The Caribou Coffee location across from the Morean Art Center is a stylish place with artwork that fits right into the art-centered block. We didn't have much time as we were supposed to experience a glass-blowing demonstration next door a few minutes after walking through the door. But my wife needed a refreshing drink, and it was hot outside as we walked around, so we made a quick pit stop. I enjoyed the peach shaker while my wife had an iced tea beverage, which was made fairly quickly by the friendly staff. Both were enjoyable as we chilled and sat on the comfortable chairs. The artwork was quite nice as we waited for and enjoyed our drinks.

Before they opened this location, I had never tried Caribou coffee. The service and the food is great! I particularly like the crafted press and Caribou is a daily routine for me now!

I met the owner of the shop today.

A clean, well-run coffee shop with friendly baristas, excellent coffees and reasonably priced pastries. Go there. You will not regret it.

Keep in mind that there is a 20% gratuity added to every check, regardless of party size! FOOD: Curry Mussels 10/10 -- My number one recommendation! The curry sauce isn't too heavy but still very flavorful, not to mention the bread portion is beyond generous. Tokyo Shrimp 9/10 -- Such plump shrimps! The batter isn't overdone and the sauce is amazinggg. It also came with a stuffed broccoli decorated in the middle of the plate on top of some fried rice. Butter Chicken 10/10 -- I cannot stop thinking about the naan. This entree was beyond my expectations. I have no notes, you must try it! Peruvian Chicken 7/10 -- The chicken could be more flavorful, was a tad lacking.

Firstly when the waiter brought out my plate, I noticed an item from my meal was missing. I asked him where my collard greens were and he says "you're right. Let me go get them." Once he brings the greens back and I taste them and they had zero flavor. Tasted straight out of a can. Secondly, when I cut into my chicken breast, the entire chicken breast slid out of the breading. Nice atmosphere so if I return it will only be for drinks.

The Wooden Rooster: Where My Morning Got Its Life Together Before I Did…read more Listen... I came here expecting "just a crepe." What I got was a full-on personality upgrade. First off--the vibe. Somehow it's better than Kraft (yeah I said it), but like... calmer, cooler, and not screaming at you before coffee. It's peaceful, shady, low-noise... the kind of place where you feel like you should start journaling or making better life decisions. Now let's talk food. I ordered The B.E.A.S.T. and I'm not exaggerating when I say this thing deserves its own documentary. Bacon. Pesto. Sun-dried tomatoes. Eggs. It was like every breakfast all-star showed up and said, "Let's absolutely dominate this guy's morning." Perfect balance. Crispy, creamy, savory... I took one bite and immediately forgave myself for everything I've ever done wrong. And honestly? This is a WAY better place to start your morning than the bagel place down the street. You know the one. We've all settled for it. We don't have to live like that anymore. Also--huge shoutout to the service. These people were so nice I almost asked if they wanted to come manage my personal life too. Fast, friendly, and somehow still chill. Bonus points for the menu because where else can you go from a Nutty Joe dessert crepe to a Cubano crepe to a PB&J throwback without anyone questioning your life choices? Final verdict: If you're in downtown St. Pete and not coming here, you're making your mornings unnecessarily harder than they need to be. Wooden Rooster didn't just feed me-- it emotionally supported me.

Future Christina, you should always get the seafood plateau, it is delicious and also you leave feeling not weighed down. We also split a small Caesar salad, which no longer comes with blue cheese, which is great, and that was enough food for both me and my husband. This time the seafood plateau came with muscles, oysters, fish spread, shrimp cocktail, and crab legs. It also has a ton of toasted bread for the fish spread. I ate the oysters and mussels, and my husband ate most of the shrimp and the crab legs. I love the fish spread so I'm glad it comes with that as well. The one con was it took an hour before we even ordered our food. That was crazy to me. Luckily we had accounted for a lot of time before our show at the Mahaffey, but if we didn't, that would've been exceptionally stressful. I do have to shout out that they're fresh pressed orange juice is absolutely delicious and well worth the eight dollar charge for a small glass (carafe is $14 so get the carafe instead). The grapefruit juice isn't cold pressed in house, but is cold pressed. It is less expensive at around five dollars, I don't think it is as good as the orange juice, but if you like grapefruit juice, it is pretty good. My husband got an old-fashioned and liked it. Overall, I still really enjoy this place, but if you're in a rush, you should probably tell your server so that way you get in and out quicker.

The place filled up quickly and service, despite our being one of two tables for half an hour, was spotty, although our server was polite and professional. Coffee and water weren't refilled...that type of thing. I wouldn't return for brunch. Not a huge selection for breakfast items, and the food was just adequate. All of our meals were cold. Eggs. Potatoes. Cold. This was our first time here, and I probably won't go back. Valet parking, but on busy days be prepared to wait as they service several restaurants. Otherwise, parking is on the street.
