Stopped by here for brunch around 9:30 on a rainy morning and honestly it was the perfect time to go because it wasn't busy at all. I got so caught up talking with everyone that I completely forgot to take pictures. I ordered the Southern biscuits and gravy which came with a sunny side up egg and breakfast potatoes. It was really good and definitely filled me up. One thing I noticed right away was how huge the menu is. There are so many options that I already know I'd have to come back to try something different. They also have a little market attached to the restaurant with baked goods and specialty coffee. We didn't end up getting anything from there but it looked really cute and I'd probably check it out next time. The whole place has a cozy, laid-back feel. It's right off the main road and you can even catch a little glimpse of the water while you're there which was a nice touch. Our server was super nice and patient with us and we never felt rushed. We made our lunch reservation months in advance through Resy and even received a text confirmation at 10:00 AM the morning of our reservation, confirming everything was set. We were visiting from out of town and had been looking forward to dining here based on its excellent reputation. Imagine our surprise when we arrived on time to find the restaurant completely closed. No notice. No explanation. No staff. We later learned they wouldn't be opening until 9:00 PM. As a business owner of more than 35 years, I understand that mistakes happen. But allowing customers to make reservations, sending same-day confirmations, and then being closed during the reserved time is the kind of operational breakdown that should never occur. I can't comment on the food or service because we never had the chance to experience either. Made this reservation in order to try a place we've never been before but had heard good things about. When we saw online them advertising a FIFA World Cup Final Game Watch party, we thought that would be a great opportunity. First, when we got there the hostess was busy chatting with friends. After finally taking them to the dining room, she took her time getting back to her stand, stopping to speak to a few people along the way. At this point we'd be standing there nearly 10 minutes & she didn't even acknowledge us until she got back. At that point the place was 2/3 empty, & she offered us bar, dining room or private dining seating. We initially took private dining room, but after we'd been sitting in there for about another 10 minutes, a gentleman came in & asked us were we sure that is where we wanted to sit. This seemed strange, but the way he said it made us think he didn't think it was a good choice for us. So we told him we would take a seat at the bar. By this time, it was starting to get busy & there were only 4 seats left at the bar. Wow. Those are the most uncomfortable bar stools I've ever sat in! They were not proprotionate to the bar. We actually loomed over the bar so far I just ended up having to stand. Added minus, no purse hooks for us ladies. The cocktail I got was great (a spicy margarita-type drink that I can't remember the name of). A little on the pricy side, but considering where this restaurant is located, we really didn't expect much else. I had been considering a Watermelon Sugar, because I love watermelon cocktails and this place seemed like somewhere that would make a good one, but when I asked the bartender how sweet it was he said it was one of their sweeter ones, so I decided on the other drink and appreciated the feedback he gave me. Considering why we chose this day, spurred on by their advertising, I expected a big celebration to be going on & there were a ton of other soccer fans in there for the same reason, & I was not the only one who had this complaint - our bar mates were not happy w/it either - but there was NO SOUND!! How do you advertise a World Cup party & then not have sound?! The 3 little TV screens & smallish projection screen just didn't cut it. We ended up leaving before the half, because of that or else we probably would have added another $50+ to our already $150 check if we had stayed. Their loss. We heard another big group of ladies complaining about it as we left. Both myself & the people next to us ended up pulling it up on our cell phones & turning our volume up, & that is the only reason we heard the little we did before we got home. On the plus side, I think we will probably go back because the ribeye steak w/red wine sauce I had was phenomenal, & the Crouque Monsieur my husband had was equally delicious. My "Steak Frittes" were nothing more than string fries. No different than at Burger King. Steak Frittes are typically large, wide fries that are a 'meatier' bite of potato, generally served with steaks. We had been going to wait & have a pizza during the 2nd half, even though we wouldn't have finished it, just because we wanted to try it. We ended up having to take the whole thing home since we left early, & even though it was advertised as 