You don't have to fly to Havana and bypass the Office of Foreign Assets Control to sample the many tastes of Cuba. Quite honestly, you don't have to go much farther than Miami; however, since the Cuban community is comparatively smaller in Dallas, this place is worth a visit. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with a taste for beans and rice and a something to satisfy my caffeine fix. I walked in and was greeted by a lovely staff member who happily seated me at a small table. The interior is brightly colored and sets a lively tone, with pictures adorning the walls. The menu offers a variety of dishes ranging from chicken, beef, pork, seafood, sandwiches, and classic favorites a la Ropa Vieja. After carefully evaluating the selections, I opted for a cafe con leche and a side a frijoles negros (black beans) and arroz moro. The coffee was creamy and delectably sweet, with just the right pull of espresso. The beans and rice paired exceptionally well and were savory and filling. I enjoyed my meal and felt that the service, prices, and quality were all excellent. I will definitely return whenever I find myself in Dallas again!

The food was amazing as shown in my photos. I couldn't wait to take a few bites. Then I realized I didn't take a photo. The puerco frito ( fried pork) was juicy, flavorful, and unctuous. The papa rellena (stuffed potato) was a little bigger than I expected. The service was great but the kitchen was lagging a bit. Typical Cuban mid level ambiance. No decor so to speak but very "authentic".

Their chicken sandwich WAS SOOOOOOO GOOD for no reason. We had that and the carribean sandwhich as well and it was equally delicious! Did a to go, none of the ladies spoke English but my order was correct and I had zero issues!

Arroz con Puerco, delish and worth the wait!

Back to try the Cuban sandwich and some favorites. Cuban was tasty, the empanadas are the best, and Arron con pollo is enough for 3-4 to share with some apps on the side. Son tried the Cuban coffee, loved it. Worth the drive.

This place was just ok in my book. The food had good flavor, I just am not a fan of crock pot meat texture. I also am not a fan of my bananas being in the red sauce on the plate. I asked for water no ice, I got ice water- no big deal. The people were friendly and the place looked clean in the dining room. For me it was a bit on the pricey side, I think this meal was like $18.99.

Do not sleep on this place! This is not only super affordable but the food always tastes homemade and delish. My go to is always the Cuban sandwich! Yummy.

This small hole in the wall establishment is pleasant and has good food. We ordered the beef empanada which was meaty and packed with flavor. They also give complimentary bread which is tasty. My guy had the Cuban sandwich he ate every bit of it. I had the fried pork with garlic yuca and it was fantastic. The service was sweet and laid back. I will return.

Some items on drink menu were not available. Have been wanting to try this place for a long time. We had Ropa Vieja and it was delicious. It consisted of shredded beef that was served with rice, black beans and fried plantain.

I'm from Florida originally so Cuban food and especially mojitos have a high bar for me. I am so excited that my new home is less than two miles from this gem! It's been here for 20 years and I know why!! Best mojitos in Addison/carrollton period. The chicken and rice is worth the 30 min wait, I promise! Plus you watch them muddle the beautiful mint with sugar the traditional way. It's amazing in every way. 500 stars to this local gem.

I love coming to this authentic Cuban spot! The service is fantastic and make you feel welcome, even if you don't know much Spanish at all or know English. That's important to feel warm welcome. The food is amazing, & fresh! I enjoy majority of the dishes. The place all together has great music, people are friendly, food is yummy, and drinks are awesome! I love coming here as much I can and enjoy it.

The grilled toast is a part of the sampler. It is light and had the perfect amount of seasoning.

We had a phenomenal experience here! The food is flavorful and authentic. The service was quick and they are all friendly. The restaurant is a hidden gem! There's a small bar as well. We will definitely go back.

I really enjoyed this wall they had by the restroom, with things about Cuba.

Fair warning, it definitely brings the heat! It's on the spicy side, but in the best way possible. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere adds to the whole experience. There was lively music playing, colorful decor throughout, and a beautiful Jamaican beach mural that makes you feel like you've stepped out of Texas for a minute. And of course, you'll spot Bob Marley on the walls, which just feels right. My server mentioned they've been around for about 15 years, and you can tell--it's a solid, well-loved local spot. Great food, fun vibe, and a place I'll definitely be coming back to.

