I really enjoyed trying this new Mexican-American restaurant in Carmel. Its a large building, so there was no wait, and service was great even as they got busier. They kept us stocked up on chips and salsa and drink refills, and were very helpful when ordering. Our food all came out quickly, which stopped us from filling up on chips. It was clean and not too loud, so my group was able to chat and have great conversation. I would go back!

HUGE portions for a great price. This is a nicer chain Mexican restaurant with a big bar inside and a tucked away outdoor patio space. The menu has dozens and dozens of options and combinations. The fajitas and burrito portions are gigantic - a meal for two. The service was super quick and our waiter was friendly. I'll be back!

Horrible service. Food was not good. I've ordered their corn on the past. It is usually corn on the cobb Mexican street corn. They gave me canned corn in a cup. Wasn't sweet. Tasted disgusting. Ordered what was supposed to be a boiled shrimp salad. It was more like frozen shrimp from a package that was thawed out not seasoned dumped on lettuce. Asked if I could change my order. They told me I would have to pay for 2 plates. Worse service recovery ever. I will not be wasting my money at this establishment. I do not recommend.

I had been looking forward to trying Don Rigo, and today I came here with a group of 7 friends for a late lunch, around 3:00 pm. It was my first time here, but several of my friends had dined here previously and they had recommended it highly. We were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately at a large table. Service was very good, our server had a great sense of humor and made our meal enjoyable. We were promptly served chips and salsa, and our drink order was taken. We all ordered different entrees, and everyone was very pleased with both the presentation and the taste. I had ordered a me with cheese enchilada and a bean burrito, served with rice and beans. My meal was flavorful and delicious. The beans had a nice texture and good flavor. The rice was just a little bland for my taste but I added some salsa and it was perfect. Our water glasses were refilled promptly and extra soft drinks were brought out at timely intervals. The dinning room was spacious, with seating well-arranged. Decor is attractive. We all agreed that we would definitely return soon.

We love Don Rigo! It's fast, casual, consistent & hits the spot. I recommend the fajitas Don Rigo, they can feed 2-3 or leftovers for lunch!! The fresh guacamole & house margarita are a must. I'm not sure how high I would rank it on the authenticity scale, but for a chain Mexican cuisine, Don Rigo is great!!

Chimichangas. Yuck. Soggy, lacking in everything, not deep fried, something perhaps out of a Mexican Chef Boyardi can. Que vergüenza!!!!

Valentines night date. Hot wife. Great life. We both were hankering for some Mexican food, or at least something that resembled TexMex. We've eaten at Don Rigo before with a decent level of "it's ok, not too bad and it's fairly close," as our reaction. It was ok enough to give a second try. Well, BIG MISTAKE! It started with a waiter that was slow. It took soooooo long to get his attention and when he did take our order, it took him 5 times to get it right. Then when he brought the drinks he brought one drink, only my wife's. Ten minutes later he brought me out a Sprite, which I did not order, because I'm allergic to drinks I do not like. Of course it then took him another 10 minutes to finally bring me my Diet Coke. And those were the only drinks we got. He was too lazy to bring refills even when asked. He was slow on the chips and salsa. Way slowish on the appetizers. And when the food came, the wife's order was correct but it was slopped together and mine of course was wrong. I ordered the "deep fried" chimichanga with an extra chimichanga on the side. What I got instead was two mini hotpocket chimis that were soggy soft, never fried, that had as much meat filling in them as a single Chef Boyardi Ravioli. On the gas light positive side of things, at least it was overly slathered in queso soup, ladled with runny refried bean "gravy" then garnished with wet watery lettuce with a paltry portion of pico, as an attempt to priss up the farm slop. And where was the rice you told me it came with? I guess Tío Ben (Uncle Ben) wasn't feeling "muy generoso". To be honest, disappointment isn't how I would even described my reaction. It was more "cabriado". "Pissed off" to the fact that once again a restaurant was putting "stuff" on a warm plate and expecting to be paid well for it. This wasn't food from the Mexican Yucatán. This food was a Ton-of-yuck not even close to real Mexican! .....but the decor was lovely, for a Indiana-Mex sports bar. So for a Diet Coke and a game, you won't be disappointed.