1/2-price for this gathering, we were charged full price. My husband didn't realize it until we were home & I saw the receipt. We should have recognized it before leaving, but honestly, if the server was paying better attention, it wouldn't have been rung up at full price to begin with. And all of this for a pizza, that when trying it when we got home, was actually the worst part of our meal. We got the double-pepperoni w/hot honey & jalapenos pizza, & perhaps it was the hot honey, or the ton of grease from the pepperonis, but it was a soggy, soggy mess. The only bad thing I can say about my steak is that the server said they were out of 8 oz, so I'd have to get a 10 oz. But if that was a 10 oz. steak, I'm a monkey's uncle because I've never finished even an entire 8 oz. steak no matter how good, in my entire life, but I ate every bite of this thing. There's a lot of complaining in this review, & it was honestly warranted, but regardless, we will still go back again (but not ever again for an 'event'), for normal dinner or perhaps Brunch, because I look forward to having another of those steaks! But next time I'll replace the french fries with a side salad. And I'll update my review and change my rating accordingly at that time. read more

I'm going to start this review by saying I quit going to Cassis from 2021 to now. Their happy hour wasn't great and their food was not worth the price. Now zip to 2026 and I decided to try their happy hour. I had the spicy pepperoni pizza and a martini. The pizza was amazing and enough for two people. The Martini was so special and chilled I had 2. The service was excellent and the bill was very reasonable. I'm using this as an excuse to revisit some other restaurants that I have given up on in the past. The only reason I'm making this four stars instead of five is because Service was super slow. Otherwise we had a great experience. Future Christina, you should always get the seafood plateau, it is delicious and also you leave feeling not weighed down. We also split a small Caesar salad, which no longer comes with blue cheese, which is great, and that was enough food for both me and my husband. This time the seafood plateau came with muscles, oysters, fish spread, shrimp cocktail, and crab legs. It also has a ton of toasted bread for the fish spread. I ate the oysters and mussels, and my husband ate most of the shrimp and the crab legs. I love the fish spread so I'm glad it comes with that as well. The one con was it took an hour before we even ordered our food. That was crazy to me. Luckily we had accounted for a lot of time before our show at the Mahaffey, but if we didn't, that would've been exceptionally stressful. I do have to shout out that they're fresh pressed orange juice is absolutely delicious and well worth the eight dollar charge for a small glass (carafe is $14 so get the carafe instead). The grapefruit juice isn't cold pressed in house, but is cold pressed. It is less expensive at around five dollars, I don't think it is as good as the orange juice, but if you like grapefruit juice, it is pretty good. My husband got an old-fashioned and liked it. Overall, I still really enjoy this place, but if you're in a rush, you should probably tell your server so that way you get in and out quicker. read more

The espresso martini seemed to be a popular cocktail for the evening and it came with honey roasted/glazed/ sugar/salted peanuts. The place filled up quickly and service, despite our being one of two tables for half an hour, was spotty, although our server was polite and professional. The mascarpone is sweet / dense & I love that only the lady finger cookie is only drenched in rum, not poured all over like most places. It's very moist & not dry. My sisters went to dinner here this weekend before going to a music performance. The food was excellent, the server was great and the outdoor seating was fun. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer. It was plenty to share. We each ordered the Roasted Beets Salad but we each had special requests for our salads. Mine was without onions. Another was with the onions and dressing on the side and the last one was with no cheese and no onions. They got all of them correct, which I thought was kind of impressive. The only thing I will say is there was food & a little trash on the ground that I stepped on when walking to the table and under our table. They just needed to sweep that out before seating us. I was invited to St Petersburg from Tampa Fl by my daughter , she suggested we go out to eat . Cassis is a casual place where you can dine in or dine out . I have been a big fan of Cassis and consistently tout their espresso martinis and mussels to anyone I come across. But during my last visit, I was disappointed on both counts. They have changed the menu and no longer offer the same mussels. Instead, they only offer a traditional white wine broth, and they were not willing or able to accommodate my request for their amazing Modelo dark beer broth version. Then came the