Walking into Fireside Caribbean Restaurant is like stepping straight into the islands, vibrant, warm, and full of good vibes. The ambiance immediately sets the tone with island music flowing and a laid-back, tropical feel that makes you want to stay a while. Now let's talk about the food, it was wow! I had the oxtail plate today, and it was amazing. The flavors were rich, and delicious. Everything was fresh and served hot, with just the right amount of spice to wake up your taste buds. The entire menu is stacked with goodness from jerk, curry, roti and more. The Fireside fresh juices are a must-try. Seriously, they're fire, I can still taste the ginger. Whether you're dining in at a high top or taking your food to go, you're in for a treat. The staff is friendly, the service is pleasant, and the whole experience feels like a mini tropical escape. If you're in the Port Wentworth area and craving bold, authentic Caribbean flavor, Fireside is it. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

Food was great, we had the Oxtails plate rice and vegetables and the fried shrimp and fries amazing and a beef patty. The service was fast, professional and friendly and they helped us through the menu since we never eaten Caribbean cuisine before. The atmosphere was friendly quiet with good music playing, some seating but mostly take out. Also, my wife had a dizzy spell while ordering and the staff quickly got her a chair before she also fell down. I am very pleased with this restaurant and we will return again soon.

Best Jamaican and Caribbean food in the area. A very diverse menu. From the oxtail and jerk chicken, to the Mac n cheese and potato salad;even the plantains. The food is never disappointing! Service is always fast and amazing. The staff is very friendly and hospitality. A true and warm, Caribbean atmosphere every visit.

Good Caribbean style food. The large Jerk chicken is huge, so you may get a small unless your appetite is large.

Rain has a way of making you hungrier for the right kind of food. We walked into Georgia Comfort…read moreKitchen off I-95 on one of those gray, damp Georgia afternoons, and from the first bowl of gumbo, the weather outside stopped mattering entirely. We ordered off the menu rather than the buffet -- though both were available and the buffet looked well-stocked and genuinely tempting. My husband had the Shrimp & Grits: Georgia shrimp over stone-ground grits with andouille sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, and a sherry cream sauce. Rumor had it that was the move, and the rumor was right. The grits alone were the kind you don't stop talking about -- velvety, deeply seasoned, the kind of base that makes everything sitting on top of it taste better than it already is. I went with the fried catfish, a side of mac and cheese, and a bowl of gumbo. Honest take: the catfish itself was good -- the fish was fresh and well-flavored -- but the batter had gone a little soggy, which kept it from landing where it could have. That's the kind of thing that varies by timing, not kitchen quality. The mac and cheese, though, was exactly what you want: cheesy without being gluey, hot all the way through, properly indulgent. And the gumbo -- chicken and sausage, rich and built with patience -- was the best thing on my side of the table. On a rainy afternoon in coastal Georgia, it was exactly right. Then there was the cornbread, served with peach cobbler butter. That detail alone tells you something about how this kitchen thinks. It's not an afterthought. It completed everything around it. I'm not from the South, and I won't pretend to have a lifetime of comparison points. But there's a kind of food that makes you feel like you were born into it anyway -- like your body already knew what it was tasting. That's what happened here. Good for road trippers, families, rainy days, and anyone who needs a real meal after a long stretch of highway. Four stars, with the grits alone pulling hard toward four and a half.

For those of you who don't know they usually only have walleye during lent and when it's gone, it's gone. Big upgrade from cod so the choice was made. No cheese please. It came out screaming hot , plump, juicy and not greasy. But of course, it had cheese as did my partner's sandwich who also ask for no cheese. We chowed down anyway and it was still delicious. Do order a slice of lemon to season the fish with, it does need a touch of acid. Sometimes I think there is a conspiracy toward me and fast food places regarding cheese. I love cheese. I just don't like it with chicken and fish! These folks behind the counter weren't very friendly. The young lady who took our order heard walleye sandwich and stopped listening. I know that because her ticket did not say without cheese. So you can't blame the cooks. Get that Walleye soon before they run out'
