoint. I had my eye on the Piccadilly, a flavorful mix of ground meat with spices, potatoes, and what I believe were raisins and olives. It comes with white rice and black beans, but you can have them mixed together, which is absolutely the way to go. The combination of savory and slightly sweet flavors was fantastic. My only small wish is that it came with a few more sweet plantains on the side. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, which comes with a side. We chose fries and iced tea, and they generously brought us BOTH large iced teas. The sandwich itself was huge, easily big enough to take half home. It was perfectly grilled, warm, and melty. If I could change one thing, it would be to make the bread a bit smaller while keeping all that delicious filling. This place is also a great value. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out.

LET'S GET RIGHT INTO IT; We ordered the Pineapple Juice - (8/10) : The juice was good Hisbicus Tea - (4/10) : The tea was made with cane sugar; that defeated the purpose of a healthy and delicious tea. I really wanted it to be made with agave or date syrup.
