This 5 star review is for Cecilia who greeted us with a smile and was kind and patient with my elderly father this afternoon. She made helpful suggestions on what to order. The restaurant was empty when we stopped by this afternoon on our way back to the Bay Area. Cecilia was very friendly and we chatted for a bit. She expressed surprise when I told her that my father is 92, and commented that he looked much younger. Our interaction with her left both my father and I with a smile. Monday August 23rd, 2021 @ 9:41pm *** Drove up to the drive thru and all we said was "5 piece" when we were immediately cut off by employee saying "we're out out of chicken nuggets". We spoke back saying "I'm sorry, what was that"? When the employee later yelled saying "WE'RE OUT OF CHICKEN NUGGETS". All we said was "thank you" and drove off. Yelp challenge 2015. 221/365 This place is in the middle of nowhere off the I-5 in Buttonwillow. You pass here on the way to Nor Cal, Kern River or the race tracks. -We decided to stop by here because we were hungry and needed to fill up on gas. There aren't too many businesses around which can be good and bad. We ordered some meals to go. It wasn't as busy which is good but we had to wait a little for our food to be ready. When we got our meal we doubled checked to make sure we got every item that we had ordered. We were missing one item and told them and right away gave us what was missing. Customer service was good, they were all nice and did not have a problem. -Food on the other hand was a problem. You can tell some of the food has been standing there for a while (ex. onion rings). Which makes sense since probably a lot of people don't order them. I would probably stick with the basics. Fries were also okay. I ordered a famous star and it was good, nothing much to complain about. My fiancé ordered a bacon cheeseburger and he did not like it at all. I'm not too big on fast food but when traveling it's easy and fast to order from a drive through and eat as you drive. We pulled up and placed our order. After we paid they gave us our drinks.. First mistake.. They have us 4 cokes and a powerade while we asked for 2 ice tea, 1 powerade, 1 diet coke and a regular coke.. It's a good thing we took sips to make sure we had the right drinks. Then we were asked to pull up to wait for our food. Service seemed slow yet they weren't that busy. The order was correct but they forgot to put the sauce in the fish sandwich and didn't taste like it wasn't seasoned. The turkey burger seemed a bit dry. The other burgers seemed better according to my brothers, they had the western burger and famous star. I don't think I will eat at this carls junior again.. read more

One star is being generous. They never and I mean never get my order right. We were literally the only people there and they still messed up our order. Gave us the wrong order Twice! Ordered chicken strips and got a chicken sandwich. informed we would have to wait 8 minutes for them to correct it.
