The girl who cut my hair did a very poor job and didn't even acknowledge me once. I started up the conversation in which she quickly ended and just asked how I wanted my hair cut. The whole time she was talking to her coworkers and did a quick half ass job. I saw her leave shortly after I got in my car so I'm guessing she had a better place to be. Wow.... How bad is this place? Called in to get my son's haircut. Over the phone was told that walk ins were welcome. I got into the shop and literally sat there for 5 minutes without anyone coming up to me and asking if I needed help. They had good reviews and I thought I'd try it out and I was fairly disappointed. I have lived in Riverside for just under a year, but always got my haircut closer to where I work. But today for some reason I just couldn't handle the hair tickling my ears so I decided to come to Yelp and search for barbershops. I chose Carlos' because the price was around when I pay for my haircut normally and the reviews seem to be pretty good. I was not disappointed. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because I would have loved the shaving cream and straight razor finish that I get at my normal barber shop for the same price. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. Other than that the place is great. The staff greeted me with good morning when I got there and said goodbye and to have a nice day when I left. Oh, and my haircut? I got exactly what I wanted, and in no time flat. There were quite a few people when I got there on a Saturday around 11 AM, but I was seated right away. it could be some of the people were done and waiting for their relatives or friends, or it could've been they were waiting for somebody specific. This place is an absolute joke and it's gone downhill like a lot. I've been getting my haircut here for over 5 years now and man have things changed. For starters, no ones wearing a mask which is disgusting, it's probably covid central in there. No temps taken or nothing. On top of all the disease in there running wild, you got two if not three barbers who actually know how to cut hair there including the owner Mario. They just keep upping there prices which is understandable due to the pandemic, however I shouldn't be paying $22 when I get a mid cut every time I leave even if I'm upset they did a terrible job. And if it's right before closing and you request a certain barber they'll tip toe around it until you're stuck waiting for someone you don't want and the person you request will tell you after wasting an hour of your time that they won't cut you up. Done getting my cuts here, youre better off spending $30 for a cut or going to jurupa valley and getting a better $22 cut. read more

I really miss how great this place used to be! Mario, is an awesome barber and my son's always looked great when he was done. Now the last couple times I've been there, Mario isn't and it has been a waste of money and time. Today I even got stiffed an extra $5! I was charged $10 & $12 for two extremely basic cuts I could have done in my kitchen...but then when I paid he added it up to $27, so I guess they add their own tip in too? Beware of Quasimodo's sister that works in the back corner. I tried to get over how Unfinished and sloppy my husband's and son's hair came out but I can't , I am so upset . She rushed through their hair and put a bunch of gel afterwards that I couldn't see the damage until we got home. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with her but she was also very loud and just wouldn't stop talking either. I've heard her talk to customers about her fake religion and honestly things that no one gives a rats ass hearing about. She has no business cutting hair . No talent or skill. First visit was awesome -- perfect haircut, no fuss, no muss. Second visit was horrible -- put gel in my hair without asking, and the haircut was awful. Straight forward professional haircuts. Fades, line up, cuts, trims, and shaves. Best part cheap with great quality. Barbers all can cut. If you got No favorite barber wait times are almost non existant even on busy days. My faves are danny and frank clean fades. Place is always clean. TVs running. The new shop is in a nice area. The price was average $20 and the quality was decent, but I did notice a few uneven lines and patches that I ended up having to fix myself when I got home. I've never had a bad haircut here . They always have at least 5 barbers working and the owner is always there. My young kids also get their hair cut here and they do a great job. Recent visits have let me down again. I think I've had my hair cut by everyone that works there, they all suck except for a cat that's only there a few hours on Saturdays. I have been to every barber shop in Riverside. And this is by far the best value and experience I've had. I love that you can walk in with out an appointment. The staff are all friendly and I always get greeted and or welcomed when I come inside. The prices are great and I can't imagine paying less for this type of on point service from experienced and knowledgeable barbers. I'll update this if I experience any negatives. There is an ATM inside if you need cash to pay. My haircut today was $12, not bad at all. Mario whom I've just recently met since getting my haircut here seems like a very straight up no b.s. kinda guy which I prefer. I can't imagine him ever being rude to someone who wasn't rude first. Especially a customer. I doubt if the negative review on here accurately reflects both sides of the story.
