The only reason I'm making this four stars instead of five is because Service was super slow. Otherwise we had a great experience. Future Christina, you should always get the seafood plateau, it is delicious and also you leave feeling not weighed down. We also split a small Caesar salad, which no longer comes with blue cheese, which is great, and that was enough food for both me and my husband. This time the seafood plateau came with muscles, oysters, fish spread, shrimp cocktail, and crab legs. It also has a ton of toasted bread for the fish spread. I ate the oysters and mussels, and my husband ate most of the shrimp and the crab legs. I love the fish spread so I'm glad it comes with that as well. The one con was it took an hour before we even ordered our food. That was crazy to me. Luckily we had accounted for a lot of time before our show at the Mahaffey, but if we didn't, that would've been exceptionally stressful. I do have to shout out that they're fresh pressed orange juice is absolutely delicious and well worth the eight dollar charge for a small glass (carafe is $14 so get the carafe instead). The grapefruit juice isn't cold pressed in house, but is cold pressed. It is less expensive at around five dollars, I don't think it is as good as the orange juice, but if you like grapefruit juice, it is pretty good. My husband got an old-fashioned and liked it. Overall, I still really enjoy this place, but if you're in a rush, you should probably tell your server so that way you get in and out quicker. read more

The place filled up quickly and service, despite our being one of two tables for half an hour, was spotty, although our server was polite and professional. I love Cassis- I love the food so much. It's pricy, but it's right on Beach Drive so that's to be expected. I went for brunch with my friends and we decided to split the variety of pastries and each get our own main. I got the smoked salmon frittata which was phenomenal. I have been a big fan of Cassis and consistently tout their espresso martinis and mussels to anyone I come across. But during my last visit, I was disappointed on both counts. They have changed the menu and no longer offer the same mussels. We decided to have brunch at Cassis recently. We didn't have a reservation and decided to sit at the bar. We started with mimosas, then ordered food. Two of us ordered burgers and fries, while the third ordered breakfast food. My husband went with one of his favorites, the pan-seared sea scallops, which never disappoints. We both started with a cup of the tomato bisque-hot, rich, creamy and the perfect way to begin the meal. Cassis is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, service and overall experience make it well worth the price. I love sitting outside and people-watch along Beach Drive, and they also have small bistro tables closer to the restaurant that are great for soaking in the atmosphere. Reservations are highly recommended as it can get busy on the weekends. Our server was excellent, checking in often and offering great recommendations for both food and drinks. Cassis also has several favorites I keep coming back to. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich is tasty, but for my personal taste, it isn't quite spicy enough and not always as crispy as I'd like. The chicken can sometimes be a bit soggy, which affects the bun and can cause it to fall apart. I'm a big fan of their pizzas, which have a thin, crispy, crunchy crust. Despite the plate being largely untouched, I was charged $36 for the entrée. After posting my review, I received voicemail messages from management. However, the communication lacked clarity regarding resolution. The focus appeared to be on gathering my "side of the story" rather than offering a structured solution or written follow-up. No direct proposal for remediation was clearly communicated. In hospitality, accountability and resolution are just as important as food quality. A professional written response outlining next steps, acknowledgment of the issue, and an appropriate corrective action would have reflected stronger leadership. Unfortunately, the handling of the situation after the fact was as disappointing as the initial experience. This photo shows the steak after I cut into it and took one bite. The rest of the plate was left untouched. The steak is advertised as 6 ounces but appeared noticeably smaller and was cooked medium-well instead of medium rare. It was chewy and overcooked. I raised the concern immediately. No replacement or adjustment was offered, and no one followed up about the untouched plate. Unfortunately, both the food and the handling of the issue fell short. This is the receipt from my visit. After raising concerns about the steak being overcooked and appearing under portioned, no adjustment was made and I was charged in full. Following my review, management called multiple times late in the evening, leaving unclear voicemails without outlining any specific resolution. I am so surprised by the low star rating Cassis has, because it is one of my absolute favorite places in St. Pete. Their burger is incredible - it's a must-have when I come here!
