I've been ordering here for at least 20 years. I've found that food is consistently good. Although I have heard horror stories about the food, I have been lucky enough not to have had experienced anything negative or disgusting, thank God. Sometimes I order over the phone, through GrubHub or just take a shot 5 minute drive to the restaurant and order takeout in person. One thing's for sure, no matter what time of day, they are ALWAYS busy and it can take a minute to place an order but NEVER have I been treated rudely or belligerently, you just have to to be patient. The food in my opinion is always delicious. I am a creature of habit and rarely order anything different. One thing is for certain, the chofan, Dominican fried rice, is absolutely divine, just like I would get when I lived in the Dominican Republic and equally as flavorful as my aunt makes it. So is their morir soñando, a drink mixture of orange juice and milk. It is my absolute favorite drink and always bings me back to my childhood. So in closing, this is one of my favorite Spanish restaurants and over the years I haven't noticed too much of a difference in food quality and service, other than in prices. Great resturant , 2nd time here and it was just as great as the first. Super clean, fast and friendly service, and they give you giant portions . More than enough to take home and have a second meal from it. I got penne alla vodka pasta the first time and then got pernil/ricebeans/maduros the second time . both were fresh and really good . The Drinks are strong. My one pina colada had me chatty . Honestly I have No complaints at all as far as the food and service But The ambience is so weird. they have these awful flashing lights outside that make the place look trashy. it kind of looks like a corner deli. I would be embarrassed to take a date here. Please get a proper awning.? and then inside they have these bright ass lunch room florescent lights that would make anyone look bad. Not a calming atmosphere. It's beautiful inside with updated decorations but they need to think about dimming the lights and adding some candles to the tables if they want it to be a NICE resturant. The menu is very ridiculous too. It's just endless text and overwhelming and again it just looks like a trashy deli menu. Not a nice resturant menu. I recently placed a takeout order but unfortunately, the experience was not satisfactory. The staff has a strict policy requiring customers to pay over the phone, before placing an order for takeout. which I understand may be in place due to past incidents of customers not picking up their orders. However, during my recent call, I was attempting to place an order while outside the restaurant in my vehicle. I was informed that I had to either pay over the phone or leave, which I found to be unreasonable and unaccommodating to a paying customer. So as most of you know, I am a finicky cat. This place was so amazing. The customer service... the greeting that we received when we walked in and sat down was just so nice. The food was to die for. I sniff all my food before I eat it and the aroma had me! The music was really nice not overwhelming. Of course I was too busy licking my paws after my meal to really be bothered with anything. We have been loyal customers to this place and it had seen like it's been one of those establishments where the food is really good but the customer service is super shitty. Not sure why but I always get a weird vibe coming from the servers whenever we come. But today, it was something that kind of pushed us over the edge. We had placed an order for pick up and my bf when inside to pick up our food. The guy was basically in such a bad mood where he had raised his voice when he was speaking to my bf. It almost made him want to walk out and not purchase anything from this restaurant ever again. I'm not sure what had made the guy so mean and rude that morning but seriously do not bring that type of negativity to your workplace. that could really ruin a business. This is my definite go to lunch or dinner spot and I don't want to cook at home. The food never disappoints always with flavor always warm and always satisfying. The ambience of this location is very busy at all times that I know of. They allow you to get the lunch menu throughout the entire day which is amazing I go get my lunch for about $10 and it is enough food for a dinner. The workers are always extremely friendly and work at a fast pace to try to get all the customers out. They do charge a 4% credit card fee which is something new in New York City for all card transactions but if you do pay cash you don't have to pay that fee so I always try to go with cash read more