I tried this new beautiful Mexican restaurant. I ordered the lunch steak fajita for $10.99. They accommodated my takeout order -- such as rice instead of beans. I like that I did not have to pick out peas in their rice. I cannot wait until May to possibly eat with my friend outside when their back patio opens. Each of the five sections of various seating has at least one TV.

Pretty good Mexican restaurant in Carmel, IN with plenty of parking and seating. When you walk inside, it feels clean and welcoming.. but it isn't your traditional Mexican restaurant with a variety of colors and artwork. Styling is more traditional. In fact, there is a dear head in one of the dining rooms. Service was nice as was the food. If you're a fan of spicy food, definitely order the spicy sauce.

The building and inside are all real nice. TV's for the guys to catch up on sports. Well lit. My wife and I had the complimentary chips and salsa, with some additional queso. Chips are good, salsa was a little runny but the queso was in point. My wife ordered the steak/chicken/shrimp fajitas. Awesome portion size and she loved it. I ordered the enchiladas rancheros. The chicken was the best out of the 5 they give you. Beef was lacking in flavor. Service was on top of it. Didn't skip a beat the whole time.

    Rainbow above Don Rigo tonight.

I was wondering if the seating here would be communal since they only have 9 tables and room for 35 guests but I was pleasantly surprised that we were seated at our own table in a bit of a nook created by bookcases. My girlfriend and I had plans that day to go to the Peony Festival in town but it was cancelled due to weather. There were still many beautiful peonies in the restaurant itself and in many businesses around town. We were immediately seated by the hostess and our waiter, James, came to the table to tell us about the restaurant and that they would take our entire order and then course it out for us. I love this. Being a small restaurant it was a little noisy in there but we just spoke up a bit to talk to each other. We started with a couple cocktails, mine was Mr. Rumtastic and my friend had the Coming Up Roses. Both cocktails were well made and good. I found mine a bit thick on the palate, maybe because of the coconut milk? Still the flavors were well balanced and delicious. We started our meal with the Housemade Burrata, the bottom of the plate had a pistachio butter spread across it and there was mortadella on the plate, a puffy fried dough called gnocco fritto, and a balsamic honey along side. We were instructed to put it on our plate and mix it up and see how we like it paired together. What an excellent way to start our meal. We would definitely order this again. Next up for us was the Lamb Kafta Kebabs along with the Housemade Focaccia Bread. The lamb kebabs were ground lamb skewered and grilled served over a fresh fava bean puree finished with olive oil, sumac, ramp powder, and black cumin with some thinly sliced watermelon radish. The lamb was super tender and a perfect medium cook. The focaccia bread was a good addition to this as we slathered the homemade bread with the super soft whipped herb butter. Loved the rosemary baked into the bread as it gave it a woody, herby note without overpowering it. I almost ordered the Spring Salad but I asked James if it would be going overboard and he said what we ordered he thought would be the perfect amount of food so I will save that for another day. We ordered a second cocktail, mine was the Persephone's Elixir and my friend ordered the Peonies in the Park. We both enjoyed these cocktails more than we enjoyed the first cocktails we ordered. The egg white on mine made a little frothy creamy top and I loved the slight sweetness from the vanilla syrup and the pomegranate juice. I tried my friend's cocktail and it was so refreshing, it was peony infused vodka with rhubarb liqueur with a strawberry-rhubarb shrub. Next up for us was our main dish. I ordered the Spring Ravioli and my friend ordered the Persian Chicken. My ravioli was the best pasta dish I have had in quite some time. I usually don't eat an entire entree, I usually bring half home, this one though I ate every little bit, I would have licked the plate if I were not in a nice restaurant! Housemade ravioli with a filling of sweet peas, ricotta and percorino cheese bathed in a potato veloute' with sugar snap peas, pink peppercorns, chive oil and microgreens. I would order this again tomorrow if I were to go back tomorrow. My friend loved her chicken and her baked rice as well. So even after all these food, and it was a lot, we had to go for dessert. I ordered a cup of coffee with cream along with Crunch-Dipped Peanut Butter Pie and my friend ordered the Double Scoop of Housemade Peanut-Butter and Chocolate Gelato. We enjoyed these as well. We will definitely make another trip here as the service, food, and cocktails were right on point. Thanks so much to 9th Street Bistro and I hope you have many years of success.

