A beautiful day in St Pete to sit out and enjoy brunch. Overall I'd say a 6/10 experience. The staff was fantastic. Friendly and helpful, but allowed us to sit and chat and didn't linger around forever or interrupt or convos. The pineapple mimosa was good and the sangria was delicious. The chicken & waffles was ok. 2 very large chicken breasts, the meal came out warm-ish. The butter was melted, so it likely sat under a heat lamp for a bit. The waffle was a bit rubbery and dry, and the batter did peel away from the chicken. The taste was just ok. A nice little brunch spot downtown though if you're looking for something different.

I've heard about Social Roost for brunch but lunch stole the show for me. I loved my meal and experience here! My waiter was so attentive and accommodating. The restaurant itself has sleek, modern decor with vibrant greens and golds and cool art choices. It's a viibe. As for the food, I was captivated by the flavors. The samosas were plump and puffy, light and incredibly flaky. The crispiness was so memorable. The ground chicken filling was so good and savory, earthy and spiced but not spicy. They come with two dipping sauces, also delicious, a thin zesty sauce and a chunky, semi-sweet yougurt sauce. The mussels come in a robust, bright, savory, herbaceous sauce. It truly shined! However, five mussels in the dish didn't open which was disappointing (and made the dish partially inedible) since that was a significant potion of the dish. My waiter did his best to compensate and I appreciate him and his service.

Social Roost is one of those places that just feels right the moment you walk in. It really captures the energy of downtown St. Petersburg without trying too hard. The atmosphere is lively and modern, but still comfortable enough that you can settle in and enjoy yourself. The space hits a nice balance, making it perfect whether you're grabbing dinner or just meeting friends for drinks. The food was flavorful and well prepared, and you can tell there's real attention to detail in both the presentation and taste. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling over the top, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. What really makes this spot stand out is the location and overall vibe. Being right in the heart of downtown St. Pete means you can step outside and immediately be part of the city's energy. It's a great stop during a night out or even just a laid back evening exploring downtown. Definitely somewhere I'd come back to again.

Honestly super nice outside seating. The service is amazing, the food just as good. They plate it perfectly and the taste was superb. I would come back and try the rest of the menu! Everything really good, stop by and try it.

I'm not one to order chicken and waffles but dang these were good! The chicken portion was so big and I was so pleased the chicken was juicy. The waffle was delicious on its own, with hints of cinnamon. Paired my brunch with a refreshing cocktail and couldn't complain. Our waiter was quick and efficient with a large party of 8. Everyone in my party loved their food and we would definitely come back. I enjoyed their fun decor on the walls. This place is small, but definitely a place I'd come back to.

We recently came here with friends for dinner, and Social Roost continues to impress. The food is consistently great, and I love the fun vibe-glittery walls, cool artwork and an energetic atmosphere. They offer indoor seating plus several outdoor tables. There are quite a few winners on the menu. The red snapper is one of my favorites, paired with coconut mango rice and finished with a coconut cream sauce that ties the dish together perfectly. It's also topped with a spicy pickled vegetables and Calabrian chili oil, which add a nice pop of flavor and balance to the dish. My husband usually orders the butter chicken. He enjoyed it, though the sauce could use a bit more seasoning. Their drink menu is also reasonably priced, which is a bonus. This place is always busy, so reservations are encouraged. On our last visit, service started off strong but slowed a bit after our server injured his finger and someone else has to step in. To their credit, they handled it professionally and treated our table to a round of drinks on the house to make up for the delay-much appreciated. Brunch here is also excellent. The apple-stuffed French toast is huge, loaded with apples and cream cheese and super satisfying. The buttermilk pancakes are another standout. I also really enjoy the Caesar salad with chicken-the lettuce is chopped into perfect bite-sized pieces, everything is well-tossed and it's topped with crunchy, large ciabatta bread croutons that add great texture and never get soggy. Prices are average for the area. It can get a little loud since it's popular and not overly large, and the bar area tends to draw a crowd. Overall, a fun spot with solid food and a lively atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Great spot in downtown St. Pete! It has a cool and funky decor inside, but we were visiting from the cold, white north, so we wanted to sit outside. We love sharing food so we can sample more of a menu and this menu was perfectly set up for that. We started with the chicken samosas and ricotta toast. Both were very unique and tasted great! We followed that with the mac & cheese and the chicken milanese. It was a unique twist on mac & cheese, but it was very good. Be warned - it's in the appetizer section, but it's a pretty sizable portion. The chicken Milanese was good, but it was a very thick chicken breast and we were expecting something different. Shout out to our server, Kiley - she did a great job and made our evening fun!

Today I had brunch here, and it did not disappoint. Matt welcomed me and told me I could sit anywhere, so I chose a cozy booth. I started with an adult beverage he made that was really good, then had the chicken and waffles along with a house salad dressed with lemon vinaigrette. and everything was delicious. The food, the service, and even the atmosphere all felt on point. The restrooms were clean and the space was well kept, which added to the comfort of the experience. It ended up being a really enjoyable midweek treat on a Wednesday.

Treated myself to a Mother's Day breakfast at this spot. I sat at the bar and had a delicious beverage and some pancakes. Exceptional service, beautiful decor.

I love this place! The food is so delicious and often has the most interesting combinations. Like the Mac and cheese has dates in it. Who would have thought of that?! But it's like a party in your mouth. So amazing. The butter chicken and pasta as well as the snapper are so delicious. I tasted all of my friends food. Haha The cocktails are delicious as well! The service is unmatched and everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. The decor is so cute and great for pics. Definitely recommend Social Roost.

    Standing Ovation

We wandered in off the street and were pleasantly surprised! We sat at the bar and were immediately acknowledged by our bartender Matt who is high energy brilliance in motion! Matts energy filled the room which was a blend of young and older clientele. I had the Standing Ovation which was rich and boozy in all the right ways (not too sweet). We started with the Curry Mussels which were fantastic! I went the Chicken Milanese which while good, missed the mark. It had a prefabricated flavor and left me wishing for a crispier breading. Overall a great experience that was budget friendly and exciting.

Social Roost hands down has the best chicken and waffles! Their brunch is always a win, and I genuinely love coming here. The vibe is fun, relaxed, and perfect for a weekend meal. Everything tastes fresh, the portions are solid, and the chicken is so good, crispy, flavorful, and just overall amazing. Definitely one of my favorite brunch spots!

We started with the dip trio (beet hummus, olive tapenade, and babaganoush with fluffy pita triangles), which was fantastic. Each dip had an awesome flavor, especially the beet hummus. We also got the tahini, date, and cashew salad and loved it. My husband isn't a salad guy and said he'd only have a bite, but then he ate half. The rich and spicy tahini mixed with the sweet date, creamy cashew, and fresh/crisp salad was such a great flavor combo. I will note, they go heavy with the tahini on the salad, but we weren't complaining. I got the zataar salmon for my main. A deliciously spiced zataar crust on top of a delicately flaky salmon made for a wonderful meal. My husband got the kafta en croute, which were ground lamb/beef meatballs surrounded by a flaky pastry and topped with pomegranate over a tahini sauce. I kept stealing bites (which was fine, there was plenty to share) it was so good and such a unique entrée! For drinks, they have uniquely spiced cocktails and mocktails. The drinks took longer to arrive than the food, but they were worth the wait. We were too stuffed for dessert, but next time we want to try their tiramisu (made with Turkish coffee and cardamom). We had a wonderful meal and will be back! The sad thing was that half the restaurant was empty. We think it's a unique addition to DTSP and is definitely worth checking out.