espresso martini, which always comes with cocoa/sugar dusted peanuts as a sidecar. We decided to have brunch at Cassis recently. We didn't have a reservation and decided to sit at the bar. We started with mimosas, then ordered food. Two of us ordered burgers and fries, while the third ordered breakfast food. My friend had specific instructions for her burger (well done, condiments on the side), and when the burger arrived, it was all wrong. The server took it back to be recooked. Twenty minutes later, after the other two of us had completed our meals, her new burger & fries arrived. Everyone at the table couldn't believe this was actually hummus with some saying this by far the best they've ever had and others saying they've never had it before but it looked too good to ignore and they were glad they did! Calamari - worth getting! Dips were also yummy. Greasy but worth ordering Margherita pizza from happy hour - fantastic! Chewy and tasty. Fish and chips - OH. MY. LANTA! This thing was MASSIVE LOL! But tasty fish. And the potatoes were absolutely amazing! No one enjoyed the malt vinegar dip though. Not sure what they were thinking with this one. It had a sweetness to it which is not what you're thinking when you think of fish dip. Ask for ketchup instead. Salmon salad - given all the food the smaller portion was perfect size. And just a heads up that the salmon is "smoked" (not cooked). Enjoyed it though! Creamy and tasty. Overall this was a solid 4 star plus meal. Our server, Jorge, was beyond amazing however!! I love Cassis- I love the food so much. It's pricy, but it's right on Beach Drive so that's to be expected. I went for brunch with my friends and we decided to split the variety of pastries and each get our own main. I got the smoked salmon frittata which was phenomenal. The salmon was fresh and my eggs were divine. The pastries were the hit of teh table though. My personal favorite was the almond croissant. The muffin was the tallest muffin I've ever seen. The cinnamon roll was a huge hit for my friends as well as the cheese danish. Overall, we were all obsessed with the baked goods. Came in from out of town to see a friend. Heard great things about this place and honestly, the manager ruined the whole experience for us. My steak was overcooked and the manager, Herbert, acted like it was a complete inconvenience to fix this. I ordered rare and it came out medium well. I love sitting outside and people-watch along Beach Drive, and they also have small bistro tables closer to the restaurant that are great for soaking in the atmosphere. Reservations are highly recommended as it can get busy on the weekends. Our server was excellent, checking in often and offering great recommendations for both food and drinks. Cassis also has several favorites I keep coming back to. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich is tasty, but for my personal taste, it isn't quite spicy enough and not always as crispy as I'd like. The chicken can sometimes be a bit soggy, which affects the bun and can cause it to fall apart. I'm a big fan of their pizzas, which have a thin, crispy, crunchy crust. The portion served was visibly smaller than the advertised 6-ounce cut and was overcooked closer to medium-well. The steak was extremely chewy. I took two bites and left the remainder of the plate untouched. I raised the issue immediately. The manager on duty insisted the steak was 6 ounces and offered no replacement, adjustment, or meaningful attempt to correct the situation. Despite the plate being largely untouched, I was charged $36 for the entrée. After posting my review, I received voicemail messages from management. However, the communication lacked clarity regarding resolution. The focus appeared to be on gathering my "side of the story" rather than offering a structured solution or written follow-up. No direct proposal for remediation was clearly communicated. In hospitality, accountability and resolution are just as important as food quality. A professional written response outlining next steps, acknowledgment of the issue, and an appropriate corrective action would have reflected stronger leadership. Unfortunately, the handling of the situation after the fact was as disappointing as the initial experience. This photo shows the steak after I cut into it and took one bite. The rest of the plate was left untouched. The steak is advertised as 6 ounces but appeared noticeably smaller and was cooked medium-well instead of medium rare. It was chewy and overcooked. I raised the concern immediately. No replacement or adjustment was offered, and no one followed up about the untouched plate. Unfortunately, both the food and the handling of the issue fell short. This is the receipt from my visit. After raising concerns about the steak being overcooked and appearing under portioned, no adjustment was made and I was charged in full. Following my review, management called multiple times late in the evening, leaving unclear voicemails without outlining any specific resolution.