When we walked in, it was only people of color, so that indicator probably meant that i was in for a good authentic meal. The interior had multiple tables spreads around and on the right side of the building it was where the people were taking orders and preparing the food to take to your table. We ended up getting coco bread, chicken stew and half jerk chicken with fries. The stew came with two side dishes, so we ended up getting rice&peas and collar greens. The jerk chicken only came with fries but it was only 13 bucks. you do have the option to get jerk chicken with two sides, but that would have been 19 dollars. The coco bread was really fully and if you dip it into the stew chicken, it takes it to another level. Both dishes were excellent and the kick on the jerk chicken was spicy but not too bad where you couldn't enjoy it. Service was great, and they were friendly. Located right behind the McDonalds. All in all, i'll come back if i'm in the area.

Trinilicious is Trinidad style cuisine which was my first time trying it. Sintra, who is also the owner, was working the lunch counter and was happy to point out what each dish was on the counter ready to serve. We ordered the curry goat and got rice and beans as the two sides amongst many other side options. This was probably the best thing we ordered as the goat was falling off the bone tender and the curry was not greasy or oily and complemented the goat perfectly. We also ordered the bake and salted fish which is salt fish inside a pocket sandwich that's almost like a pita bread but it was way more fluffy and buttery than pita. I love salted fish and this really hit the spot. I also ordered the doubles watch was a chickpea curry inside roti I think. It was so flavorful and Sintra recommended the spices to add to it based on my answers to a few questions about my spice preferences. For drinks we ordered Mauby tea and the beetroot with carrot juice. Mauby was explained to me as a type of tea from the bark of a tree amongst other spices. It was sweet but not overly sweet and I tasted fennel/anise which I love because it gives a licorice taste to it. Beetroot with carrot juice was also blended with other spices but was very fiber heavy from the carrot so it was close to a smoothie texture or blended veggie shake, however it was sweet and maybe had coconut milk in it or some regular milk. We preferred the Mauby. I can't wait to try other things on the menu. There was a fancy looking Mac n cheese and curried potatoes that looked amazing. There's also a couple more milky tea drinks and a hibiscus style tea to try. A few tips before you get there. Keep in mind it is a small restaurant and would probably be difficult to bring a group larger than 4 because of limited seating but they can probably combine tables if you call ahead. Parking situation is easiest to just park in the back as the front was packed with the neighbor's business customers as well .

Worth the flight from NY to San Antonio then the 4.5 hour drive from San Antonio there! And yes! The reason for the trip WAS RJH! My friend and I went in Monday around 6:30pm. We were greeted immediately as we walked in and given the option of seating. It was pretty empty with the exception of one other person at the bar and some people coming in for takeout. It's a really big place and it's beautiful in here. LOVE the big Bob Marley/Jamaican flag mural in the back that's also visible from outside. The service was really good. Everything came out quickly and was hot and fresh! We also chatted it up with the owner Adrian who is amazing! Drinks: we went with the rum punch and stuck with it. We had 3-4 rounds and it def punched us at the end of the night! Lol it's the perfect balance of strong and tasty. Food: we started with the Escovitch and RJH Honey BBQ Jerk wings. The Escovitch was soo bomb! I'm not a fan of BBQ sauce but I did try those and will say it was a good balance and the BBQ sauce wasn't overpowering. For entrees we had the "tour of Jamaica" and the Escovitch whole red snapper. The tour of Jamaica is a great idea because it allows you to sample the oxtail, curry goat, and jerk chicken without having to purchase 3 different meals. It's also served with white rice or rice and peas, festival, and steamed cabbage. The oxtails were the star of the tour! It was perfectly seasoned and tender, and came right off the bone! The goat was really good too. I didn't try the jerk chicken. The snapper was my entree and the only thing that was left on my plate were the bones and the lime garnish! It was soo good! I ate the head and everything else! We fully enjoyed our food and dining experience. I will definitely be back and would definitely recommend RJH for any occasion. There is also a display case full of beautiful baked treats made by Rita. After sandwiches at that level, there was no way we were leaving without dessert. We took three to go: a meringue filled with dulce de leche, which was a total sleeper hit, a guava and cheese pastry, and a dulce Napoleon. Every bite felt special.
