This place used to be so much better . I have been coming since they first opened in the 80s. Today my fries were cold and old looking .. Bad was dirty napkin dispensers were empty and dirty .. One female employee on a cell talking at the front counter other male employees talking and visiting like they at a party .. This place needs better managers .. The sweetness of the vidalia onion was the perfect counterpoint to the chef's brilliant flourish in adding just a hint of balsamic in stark contrast to and yet in perfect harmony with the symphony of flavors as they melded together to form...oh wait, this is a Carl's Jr review...what happened to my life? :) What can I say...my dad likes his food sweet. Put sugar or teriyaki glaze on it and he'll love it. Has no concept of gourmet...just make it sweet and he'll say it's good. Having said that, I found myself at this Carl's Jr with him last Saturday. It was the first time that he's been there since he got his new dentures and when Carl's Jr recently announced that they had brought back the Teriyaki burger, we just had to go. He loved his 'Six Dollar burger' version of their Teriyaki burger and I have to admit that I enjoyed mine as well. I usually order the Western Bacon burger (with cheese, BBQ sauce, and onion rings inside), but thought I'd do something different this time. Burger was certainly not gourmet, but incredibly satisfying for fast food. Not bad at all. It certainly made the Big Muck, er Big Mac look tiny in comparison. Loved their CrissCut fries too which totally reminded me of the fries they used to serve at the now closed Baylands Raceway (Fremont Raceway) in Fremont. Some great teen memories there. Those were the days. Huge, I mean HUGE drinks here. The medium is the size of a Big Gulp and the large is just plain laughable. The sign on the wall said that Carl Karcher started his business in LA in 1941 with only a borrowed $311 dollars and $15 in savings to buy a hot dog cart. Another great American rags to riches success story. The workers were great too. Was originally going to give this place three stars, but my dad was so happy that we came here so I figure if it can invoke that kind of happiness, it clearly deserves a higher rating...four stars! read more

Every now and then, I'll order something for lunch or dinner here, but I prefer their breakfast menu. I've never had any issues with my order being incorrect, nor have I ever had any problems with the staff (I only use drive thru). Therefore, I'm giving them four stars for their food, particularly their breakfast. For breakfast, I really enjoy their Monster Biscuit. The biscuits are pretty good for a fast food restaurant, and they put a lot of items in there. The proportions of egg to meat to cheese is perfect in my opinion. I recently just tried their Country Breakfast Burrito, and it was amazing! I was actually really surprised with their gravy. It's the kind of gravy I would expect at a mom and pop diner. As far as lunch menu items are concerned, I feel like their burgers are more upscale in comparison to their competitors. At least the ideas of them are. Flavor can be a hit or miss, though. Went to Carl's Jr.tonight. In Pinole, Ca I told lady in drive thru I wanted a bacon western cheese burger meal without jalapeño peppers. She stated the burger didn't come with jalapeño peppers. I told her that someone keeps putting them on the burger when I order and they did it again. I'm disappointed because my son is allergic to jalapeño peppers and they keep ignoring my wishes. Went today, I wanted a teriyaki chicken sandwich and the order got screwed up twice. 2nd time it was a jalapeño chicken sandwich and the manager was going to have the burger maker toss teriyaki sauce on it. Demanded my money back though bc the burger maker in a loud voice exclaimed, "Are you f@@king serious?" I just ordered from this location off of DoorDash first time ever at Carl's Jr.. After receiving my meal I noticed that 2 burgers, 2 fries and a cookie was missing so I contacted DoorDash and they were very apologetic and helpful. However after opening the food I did have the order was incorrect so I contacted the store and spoke with the Manager on duty about my Frustrating situation And Instead of offering assistance she kept referring me back to DoorDash. Doordash does not cook the food and they already rectified their mishap. my order was wrong let alone half of my order not even being in the bag I simply wanted to just bring my food back I have it made right and she seemed to have a problem with that and I will never spend my money here again. Believe it or not I never have had Carls jr until today, so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the number 1 with regular fries and a coke. The lady taking my order was really nice but sort of rushed me to take my order. Once I got up to my window she took my payment and asked if I wanted ketchup and I said yes. She was quick to bring me my drink which was nice. I waited in my car for about 10 minutes & got my food - not sure what took so long but she asked if I wanted ketchup again and apologized for the wait. It was nice to say that because most fast food places don't do that. As far as the food goes the burger was good but it was sort of assembled sort of messy which wasn't really a big deal but just something that I noticed. The burger tasted like burgers from Burger King which was ok and the fries tasted like McDonalds fries but without all the salt. It's a little more pricey than other fast food places (by like $2-$3) but for my first time it was good and surprised by the drive thru customer service. Will come here again. read more