We ordered: - Stoller Family Estate Pinot Noir - Geoff Davis: four roses old fashioned - Housemade Focaccia Bread with whipped herb butter - Agnolotti Pasta (vegetarian) - Savory Galette (vegetarian) We really enjoyed the meal. The focaccia is huge portion - definitely fit for 3-4 people rather than just 2! It was sooo soft and delicious. I also enjoyed the savory galette. It was a solid option but wish it had just a bit more of the curry flavor. Despite all the ingredients, it was just a bit underwhelming. I tried a bit of my partner's meal, the agnolotti pasta, and it was so good - infused with flavor. He really enjoyed it and raved about it! We're excited to come and try them again.

We sat at the bar and were very well taken care of by Christian, who provided excellent service from start to finish. I decided to order the empanadas, guac, and churros from the happy hour menu. Everything was $5/each. I went with the steak empanadas, cuz unfortunately you can't mix and match flavors. For me, the texture was a bit off. Christian noticed my hesitation right away and kindly offered to replace them. He brought out the chicken empanadas instead, and they were much better. Not phenomenal, but enjoyable. My classic margarita was refreshing... until the manager offered me a sample of the Carriage House margarita. Whew! Yaaaass! That was deliciously potent! Easily two drinks in one, so pace yourself. It has officially become my new go-to leaded bev when dining here. If paella is your thing, I'd absolutely recommend it. That's usually my standard order. But just a heads up... sometimes it can be a lil like my friend when my outfit is cuter than hers - salty! So, you may find yourself needing another margarita to help balance your palate. I will say that I've eaten here at least 3 times before and it's always been top notch. I will be back again. But I did not think it was spectacular last night. My table started by ordering several appetizers and salads. I split the beet salad with my friend. That was a mistake. This is hands down the best beet salad I've ever had. It is delicious. My friend doesn't like beets and loved the salad. It's not very big. I don't recommend splitting it. I'm not a fan of the shrimp corn dog but everyone else loved them. A friend ordered them for the table. Someone ordered the prime rib dumplings and said they were ok. They looked good but I didn't try one. They really enjoyed the bacon wrapped apricots. Another person liked the pesto goat cheese Mac n cheese. The deviled eggs were wasabi this time. The preparation is always different. The table didn't love this preparation as much as others in the past. I thought they were good. I had the Stanley meatloaf. I'm not a fan of the very large broccoli they plate. The meatloaf was very dense. I won't order it again. But I will note that it typically gets rave reviews. It's just not for me. My friend who got the beef short ribs wasn't excited about them. I had those last visit and they were excellent. I was hearing a lot of "ok" when people were asked how their entrees were. But everyone cleaned their plates, except me. I barely ate my meal and the server did ask if there was anything wrong. There wasn't anything wrong with the meal. I just didn't care for it. I boxed it up and brought it home. I will say that everyone really enjoyed the cocktails, appetizers and salads. Our entrees were fine but no one raved about theirs. We always eat at fine dining establishments when we go out. We loved Freeland's see my review for them. So we had high expectations here and left having had a good time together but the food kind of missed the mark. My bill came to $104 for two cocktails, a beet salad and meatloaf, incl 25% tip. I think when I go back I'll definitely get the beet salad again and stick to appetizers rather than an entree. My friends also ordered several desserts. They really liked all of them. The service was very good and the waitress handled our large party very well. It took a long time to get the food. There was a lot of time between our appetizers and the entrees. I think the kitchen was slammed. We were there for 3 hours. There is a 20% tip for tables of our size, but it was not automatically charged. There is no question Oakleys is a great place for fine dining. I recommend going there.
