I have been coming to this barber shop FOR YEARS!! Not to blame the whole shop but this one individual nearly just ruined this whole shop for me. So disappointed in my barber today. I came in to get a touch up. Little on my neck and around my ears and a little off the top. Not the hardest thing in the world but somehow I sat in that chair for 38 minutes. I won't name who he is but he is brand new there and has 0 chance of lasting. If he wasn't on his phone he was either talking sports with another barber or trying to crack jokes. Not working on my hair. He spent MAYBE 10 minutes on my hair and that's being generous. My neck is barely shaved and there is still stray hairs around both of my ears. Which is exactly what I came in there for in the first place and at the end he had the balls to charge me 15 bucks and held his hand out for a tip like he did a gI'm honestly just seriously disappointed because I know he doesn't replicate what Mario wants from his barbers. first time we've been disappointed at Carlos barber! we usually get awesome service. took my son this past Friday for a haircut and noticed after styling it that it was pretty uneven up too, so went back 2 days later to get it fixed.... the sweet girl fixed it, but the owner had her charge us full price?! after years of service, thought a tough up on an obvious uneven cut was in order, but guess not?! so we paid and tipped appropriatel, but won't be back! too bad... cause we love the barbers there. read more

Miriam always greets me with a warm smile and sincerely asks how my family and I are doing before she begins her fabulous fades! She has hundreds of customers but knows exactly what I want... " The Usual!" Besides a detailed fade, Miriam adds her special attention to any ingrown hair follicles, gives me a soothing scalp massage with her own concoction of sugar & Tree/Eucalyptus oil preceded by a warm, wet cloth! Let me vent ‼I've been coming to this shop for a year now. Never had a problem. Now today I get to the barber shop at 3:57 pm yes I know they close at 4:00 pm.. door open I come inside. Some female shouted we are closed. Technically I. Made it before they closed customers still in the chairs get cut . Several empty chairs. Then Oldboy turns around and says we are closed. I replied I am here before 4:pm closing time. So disappointed I too own a business. If one of my customers had came in the shop before I actually closed. Id take care of my customers. Sorry to say I'll never be back ‼ nor will I recommend this place again.. please remember Carlos barber shop employees ‼. It's the customers who pay for your salary. This review does not reflect the shop itself, more so on my experience with the girl that cut my hair. I went in asking for a trim up top & a fade. She looked to be in a bad mood, but I didn't think it would reflect on her work. When she was done, the fade was crooked & I had patches, she said it was from how dark my hair was. When I asked her if she could fix it, she seemed to have an attitude. After she "fixed" it, it looked the same as before. This was my first time going and my last. Also didn't help she charged me 18$ for a haircut that looks like I got in a fight with some clippers. read more

Barber shop is ok, they do good haircuts sometimes but i give it this rating because i went there not too long ago and got a haircut, barber was friendly but i gave them instructions on how to cut my hair (6 on the sides) and was left with a buzz on the sides and a little on top which was far from what I wanted!!! Had about 4-5 inches of hair on the top and it's literally a buzzcut, horrible. I've also had experiences with barbers cutting hair I specifically told them to leave alone. last haircut was so bad i could've done it better myself, wouldn't recommend if you're very picky with your hair. read more

What a joke. The guy with the trailer mullet at the door dat there staring at everyone while the place was packed. Apparently he was in charge of "who was next". No problem if he didn't pull people who had been waiting two minutes ahead of people waiting 35 minutes. Normally when I come my experience is fantastic. This time was angering. People were walking in, waiting then leaving. I think a sign in sheet would probably help with this instead of the brain dead jerk at the door not paying attention. read more

WORST BARBER SHOP EVER. " can you imagine if you had to work at Cool cuts for kids?! I would shoot myself! And then you have to still be nice to them while they are having their meltdown." I went here because a lot of our friends from orangecrest take their kids here for their hair cuts- the people who cut both of our sons hair did a fantastic job. My 2 year old was cranky and having a melt down and I appreciate the tolerance of the barber who cut his hair. However while taking him back to wash his face the barber Marcella told her client " can you imagine if you had to work at Cool cuts for kids?! And then you have to still be nice to them while they are having their meltdown." To which he client responded "aww hell nah" I can't believe the blatant disrespect and how unprofessional she was. My children will never go there again as long as she works there. So word to the wise- if you have kids don't take them here because they aren't "cool cuts for kids" and God forbid they have to be nice to them. read more

Not very familiar with the area of Riverside yet so I decided to rely on Yelp for a barber. Browsing through the listings I came upon Carlos' since it has good reviews and cheap haircuts so I decided to head over since it is 10 minute drive from where I live. I walked in and I believe that I was greeted by Steve. Sat down and told him that I just wanted a trim on the side and the top of my hair retaining my faux hawk. Steve knew what I wanted right away and then went on his way in cutting my hair. He cut my hair very quick and was perfect in the end. The service here is very professional and friendly in a very clean atmosphere with a lot of TV's. I also liked how they have many sports pennants and patches of law enforcement, fire departments, and military on their walls. Would return later for my cuts. read more

It's a little hard for my boyfriend to find a good barber shop close to home. He's pretty much in love with this place. Any time he needs a haircut he comes here. It's cheaper than the other barber that's in the area, and does a better job. The place is super clean, lots of sport related things all over, including professional and the local high school teams. Tons of chairs to sit at, and there is a TV, and a candy box when the little ones are done getting their hair cut. This place is always packed, but I can bring in my 3 boys and we are in & out with great cuts for them. One time my son got his hair cut and I thought it looked great, and the barber literally pulled him back in the chair and said wait i see an issue and fixed it. Crazy for $10 haircuts! The only issue I had one time, and it was not the shops fault so I'm not taking away a star, was another regular thought he was more important than the hand full of people waiting and tried to cut in front of 3 guys and some kids..... but it was handled well by the staff. I feel that they all value our family and our business. Danny is my oldest sons barber, he always keeps him looking clean and fresh. I've been coming here since they've opened and well I've just never have had a bad experience. Mario the shop owner is a true gentlemen and a family man, I've noticed people complaining about the price increase but there's just no way to stay up with the demand and quality without one. I feel good spending the money not only to receive a superior haircut but to know my hard earn money is going to good people like Mario and his crew. You know thus place is a good barber shop just by how packed it always is. My husband always makes sure make an appointment with his Barbee Jeremy before he heads in. Jeremy is one of the best barbers out there.. My husband drives an hour just to go get cut by him. He takes his time and does an amazing job. I recommend this place to every guy out there.