I got a gift card for Carl's Jr. for my birthday, so headed on over to try it out, the night before Easter. When I got there, the place was pretty deserted, but apparently, while I was waiting in the dining area for my meal, there was a run on take-out, at the counter and the drive-thru. After waiting quite a while, I got up to check on my order, and all the workers were standing around saying what a rush it had been. My fish tacos and fried zucchini had been forgotten at the pick up counter. They handed them over, but when I got back to my table, the tacos, though individually wrapped in foil, were quite cold. Oddly, the zucchini fries were still warm. I took the tacos back and asked them to warm em up in the microwave for me, which was done. Those fish tacos were quite tasty, and the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, all were abundant. It wasn't like I'd gone to the best fish taco truck in Oakland, but I was pleased. A very sloppy eat, but I like sloppy eats. The fried zucchini was fine too. The workers were all pleasant, and the place seemed clean. It just seems like their order and fulfillment process might use some tweaking. They have a LOT of menu items. Overall, I was happy, had a good time, left full. read more

I work in the same parking lot as this Carl's Jr, they use to be good but in the last 6 months it all went down hill. Food is always cold. And the people who work there are the rudest I've ever met, to myself (and obviously everybody else after reading these reviews) Including the manager who was working today at 3.40pm on June 1 when my 11 year old son went in to get his food. The same lady who is rude to him, Everytime he goes there. How can you be rude and give cold food? And rude to a kid is even worse!!! I don't even know why my kid likes that place as the food is never good. I will never allow him to waste another dime with these rude people. I had the western burger. its to be expected that it is dry but good, they changed the way they cook their fries. Its actually real fries now made with real potatoes. Other then a big (when i said big its actually round) guy running the drive thru the other workers are friendly and fast on service. For a late night bite this is one of my spots to go to. Warning long review . Let me start by saying everyone at this Carl's Jr. is so much more kind and patient than any other fast food restaurant. I've had a difficult time with my weight before covid and since covid it got much worse. Being a lazy night shift worker that doesn't know how to cook can often be tough because the options are limited. I decided on doing keto and Carl's Jr is by far the best fast food restaurant to offer a keto option. The burger I order has a long name. I also order alterations on top of ordering a kinda ridiculous order to the point it sounds like a Starbucks drink. Not once have they messed up my order and are always really nice. I've been coming here almost every day for roughly 7 months and I have lost about 55lbs. They have made a real impact on all aspects of my life and I am incredibly grateful. If I could I would love to give all the staff members a hug and a thank you for being part of my weight loss journey, but I am much to shy. Instead I figured I would write this review and recommend this store to anyone looking for a tasty burger and I highly recommend Carl's Jr. for those that are actively doing Keto. For a fast food place Carl's Jr. in Pinole is probably the best fast food place around here. There chicken nuggets are actually chicken in there beef burgers are real beef in their breakfast sausage is just absolutely amazing. They always have the newest items at this Carl's junior. I believe it's one of the test market stores. We were the first to get The five dollar box which is absolutely a large amount of food for five dollars. There's really nothing we've tried that we have enjoyed and the people are always super pleasant the drive-through goes really quickly and they're open 24 hours a day most days of the week. What ever happened to manners? I came through the drive thru and after I was handed my stuff I thanked him and his reply was "yup". Not to mention he didn't greet me when I pulled up, just reached his hand out to take my money. Ordered 3 sliders with fries and a medium coke. $14.00. The sliders were ice cold and so overcooked. The manager gladly replaced them with 3 more ice cold sliders. Meat flavored cardboard. I went here the other nite and I ordered at the drive-thru and the girl taking the order Cassandra was not the person to be taking orders. Everything I said she could not understand until the 3 or 4th time. The people that work here must be morons. How hard is it to make hot food and serve it through a window? I go through the Drive-Thru, order a couple of street tacos. When I go to eat them, they are ICE COLD, as if they have been sitting in a refrigerator. I call to complain - and their phone rings and rings and then gets answered by a fax machine. When the "supervisor" comes on the line, he says he doesn't believe that they are that cold, as they are all made to order. BS they are made to order - these two tacos have been sitting in cold storage. They get my order correct about half the time, but when they do get it right, it really hits the spot. I always order the chicken tender sandwich. I have probably eaten at Carls 20 times over the past 2 years and no complaints. I never paid attention to the bacon in the biscuit. It happens that my biscuit fell apart while I was eating and driving. The bacon looked like a greasy piece of plastic. It was bacon just not bacon I could say I was proud to serve or eat.
